Das Château ist bezaubernd und mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Solch besondere Erlebnisse kannten wir bisher nur aus Frankreich – umso schöner ist es zu wissen, dass es solche Orte und Gastgeber auch in der Romandie gibt. Wir kommen ganz bestimmt wieder!

- Nathalie (9/5): Séjour luxueux à la campagne - Si vous aimez les vielles pierres, les bâtiments avec une histoire...c'est l'endroit idéal. Le Château Mathod est un lieu merveilleux autant à l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur avec ses multiples jardins. Nous avons été très bien accueilli. Bien conseillées. L'espace SPA que l'on peut privatiser est très bien conçu et agréable. Le petit déjeuner est varié. ...c'était parfait.

Merci! Le seul petit bémol: nous avions la chambre donnant sur la salle à manger, donc un peu de bruit le matin. Dommage!

Der Garten, der erahnen lässt wie herrlich er im Frühling uns Sommer ist. Man wir ganz persönlich und zuvorkommend betreut! Die Beschriftung der Zufahrt, dürfte sichtbarer sein, für so ein feines Haus.

Literie très confortable. Propreté impeccable. Jardin avec de nombreux transats. Salle de jeux à disposition avec billard. Pas d’accès à la piscine entre 10h30 et 12h et après 19h. Un peu juste quand on arrive en soirée… Il manque quelques prises de courant dans la suite du RDC du bâtiment principal.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our incredible host, whose kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made our experience truly unforgettable. The château itself is even more beautiful in person than in the photos – every corner exudes charm, elegance, and care. The rooms were spotless, the service impeccable, and the attention to detail was outstanding. We especially loved the peaceful pool area and the beautifully maintained grounds, which offered a perfect setting for relaxation. Breakfast was absolutely delicious – everything was locally sourced, from the homemade marmelades to the incredibly fresh eggs. You could truly taste the care and quality in every bite. Everything was perfect. We extend our heartfelt thank you to Yannick and Nicolas for making us feel so welcome and cared for. We will most definitely return.

Lots of nice gardens and a fantastic games room with Billiards, bar football and an eclectic vinyl record collection available to play. Above all the staff are so friendly and helpful. Location is ideal to visit the Vallorbes region recommend the Orbes Roman Mosaics and the local waterfalls.

Fabulously renovated rooms with nice amenities such as locally made soaps and such, a Nespresso machine, robes and slippers. There is a pool and the hosts make you feel at home. Nothing I didn’t like.

International TV available in the room. Kettle and Coffee very practical. Furniture and explanation of the historic location excecptional. The matresses were too soft for our taste. They allowed a good sleep, though.

Spa and wellness was sadly closed, they only open in the winter as its not economical to keep both the pool and wellness at the same time, If I had noticed this I may have booked elsewhere. Photos on booking.com showed more communal spaces and a snooker table etc, these were not available or shown to us as guests. Swimming pool area open at specific times, closes at lunchtime and very early in the evening - 17:30.
