• Veronica (8/5): - The place is located in a quiet neighbourhood, location is good and not far from downtown. There are many restaurants close by and business in general. The location was clean. We did not meet the owner. You receive the code on the same day of your arrival close to check-in time. Then, ensure you have data. We travelled from Europe to Canada and were ready to enter the place at 15h30, but we had to wait until 16hrs. Plan your arrival so you do not have to wait like us... nobody wants to do sightseeing with luggage. The place is a house basement that was adapted. Therefore, there are only 2 small windows with some paper blinds that you can't open. The unit had a humidifier, which is located in front of one bed. The humidifier has a bright light and makes a constant noise. At night can be a little uncomfortable for the one sleeping in front of it. The place is ok if you travel with family (younger kids). Otherwise, you do not have privacy. Maybe a screen or curtain could help.. I guess it depends with who are you traveling with. The couch is not suitable for sleeping. Ensure that if you are 4 people, 2 people need to sleep in each bed provided. Otherwise, the sofa/bed is very uncomfortable. Suggestion: to provide glasses to drink water..we had 4 cups, but better to have cups and glasses. Overall ok, but for the same price, we had found places much more comfortable, nicer.

• Zümrüt (5/5): Disappointing stay – uncomfortable and poorly equipped room - Near to city center, location. The extra bed was uncomfortable and squeaky. The floor was uneven, making it hard to walk without losing balance. A dehumidifier was provided due to the high humidity in the room, but it was extremely noisy and I was responsible for emptying the water tank myself. The sofa was of very poor quality and not suitable for sitting. Most importantly, the room was cold and didn’t warm up properly. Even in August, I had to wear the jumper I brought for outdoors *inside* the room. Since the unit is below ground level, there are no windows you can open, and the room gets very little natural light. There’s no ramp for luggage, so carrying suitcases up and down the stairs was physically difficult — it strained my back. While the host responded quickly to my messages, the answers were not actually helpful. Noise from the upper floor — walking and talking — came through clearly, making it feel like someone was inside our room. If the heating and lighting issues had been resolved, I might have rated it more positively. Unfortunately, we only stayed here to sleep and tried to spend as little time as possible in the room.
• Danny (8/5): Enjoyed stay. - Excellent location. It's very roomy and spacious. Spotlessly clean. Safe security. Most kitchen items needed were supplied. Lack of touches, eg There is only 1 bed pillow each. (Very flat) No sofa cushions, so not so comfortable on your back when sitting down. Only 1 mug was provided for tea/coffee. We were 2 people staying and had to get disposable coffee cups. There was no control over when and what temperature air conditioner was. Extremely dirty windows to look out of. Could do with clothes dryer rack or line for small items.
• Johanna (4/5): - This stay was truly difficult to describe. On the one hand, things like key collection and check-in and check-out were very straightforward. Furthermore, the host (or rather, the person who looked after us) was very friendly, responded very quickly to messages, and brought us extra bed linens without any hassle. Unfortunately, on the other hand, the description of the rooms and the rooms we stayed in were very different. Apparently, this host rents out multiple apartments, and the photos on the site are mixed. It's not clear that the photos show multiple apartments, which is why we were very disappointed that the four of us were staying in a one-room apartment in the basement, with no natural light and a very low ceiling. This would have been acceptable for a lower price, but under the circumstances, it was truly very poor value for money. We found it particularly unfortunate that the hosts apparently do not clearly assign the pictures on the website to the different rooms, thus seemingly deceiving the customers. This does not fit at all with the other experiences we had with the hosts - what a shame!

• Siria (1/5): SCAM BEWARE: one listing where one apartment is A HORRIBLE BASEMENT. CHECK BEFORE BOOKING. - Other than the central location, truly nothing, this was a total SCAM. The Booking.com listing starts with first 8 pictures of a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT APARTMENT, then it shows just a couple of the apartment we actually got which is a horrible, horrible basement apartment. Make sure you know which apartment you're getting before actually booking. The good reviews are for the actual decent apartment, but all the bad reviews - like ours - are for the other horrible basement apartment. I hate that this is a misleading listing on Booking.com: there are two apartments, and of course they catch your attention with the good one because the first 8 pictures, but you might get the horrible basement apartment instead. The host should have two separate listings instead of one. This is very misleading.

• Kaye (4/5): Good location, cheap, but poorly furnished and soundproofed. - Good location, right by several streetcars and of course Trinity Bellwood park. The owner is responsive. Missing a lot of little things that a suite should have (frying pan, hand towel in the bathroom, proper towel rack of any kind in the bathroom, toilet paper holder), which if not directly inconvenient is at least unsightly. The sound-proofing to neighbouring units (aka other parts of the segmented house) is very weak (it kept sounding like other people were right in our suite, and conversations were almost completely followable.) Also, the shower handle was broken (which I was informed of in the morning before arriving and told it had been glued and had to set for 8hrs (but could be used in the interim) but immediately busted again when used (well over 24hrs later—the glue was a clear bandaid solution). We could still winch the shower on with the detached handle but it wasn’t ideal.

Upstairs neighbors were a bit noisy, but it happens. That didn't deter from us enjoying our stay. We definitely plan to return next year if the opportunity presents itself!

Mais il ne mentionne pas que c'est une cave en sous sol aménagée en appartement. Donc humide malgré la ventilation et un humidificateur qui font énormément de bruit. Isolation inexistante. On entend les locataires au dessus quand ils parlent et marchent. Ne vaut pas le prix annoncé pour une cave.

The cleaners did not do a good job of cleaning the kitchen. Surfaces were dirty. The other part of the apartment were clean. The utensils and facilities in the kitchen could be better organized so that we can find things where they belong. The kitchen was not conducive to cooking.

• Caitlyn (7/5): Great location and a good amount of space for two travellers. Pictures do vary from the property. - Great location, a little bit out of the hustle and bustle of the city, but still within walking distance to everything. It was a great addition to have access to a full sized fridge, hot plate, and kettle - we wouldn't have gotten this at a hotel. The hosts were easy to communicate with and had provided a booklet with information about the city as well as the property. Good connectivity with the wifi, and the tv was hooked up with a netflix subscription which was a bonus for nights indoors. The pictures did not entirely match the room we stayed in. We still had enough space and beds for our trip but it was a little deceiving online - I think the property potentially rents out each level separately but has all property photos on a single listing. We were on the basement level which required us to go under a front stairwell, guests should be aware that it's quite tight and ceilings are on the lower side, so just a note of caution to taller people. A bit of noise coming from the floors above but nothing that wasn't manageable.

La description correspond parfaitement au logement, même si ce n'est pas très clair qu'on est en demi sous-sol. La salle de bains était plus grande que ce à quoi je m'attendais, les lits confortables (suffisamment fermes et oreillers très bien). Il y a de la place pour ranger ses affaires si l'on reste plusieurs jours ce qui est agréable, et plusieurs crochets dans les chambres pour suspendre vestes / serviettes ... Il manquait de petites choses (ustensiles/1 assiette cassée) qui nous ont été apporté, notre hôte étant particulièrement réactif par message, c'était très très apprécié. Il a même pu nous régler la température un peu fraiche du fait du demi-sous-sol. très petits points négatifs (plus pour se préparer) : la table pour manger un peu petite si vous êtes vraiment 4 puisqu'il y a 2 tabourets, et une chaise, et la dernière personne doit s'asseoir sur le canapé en utilisant les coussins pour être à la bonne hauteur. Mais on était confortable pour jouer aux cartes le soir, donc ça fonctionnait. Je conseille d'apporter des chaussons ou chaussures d'intérieur pour un meilleur confort personnel
• Philipp (5/5): Die wohnung ok aber nicht zum verweilen geeignet, schlafen essen lernen konnte ich auch in ruhe. - Die Lage war ganz gut alles gut erreichbar. Sie war zu niedrig max. 1,90m. Keine Speisemesser. Geschirr war nicht alles sauber. Begrenztes licht beim bett kein lichtschalter oder kleine lampe sowie kein nachttisch beim bett. Erste tage waren sehr kalt, da wohnung im Keller und nur 3 kleine fenster, kann im sommer ein vorteil sein.

Staff responded to any inquires incredibly quickly, within 5 minutes! I am unsure if there are other units or apartments located at the same address, when I was looking at all the photos it seemed great but in reality most of those pictures were inaccurate. The photos don't specify what you'll actually be getting. For example, out of all the almost 100 photos listed only photos number 33, 35, 36, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46 and 49 were accurate to the apartment we booked. I'd suggest other bookers to inquire about which apartment you'll actually be getting... The entrance to the apartment was very short, which is okay but the ceiling in the unit was also very low. Okay for me but my boyfriend who is 6'3" found it claustrophobic as his hair was brushing the ceiling. The couch was not comfortable and seemed very frail like it couldn't support your weight you could feel the springs, there was a used toothbrush at the top of the shower, dirty flip flops still in there, there was no handsoap located in the bathroom, a tissue box with 2 tissues remaining and no replacements... Very bare, no pictures on the walls like in the photos, there's a small wood shelf by the bed that can barely hold 2 phones without falling off. The ceiling was so low that along the height changes there are like silicone cushion things attached to protect your head. One of which was falling off when we entered the unit and kept trying to re stick up there. All in all just did not expectations, I would have preferred to pay $100+ extra and booked someone where else.
• Liezl (8/5): - I had the whole apartment for myself as a solo traveler, 2 bedrooms, a private bathroom and a kitchenette. It was very clean and spacious. The location is 2 min walk from the streetcars. Area feels safe to walk around in. The 7/11 is a 2 min walk, coffee roaster 2 min walk. Value for money! Will certainly stay there again. Great location in terms of accessible to almost anywhere. Owner is very responsive! Thank you for that. Kensington Market is walkable and has great food. The shower had all amenities needed and towels provided. VALUE FOR MONEY! You cant go wrong staying here. Its not that I didn't like these things, its things to be aware of. The address given by owner is 163 and thats what you book but you are only given instructions at 16:00 sharp and your address changes to number 161.. side door. Depending which apartment you booked. Code given seems to never work first time, it happened to me and from reviews it happens to almost all customers. Very steep step down to basement apartment and the light comes on a bit to late for you to see where you must be. Noise travels through the vents, normal levels but be aware of them before you book. Smell also travels through the vents, had a burnt garlic smell the second night, i did not use the kitchenette... the beds are super hard, the couch is super hard. There were stains on some of the towels but I just didn't use them. Going outside using the stairs you are in darkness until your hand touches the outside door doorknob.
• Joseph (7/5): Overall, I think it’s good for a short stay. - It was very spacious and everything was maintained well. The owners were quick to help in case of trouble and were always pleasant. Had a little issue with getting locked out a few times but I always found them quick to respond. I had trouble sleeping quite a few nights. I’m a light sleeper and was easily woken up by people walking/running upstairs or people talking ! Noise carries quite a bit. I even had someone knocking on my wall because they could over hear me speaking and they were trying to sleep, so I was at fault too. And the AC unit is quite loud and can’t be adjusted down for the noise which is understandable as they have a central heating system for the entire property. I had trouble the first night using the shower but it was easily fixed as I didn’t know I needed to press the little button on the shower handle after turning the main pipe on, to get the water to flow out of the shower handle. But the water pressure was amazing !!
• Vilches (4/5): Uncomfortable for a family of four people and not what we thought we had booked. - Location was good and the hosts were quick to respond when help was needed, e.g. problems with Wi Fi, door lock, kitchenette. We booked the apartment, 161 Manning street, which was confirmed in the booking confirmation email and in the receipt. We later received and email stating that 'Please note, the Address is 163 Manning Ave (not 161)'. Presumably this is an honest mistake but it should be more clear. We didn't give too much thought to this but on arrival we found that we had a basement apartment instead of the apartment that we thought we had booked. The apartment did not look like the advertised photos. The bedrooms did have windows but one of them admits no light as it is under a terrace. The living room is a corridor with sofa bed for three on one side and television on the other. Not adequate for four people to sit comfortably. The bathroom and toilet open directly into the living, kitchen and dining area. The dining table is not accessible for use as it is squeezed into a corner between two walls and the sofa bed. In conclusion, this wasn't what we thought we had booked and it isn't adequate for a family of four for a week. This apartment is ok if you want to sleep here and will be out on the town for the rest of the time.

• Jinil (9/5): - 일단 생각이상으로 넓어서 혼자쓰기 아까울정도입니다. 버리는 공간이 많아서 아쉬웠지만 그만큼 쾌적했어요. 청결하고 호스트 피드백이 빨라 문제사항들을 즉각 조치해주는 점도 좋았습니다. 트램이랑 1-2분 거리라서 어디 나가기 위치도 나쁘지않습니다. 화장실 혼자 쓰는 것도 굿 바닥에 공조장치가 있는데 그게 수시로 돌아서 소음을 유발합니다

• Tyler (10/5): Ideal space for short stay on quiet street downtown TO. - Great location. Spacious property . Comfy bed. Responsive and attentive host was quick to reply to all messages. It would have been ideal to have a stovetop or mini stove. Access to Temperature control would be ideal (also the air flow vents were purposely and permanently closed so all heat was routed to the upstairs unit). In Canadian winter it’s crucial guests can stay warm at night when temp drops. Additional Shelving or wardrobe would help guests organize belongings or hang clothes / towels etc.

• Alexandra (6/5): - Die Unterkunft war gut ausgestattet. Es gab alles was man brauchte. Der Zugang war doppelt gesichert, somit war die Unterkunft sehr sicher und für Dritte nicht zugänglich. Bei der Ankunft haben wir einen PIN zum Öffnen der Tür bekommen. Dieser war falsch. Glücklicherweise hat der Vermieter schnell geantwortet und den Code von der Ferne aktualisiert. Wären wir später in der Nacht gekommen, hätten wir bestimmt eine Zeit in der Kälte gestanden. Die Lüftung war sehr laut. Alle 30 Minuten ist die Lüftung für ein paar Minuten angegangen und es war sehr sehr laut. Die Lüftungsschächte waren direkt neben dem Bett und sahen aus wie Kanalgitter. Auf den Bildern sind sie mit Teppichen verdeckt… Die Temperatur im Apartment war sehr warm, 22-23 Grad, leider konnte man es aber nicht ändern, da die Anzeige verschlüsselt wurde. Neben dem Apartment ist ein anderes Apartment, der Vermieter kann hierfür nichts aber wir sind aufgewacht als die Nachbarn heimgekommen sind, da das Haus so hellhörig ist. Das Bett war sehr klein, für Pärchen okay aber für Freunde etwas zu eng. Die Bettwäsche hatte leider ausgeblichene Flecken.
