Guest Reviews
- Rufia (7/5): A cute cottage high up in the trees. - Location was beautiful, we felt like we were up amongst the trees, isolated without being too far from the local towns and cafes. The house itself was very beautiful and quaint, with clear focus given to all the little details and furnishings. Some essentials were missing, including kitchen items and cooking supplies. My husband needed to drive 40 minutes round trip to the local shops as we hadn't thought to pack the things we believed the venue to have.
It was also quite hot that weekend and would have benefited from a fan. We needed to keep the windows open, which invited lots of creepy crawlies, but lucky there was bug spray!
- katie (1/5): Upset about our overall experience and lack of courtesy from the owners regarding any refund or further discussion. - Uninhabitable and Filthy – Refund Warranted
We paid approximately $2,000 for a 3-night stay and left after less than 12 hours due to the appalling condition of this property.
The accommodation was extremely dirty: mould on and around the fridge and floor, dead flies inside the fridge, food and coffee stains on drawers, cobwebs throughout, and floors that had clearly not been cleaned. The bed was thick with dust — we had to sleep on our beach towels and left by 9am because the conditions were unbearable.
The bathroom was equally unacceptable. The shower was stained and full of cobwebs with dead millipedes present. The bath contained both dead and live insects. Towels and robes were dirty and unusable. There were no fans or air conditioning, making the space stuffy on top of the filth.
We were forced to book alternative accommodation at an additional cost of over $600. The property refused a refund. Booking.com provided a $300 courtesy credit, which is wholly inadequate.
This property was not fit for purpose or as advertised. A full refund is warranted.
We are two women who travelled from Perth to Adelaide specifically to stay here for New Year’s and were beyond devastated by this experience. Happy to attach more photos and videos if required.
- Aaron (10/5): Lovely renovated cottage on the top of a hill overlooking a beautiful valley -
- Mike (5/5): Great location, poor property - Location was perfect for our needs Very cold, no electric heater provided. Towels wouldn't dry, no new ones provided, nowhere to dry the wet ones. Lighter for log fire didn't work.
- Karen (8/5): We will stay here again - The seclusion and the feel of a wonderful stone cottage. We were unable to get fire started. The wood wouldn’t burn.
Maybe better wood and fire lighters could help.
- Alessio (9/5): Beautiful heritage couples retreat in nature - Beautiful rustic cottage with the right amount of space for a couples retreat, amazing spot to be immersed in nature No blinds! Only sheer curtains. This might be part of the ‘nature’ experience, but it would be good to note this in the description as you are awake with the sunrise.
Also would be handy to have an axe to split firewood, and a little more kindling to help start things. (It was wet so couldn’t collect!)

- Cindy (10/5): Exceptional - What a beautiful little hide away! Toastie and warm in winter. So cosy! We'd definitely stay again. Nothing we didn't like. Only suggestion would be a bigger electric Fry pan so a couple can cook both meals at the same time. Perhaps a nice local bottle of wine on arrival.
But really only if you're being picky. It's a gorgeous little spot and we absolutely loved our stay. Thank you! :)
- Alicia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angie (10/5): Wasn’t long enough 😂 - Beautiful setting Oak nuts dropping on roof 😂
- Amy (9/5): Peaceful stay - Absolutely stunning view & very peaceful. The house was lovely & comfortable. Close to beautiful small towns and cafes in the hills.

- Amanda (9/5): Great place to stay and have some peaceful down time with loved ones - This is the second time we have stayed at this location and we love how peaceful and clean this place is.
- Melina (9/5): Lovely stay for our mini honeymoon - Beautiful location, very picturesque and tranquil. Enjoyed doing the puzzle and just relaxing with a book. Our dog loved it too. A couple more amenities would be nice eg tissue box, vegetable peeler. Also watch out for the bees!
- Andrew (10/5): It was a beautiful place to stay very warm and welcoming and amazing view’s - The view and the neatness of the house
- Jj (10/5): excellent stay - one of the most comfortable and beautiful cottage ever. if there's anything to complain about then it would be the fireplace being a. bit hard to light up.
- Mary (10/5): perfect private escape - Beautifully appointed stone cottage. Lovely, quiet surroundings including English style garden and Angus cattle.
Very comfortable bed and linen. Cosy fire with plenty of firewood.
Perfect Escape (no tv) 2 person spa bath. Delightful views through the many windows.
Would have loved to have stayed longer.
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Matthew (9/5): Perfect place for a quiet couple of days away. - Beautiful location. Wonderful seclusion for a private couple of days. We arrived in the dark and at first couldn't see the cottage, Once we turned around we could see it. A couple more signs would be helpful.
