Guest Reviews

- Amir (6/5): It was pleasant but would be nicer to have a better communication with the owner. - The location is really accessible and nice. The way the property was manager and poor communication from the owner. Messages were either misunderstood or responded back too late.
- Rebecca (9/5): Location and view is amazing - The location was amazing very close to the ferry and bus stop. Check in and out was a quick and easy. The park is perfect for morning coffee and there is a beautiful restaurant very close to the unit.
- Rhonda (10/5): Great place to work and hang out as well as a convenient travel base - Convenience of the location
Ease of access
Just enough of everything
Comfy bed Salt would be nice
Otherwise everything great!"
- Jamie (6/5): The location was excellent, the property needs tidying up and presenting better for the cost. - Location was excellent Gardens and surrounds were untidy and overgrown. Property had a musty smell and mould on the bedroom blinds.
- Celeste (9/5): Fabulous location and a great apartment - N/A Nothing
- Helene (8/5): -
- Hall (5/5): Nice view and great location. Poor check-in admin, poorly maintained, hidden costs. - Reasonable price. Really great view of the harbour and bridge. Super convenient location, 1 min walk to ferry terminal, 5 seconds to the bus stop. Frequent ferries and busses. Using their online app was required to check in. Needed the URL, buried in a single email from some time ago, without useful keywords (they sent ~20 emails about the stay over the three weeks). I asked for help, they said "check your emails". I asked for help again, they finally sent the link, grr. The app, when accessed, did have clear step-by-step check-in info.
There was a secret damage insurance cost added after booking (~$38) that had to be paid. Not cool.
There was no tea, coffee or sugar (but several boxes where these items would be expected). Quite annoying.
Early 2000's style fitout, poorly maintained. The condition of the apartment was poor - many lights did not work, balcony door had been kicked in (from the outside!) previously and was broken. Stained / damaged furniture left an impression of poor maintenance.
Not in walking distance of a supermarket, but that's on me.
- Gan (7/5): - The temperature to the aircond cannot be controlled
- Rachel (8/5): -
- Anggun (9/5): It was great, but needs to be cleaned more - Great location, nice view and next to public transportation The unit doesn’t perfectly cleaned, there’s hair in the shower that stuck in the water channel, and most of the corners in the house is dusty.
- Simon (9/5): Comfortable flat, in a fabulous well-connected location - Fabulous well-connected location a short - although fairly steep - walk from pub, cafe, groceries. Bus into central Sydney stops literally outside the front door. Walk 100m and you’re stepping aboard a ferry. Directly outside the flat is an unromantic view of the bus turning circle (noise did not bother me) but across that is the harbour, Barangaroo and the bridge. Magnificent! Comfortable flat. Minor defects included an overhead light that didn't work, missing tea/coffee/milk, A/C inoperable (but in winter the supplied blow-heater filled the gap for me fine). I reported all these to the management, and anticipate that they will be fixed.

- Kaitlin (9/5): Excellent view of Sydney Harbour Bridge with quick and convenient public transport to the city. - Location was great with public transport right outside the door. There was a bus that came very frequently and was only 15min bus ride to Queen Victoria Building as well as the public ferry that would take you right to Circular Quay within 30mins. Check in was very easy and enough room for 2 people. You had a great view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from the bedroom window, lounge room window and balcony. There were simple facilities in the apartment to be able to cook which is handy if wanting to eat on more of a budget. Would definitely come back again if coming back to Sydney. The bathroom sink didn't drain at all during our visit. The light in the bedroom didn't work very well either (was very dim). However, just made do with the situation but using the kitchen sink and the lamps on the bedside table. For myself and my partner this wasn't that much of a big deal and would still come back and visit the property (these would be easy fixes).
- Ryotaro (10/5): -
- Charles (9/5): - The proximity to transport and spectacular views.
- Yi Tsen (7/5): - The view and location. They have too many rules (including you need to clean up bins by yourself) and need to pay $500 deposit advance. Air con has a problem, but they reply can't fix it before we leave, but it does give us a bit of discount for compensation.
- Josephine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nona (10/5): Exceptional - Recommended to my work colleagues ever go to Sydney Balmain Warf apartment place to stay buss and ferry just on the doorstep when going to city good choice 👍
- Megan (7/5): The owners need to do maintenance. It's an old building - no one expects 5 star - but black mould? - Location is great. Proximity to bus, ferry and walking distance to cafes, pubs and restaurants was very handy. The view from the apartment was pretty spectacular. Downside - noise (and lack of privacy) from buses and people passing by or waiting for buses. Once we got used to it it wasn't too bad. Aircon on at night helped drown out some of it. Mould. Black mould on ceiling in living area, and mould in shower. Previous reviews also note this (since June 2024) and obviously nothing has been done. Uncomfortable couch. Hot water takes a really long time to kick in. Again, I note that previous reviews have mentioned these very things. Responsiveness of hosts - sent a message at the beginning of the stay and didn't get a message until home afterwards.
- Anne (7/5): Great location, shame property not better maintained. - Location wonderful, right by the ferry and great views of the water happenings No fan in bedroom, light not working in lounge (contacted host organization who explained it had shorted after a downpour and we could try it again - it did then work in a flickering way), mould on ceiling in lounge, no light on entering the property to access the room, problematic in the dark.
- Florian (10/5): it is the perfect sydney location with regular connections to Circular Quay and Barangaroo - Excellent location and comfortable apartment
- Darko (7/5): Balmain is a good area to stay. The ferry was a convenient way to travel. The bed was comfortable. - Good location. Good communication. Didn’t realise we’d have to pay in full upfront, also a security deposit $500 2 weeks in advance. That was a bad surprise. They requested emailed photo ID which we weren’t comfortable to provide. A few things were broken, (coffee machine, light bulbs, handle on toaster) and the place was not particularly clean. (Grubby throw rugs, couch, fingerprints on kitchen appliances, dirty marks on the blinds and walls.) No salt, pepper, dish brush, or bench mops provided. A bit of a smell. The sheet arrangement on the bed became really messy and uncomfortable after a nights sleep. The bottom sheet on the mattress didn’t cover the entire mattress - our feet were directly on the mattress. The top sheet slipped off the doona.
- Sonia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Amy (10/5): Great - The view of the bridge. The location. Easy to enter the property and great communication.
- Bryden (8/5): Very good -
- Carly (10/5): Loved it! - Priceless view. Comfortable bed. Old building so starting to need a few little repairs inside the apartment. Nothing too drastic. Heads up for other travellers the hot water takes a long time to come through.
- Robyn (8/5): Very good - Location was excellent The property was leaking with all the rain and had a musty smell.
- Paul (8/5): I would stay again, but in a different apartment. - No Breakfast. Location to the Ferry and Bus was very handy. I stayed in Unit 4, the Bedroom window is adjacent to the rear lane/street (right outside the window, 1 metre away). Cars and People use this lane regularly. When I first got there i felt this may be a major problem. Over the week it didn't become an issue. However a busier time of the year would prove a difficulty.
- Lauren (7/5): Good -
- Brenden (9/5): Excellent weekend stay - Great location with access to the Ferries and public transport.
- Ian (7/5): Very BASIC accommodation in a magnificent location. - Location was amazing and that is what drove our decision to stay in this location. Small unit facing the Bus & Ferry Stop and we had to be very vigilent about privacy with a contant stream of commuters walking past our unit at eye level day and night.
- Helen (6/5): We were visiting family & found the location perfect. - We loved the location & area. It was very convenient for our family visit. We expected the internal maintenance on the building to be better eg. the peeling paint was disappointing & the dead cockroach. It was very frustrating to arrive back & find someone had taken our paid parking spot behind the apartments.
- Neil (9/5): We look forward to coming back. - Location, view, close to transport A coffee plunger would have been useful.
1 side of toaster apparently does not work, but not a serious issue
- Barry (9/5): Superb - Absolutely perfect location in front of the ferry wharf to go to Circular Quay or Darling Harbour in minutes. Lovely view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Loved the outside area to have breakfast and watched the sun rise over the bridge. Had an issue with the fridges been iced up, which we managed to resolve.
Outside area although lovely could do with a tidy and hedges clipping to make the most of the view.
- Heather (8/5): We will stay there again if possible because of location, cleanliness & comfort - The Location for us was perfect to leave the car & travel by ferry to all locations on the harbour & a great restaurant next door - excellent Only two oversites - no toilet paper & no teatowel or washing up cloth
- Sue (8/5): Very good -
- Stan (9/5): A most pleasant abode for holidaying in Sydney with bus and ferry on doorstep allowing easy access, - An unrivalled location in regards to accessing public transport . Acceptable noise level given the location close to bus and public park. Great views of cbd and bridge although only from outside the apartment. Kitchen and facilities excellent. Shower hot and strong. Furniture in lounge area could have been more comfortable . Couch not suitable for long term tv viewing. Cover on couch showing stain activity. Would have preferred a view of that wonderful vista from inside the apartment. Pretty bland interior. WiFi intermittent which was annoying both for streaming enjoyment and receipt of emails. Although certainly NOT the fault of the host there was no easy access to shopping without a bus trip up the hill!
- Cally (8/5): Was the perfect spot for a mini break. - Location is amazing! Right in front of the ferry wharf making it easy to get to the city. Communication with the hosts was problematic. Check-in details didn’t turn up until after we arrived and when I tried to call on the Sunday all I got was voicemail.
- John (8/5): Overall, I would gladly come back. - Location, location, location. Unit is very comfortable Considering the cleaning fee, I expected better. For instance, the drain grate in the shower had hair and trash from prior use.
- Sharon (10/5): Unique location - The location is exceptional. We loved sitting on the balcony and watching the ferries and sailing boats cruise past with the spectacular backdrop of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The property has some maintenance and cleaning issues which we have reported to the hosts. Unfortunately they did detract from our enjoyment of the property but we still had a comfortable stay.
- Madonna (7/5): Excellent location. - Fantastic location, amazing view, extremely close to ferry and bus stations. We booked the car park which was really useful as street parking would be difficult. Although the apartment was surface clean, it is definitely due for a spring clean. The balcony locks and the balustrade also need some repairs.
