Guest Reviews
- Chan Hoe (5/5): Near to CIQ, food and noise - Near to CIQ and food In a noisy street, loud music from nearby restaurants that kept me up all night. I am a light sleeper.
- Tay Ching En (10/5): Superb Hotel Location at Johor Bahru City Centre - Location is at city centre. Many eateries nearby. Air conditioning is cold. Noisy back alley, as people are having conversations. Hot water shower needs to turn on and off manually to prevent bathing in boiling water. Electrical white noise is suspected to be coming from miniature circuit breaker (MCB).

- zool (3/5): Can be better - The location. The prison style room.. i pay $200rm..

- Kah Wai (7/5): Decent affordable option at Jalan Meldrum. - Location is good, near City Square and right behind Kam Long Curry Fish Head. Affordable price, good value. Area around the hotel is a bit messy, may not be suitable for families. Can hear loud music from the streets late into the night.
- Noorhayati (8/5): -
- Sithira Thevi (5/5): - Hotel was good but the area seems to be a bit unsafe The location
No windows
Heater wasn't working
- Gunalan (6/5): Just normal - The toilet water stuck. Flooding on the floor. Ensure no water stuck
- SINGH (9/5): - Everything ok Worth it
- Mohamad Fazillilah (4/5): Seem that not welcome and no local channel - Aroung the areas and near to CIQ. Check in at 1300 still have to pay $20 RM

- Ehsan (7/5): quite nice - everything nil
- Ruby Phan (6/5): -
- Cheng (8/5): A very comfortable stay . Bedding and air con is good in our room. Wish room is sound proof. - Walking distance to City Square, Kam Long Fish Head Curry & Ya Wang duck rice Not convenient as a family stay hotel . For men or couple and don’t mind Ah Fook Street only.

- Edah (5/5): 1 day trip - I like the Aircon the bed the pillow. There's no long mirror for me to dress up. No utensils to mix my coffee No flusk for me to make hot coffee. I need to go out to take hot water. The coke water is not even cold.
- Mathew (4/5): - Location was great for access straight to the station. The bedroom was very outdated. The hot water didn’t work so it was cold showers and the water didn’t run away so the bathroom stayed like a pool of water.
- Saridah (8/5): - The room and aircon is good. Good location to explore the area. Lots of food to try. The toilet is fairly clean
- XICHUN (8/5): nice - 位置不错,酒店也很好 需要高押金
- Magathevan (4/5): - Good Good 😊

- Rahim (1/5): Unprofessional etiquette of a front office personal - None... The room given was not the one that I had booked online at first. Upon asking about the matter, the front office staff told me that the room is not ready. He still got the cheek to ask me to wait for the next day to transfer me to the room that I had booked online. I argued with him, and he told me that he would ask the housekeeping staffs to clean it as soon as possible and to check back with him at 5pm (bear in mind that check-in time was 3pm). At 5pm, he told me that the room was still not ready and to check back in half and hours time. Hour hour later, still the same answer. Check back at 6pm, he still asked me to give them another half hour or so. At about 0630pm, together with my wife, we went down to the lobby. Upon seeing us, he immediately handed us another card to another room and said that the room was ready. He never apologised for the delays and never even compensated us for all the time that was being wasted waiting for the room to be made available to us. I will never book online at this hotel ever again. To those who plan to stay at this hotel, be prepared to be disappointed at the services given. Will be totally in for quite a shock.
- Su (5/5): -
- nuruljannah (5/5): - The people there ok The place was ghetto and loud at night
- Ryan (7/5): Not Cheap, but given it was an Emergency, it was good enough for a Decent Comfortable 1 Night Stay. - This was an Emergency Hostel I had to go book to rest for the Night because of an E-Gate Issue on 18-July-2025 where it would be at least a 2 Hours Minimum Queue to go back to Singapore. It was 10.30pm that time and the fact that I hate to Queue, I figured I might as well just find a Place to have a Comfortable Rest instead of being Frustrated.
- Location was relatively Near to JB Kastam. Its located at Jalan Meldrum
- Location had plenty of Food Places during Late Night
- The Hostel was Modern, Cleanly Maintained with a Very Pleasing Welcoming Front Desk
- The Friendly Young Indian Chap at Front Desk that Night had a Jolly Smile that took alot of Heat off the Stress I had.
- Check in was relatively Painless (Although there was an Issue that I didn't like which I will describe under Negatives)
- This Hostel has Lift Access. No need to climb staircase
- Windowless Room, but it was Nicely Maintained as you can see in the Photos.
- I appreciate they even took the effort to prop up the 2 Towel Rolls on the Bed which was Adorable for a Hostel like this.
- Toilet was working well with Hot Shower, Working Toilet and Working Toilet Bidet
- Aircon was working well and was Very Cold. (Protip: 17C is Very Cold. I would recommend to set to 19C or 20C)
- Although there are no Water Cooler, I appreciate the 2 Free Small Bottles of Drinkable Water provided.
- Smooth and Fast Free WIFI available
- Comfortable Sleep on the Bed, no issues with Bed Quality - Even though I have fully paid for everything online via Booking.com, I still had to pay a RM50 Cash Deposit. Now I'm ok with paying for this, but the main issue is ONLY CASH IS ACCEPTED. They have no Card Options whatsoever. There was completely NO WORKAROUND. Being that this was an Emergency Situation I was in, I was lucky I had the Spare Cash. Had I not have Cash on Hand it might have been more frustrating.
- The Walls of the Hostel are thin. Not very soundproof, you can still hear sounds outside your room. For Light Sleepers who are easily awakened by any Sounds, you might need to take note of this.
- Fi (2/5): Very poor - Near to lots of restaurant. Toilet clean, strong aircond. Front desk staff friendly. Room not soundproof. You can hear people talk outside and next to your room. People shut door loudly. Room next to me watch tv with full volume until 0100H. I cannot sleep well. Bedsheets seem like not clean.
- Victor (8/5): Good - Nearby many eateries Nil
- Daniel (8/5): Comfortable family room. - The room is clean and comfortable. As I know, the hotel is newly renovated. Hope they'll be able to maintain the standards. Overall, a good experience and will return again. Quick response and solving minor issues. Staffs and owner are friendly. The hotel location is very convenient, won't get hungry with all the food choices available and within walking distance. The room I stayed in, seems the hot water shower is faulty and unable to adjust the temperature properly.
- Srivatsan (8/5): Very good -
- Girinath (4/5): Disappointing -
- Kartini (6/5): Pleasant - I like the toilet very clean No iron, toilet flooded, towel unclean
- Hon (3/5): Poor Sound Proof & Foul Smell - Those crazy loud spoken Indian tenants stayed in the hotel kept banging the door and called the reception desk to intercept, nothing much can be done as the sound proof is very bad. Foul smell emits out from the toilet...
- Naidu (7/5): Good -
- Noor (4/5): Good location...only good location - The location. Near JBCC and Bazaar Karat. Room is clean. Very noisy till 3am. Toilet door no door knob. Cannot close properly. Pillow and mattress too hard. Need to pay/subscribe to watch tv??. No housekeeping. Linen have stains.
- Ruby (7/5): Good -
- Lagang (7/5): Great experience.. - it's really located at inner city, easy to move around anytime anyway,. no comment
- Albay (8/5): Very good - Love it because its convenient to walk around and for food.
The roon is good and its quite
- Samharis (5/5): Passable -
- Luis (7/5): Good location and you get what you pay for - Close enough to the station, 8 minutes if you ignore google maps and use the stairs instead. Very austere but for a quick rest was ok.
- Khine (7/5): Good -
- Jayson (5/5): Passable - It was a short trip for my family. I booked a family room with a sofa . But sad to say we didn't find any sofa . Instead one small monoblock chair. We requested for a table but no table provided. I insisted atleast an additional chair. No toiletries were provided unless you requested it. The bedsheets were all dirty . The room and hallways smell like cigarettes.
- Albay (7/5): Good - Love the room and it very easy to find ♥️ I love it because a around the area you can find food and its close to City Sqaure Mall
- Yau (6/5): Unpleasant check-in process - We booked the room for 5 pax, but was issued a room with only 2 deoble bed, missing the sofa bed. Upon request, we have a room change. New room comes with the sofa bed, but no bedsheet / pillow / blanket given. Again we have to request. The registration process, the room change and the mis-matched arrangement.
- Johnny (3/5): Have fun playing floor is lava. - Good location, good price. But nothing else positive after that as the room was obviously not cleaned thoroughly. Floor was oily and obviously unwashed. It was sticky from no-idea-how-many-months of non-cleaning. Basically played "floor is lava" for the entire 2 days as it was that disgusting. Room was not tidied (no option to make the room) daily. Room card was deactivated after 1 day (we stayed for 2).
Instant water heater was plugged in to the power plug RIGHT BESIDE which was pretty terrifying every time we bathed as we had to make sure that water does not splash on the power plug.
- Adeline (9/5): Superb - The hotel is walking distance from City Square and value for money. The TV had Netflix and the beds were comfortable. There were also water dispensers on selected floors. The hotel had a mamak below which can be quite noisy till 2,3am.
- Tan (9/5): Superb -
- Tan (9/5): ] - Overall I feel very comfortable staying at this hotel.
- Saridah (7/5): Good - Staff polite. Location is gd because we were travelling that area. Walking distance from CIQ. Hotel is clean.
- Singh (9/5): Superb - Keep it up
- Muhammad (7/5): Good -
- Arkar (7/5): Good -
- Tan (9/5): Superb - surrounding Nothing
- Tan (8/5): Excellent - Convenient The table. Should be bigger and lower
- Tan (9/5): Better there is a table - Overall The table a bit high
- Jaak (8/5): Great location, okay room - The location was good, and it was very close to the JB Sentral station for our day trip to Singapore. Coffee and snacks were provided in the room, and toiletries were available for free at the reception. There was a water machine in the corridor. The room had a strange damp smell when the AC had not been on (bad ventilation); when we turned the AC on, the smell disappeared.
- Hui (8/5): Very good -
- Hui (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lagang (10/5): Exceptional -
- Royston (9/5): Good - Overall I don't have a proper table to write. The long table is a bit too high.
- Hossain (7/5): Ok - Good Good

- Ronald (8/5): Very good -

- Madeline (5/5): Passable -
- Hong (7/5): good - -clean and looks new.
-The instant hot water is impressive. Hot water in a few seconds even with a strong water spray, though it is a little hot at the minimum setting.
-There is a smart tv to use own video streaming.
-Near to city square/jbcc malls.
-many eateries/provisions shops/convenience stores around -There is a musty smell even when exhaust fan is on for some time. Not sure where is it coming from.
Only notices it when entering the room.
-Power outlet only below the tv - there is no bed side power outlet.
