Guest Reviews
- Rongxing (10/5): - Good
- Dawn (10/5): - We were pleased with this location as we were able to walk to our evening event. The room was spacious and very clean. The only improvement that would help would be to have two night tables one on each side of the bed! Nowhere for one guest to a place phone, eyeglasses etc. The staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. We did enjoy our stay.
- Manimaran (10/5): - Excellent hotel for business travel related to the university.
- Amanda (10/5): - It was a great room, exactly what we needed.
Great staff
- Sarah (8/5): - Very handy location near the subway. Room was clean and quiet. Would have been better with a fridge.
- Nichola (8/5): - Some of our group booked through the school, and some through expedia. Only the people who booked through a third party, expedia, had continental breakfast. The group of athletes, who booked through their university with york university, were not advised breakfast was not included, or that there was no mini fridge in any of the rooms. It made it inconvenient, and I feel like there should have been better communication provided.
Also, parking was not easy to find as it is in a parkade across the street. You have to pay a third party for parking, which was also information not provided with the booking. For the price of the room per night, there could definitely be more information provided. The staff was beyond courteous and great to deal with though.
- Tyler (8/5): - Good for the rate.
- Irfan (8/5): Convenient - Convenient and affordable.
Close to Roger’s stadium concert venue
- Sergio (8/5): - Clean room and close to a metro station
- Malgorzata (10/5): - Staff is very nice and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable, the bed was comfy as well, Internet connection was excellent. The building itself seems to be well taken care of. Very pleasant stay and very close to Rogers Center. They can store your bags, too. Things that could improve is the shower head (there is a very low pressure despite the water itself having very strong pressure) and there is a random noise coming from around the window that woke me up at night constantly but I couldn't figure out what it was. Overall, an amazing stay and I will be recommending this Hotel!
- Hillary (8/5): - Was attending a concert at Roger’s Stadium and wanted to stay close enough to the venue. This location had TTC access right around the corner, making it easy to get around the city. Is located on York University campus so restaurant/shopping options were limited - breakfast is available in the hotel though. Staff were great. Rooms were basic but comfortable.
- Faraz (6/5): - Good if you have to attend a conference
- Jonathan (10/5): - Easy to get around, near the subway
- Justine (10/5): - More plugs to charge
- Samantha (10/5): - Good stay, nice staff. Tough to find entrance
- Muhammad Fakhrur (8/5): - I like that it is spacious but the problem is there is no mini fridge
- James (8/5): - No fridge or microwave
- Erik (8/5): - No fridge or any kitchen utensils available.
King size bed was not a king.
Parking at the private lot was somewhat problematic: you need to use an app and remember to renew the session. I missed a couple hours and got dinged with a $75 municipal parking ticket
- Yvan (10/5): - Clean room, friendly staff, easy parking near the Subway
- Tara (10/5): - Super close to ttc
Close to parking
Quiet area
Clean rooms
- Kristen (4/5): - Parking is run separately, and is confusing with respect to an overnight stay. You have to pay for two full days for one overnight.
Check-in took forever, despite being the only ones checking in at that time.
- Nicole (6/5): - Parking is confusing. Go to student service parking and drive down to the lowest level. There was/is a problem with payment and it has made this experience very unsatisfying. They lock the doors at 2 a.m. my spouse was locked out with a dead phone. The breakfast looked as though it was going to be a buffet style but it ended up being some cheese, yogurt, and some bread items. There needs to be some work on communication of what the parking situation is going to be like, as well as being locked out if you are out late. The room was super clean and comfy. And it was a good place to stay if you are going to the rogers stadium. Food was no more than a 10 minute walk at night. It was super safe and quiet. Id stay here again but only because I now have more knowledge about what expect. Honestly the payment issue is the only reason it isnt a 5 star experience, everything else was managable.
- Mo (10/5): - The hotel is quiet in safe campus.
- Erick (8/5): - Was a good hotel
- Barbara (6/5): - No signage on the street to know you are actually at the hotel. Parking is all through Honk app. Nothing special however it was convenient to subway to get to Rogers stadium
- Charles (2/5): - The staff was very rude. The bed was horrible. The bed was like 100 years old. They must’ve gotten the mattress out of the garbage you should be embarrassed to charge for this. You should refund all my money.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Stayed for concert at Roger’s stadium- very convenient for that purpose.
Park at student center across the street. The front desk was odd to find but it’s the Executive Center across the street from the student center parking lot.
Front desk was friendly, room was clean and comfortable
Would def recommend especially if attending a Rogers concert
- Kyle (10/5): - Great spot to see a cincert at Roger's stadium.
- John Michael (6/5): - Check in process was slow, late and reception staff did not complete tasks ss promised.
- Vanessa (8/5): - Overall was a nice stay but the breakfast wasn’t very good. Just coffee and some pastries mostly. A warm breakfast would’ve been nice.
- Candace (10/5): Friendly, accommodating staff - Convenient and clean. Not a fan of the bed or pillows but the service at the desk was helpful directing us around. The dining room was closed so we had to find another place to eat which was not in our plans but we worked it out.
- Mergie (10/5): A very nice quiet hotel - I like the location to the Rogers Stadium. The room was great except the housekeeping didn’t whipped the dust of the tv table, bed side and desk. And the continental breakfast wasn’t impressive. Just cold stuff. If I wanted eggs I have to pay extra. But overall good!
- Luis (8/5): - Location was convenient for subway access. Staff were friendly and attentive.
Breakfast was not very good at all.
- Tammy (8/5): - We had problems with our room key cards and found a bug in our otherwise lovely room. Thank you to all the staff for being friendly and accommodating
- Ian (6/5): - The hotel was very clean. It was at subway station York University which made it convenient. There was nowhere to go at night during summer at the university campus. It was a reasonable price for somewhere in Toronto which is connected to a subway line.
- Amanda (10/5): - Friendly staff, clean rooms, spacious bathroom. I like the added security of an elevator key for patrons only.
- Amber (6/5): - The rooms lacked a fridge which was odd and the bes was not great
- Felicia (10/5): - If you’re attending a concert at the Roger’s stadium this is a very convenient place to stay! 3 min walking to subway station. Room was spacious and bed was comfy.
- Ria Hannah (10/5): - Very good
- Haley (8/5): - Great spot, and decent hotel. Customer service was great with us . But location was difficult to find, and finding the front desk for check in could have been more accessible (or identified)
- Christine (8/5): - Had a little trouble finding the location because there was no sign on the front of the building. I believe the building says “student resource center” so I didn’t think I was in the right area. The ladies at the front desk were amazing because they came out to help with directions/make sure I was in the correct area.
- Kevin (4/5): - Had no idea this was a university dorm room. Quality of furnishings was very poor. Paid parking, limited breakfast. IMO any other place for the same price would be much better. Won’t stay here again nor will a recommend.
- Nastaran (10/5): - It is ok, overall is good
- Teresa (8/5): - Very convenient. Located on the York University campus and walking distance from the Sobeys Stadium.
- Shakhar (6/5): - The only problem is that one of the nights whet
- TETSUJI (10/5): - This is the closest hotel to Sobeys Stadium.
- Boyce (6/5): Its ok i guess? - No ac i could adjust. All i had was a window, not even a fan. I was pretty uncomfortable temperature wise.
Also the door for the bathroom is on the wrong side i kept walking into it.
Lastly the towel rack INSIDE the shower is a terrible idea. My towels got soaked
- Melissa (10/5): - Was a quiet and safe space. Comfortable beds! Staff was excellent. Breakfast was suitable and convenient with Starbucks coffee, muffins , boiled eggs, cheese & deli meat, toast, pastries, fresh fruit, yogurts and juices. Excellent size room for 2 adults and quite relaxing. Good showers and all you could ask for in a room.
- Rohin (10/5): - Friendly, helpful staff. Very close to the tennis centre. Well appointed room for the price. Continental breakfast was a nice bonus! :)
- Dale (10/5): Clean - Clean. Walking distance to York tennis facility/ National Bank open. Aroma coffee shop nearby.
- Franziska (8/5): - The room was very spacious and clean. The staff was really nice and the 24/7 reception very convenient. Breakfast is included in the price. Close to the subway, which makes it easy to get around. Would definitely stay here again!
- Apolonia (10/5): - The
- Minh-Toan (10/5): - clean and very close to the station
- Michael Ryan (8/5): - Amazing Polite Staff. Check in was really smooth and quick. Parking is not free for hotel guests which its should be. If you are planning to attend a concert at Rogers Stadium , this is one of the hotels thats ideal to check into.only downside for this hotel hence the 4 stars is, breakfast included is basic, no hot meals. We had to order ubereatscfor breakfast. Hopefully breakfast will improve.
- Edgar (8/5): - Liked: room size, clean, continental bk environment
Less liked: away from Toronto center, parking issue...
- Amanda (10/5): - Extremely clean with a beautiful room. Very easy to get to rogers stadium from here. Very safe and clean location.
- George (8/5): - I liked the property for its location close to the conference I was attending. I also liked the breakfast. I didn't like the fact that the night table next to the bed and the phone on top of it were dusty. I also didn't like that housekeeping didn't show up to clean the room on one of the days of my stay.
- Stephen (4/5): Hot(not in a good way) - The A/C didn’t work well and the room was like an oven. It’s a University hotel so it’s like staying in a dorm.
- Magali (10/5): - Great stay.
- Zach (10/5): - Très bien !
- Lina (8/5): - Clean and spacious room, very close to subway.
Does not have fridge or microwave.
Good breakfast, fresh croissants.
- Jhazmayn (8/5): - Good hotel if you’re attending a concert at the Roger’s stadium
- michael (10/5): - Very convenient for Roger’s Stadium
- Tania (10/5): - Great location close to Downsview Park Rogers Stadium breakfast included. Staff were were friendly and helpful.
- Melina (8/5): - Nom de la place difficile à trouver
- James (10/5): - Great stay
- John (10/5): - Staff were extremely helpful and happy
- Caroline (8/5): - Bon service, bel accueil.
Insonorisation moyenne.
- Lori (10/5): - Excellent place to stay!!!!! Coffee shop near lobby area , fantastic staff, very clean room. Great air conditioning. Subway is 3 minute walk as is food options. I will be back !!!!
- David (8/5): - It was a pleasant place to stay
- Roberto (8/5): - Very convenient location
- shauna (6/5): Nice staff, bleh stay - First, the building doesn't say hotel anywhere on it, it just says its a business school. This was very confusing. The front doesn't look like the picture online either.
The staff was very kind and helpful, but the wifi was terrible in our room, there was no mini-fridge in the room, and the TV was not a smart TV so we couldn't cast or anything to it (just local/cable channels).
The room was clean and the AC was great. The view and location are goo as well. The bed was hard but not totally uncomfortable. The Continental breakfast was underwhelming.
It was a fine stay but I probably wouldn't stay again unless I had to. The no mini fridge in the room and bad wifi were annoying enough for me to pass on it.
But the staff was 5 out of 5, all very nice!!
- Brianna (6/5): - The only positive was the price and location somewhat close to Roger's Stadium / train stop. The building was really odd, it didn't feel like a hotel, lights and amenities all really odd in different ways, not comfortable or welcoming feeling. Didn't have any food at the front desk despite saying they always do.
- Christopher (8/5): - The hotel itself was comfortable and a nice stay. There are no signs that say “Schulich Hotel & Conference Center” by the entrance door so was a bit confusing figuring out where to enter. Breakfast was like a European breakfast - croissants and breads, deli meat and cheese, and some cut up fruit.
- Brian H (4/5): - There is nothing from the street to show entrance. There is hardly any parking in front to check in and you could get a parking ticket just waiting. The actual parking isn’t easy to find the proper location as well. Staff was friendly. Room was clean and comfortable bed. I won’t return here.
- Sébastien (8/5): - Le bruit des chambres avoisinantes peut être dérangeant. On entend également le bruit des ascenseurs. Le service est impeccable et courtois.
- Marie-Claude (10/5): - I was impressed with this hotel for a "campus hotel". It is conveniently situated on York University campus and close to the subway station. The room exceeded my expectations (well-equipped, good wi-fi) and so did the breakfast venue. The breakfast itself is the standard continental, but the venue and staff are great. All the staff is friendly and professional. It was a bit noisy outside my room on Friday night, but the noise subsided after 10pm.
- Pamela (10/5): - We had dance competition and stayed at this hotel as it was around the corner.
Easy, convenient, friendly staff.
- Tracy (6/5): - This facility is advertised as a hotel with a restaurant. I booked this for my husband because it was close to York University and because of the Taylor Swift concert and hockey other hotels I looked at were full. False advertising - restaurant was only open to people who were taking courses at the facility. Other restaurants in immediate area were closed For Good. Only fast food type options or pizza. There was no fridge/microwave/coffee in the room, which are all basic hotel amenities and he was in an executive room. The price without these basics was very expensive. These comments are Not for further posting.
- Natalia (8/5): - The hotel is on the York University campus and is perfect for visiting the university. I was there to attend a conference and loved that it took me under 10 minutes to get to the venue from the hotel. The hotel is really close to the subway station, too.
The hotel is quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful. My room was spacious, comfortable, clean. The complimentary Wi-Fi worked perfectly. I was impressed by the attentiveness of the cleaning person: they noticed that I used a specific coffee roast and replaced it promptly (it often happens in hotels that if there are still several sachets left, they forget to replace the roast you used).
Now, my quibbles: the bath towels had spots on them, which was unpleasant. There is no bar or restaurant on the premises and no room service, so to get food you have to go to the university food court. It's a short walk, but if you are tired or the weather is bad, this is not a great option. The York University campus is in the middle of nowhere, meaning that, apart from the food court, there is nothing within walking distance. Ordering a delivery is another possibility. The continental breakfast in the hotel was laughable. I tried it the first morning of my stay, and the next day I didn't even bother.
Overall, I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the York University campus -- just plan your meals!
