Guest Reviews
- Jacqueline (3/5): - The unit was in a great position for us as we were visiting a very unwell family member at ABI Caulfield, however we will not stay there again. Whilst the keys were in a lock box the remote for the gate was not. We had to go to the unit and find the key on the kitchen table. We were informed that they do not place the remote in the box as it gets wet. There are a number of solutions to fix this however we have noticed a number of reviews have mentioned this, but it has not been fixed.
When we questioned this, we were spoken to by a male person who was quite belittling with answers like 'Well you should have read the information." Our car was too big for the parking spot and had to be parked on the street away from the unit. I checked the information on booking.com regarding the parking and the very last line states not suitable for large cars. This should be highlighted at the beginning as the spot for parking is not suitable for most cars.
The TV remote did not work and needed batteries.
I had requested the sofa bed to be made up but the bedding was left in a cupboard in a plastic bag. Again, when questioned I was belittled and told they do not do this. I have an email which states that it would be made up for our arrival. I am not precious and was happy to make the bed however I had requested it, I was told it would be made. I was then sent a text message by the male person I had spoken to highlighting that if I had wanted the bed made, I should have requested it 24 hours prior. I did.
The shower is a shower in the bath. This is not suitable to for older people of those who have difficulty. In addition, there are 2 flights of stairs to the unit.
We came home one evening to find a mouse in the foyer. Whilst this did not bother myself my elderly mother was very uncomfortable trying to get past where it whilst trying to negotiate the stairs.
The guest book in the unit contained some disgusting comments which should not have been left there by the management.
- Alun Rees (7/5): Lovely apartment - The location was ideal for us. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfy. There were plenty of towels and having washing up and laundry liquid was really useful. The parking turntable was a good idea, but could have been mentioned in the initial information. Finding the right lockbox was difficult, as where we finally found our keys did not match the photo we'd been sent. It was also unclear that we had found the correct keys as they were labelled Nr 10, but we had apartment nr 8!
I was disappointed in the lack of cooking dishes (only saucepans supplied) and there was just one decent-sized cereal bowl. It would have been a nice touch if cooking oil and a few herbs and spices had been supplied.
There was no general information booklet for booking.com customers and interestingly, in the Airbnb booklet, checkout was stated as 11am, whereas we had to leave by 10am.
We had to use our own batteries to get the TV remote to work, and there didn't seem to be any signal for terrestrial channels.
- Fairdinkum2 (8/5): good comfortable stay in a convenient location for us. - fEFgg FEWg
- Murray (8/5): -
- Cheryl-Ann (9/5): - Spacious, clean, central, walk to parks, shops easy to find. N/A
- Ian (6/5): Comfortable and clean but not the best spot - Comfortable and decent sized rooms Externally is very unappealing with dirty halls and worn carpets but does make the apartment itself a welcome surprise. Car park is tiny and seemingly prone to issues, parked on street. Nothing seemed particularly close on foot.
- rob (10/5): Great fully kitted flat with excellent transport connection - Beautiful, clean apartment. Kitted out with all you need. Even supplied coffee pods and teabags. Washer/ dryer was very handy for us too.
Nice balcony to sit and have coffee on a sunny morning. Secure free parking at the door was handy as the tram to the city centre was a couple of minutes walk from the flat, so the car sat for a few days.
- iacopetta (8/5): Comfortable and classy - Neat and tidy with a touch of class
- Arumugam (10/5): -
- Anita (10/5): Excetionally beautiful - Love the apt. Very clean and cozy Nil
- Linda (8/5): Very good -
- Cassandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Corinne (8/5): Hidden Gem has lots of Pros - Comfortable beds, very clean, convenient location, furnishings nice, good appliances- (not that we used)
Quiet Poor selection of coffee and tea. Environmental concern of coffee pods.
Too many knick knacks.
Annoying that remote control gate key doesn't fit in lock box- going back up and downstairs to get it.
Stairwell in building to flat needs recarpeting and repainting. Stands in stark contrast to nice renovated flat.
Im not a fan of all the fake plants
- Teck (1/5): WIFI not working. No action to resolve even many complaint - WIFI not working. No action to resolve issue. Bathroom water accumulate at floor without proper drainage
- Darrell (7/5): Good -
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Greg (9/5): Superb -
- Jade (8/5): Cosy flat, plenty of space for a small group of friends, close to the nearest tram stop and a nice walk around Caulfield - As a group of 5, we had a very comfortable stay. We even extended our stay as the location was convenient, only a short walk to the nearest tram stop. We had an issue with the oven which kept tripping the electrics, unfortunately was not fixed as quickly as we would have hoped.
- Carolina (9/5): My family and I really enjoyed our time there, all the facilities were there and the communication with Iman was clear, - Property was very clean, everything as photos, beds were very comfortables, very nice apartment. Maybe the smell outside the apartment, carpet is quite old, however the smell never goes inside the apartment, the hinges of the bathroom door needs a bit of oil.
- Sanath (8/5): saved the purpose. - good location main bed mattress , unconfutable
- Sue (8/5): Very enjoyable, will be recommending to friends - Comfortable beds. Tastefully styled. Great location to where we needed to be Very tight parking but great that it’s off the street. Not enough plates & utensils for cooking
- Filiep (9/5): Superb -
- Marie (8/5): A nice clean apartment with everything we needed. - A nice, clean apartment with everything we needed. The stair well leading up to the apartment wasn’t very appealing.
- Libby (8/5): Quiet, convenient, spacious, we will stay again. - Excellent location, spacious apartment, well fitted out No instructions for the washing machine (but we Googled it, so fine) and one mattress far less quality than the other
- Elly (10/5): Exceptional - It was very comfortable and convenient
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Bailey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christie (7/5): Good - great inside washing machine dirty water runs out into the bath?
outside entrance is totally disgusting almost turned away and re booked but inside is lovely.
- Pip (8/5): Perfect location and comfortable stay, but caution with pets - The 1st floor, secure flat is very well located to trams into the city, local shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Our favourite restaurant was Potstickers, a very short walk to the corner. Great park nearby and excellent choices for breakfast.
The flat is well fitted out with all conveniences like washer/dryer and coffee machine, quiet and the beds are very comfortable. The balcony, albeit small, still allows for a fresh air evening drink. Even though there is an airconditioner in the living area the bedrooms getting very stuffy during the night when the weather warms up in Melbourne (even with windows open), ceiling fans would be good. We had a pet pug with us and confirmed that the unit was pet friendly via phone before booking. (as we've been caught before). Unfortunately the subsequent confirmation emails from the host via Booking.com did not explain that we needed to vacuum and clean the flat of dog hair prior to departure, despite us paying a $200 cleaning fee. The altercation left a sour taste after our lovely stay.
