Guest Reviews
- Pofang (1/5): Booking.com should block this terrible apartment to avoid future problems. - NOTHING!
The place is extremely dirty. Many sand on the bed, the linen hadn’t been changed obviously, all the bed sheets smelled terrible.
The landlord is not friendly at all, and they even asked the visitors to vacuum before checking out. Super weird!
And be careful, you’ll have to deal with massive cockroaches as well! The place is extremely dirty. Many sand on the bed, the linen hadn’t been changed obviously, all the bed sheets smelled terrible.

- dragana (8/5): - How clean the place was and how kind and welcoming the staff were Location is a bit far regarding walking distance
- Nakkita (2/5): Wasn’t the most hygienic place - It was quiet Wasn’t really properly clean, had spiders and webs everywhere. The bathroom had no ventilation for the shower could barely breathe. Kitchen appliances were filthy and left in a horrendous state/ condition had to clean and re wash them. Oven was filled with spider webs wasn’t cleaned freezer melted all of our food and dairy products was not clean at all and smelt of mould. Overall wasn’t happy with this place
- Alana (10/5): we enjoyed our stay - size and price
- Hayley (7/5): - Quite location It would been nice to know it was for sale before arriving as I thought I was trest passing a for sale house.
- Magaly (8/5): - The place was very comfortable and roomy for 2 people. In a good spot too. Some things that could be done to make it better are:
- adding some hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes while showering.
- tea towels in kitchen would be useful too.
- adding rubber to the bottom of the chairs as they are noisy when moved.
- adding a little welcome pack like coffee/tea.
- Ackland (8/5): Very good -
- David (7/5): Good - Spacious, well equipped, self contained in great location. Apart from issues (easily fixable hopefully) represented great value for rates charged. Gas stove lighter broken & replaced witj small cigarette lighter, TV remote didn't work. Shower leaked & had mouldy tiles.
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Bill (10/5): perfect for a quick 2 night getaway - super close to location of beach and hot springs clean, self contained apartment, fabulous host
- Shanshan (1/5): Worst experience ever!! - Location was ok. Shower was good. The first night, we were about to pull out the sofa bed and go to sleep when we discovered it couldn't be pulled out completely and the sheet was dusty. There was another sofa bed, but it was very stiff. We figured we could still use it. So, three of us (two adults and a 7-year-old) squeezed onto the double bed, while our 10-year-old slept on the stiff sofa bed. My husband and I couldn't fall asleep until midnight. Then something even worse happened.
To give some background: the unit is located underneath a house, with entry through the back. Around 1:30 am, when we just fell asleep, we were woken up by foot steps and chatting from upstairs, then later on watching TV, and snoring. My husband and I couldn’t sleep at all. We were too exhausted from a full day of traveling with kids to get up and knock on the door.
The next morning, we called the host, Anna, who acknowledged that the sofa bed had been broken by a previous guest (even though she knew we were traveling with two adults and two children, she didn’t bother to inform us). So realistically, the house could only accommodate two people!! When we mentioned the footsteps upstairs, she said those were her friends, and once again, she admitted that the floor was not soundproof!
We requested to leave and asked for a refund. Anna apologized but only offered a refund for one night. We were so disappointed about the stay— and most of all, too tired to argue any further and do anything the next day. Fortunately, we live not far away and could still go home for the second night. But if you don't live in Melbourne, then good luck! No one should have to deal with something like this during their holiday. We would give minus five stars if we could.
- Keeley (5/5): Passable - Liked the quiet location, close to everything 👌
Backyard was nice That its actually a granny flat underneath someones house probably wouldnt of booked it if had of known could here footsteps upstairs luckily it was just me and friend catching up but if this were to be a romantic getaway i would of been pretty upset due to lack of privacy
The shower could use a new shower head lack of water flow and pressure
- Ofri (8/5): Was okay - The place is spacious and overall was clean and comfy.
However, the bed wasn't the most comfortable and there were many spiders in different places in the house and It was quite cold as well and the AC didn't work, we had to cover with blankets to keep warm.
Moreover, a few hours before checking in we got a message from the owner asking us to vacuum, throw the trash and put all the towels and bed sheets in the washing machine. I have never been asked to do such a thing in any prior stays, not in booking or Airbnb.
Aside from that, was a good experience.
- Harriet (8/5): Very good -
- Kathryn (9/5): Superb - It was a quite place great location central to rye town and the hot springs The bed was a little soft for us but it was comfortable
No exhaust fan in bathroom
- Jasmine (10/5): Exceptional -
- H (4/5): I wouldn’t bother with this facility - Not much it smelled of stale air - the hot water ran out after 2 minutes for a shower - very poor kitchen facilities- no working sharp knife and only 1 very small saucepan. A message was left to vacuum before leaving!! And to strip my own bed and put the linen in the laundry- was asked to leave dishes clean (standard expectation) but no dish towels available to dry them. The fold out couch in the lounge room didn’t fold out so was very uncomfortable to sleep on
- Kelly (9/5): Good, easy stay - Comfortable bed, good location, close to family Back entrance, not as clean
- Jeanette (9/5): Superb -
- Jaida (10/5): Exceptional -
- Reece-emerson (10/5): Exceptional - Few mins drive from rye city . Home relaxing Needs. More update
- Nicki (5/5): Passable - We did complain to owner she was happy to come down and clean the property and gave back a slight refund. Was not clean beds were not made or changed coffee spills on the bench sex toy found in bed no clean towels dirty washing in laundry.
- Bernadette (5/5): Passable - Location Communication. Cleanliness and poor quality renovations of building. Private message sent to Anna with our overall comments.
- Gary (1/5): Poor - TV and no shampoo and soap as you would expect in a motel.
Smart TV with no instructions were poor.
I just wanted to watch free to air TV and football.
Every else fine
- Carl (10/5): Quiet and private - Private and quiet and great value for money Nothing in particular
- Ayshayne (3/5): Poor - Location is good. People upstairs we're inconsiderate. Stomping & running after midnight & doing works very late after hours. Moulds in the bathroom.
- Margaret (6/5): Needs updating beds x - It was clean and had plenty of room . Not able too contact anyone if very had urgent help .
The toaster did not work no soap in shower . The bedside lamp did not reach the plug . The beds were hard and need a new mattress . .
- Larrisa (9/5): Superb - Plenty of cutlery and dishes and the bedding was nice and soft.
- Lin (9/5): Superb - Friendly owner. Clean environment.
Good location.
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (8/5): Casual Airbnb vibe - Self-contained 1br apartment behind/below the main house. Feels very private even when the owners were home. Exactly what we needed. Nice to have use of the garden, too (kiddo loved it). Decently equipped kitchen and spotlessly clean. It's only 20 mins walk to Rye beach, and there's a lovely cafe practically next door. Garden could use some tidying up and the hot water in the shower was a bit erratic.
- Georgia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Petros (9/5): Good cosy little unit - The spacious kitchen. The bed, very uncomfortable
The small television screen
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yifen (7/5): it was decent - Had really good kitchen and bedding facilities, was good for the week stay The stove required a lighter to be able to function, however the lighters provided were dead so we had to buy our own lighters. The shower leaked a lot, as a 10 minute shower would make the whole bathroom floor wet as there was a crack in the shower doors. Very little toilet paper was supplied and we had to buy our own. During the first couple days of our stay, there were residents living on top of the place we staying at, soon finding out and coming to realise that we were living in a shared house, which was not mentioned in the description.
- Claire (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - Property was very clean, neat and tidy and very comfortable- all one needs for a few days away. Good location but do need a car to get about. Nice little cafe close by.
- Renee (8/5): Anna was lovely and the property was great. - The property was very clean and great location but you do need your car to get around. N/A
- Lee (7/5): Good - Spacious, tile floors were easy to clean, nice couch, nice welcome gift Bed was uncomfortable, bathroom reno's were pretty basic, no toiletries provided, lounge room orientation made it hard to watch tv, no instructions sent for accessing key, although did respond when called
- Johnstone (8/5): Very good - It was a nice accommodation, lots of privacy It was nice place if you don't mind driving, can't walk anywhere
- Heather (10/5): Weekend away - It was really relaxing. Everything you needed was there.. shops were not that far away. Nice quite area. Warm and cosy All good. The weather wasn't good
- Anastasia (8/5): Good 2 nights - The garden The noise from the dogs running up above me
- Vivian (5/5): Passable -
- Olivia (7/5): Fine for a short stay. Convenient. Kind of odd but not bad. - Location is great. Simple. Good communication. Had the facilities we needed. Water pressure and temperature was great. Aesthetic and cockroaches.
- Rowena (10/5): A perfect place in the perfect spot - My partner and I came up here to swim with the seals in Sorrento. The location was excellent, close to the cafe a few doors down and only a short drive to the beach. The place was clean and well equipped with what we needed. Excellent value for money
- Kirsten (6/5): Pleasant - Location was great, only a few minutes drive to the beach I had to call the owner on arrival to get the security lock number to get in. The unit sits under a beach house which I didnt realise. The owners weren't there at the same time, but it wouldn't have felt very private if they were. There's no WiFi, and only one button on the TV remote worked. The furniture is old and dated, and the outside facilities (if they were for guests) could use an update. Felt a bit overpriced overall.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Nella (8/5): Great location, clean & tidy with a great backyard - Clean, tidy & close to main shops Needs a bit of an update
- Michael (8/5): Great spot to escape to. - Loved the home like feel and that we had our own bit of yard to relax in. The main town and beach was only a couple of mins away so away from the hustle and bustle. Great little cafe just down the road (highly recommend the Vanilla Slice). Would definitely return. A broom would have been handy as well as a blind on the kitchen window to block out the morning sun, especially when people are sleeping in the lounge on the Sofa Bed. Also, no mention of it being attached to a bigger house but was very private regardless.
- Ariane (9/5): Location was great! -
- Amy (9/5): Superb -
- James (7/5): neat & tidy little place close to everything - it had everything we needed and was close to everything central, shoos, Beach, parks etc I didn’t know it was going to be part of another house, the back of the existing house had been transformed into a 1 bedroom self contained area.
it was fine for our stay as no one was in the other house but could’ve been very different if there was.
