Guest Reviews
- anita (7/5): Authentisch! So wohnt man hier!
- Jo (9/5): Quirky property, lots of steps to get there but within 5 mins you are in centre of great bars and restaurants, before re - It was a quirky property in a great location If you a limited mobility it would not be the property for you
- Stephen (8/5): A comfortable, quirky apartment in a very interesting location - It was a pleasure to stay in Eduardo's house. He met me to give me the keys and show me around. It's in a very interesting area of Alicante, on the hill above the town and below the castle. The apartment is very comfortable and well-equipped, with lots of interesting and quirky artwork etc, and it's a short walk to the restaurants, shops, castle and beach. The house is on a steep hill and only accessible via a lot of steps - that didn't bother me, but some people might struggle to access it
- Christine (9/5): - Lieu atypique Beaucoup d escaliers pour accéder à l appartement.déconseille aux personnes à mobilité réduite.
- Natasha (2/5): Decepcionante. - .

- stasia (10/5): Quirky little apartment. - The location in the old part of town is perfect, right near the bars and restaurants, and a short walk to the beach. Nothing, we liked everything.
- gail (4/5): Disappointing example of tradional cottage - Lovely bed, lots of hot water, good with fi
Host helpfull, carried our luggage . No sea view, but good views of city and area. Know this area but was not prepared for the poor access. 103 steps from last vehicular access and parking in castle grounds another fifteen minutes away all uphill. House dark and cold with lethal staircase .Scruffy and grubby ,does not resemble photos or have half the facilities listed. Noisy neighbours, not detached. Can't understand how it has good reviews.Had it not been Christmas would not have stayed.
- Inger (10/5): -
- Hanna (8/5): - Nice terrace, everything you need. Many steps but was expected. The showerhead should be fixed.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Quirky but comfortable stay in the old part of Alicante - A really quirky place a short walk down from the castle and walking distance from the town. Lovely terrace to watch the sunset. Eduardo was friendly and helpful and greeted us in person. He recommended a free carpark nearby. The house is in a warren of streets and stairs so not suitable for the elderly or unfit or for bringing lots of luggage! We were very comfortable during our one night stay. The wall bracket for the shower is missing but the shower is very powerful and hot.
- Finn (9/5): -
- Marek (9/5): -
- Danny (8/5): - The quirky house and the location in the heart of the Barrio was a real privilege. The fact it was advertised as having parking a little disengenuios as it was a way away and a public car park.
- Sean (7/5): -
- Nicholas (9/5): - Yes great location after we found it
A lot of steps but that is the area

- Mari (4/5): Disappointed - The location is close to the Santa Barbara castle, access to the downtown in a few minutes by foot. It's not recommended for those coming with a car, the host is sharing the coordinates link to park at the castle parking, which is usually full. The property does not have parking. The host is sharing the coordinates link to park at the castle parking, which is 10 minutes away by foot climbing stairs and downhill. It's not easy to go with the backpack on you and other baggages you need (don't even joke about to forget something in the car and go back to grab it). The house is more like a local living house in the old downtown with a small kitchen, narrow bathroom & old towels, without natural light. The only positive thing was the bed in the bedroom.
- Carey (10/5): We had the best of experiences ! We can’t stop raving about the accommodation and the neighbourhood and have rec - Great location , very well equipped , great views and cute and quirky decor We lived everything
- Paul (9/5): Unique positive experience in house between old town and castle. - The owner was very nice and helpful, met me in a square, and brought me to the house. The house is under the castle in a magical neighbourhood over the old town. The place has a lot of character. Terrace on the roof is a nice touch.
- Kieron (10/5): Alicante Hideaway - Really cool little hideaway in an awesome part of Alicante, lost in the alleyways of the Old Town. We loved the huge bed, awesome decor (which might have inspired some photography of our own), balcony and location!
- Fernando (9/5): Nice host, good location. - The location was awesome.
- Paula (7/5): Good -
- Pitshaporn (10/5): Cozy fully equipped house next to the Castle - Plenty of space with cozy vibe for a group of friends or family to stay. The location was right at the foot of the hill with great view of the Castle. The host was very accommodating and friendly. All facilities are functioning. Be mindful that the house is on the hill so there will be plenty of stairs. So, no large luggages.
- Joanna (10/5): A charming spot for a night or few days with a professional and caring host. - The space is cosy and charming with lovely terrace and living room in a supreme location.
- Anthony (8/5): Great stay in the old part of the city - Very cute little house in the Barrio of Santa Cruz it has everything for a short stay. Great value for money and we were able to take our small sausage dog It is very difficult to find and I would recommend that you call the owner when you arrive as we wandered around for nearly an hour. Lots of steps in this area but once you find the location it's fine
- Monika (10/5): Highly recommend - Great location. Magical spot and really nice host.
- Vasile (9/5): Superb -
- Abigail (8/5): Great location & incredible terrace - It’s in the perfect spot in Old Town - easy to walk everywhere and with beautiful views over the city from the lovely terrace. It felt like a secret cave. Eccentric in a good way, comfortable and the terrace was really relaxing to sit out for a morning coffee and watch the world go by. Really warm welcome from Eduardo too - we had a great time!! It’s quite loud with people walking past the front door in the early morning on their way home - didn’t bother us much but could be disruptive for a light sleeper.
- Lynne (7/5): Lovely stay in a great location. - The owner was extremely helpful and really friendly. The house was cute and full of character and it was a good location if you are okay with lots of steps Sofa was uncomfortable and the whole lounge/relaxation area was a bit sparse and not that inviting.
Terrace was a bit grubby and untidy
- Taina (8/5): Very good - At first i thought of just booking another place to stay since there were bad reviews (and good as well) The 100 steps mentioned scared me a bit. We proceeded anyway since we are still fit for our age ( both retired). The steps were steep but knowing it, we left our luggages in the car and just brought what we needed. The apartment was small but cozy & it was cleaned and disinfected well. The sheets and towels were old & tired but were clean and smelled fresh. I requested sheets for the sofa bed and Edu did provide them. To get to the kitchen are steep steps. The kitchen was well equipped. There’s cooking oil, pots, spices, tea, coffee so that’s awesome! Edu also sent a link to a free parking and helped us save money. We need exercise anyway so we just dealt with the steps. The place wasn’t that bad as we thought. In fact, it was a walk distance to most city attractions ( not all though) steep steps
- Darren (10/5): Camden Town vibes with added sunshine - The space is super cool … it’s the sort of feel I couldn’t achieve so it’s appreciated when you experience it.
It’s in an area I know and is very pretty, it’s got a lovely terrace that gets the sun almost all day .
I was continually running late and rearranged key collection numerous times … host was cool
Wifi fast / reliable No TV threw me a bit at first but I got past that … for a longer stay might be an issue
Eduardo …. Some sharp knives fella!
No aircon in bedroom… didn’t effect me but height of Alicante summer ?!?
I’m not sure that washing machine works… I daredn’t risk it 😂
- David (7/5): Small flat in a great location - The location on the castle hill and the whole barrio was great. Views of the city amazing. I am a big guy and it was a very small flat with lots of narrow steps up and down so I was permanently having to watch out not to hit my head etc. In general you should not go for this location with a lot of luggage or any sort of mobility issues. There are few streets in this part of the city - just steps.
The flat could also have been a bit cleaner and better equipped.
- Sonia (7/5): Good - Eduardo was great at communicating and very helpful when we got a little lost.
The house was quirky and unusual. The terrace was nice to sit out on. There are lots of steps to get to the property. The steps inside the property are very steep.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Seth (10/5): Perfect - De ligging -
- Ayesha (8/5): Very good -
- Joanna (10/5): Best ever. A true gem - This was the best place ever, a real 💎 gem.
Eduardo was so accommodating and generous and the place is delightful . Artfully decorated, a real curator and creator.
The place felr like a home from home. I couldn't quite believe that we had the serendipity to find the house in an area of my dreams !!
Thankyou again, Eduardo. It's been a pleasure to stay here. Er....nothing I didn't like!!
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valentyna (7/5): Very quirky house - The owner is really friendly and helpful. The house is very quirky and full of unusual things. You are staying in the old town in one of the tiny old houses which is a unique experience. There's no parking available at the property. There is some parking 8 mins from the house and we managed to park there no problem at 9pm, however this parking got very busy during the day.
The house was very cold and some windows didn't close properly (due to its being an old house) so it didn't feel cosy or safe for us personally. Maybe it wouldn't be an issue in summer, but not ideal in winter.
- Peter (7/5): Lovely old house - Lovely house, area and host. House needs good deep clean and major declutter. Lots of junk and personnel items. Car parking difficult.
- Federica (8/5): Very good -
- Steve (9/5): Great place, full of character, fantastic views. - The Location Hard to find
- Andrei (10/5): Exceptional - My favorite place to stay in Alicante! The host very friendly and easy to communicate with. The house itself is very cute with a lovely terrace upstairs! I'll definitely book it again on my return!
- Denis (8/5): Very good -
- Arnoldas (9/5): Superb -
- Oriana (9/5): Lovely little house with lots of character. - The place was full of quirky character. Loved it. Lots of steps.
- Toni (10/5): Exceptional - love the place, hope its available next time im in alicante, close to everything, fantastic view, and friendöy host cant get any better ❤️
- Gary (1/5): KEEP AWAY !!! If you want a dirty, unkempt property to stay in then this is the place for you !! - Nothing. Extremely disappointed with the property. Despite being in a good location the property itself was very dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned thoroughly for some time. It is in desperate need of a deep clean and a refurbishment. Personal items all over the property, including the owner's clothes in the wardrobe, leaving nowhere to put your own belongings.
We only stayed for 20 minutes and left to find somewhere better, this was not difficult. When I advised the owner we were leaving due to the cleanliness of the property in his words he said "About the cleaning....the only thing I can say is that the house cleaning is always perfect. A place cleaner than my house would be a science laboratory." His idea of clean obviously differs from mine, as the attached pictures show.
- Pippa (7/5): Good - The view from the terrace was a game changer for the property. Had a lovely stay and the location was in a lovely part of the old town.
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb - Super easy and safe. Quiet location and had air conditioning which was a huge bonus!! Great little spot close to everything!
- Jan (10/5): Fantastic - The location, near the parking lot, near the beach, near the center For us it was perfect. Everything you need is there.
- Saber (9/5): Superb - The host is really nice, responsive, and exceptionally helpful. The place is charming and filled with the old city vibes. The stairs can be a problem for some people or kids.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location in a quiet and pretty part of the city, very close to the castle
- Piret (7/5): Everything was as said. I wish I could have stayed longer! But I just had a short sleepover. - Welcoming host and perfect location!
- Sydney (10/5): Eclectic flat w/ terrace steps away from the heart of alicante - Eduardo, the host, was super friendly, communicative, and flexible! Our flight was delayed upon arrival and he could still meet us and show us around the property with no problems. He kindly allowed us to leave our bags with him while we enjoyed our last day in Alicante before flying out and was flexible with our check-out time. The location itself is perfect! We couldn't have been happier. 5-7 minutes and you're in the heart of everything: Beach, old town, bars, and restaurants. The house is in a charming and picturesque area and was very quiet at night and felt super safe. Other reviews complained about the stairs, but we felt like it wasn't as bad as other people made it out to be (but we are also two able-bodied, 20-somethings). The house itself is great! We enjoyed the quirky, eclectic decor, the comfy bed, and the spacious terrace. Overall, we would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends! No complaints!
- Živa (10/5): Exceptional - Its a perfect little house to stay in with your friends! Very artsy, the view from the balcony is amazing and it’s a great spot to chill :)
- Tommi (10/5): Exceptional - Great place, gotta climb some stairs to get there but totally worth it !
- Maureen (5/5): Historic area - We liked the owner who was helpful and friendly. The house was well equipped and had a beautiful roof terrace. It was perfectly located in the charming historic section of the city. Parking was not a problem. This is a potential gold mine but needs a good clean out and decorating. There are several things that need repair and the whole place needs organizing. Not that anything can be done about it but there are approximately 80 steps to walk up.
