Guest Reviews
- Morag (8/5): Great location, comfy bed! - Amazing location - so easy to walk everywhere in downtown Victoria. The set up of the room was gorgeous (although the seats could have been more comfy in the lounge). Bed was very comfy, everything was lovely and clean. We had an issue with the door code but someone arrived to help us really quickly and was super helpful. Would recommend staying here.
- Ana (8/5): Very good - The place was perfect, had everything we needed, comfy bed, nice washroom and kitchen The street was very noisy at night so sleeping was hard
- Florizza (9/5): Excellent location and amenities - The place was so accessible, near to the restaurants and bus stop. I loved their toiletries and the ambience The washer and dryer, it might be because we chose the wrong setting that our clothes didnt dry and it was soaking wet when we checked out.
- Genesis (8/5): Pleasant stay! - Great location and safe building, close to everything. The AC is noisy when it’s on, luckily we have a fan. For bedding, the bed is nice, but the pillows are lumpy.
- Jessie (8/5): Very good - Location. Theme. Comfortable bed. Couches are not comfortable.
- Colman-black (10/5): Excellent!!! - Great Location
Walking distance to anywhere you want to go.
All within 30 minutes.
Very nice Chinese theme - good space. The living room couch was too small for two adults to watch movies . Too small.
Shower could be stronger as poor water flow.
- Narelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachaal (5/5): I won’t stay here again - The area is so loud they provide earplugs and a white noise machine, which is considerate. When renting they make you sign an independent lease with a damage deposit. The lease I signed said $100. They charged my card $500. When I inquired they blamed it on Booking. It wasn’t booking, it was on their lease. Pointing it out I got an email response with no responsibility taken.
They did return the deposit in whole.
The apartment is very uncomfortable. The living room has too many pieces of furniture and none are comfortable to sit in. It’s supposed to be traditional Chinese style but they just mushed a bunch of stuff bought in Chinatown into the room without any understanding of cultural relevance or actual sensitivity. In an effort to be culturally aware they come off quite the opposite.
Oh, and they gave us the wrong gate key code and had to be let in by a fellow tenant.
- Jennifer (4/5): Noisy, Hot and Uncomfortable. - On the positive side, the location is close to a lot of the shops and restaurants, the bed was very comfortable, and the apartment was well-supplied for the weekend. I appreciated that it was pet-friendly. I stayed in room 302, the "Chinatown Quarters" for four nights in the summer. I would caution against staying here because the noise from the clubs down the street and people walking through the ally was very loud throughout the night. The ally echos and amplifies the noise. In addition, on really hot nights the AC in the unit does not work very well and is extremely loud. Even with ear plugs it was hard to sleep. Without the AC on the room was at 78 degrees because there was no cross breeze. My friends who stayed in the West Coast Loft on the 4th floor facing the other side had a very different experience without noise or heat issues. As a Chinese American, I also found the decor to be over the top and culturally appropriative. It is one thing to honor the Chinese Canadian heritage and another to use it to decorate a hotel room without deep cultural understanding. This is definitely an airbnb, not a hotel. When I brought my issues up to the owners, they took more than 24 hours to respond the first time and then not at all the second time.
- Dan (9/5): Easy to book. Prompt , efficient and helpful communication with the property owners. Very comfortabl - Proximity to downtown Victoria and harbour.
