- D6576NTjackb (10/5): Ureal Customer service!! - After our fishing Charter We came back with some of our catch, we asked if we could have one of the wonderful restaurants cook or catch without a thought The front desk contacted the Restaurant Manager Christian who sent us to the wonderful waiter Shonam Who delivered our Tuna to the Chief Arvind. We went to are Villa to shower returned an hour later to a wonderful meal Some of the best customer service we have ever had!!!
Thank You! Christian, Arvind, and Shonam
- Bunnycookies (2/5): "Lost" and Found - Experience was decent. Rooms are on the opposite side of the resort away from the ocean. Food was decent, but we ate offsite mostly. I accidentally left my toiletry bag behind with expensive jewelry in it underneath the bathroom sink and no one has "found" it, which surprised me tremendously. I have been a hilton diamond member for 7 years and any item I have ever lost has always been "found" during any stay. Sad to say, we won't be returning and have escalated with the Hilton brand.
- W363DCpatrickb (10/5): Great location! - Beautiful location with multiple options for dining and cocktails. Bring your water shoes, as there is no sandy beach, but fantastic snorkeling right off the coral/rocky beach. Or just off the pier into the crystal clear waters. Colorful fish and sea turtles everywhere, right off the beach. Restaurant staff at the Delphins restaurant is awesome, and the bartender, Shon is a wealth of knowledge on what to do and where to go on the island. This is a definite place to stay. Quiet, laid back, but elegant. Priced perfect!
- BKandSK (10/5): Beautiful resort, great service - We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Delfins. The service was great from the moment we checked in. The landscaping and pool are beautiful. The beach area is nice although not a swimming beach due to the landscape. The resort is very secure. The restaurants were good. Best to have a car since there’s not a lot within walking distance.
- markwS4051DV (10/5): Great Vacation - Another great stay. Staff was awesome. Property clean. Resort restaurants good. Definitely will be back. Snorkeling in front of resort great.
- nickb182 (6/5): Beautiful location, water access was fantastic and great for snorkeling. Room and service left much to be desired. - Great location and ease of getting in and out of the water. Food was decent, however portions were half of restaurants nearby. Drinks were terrible. Asked for a rum and coke, got a vodka and coke. My wife ordered a daiquiri and friend ordered a margarita, but got half a wine glass with sour-mix and vodka in it. No ice. Bartenders lacked knowledge and there was limited variety in beverages. The prices on drinks were incredibly high considering the liquors used included stoli and captain morgan.
The room was a nice suite. However, in my room, there was only two small clear glass doors separating the toilet from the bed, which didn’t go to the top of the door frame, and left a gap. Therefore, I would be able to see my spouse in bed clearly while sitting on the toilet. While not a big problem at the beginning of the week, by the third day we began to have to time bathroom trips so as to not wake each other up or have any privacy with while using the toilet.
- Amanda536 (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing resort - Beautiful resort with a gorgeous private beach. The snorkeling right off the beach was incredible, even got to see a turtle swim by. Great staff, very attentive. Close to the airport. Can’t wait to go back.
- S3069EHclaram (4/5): Over promising, under delivering - Wanted to love it here.
Positives- friendly staff, gorgeous pools, well kept grounds and good parking
Negatives- renovated our room type to take out the kitchenette, but only gave us 2 weeks notice and offered the free breakfast rather than a price adjustment. We were there for our honeymoon, and splurged for an Ocean View. described: "the sun setting into the sea, a pelican plunging into the water ... maybe a group of dolphins playing in the ocean. You can see all this and more." Well, I would have needed a telescope to see any of that, and probably still would have failed as our view was of palm trees and the pool. If you went to the corner of the balcony you could see a sliver of ocean, but this was not any ocean view. We stayed 3 days. Only received water one day. No creamer or sugar replaced for coffee on any day. Dirty cups and trash left. Sponge and cleaning supplies left in our bathroom. Lastly the ac is set up to blow directly on the bed, which had no blankets. So temperature options were muggy and sweaty or freezing. We ended up using beach towels as blankets. For what you pay, yes the public areas are super nice, but the rooms, the care for guests, and the housekeeping were sadly terrible.
- N1192NCtimr (8/5): Beautiful resort in a special place - Delfins Residences resort is very conveniently located about 10 minute drive to the airport and a 15 minute drive to the shops, marinas, and restaurants in Kralendijk.
Our 4 bedroom/3 bath premium villa with its own private pool was very nice. Beds were super comfortable though a thicker blanket would have been appreciated. It was great having a kitchen so that you could make some meals in. The patio furniture was comfortable, and garden was beautifully landscaped. On site parking was free and super convenient for your rental car.
Only minor complaint was that the room lighting was dark bc of amber bulbs, and not conducive to actually seeing.
We visited every restaurant except the Brass Boer, and they were all good. It was a treat to watch American football playoffs at the restaurant in front of the exercise room.
The Delfins grounds were lovely w mature landscaping an expansive stretch of beach w plenty of complimentary chairs to lounge in the shade or sun.
Pools were very nice and cleaned regularly. Towels were provided and easily changed out.
Pool and beachside service was great though they strangely lacked the ability to charge to your room.
I was great that checkout was at noon bc most flights to US left in the late afternoon.
All great.
Now onto the sole reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5: Both my confirmation email and a December email from Marsha at the front desk indicated that my cc would be charged for the full amount due 7 days prior to arrival.
It was not charged. So I emailed the front desk. Got a message back saying that it wasn’t monitored on weekends.
So I figured I would be charged on Monday. I was not. So I tried calling only to discover that their toll-free US phone number was out of service.
My 3 attempts to call the international Bonaire line was so full of static that I couldn’t hear a single word, so I had to hang up on them. I tried leaving a voicemail but their mailbox was full. And 2 WhatsApp chat attempts on 2 different days remained unanswered.
I finally resorted to Facebook, which miraculously resulted in almost immediate responses from 4 different people.
I’ve traveled in hotels and VRBOs all over the world and have never experienced the communication black hole that was the Delfins Resort. I actually wondered if they’d gone out of business. Absolutely inexcusable.
It was also a tad infuriating to get a text from a new front desk manager, who assured me that all was well, as it was their practice to charge guests at check in.
Well, if that’s the case, the confirmation email should be changed immediately so that future guests don’t panic like me. Not a great first impression.
Ok. To end on a good note. This was my first visit to Bonaire. It was a rustically beautiful island that I ended up preferring to its more crowded sister island of Aruba. It could get very hot if it weren’t for the constant trade winds that kept you comfortable and kept the mosquitos at bay. I’d happily return to both the island and to Delfins.
But you need to work on your communication.
- A_Magri41 (8/5): Stop looking and just stay here! - We really enjoyed our stay at Delfins Beach Resort. The property is stunning with a lot of greenery and wildlife around. The pools were nice and the beach was excellent. We were always able to find chairs and the resort did not seem like it was packed with other guests. Rooms were in good condition and well serviced by housekeeping. Staff was very nice all around. The only thing I found underwhelming was the restaurants on site. They were very expensive with few offerings and small quantities of food. Lots of nearby restaurants though as town is only a 6 minute drive away.
- 400cjb (10/5): Amazing couples getaway! - Delfins is THE place to stay on Bonaire! We booked a rate that included breakfast and a Suzuki Jimney 4WD to get around the island - and this is an island you HAVE to explore. The staff at Delfins are attentive, the food and drink options are both reasonably priced and delicious. The resort is kept pristine, and includes membership during your stay to the island’s premier gym - Dreamz Fitness. The pier is a great place to jump in for snorkeling. The sea life here is incredible and diverse - turtles, eels, octopus, and every type of fish you can imagine. The beach and pool areas are GORGEOUS. We’ll be back for sure!
- marinel393 (10/5): Great Hotel with own beach!!! - It is our first time in Bonaire! We really enjoyed our stay at Delfins by Hilton. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were always kind and helpful. Special thank you goes to Stan, who made us feel VIP.
The hotel has own beautiful beach, so you can snorkel whenever you want. This property has 2 good sized pools with warm water. We absolutely love it and would happily come back.
Recommendation: book room with car rental and breakfast. It saves you time and money.
- 578maratd (10/5): Very good vacation. - It is our first time in Bonaire! We really enjoyed our stay at Delfins by Hilton. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were always kind and helpful. The hotel has own beach, so you can snorkel whenever you want. This property has 2 good sized pools with warm water. We’d happily come back. The service was very gооd, but a special thank you to manager Stan, who always went out of his way to accommodate us, а true example of customer service.
We visited many beaches on the island and visited the park.
- HB121212 (6/5): Ok - This was a fine hotel, but had its flaws.
The beds were super firm and just had a sheet and an extremely thin blanket.
Room wasn’t great. The bathroom felt dated, and didn’t have AC. There was a mini split in the main room for air conditioning but it blew pretty hard on the bed at night, with the poor blanket system.
Cleaning was on the bad side. The only day that our fridge was stoked with the 2 complimentary water bottles you are supposed to get each day was the second day, and never again. We ran out of soap on the 2nd day and this was also not refilled (despite calling to the front desk and also having the container off of the stand- it was clearly empty). When we were checking out there was a guest at the front desk telling them that she didn’t have her room cleaned at all most of the week despite calling and didn’t get new towels, so guess it could have been worse. Not what you hope and expect when you’re booking a Hilton but maybe they are still working it out. The tv, walls, and furniture in the room felt dated.
Not all of the bars are set up to accept charging things to your room. Not the end of the world but not convenient. There is a swim up bar but I’m guessing you would need a credit card which deterred us from trying to go to that one.
The beach is good. Not sandy, very coral-y, but the water is gorgeous and good for snorkeling. Bring water socks and you will be fine.
The breakfast buffet was good. A good amount of pastries, made to order eggs/omelette station was a highlight. The coffee machine was hit or miss.
The grounds are beautiful and the prices seemed reasonable. Good amounts of parking, on our next trip to Bonaire I would first look for another place but would also consider staying here again if it was the most reasonable option. Hopefully some of the kinks are worked out by the.
- markwS4051DV (10/5): Great Property, Great Stay! - Great stay. Property was very nice. Pier for swimming off of with steps to water. Staff was great. One bedroom apartment with living room and kitchen area. A/C was present in both areas. Very large nice shaded patio.
- juliebwestfall (8/5): Really good overall! - This is a great property on an amazing island. It wasn't too crowded, never loud, and the restaurants are very decent! You can make a lot of meals in the kitchenette of the studio as well. The fine dining restaurant — Brass Boer — exceeded my expectations for lunch. The snorkeling in front of the hotel is very delightful -- saw lots of fish and some turtles. It's nice to just go for a swim as well, and the pools are very nice. I used the dive center to do the PADI Open Water course, so that was convenient for the one pool day.
A few niggles: The blankets are very thin and the beds are only medium comfortable. There's no way to prevent sand from getting in the room or cleaning it up -- a broom would be great, as well as a small foot bath outside of each room. The WiFi is extremely spotty — don't be trying to work remotely from here.
- M3148LEkarenh (10/5): Bonaire - From the beginning to the end, the staff at this resort was friendly, accommodating and always remembered the excursions and the interest that we had. The resort was extremely clean and tranquil. I highly recommend this beautiful Resort even if guests do not dive, they have two pools that are large and beautiful.
- Where2next629 (10/5): Fabulous birthday stay at Delfins! - I'm so happy to write this review of Delfins. Went for my 50th birthday in June 2025 with my husband on the recommendation of a travel agent friend of mine. She knew we loved to snorkel and thought this would be a great place with easy entry for snorkeling. She was so right! We loved everything about our stay. It's really paradise and such a great start to my 50th year. Thank you Delfins!
Grounds: beautiful and well maintained. Several pools and a kids pool, there's a swim up bar too. Very relaxing environment. On-site dive shop. Many loungers to sit by the water/pool and relax. You can get a massage in the outdoor hut (we did not but saw people taking advantage of this amenity). Huge gym on property. I didn't take advantage of this because I was too busy snorkeling, eating, and relaxing for my birthday weekend! There is a small shop called Fresku where you can buy small pastries/sodas/coffee and some small sundries. Check the hours. There's also an ice cream parlor and take out pizzeria.
Room: Stayed in a fully renovated upstairs single room and were impressed with the full kitchen (fully stocked with utensils and cookware and small appliances!) and room overall. The view was interesting, we looked out at an abandoned hotel with graffiti on it but we didn't care, we're from NYC. We were able to watch the wild donkeys and flamingoes from the terrace. We didn't spend a lot of time on the terrace as you can smell people smoking from other rooms there. Bed was so comfortable. Air conditioning worked perfectly. Both of us slept great. Quiet super clean room.
Staff: amazing and friendly. From the moment we got our taxi at the airport till we took the same taxi back, everyone was great. The taxi was run by a husband (named Djurick) and wife, they were lovely and drove us several times off property. Front desk staff helpful and courteous. Restaurant staff patient and kind!
We attended the nighttime outdoor acoustic singalong which featured a fantastic singer. Definitely a highlight. Don't miss. Big crowd very popular event!
Location: walking distance (albeit on a rocky unpaved road with some wild drivers, not a complaint just a heads up, we love an adventure!) to a mini mart where you can buy the basics.
Beach: there is a wooden pier with a ladder to get to the water. Perfect. Also a wash station to wash off and wash your gear. Snorkeling was ok (not the resort's fault!!) we know that reefs in general are not doing well across the Caribbean sadly. But we saw plenty of beautiful fish and the water is calm and warm. A delight just to go swimming too.
Restaurants: fantastic. Plenty of vegetarian options. Fresh delicious food. Pricey but you're on vacation! Mangia! We attended Club Tropicana BBQ by the Beach for dinner one evening. Barely a seat to be found, it's popular! There is a dj and I loved the music; hubby thought it was too loud but I didn't!
We had lunch at the Club Tropicana, delicious and we got to watch the iguanas and beautiful birds.
Had lunch and breakfast at Kolo. The breakfast is a buffet with delicious options you can eat poolside. Lunch was amazing too.
I think I've covered it all. We want to come back to stay and bring family and stay in one of the villas.
Brava Delfins!
- Deediex (8/5): Dream Lux Experience, 1 Bad 🍎. - Gorgeous, laid back resort with a dreamy shoreline and modern, clean, accommodations. Several pools and ocean front, of course. Staff very professional and friendly except for Zutje who was at the breakfast registery. She was passive aggressive, extremely rude, and honestly, I experienced racial discrimination by her (I am not caucasian). I do hope they sort out that bad apple. Put a real damper on my last day.
- msporchia17 (8/5): Great Staff and Rooms Bad beach Access and Food - I wanted to love this Hilton but was spoiled by the beaches of Curacao’s Kontiki and Aruba’s overall. We booked a two King bedroom apartment which was beautiful and well serviced, but it’s time for new towels. All the encounters with hotel staff were absolutely wonderful! They were all fantastic and super helpful and genuine. The beach here is not for easy water access if you don’t plan to snorkel. They have one set of steps leading from the relaxation and sunning area behind a rock wall which leads down to a super rocky and shell covered beach. DO NOT forget to bring water shoes. I almost fell as I entered the water which wouldn’t have been too bad because it was HOT! The independently owned restaurants on the property have less than desirable food. Tropical served me a cheese burger with stale bread my first night. I think folks here like overcooked fries because I needed a new order that weren’t overcooked. Kolo served us frozen barbecued wings and a super bland Caribbean pasta dish and Caribbean fries on our second chance to allow them to get it right. The shrimp were fresh but the fish was not scaled. Everything seems pre frozen. They should consider getting some actual chefs for the prices which are Bonaire HIGH and don’t match the quality of the food. Most of the cooks were a let down for this Foodie! I didn’t go to the Brass Boer because the name reminded me of apartheid. I had my best food from the Big Red Stork Truck on Te Amo Beach (except El Mundo😍) which was where I had to go for the sandy beach experience. Both recommended by a local native. Overall, the Hilton is a beautiful space with bad food and beautiful people working there. Thanks to them for making my one week stay enjoyable! I wish someone had written an honest review before I booked here.
- jackkM6930DP (2/5): Miserable Uncomfortable Stay! Avoid this resort! - AVOID this resort!! We had a miserable stay. I had purposely reserved a studio room to make sure the entire space had air conditioning and we could comfortably relax after a day out. Instead we got “upgraded” to a one bedroom room which meant we had yo endure inescapable sweltering heat in the living room area since only the bedroom was climate controlled. To me that level of discomfort is not an “upgrade”!! If the resort cannot deliver on what it promises via the reservation, they should WARN their guests ahead of time and not thrust it on them at check in. We come to Bonaire almost every year and we will NOT be staying at Delfins again! You’ve been warned!!
- T209EQsethp (4/5): Absolutely way too expensive for what you get. Supposed to be peaceful experience. 2 out of the 3 nights blasting music - Absolutely a terrible experience from beginning to the end. At check in they could not find my reservation for 10 min. I had already checked in on the Hilton app yet the folks at the front desk were absolutely mind blown saying I didn’t have a reservation. Once they found the reservation, the experience only went downhill from there. Arrived at the room only to find that the bedroom is the only room air conditioned. We booked the ocean front single bedroom apartment. Pretty expensive experience and the living room didn’t have blinds. It was so hot we felt sick to the stomach in the room. The bedroom has a small air conditioner in wall running for its life. The ceiling fan in the ceiling didn’t work in the bedroom. We reported it and was told maintenance would have a look. The maintenance man could not fix it and we then was told we are out of luck. There was only one bath towel in the room for 2 people. No wash clothes. No blankets. Only a sheet. Mattress is super comfortable after you sweat through to it. The front desk does not sell or provide missing amenities. Had to spend 40 dollars for a round trip taxi to buy a razor for the ms when hers was forgotten. There is a small shop that is open limited hours and closed on Sunday which has very little in it (no razor). 4 restaurants on the property 3 of them you can’t charge to your room. 2 small pools. The real kicker that really made me mad, the first night there was a wedding reception blasting music till 11 pm so loud I could feel the base in the bedroom. The second night was peaceful. The last night live music still blasting at 9:30 pm and counting. I would honestly not waste your money on this place. I am a Hilton diamond member and have stayed in Hilton hotels and resorts all over the world and this one is absolutely the worst Hilton resort I have ever stayed in. They all have the quirks but this one puts the icing on the cake. The only reason the reviews getting 2 stars is because all of the staff is super nice. They just have not been given the resources to make people’s stay memorable for the right reasons. You can’t rent a car directly from the hotel which is pretty convenient and diamond members get 25 percent off. Other than that be ready to sweat your tail off with uncomfortable furniture in the living room and on balcony if you have one with zero places to buy refreshments other than an expensive taxi ride. Super disappointing experience. Would not recommend this property until they get there act together.
- 986BillN (10/5): Great place for a dive holiday - We had a great experience at the Delfins property. We spent the last week there. The room had everything you need for a dive vacation, i.e. good size mini fridge / kitchenette. It also had great European styling with room enough. The key point about the resort I would like to make is that the food at all of the restaurants was of excellent quality and value, as good as any place else we went on the island. The drinks were pretty good they could use a large draft beer. Those tiny little 250 cl beers don't really cut it and some of the cocktails were made with pretty unimpressive mix. Specifically pass on the classic margaritas. Staff was great. We loved all the enthusiastic Dutch kids there on internship. Also the dive operation seems to be first class. We had already booked with another provider or we would have used. We did stores gear there and it was VERY convenient!
- 622bertjanv (10/5): - What an absolute gem on Bonaire! Delfins Beach Resort creates an unforgettable experience with excellent service and warm hospitality.
The accommodations & amenities are modern and comfortable, with everything you need for a luxurious stay. Stayed in a villa myself which I highly recommend for families or larger parties.
Also fantastic that the resort is committed to sharing the beauty and culture of Bonaire. Ideal combo of exploring the island and relaxing at the resort. The resort itself has a laid back vibe and as far as I am concerned perfect for the balance of exploring and relaxing.
Highly recommended for those looking for a tropical getaway with character, comfort and a heavy dose of Caribbean charme!
- jeniferm906 (4/5): Not welcoming - The resort is clean, modern, and close to the airport. However, we were surprised to find no AC in the living area it was extremely hot and humid, and the small unit in the bedroom didn’t cool the room well. We would not have booked had we known this. We could not relax in the room. I also had 2 rings go missing from the nightstand after housekeeping came. It wasn’t valuable, but I had asked that no one enter our room after that yet housekeeping still did the next day. The staff was not particularly friendly or helpful. The gym wouldn't let me in without a towel from our room so make sure to take one with you or you will have to go back to your room to get one before they will let you enter. For a Hilton brand, I expected better. They apologized for the missing jewelry, but we won’t be returning.
- dawnj1269 (10/5): Wonderful stay! - We recently stayed at Delfins for 5 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Our ocean view room was in the B building, and it was ideal for our needs. The grounds were beautiful and the pools were very nice, a few more loungers at the pools would serve guests better. We only ate at the BBQ restaurant and had great service and delicious small plates. We frequented the Frescu cafe for coffee and the staff was always friendly! Be sure to check their hours though, not just there, but everywhere on the island!! The Monday night sing-a-long @ the fire pit was a nice surprise! We had a bit of a mishap our last morning, but Jorge and team were quick to jump in and handled it very professionally. Thank you all for a wonderful getaway!!
- Alwaysonbusiness53 (8/5): Would be easy to make it better - View beautiful
Facilities very nice
Restaurants and bars great
Pool very nice
Housekeepers are untrained and thus the housekeeping is terrible. Improve the housekeeping And I will give you a five. Train them!
Grounds, especially entrance could be better
- wouterg978 (6/5): Not to bad - Good bed
Nice hotel with a lot of parking spots
Staff is okay they are just more busy with them self then clients
Umbrella’s are flying everywhere and they don’t care at the pool they watch and do nothing so we had to pick them all up even if they weren’t ours. What if a child gets under there ??
Drinks are way to expensive compared to the city bars.
Breakfast is good, view and hotel rooms are nice ! Specially if you travel with friend in the G block you get a room with a double lock door to switch to another hotel room if want yes they are locked but can be unlocked on both indoor sides.
The beach is decent
- miguelm601 (8/5): Lovely Small Island - Very nice hotel with a beach front although to access the ocean, one must go off the dock. There are multiple pools on the property including a “swim up bar”. We stayed at the 1 bedroom room suite type room. It has a small kitchenette with a small fridge, sink and Nespresso coffee. Only the bedroom has AC but the TV is in the living room installed awkwardly. The bedroom had no tv. There is an outside lovely patio where I could dry my diving wetsuit. Overall in December the temperature is very nice with low humidity so it was fine. The hotel has an excellent albeit very expensive restaurant named Brass Boer. As well they have very good drinks and food service on the beach. Bonaire is a lovely little island but one must love the ocean. Activities are hanging out at the beach or pools, scuba diving, bone fishing, wind surfing and kite surfing. Also kayaking in the mangroves is excellent. For a small island there are very good restaurants. The currency is in dollars and it is very safe. We go there every year where I get my annual scuba diving fix. Highly recommend but not if the ocean and its activities is not your cup of tea.
- Climber21850 (8/5): Nice Resort - Overall, our stay here was good. Snorkeling was very good right in front of the hotel, lots of fish, sea urchins and I even saw a turtle the last day I was there. The staff were incredible, everyone we dealt with seemed genuinely happy and eager to help solve any issues. We ate at all of the hotel's restaurants and they were very good, our favorite was Tropicana, which had great cheeseburgers and shrimp pasta with a laid back bar atmosphere, but Brass Boer was also excellent and the other two restaurants were good. Additionally, the staff at all four restaurants were great, we did not have to wait very long for anything and prices were reasonable. We also rented one of the jeeps for a day which went smoothly (and there was no line for gas at 8 PM). Additionally, the gym was good and had a nice view of the ocean and entire resort from the cardio area. We only gave 4 stars because there were ants in the kitchen for the first 3 days. They were quick and would cover any food left out for more than a few minutes. The staff did spray right away every time we asked and they also asked if we wanted a new room after the second time (we didn't want to move though). In addition, staff followed up with us after the third spray to see if we had seen any more (we didn't see any more for the rest of the stay after the third spray). It was clearly not the staff's fault, but Hilton should take care of this. Nevertheless, we will stay here on our next trip to Bonaire.
- Curiosity36862883087 (8/5): God until all kids arrived, then it became a kindergarten - Nice beach and service. We left when all small kids arrived (Easter) which was good. Too much voice in the pool when they arrived. Also good service with new towels except when all kids arrived. Then everything was taken… even the e bacon was out. Sad, as enjoyed it all other days.
- 791stacyd (8/5): Pretty nice overall - The resort is beautiful and clean. People do tend to reserve the very comfortable beach chairs despite the signs that say not to. The water does not get hot in the shower- just luke warm and the water pressure is very low. There is only AC in the bedroom- the rest of the one bedroom/ kitchen unit we were staying in had no air, but the porch was a lovely breezy place to hang out. It was listed as “ocean view”, but only barely. If it saves you money to choose a garden view, it’s not worth the upgrade. The breakfast was fantastic. I have never had such a great resort breakfast! The staff were pleasant but no one went out of their way to be exceptional, so I have no one to mention. The on site dive shop was ok, but prices were a good 40% more than others in town. We used them out of convenience only. We rented a truck from Avis which worked out well! I can’t wait to visit this beautiful island again!
- ianmG9766QZ (10/5): Delfins. Amazing Place to Relax and Unwind - What an amazing place to visit and what a phenomenal place to stay…! My wife and I have traveled the globe for 40+ years and have encountered just about every unexpected treasure and foley one could imagine. From the time we checked in, Renee (I hope I spelled it right…!) was the most amazing person I’ve ever had check us in. Problem with the room…? No issues. I’ll be there in a few minutes with a golf cart to take you to a new room.
I didn’t have to call the front desk for much during our stay, other than general curiosity of Bonaire, but every single time, we seemed to get Renee. She is a consummate professional and subject matter expert regarding things to do on island and the best way to get there.
There are not many people I would highlight like I have Renee on this review. She 100% went above and beyond to make our stay at Delfins the best it could possibly be. She and her genuine caring for our well being was one of the most lasting and memorable highlights of our stay…!
- PeeJayonthego (10/5): Soft living - Beautiful property and accommodations. It’s a perfect place for R&R. The restaurants, design and soft music are things I’ll never forget.
Secure parking, short drive from the airport.
Several pools, beds and lounge chairs. Beach service is offered from 12-4p.
- Calso1 (2/5): Disappointed with Hilton Honours Hotel - Asked for a shuttle to the hotel, no one got back to us, paid for a $20 cab, no hot water to shower for 4 days, don’t stay in suites 8107 - 8110, they are on the major road way that is noisy and busy. Extremely poor front desk service, Nils the manager of the hotel doesn’t pay attention to detail for example safe didn’t work for 2 days and no one followed up, they don’t answer their text messages for requests like a towel or soap, there are 3 restaurants that don’t belong to the Delfins / Hilton at the beach, the staff at the front beach bar are rude. Hilton Honours member carries no weight at this place. The Kolo beach bar with breakfast and pool staff were excellent, this restaurant belongs to the Hilton. We moved to Van der Valk Plaza Bonaire resort and it was exceptional.
- stanf96 (10/5): I’d come back - Nothing not to like. Staff were friendly. There is a 25 meter pool which is unusual in a resort. Lots of restaurants. The room was small but modern and well appointed. Parking is easy. I’d come back
It isn’t cheap but in line with other resorts in the island. 15 minute drive to windsurfing and about 20 to town.
- 536camillem (10/5): Phenomenal Stay! - From the moment we landed Delfins did everything right! We had a shuttle driver waiting with a sign on arrival which was so convenient. Upon check in we were asked if we wanted water or sparkling wine, yes please! Everyone working here was very nice and friendly. The fact that there are four delicious restaurants on site makes it so you don’t even need to leave. The breakfast buffet $22 at Kolo is great and has everything you would want. One morning we made a reservation for breakfast at Brass Boer $30 pre fix was great. We also went for lunch and the meal was outstanding l, definitely make a reservation. Live DJ at beach bbq was great plus wow killer ribs! Tropicana was good for lunch or dinner by the pool. Also there are two huge salt water pools! Easy to go in the ocean at the steps off the boardwalk. Nice coffee shop and gym on site too! I also took advantage of the restorative yoga class and ocean aqua for classes, nice perk! The rooms had a kitchenette with fridge, microwave and cooktop plus tea kettle and nespresso machine. Everything you need is here, I would surely go back! What a treat Of a vacation.
- Kiesh (8/5): Solid Stay with Good Service - The property is clean and well-sized. It is easy to navigate, and the staff is friendly. We stayed in a studio room with a king-size bed. The room was decent in size and included a small kitchenette. The shower pressure was acceptable, and the toiletries provided were of good quality and size. The mattress was comfortable, but I didn’t like the pillows—though that may just be a personal preference.
The restaurants on-site are expensive, and while the cocktails were tasty, they also come with a high price tag. However, the customer service was outstanding. Mark, who works at Kolo, is an excellent mixologist. He is friendly and provides exceptional service.
The pool at the back of the property is great—it’s quiet, clean, and always has available chairs. I really enjoyed my time there. The washrooms are also well-maintained. The pier is fantastic for snorkeling, and the water is lovely. However, entering the ocean from the beach can be difficult as it is rocky and the waves are rough; I wouldn't classify it as a typical beach experience.
I really appreciated that they left food and water out for the resident cats. Overall, the property is pleasant and clean. The pool is excellent, and the customer service is top-notch. Additionally, there is plenty of free parking available.
All in all, I am satisfied with our stay. Thank you!
- alextV8815GI (6/5): Would recommend, but some criticism. - This is a tough review to write, as Delfins Beach Resort isn’t a simple case of “love it or leave it.” The resort offers many unique features and has the potential to be truly outstanding, but there are some aspects future guests should know about. If the management happens to read this, I hope they take note of these areas for improvement—we’d love to come back.
The highlights: the grounds are well-kept, and we stayed in one of the villas, which was spacious, modern, and came with a private pool. The resort has several restaurants, three of which are part of “Brass Boer”, owned by 3-Michelin-star restaurateurs from Holland, so the food is surprisingly good and each dish has a unique touch. There’s also an adjacent large (public) gym included in your stay, with classes and several floors of machines and free weights. For divers, there are two dive shops on the property and a long pier where you can jump straight into the ocean for scuba, snorkeling or a swim. Additionally, the resort boasts some wonderful pools to choose from.
Bonaire itself is an island paradise, particularly amazing for scuba divers, with mesmerizing diving right off the shore. Beyond the diving, there’s plenty to explore, including wild flamingos, a donkey sanctuary, mangroves, caves, and a variety of wonderful water activities and restaurants.
The drawbacks: While Delfins shines in many areas, there are some things to keep in mind.
1) The pier, for example, is overgrown with fire coral. While this isn’t something the resort can control, it would be helpful if management warned guests, especially families with small children, during check-in. The vinegar buckets to treat burns are appreciated, but a proactive heads-up to avoid the bottom stairs, railings, and pylons could save guests from a painful experience.
2) The three beachside restaurants offer excellent food, but the service is lacking due to understaffing. The young staff, mostly from Holland, work long shifts and do their best, but during dinner rushes, they’re overwhelmed. With only one bartender and a few servers managing a packed restaurant, wait times are long, orders get forgotten, and the experience doesn’t reflect the resort’s reputation. Adding bussers, food runners, and a manager would greatly improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.
3) The situation with the towels is a bit funky—you’re given one beach towel per person at check-in, and you’re expected to take it with you to the pool and beach, which don’t have any towels. If you want a fresh towel, you need to bring the old one to the front desk to exchange it. It’s not a big deal, but it’s an odd system we haven’t encountered at other resorts.
4) Room service only cleans and changes room towels once every three days, even if you call and specifically request service. Again, it’s not a huge issue, but unusual.
5) Another point to note is that while Delfins recently joined Hilton, the villas are not part of the Hilton Honors program. This was surprising since the villas are the resort’s most premium accommodations, and the website doesn’t mention this separation. If you’re a Hilton member hoping to earn points, double-check in advance.
6) Bonaire’s electrical infrastructure can also lead to occasional blackouts. While this isn’t the resort’s fault, it’s something to be aware of—rooms can get warm, and the grounds become very dark. Fortunately, these outages typically only last 2–3 hours.
7) Finally, sand flies and mosquitoes are common. The resort does sell repellents, but it’s worth coming prepared to avoid discomfort.
Overall, Delfins Beach Resort has a lot going for it—it’s well designed, offers top-notch amenities, and has a culinary edge that sets it apart. With some improvements in communication, staffing, and attention to detail, it could be next level.
