Guest Reviews
- Subin (8/5): spacious but room was not ready - Big no amenities - i think there was a miscommunication between the staffs and accidentally gave me unprepared room. Moderate rating because i got a reimbursement and discount offer for next stay
- Jeannette (7/5): Nice experience in a student accommodation - Hotel Laurier was very convenient for us as location. It was close to the places we needed to go to and there was a parking lot behind the building. The apartment was spacious. The WiFi connection was excellent. The living room was airconditioned but not the bedrooms. The beds were a bit uncomfortable. The kitchen was good to look at but no equipment, neither plates, nor cups, nor cutlery. Our car was broken into in the parking lot but nothing was stolen.
- Diep (2/5): Very bad - No breakfast provided Many things
- Tuong (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (5/5): Passable - Each room has bathroom Check in no later than 10pm. No microwave, no toothbrush and toothpaste.
- Susanne (7/5): Good - Great checkin process
Great location
Great size and loved that each room had enduites Extremely uncomfortable beds and couch
Neighbours above us were screaming at each other until 3 am - so badly I considered calling the police as I thought someone was being abused
Furniture ‘scraping’ above as well - periodically until 3 am. Paper thin ceilings
- Maria (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - One of the showers dripped but with the bathroom door closed you didn’t notice.
- Nina (1/5): Spacious but had bed bugs - Spacious Shortly after we arrived, we discovered our apartment had bed bugs. Luckily we got a refund, but I think this is a very serious problem.
- Ks (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerri (6/5): Great value for a night out, but not the most comfortable beds. - Great location, very affordable and great value. Very quiet. It wasn’t very clean, the mattresses were terrible and the blankets provided were so thin we were cold during the night.
- Gayle (9/5): Superb - We liked that everyone had their own room and bathroom as we were competing at the Fergus Highland Games and needed to get up and out early.
Also that there was a kitchen and you could rent a kitchen set so we could make meals. Even though there was a mix up with ours so we could not make as many as we wanted. I did not like the drop off instructions for keys if you leave before 8:00 am. In our building the drop off instructions were impossible the keys did not fit where they said to leave them.
When we took them to the office the inside door was locked so you could not get to the drop box. There was another woman there who was also trying to drop off her keys. We finally got in when someone left the building but they really did not want to let us in until they saw the keys and heard our story.
Trying to return the keys took over 20 minutes meaning we did not beat the crowds to parking in Fergus and we JUST made it to compete in time.
- Jo (9/5): very comfortable and homely - I loved the individual rooms and showers and large space that was afforded to me and my family. It was also very quiet and no outside noise impacted us. Also, it was close to many amenities (shops and resturants) and Waterloo football field. I wished microwave was available so that I can heat up my own cooked food as well as cutler/utentils(throw away paper plates/wood utentils) to use for a short stay.
- Adrian (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (10/5): Central location - The location and price were great. The staff were friendly. It was better than my university dorm room, Not a negative but something to consider. People should make sure their expectations are realistic, since it is a university dorm room and more basic than a hotel.
- James (8/5): Very good - Lots of space suited our family and small child very well. A great value price-wise. We were glad we brought our own coffee maker, cups, glasses, bottle opener, etc. Kitchen has absolutely nothing in it except a working stove and refrigerator. Drawers and cupboards are all empty. That point could be clarified in the property description. Also, we experienced a very slow check-in process as a sports team arrived just before we did and individually checked in.
- Metkel (5/5): Good for students because it's students dorm - Price was good The bed is very small and uncomfortable. Literally, it's students' dorm.
- Gurudas (9/5): Superb - Very Spacious ,central location, quiet nd convenient The wooden floors were sticky, not clean.... probably vaccumed but not mopped.. we had a layer or black coating on our feet within minutes of taking off the shoes
- Anthony (7/5): Good -
- Wing (3/5): Disappointed. - The apartment is spacious. It is quiet. It is convenient There was no light at the sitting room (defective). There was no light at one of the bathrooms (defective). The blanket is thin. Nothing in the kitchen, not even a kettle.
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Location to university. Spacious. Good value Could use extra blanket. No garbage bins in rooms. Garbage bin in kitchen had no bag.
- Anthony (7/5): Good value located in central Waterloo - Close to amenities Rooms dated
- Dushyant (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (8/5): Very good - Very roomy.
- Dinakar (7/5): Good -
- William (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (2/5): Swing and a miss. - The Wifi strength was great and the building was very quiet as it was off season for the student population. Location was really good wrt university related facilities and smaller restaurants. Unfortunately the lack of cleanliness of the apt was unacceptable. The operators need to look at how to maintain the building as a 'hotel' with that service in mind. It seemed the extent of 'cleaning' was adding a roll of toilet paper, changing the bedsheets and laying out 2 towels, 2 little soaps and 2 unwrapped plastic glasses.
- Jian (10/5): It was a nice place to stay. - The location is perfect. Very convenient.
- Roze (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ken (8/5): Hotel came as advertised, a decent, low-cost alternative to more expensive hotels. - Cost. Very spacious. No coffee maker or microwave.
- Yiu (8/5): Very good -
- M (8/5): Very good - The location is very good. The apartment was clean. Like the idea that has multiple room. So everyone can enjoy their room. Most of all charges per night is affordable. There no mirrors in rooms. Could provide a bath mat for the washrooms. There should be a Dropbox to drop the keys. Extra pillows and blankets should be available.
- Wenbo (5/5): Passable -
- Solomon (9/5): Excellent place for a summer stay in Waterloo. - Excellent for the price. Spacious. Practical. Every room has its own shower. Very friendly staff. Great location with easy access to city facilities.
- Andrew (7/5): Good value and location - Proximity to downtown and the University The room was right outside bright street lights which made it challenging to sleep
- Fei (4/5): it’s not worth the money for the poor quality of the experience - it’s not too bad the bedding is uncomfortable
- Dhruv (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sandra (4/5): Disappointing - Location was great. Clean sheets, large apartment Not clean at all. Recognizing it is a student residence, I would still expect cleaner. Toothpaste on bathroom taps. Facial hair from shaving in the sink and counter. Floor not swept. Greasy handprints on wall and sticky kitchen counter. Need a hanger in each closet
- Dushyant (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danielle (7/5): Overall Beds where comfy and the receptionist was super friendly. - Large Space. Hot Showers. Friendly Front Desk Staff. Paying extra for microwave & Kitchen supplies, having to bring your own tv/projector, ants all over our floor.
- Ionut (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zaira (9/5): Superb -
- Jean-philippe (5/5): Passable -
- Harvey (8/5): Very good - comfortable beds, spacious, clean elevator to the garage would have been nice, a more clear explanation about what the codes were for, a kettle or coffee maker should be provided.
- Christine (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kirschner (9/5): Pleasant staff, lovely apartment with kitchen facilities and separate keycoded bedrooms for 3 of us. -
- Gerard (4/5): ok- need better cleaning - central location the room was not clean- Condom in the washroom
- Punjabi (7/5): Good -
- Princessmylow (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (9/5): Superb - Rooms very clean. Check in and out a little awkward since they are not in the same location. As the rooms.
- Savard (9/5): Superb -
- Sharon (6/5): Pleasant -
