Guest Reviews
- Miruna (10/5): -
- Simon (10/5): Would thoroughly recommend it, great value for money - Amazing exactly where we wanted to be Nothing it was great
- Jen (7/5): It was ok - Comfortable enough The stairs , hated the stairs, and I think it needs an electrician to look at the power points. Needs a thorough clean especially the bathroom.
- Sharon (10/5): -
- Mandy (6/5): A lovely house if it was maintained. - Bed in main room very comfortable. Clean fresh sheets, electric blanket and very warm doona. Cleanliness. I chose this property from the photos I saw as everything looked so clean. Not the case. Inside needs a thorough clean and outside a thorough tidy up. The house took a long time to warm up. Very disappointed.
- Roxanne (8/5): I would stay again if we had less luggage to haul up the steep steps 🥹. - The house was very nice inside. The kitchen was well outfitted.
Pretty view for sure.
Loved the wood stove as we were there in cooler weather.
The warming sheet for the beds were very nice The stairs to the door were very steep and hard for some of us to go up and down on. Getting luggage up those stairs was very hard. We definately needed to plug in our bed warmers, but needed extension cords in each room. It would be a Good idea to provide them. One of the rooms had no reachable plug ins for the bed warmer at all!
Very steep driveway was difficult.
- Sylvia (6/5): - Location pretty good Too hot and the property is run down
- Alice (9/5): -
- Macfarlane (9/5): Good hosts, answered my 1 question promptly, house was clean and comfy, we had a good stay. -
- nicholas (10/5): - It was as expected and very spacious As I said it was expected and I loved it
- Christopher (10/5): Great value for money and comfort, would strongly reccomend for a quiet trip - Loved how peaceful it was, really away from the main town area but no issues at all with a car with everything only 5 minutes away. A small amount of provided firewood would be nice but not much of an issue at all to get hold of. An outdoor fire pit would make the place complete but the area is surrounded by bush which is an understandable risk.
- mohsen (8/5): Overall it’s a nice and relaxing area, we recommend it for the peaceful location - Great spot with an amazing view. The location is perfect, close to everything and very relaxing. Bushes beside the stairs and driveway were not trimmed and made the entrance a bit annoying to use. Also, the driveway is on a steep slope, which made it harder to carry our stuff from the car.
- Luna (8/5): - Not suitable for elderly or prams due to hill and entrance ..or wheel chair .. Everything was great, front entrance looked deceiving but was beautiful indoors
- Tammy (8/5): - We liked the privacy and the size of the house
- Alyana (8/5): - Very easy check in and accomodating owners!
- Jake (7/5): Nice lodge, great size, comfy beds, fantastic shower. A couple of things missing to make it exceptional. - - fireplace
-good sized property
-beds very comfortable -*cupboard next the fridge very frustrating.
-a few logs being left would be a lovely touch.
-no Netflix details left to log in to, nice to offer but would be better to have details at hand.
- Rachel (9/5): Great little spot for a family - Love this place, has everything you need.
- Rebekkah (7/5): -
- Amber (10/5): -
- Cwalsh5052 (9/5): - The property was very clean and facilities had everything we needed
- Faizan (10/5): -
- Jona187 (9/5): Cosy quiet house in a great area - Cosy, quiet house in a great area.
- Cowan (8/5): -
- Violet (9/5): A relaxing time - I loved the entire place, it felt cozy and the beds were comfortable. There was enough heaters to keep everyone warm. It was great.
- Karen (9/5): Stunning cottage near Katoomba town - Gorgeous cottage in a stunning location (although, a car is definitely needed as it is a bit of a way out of town). Great facilities/amenities ( a dish cloth would have been useful!) and nice and clean. Was absolutely freezing when we arrived! Was colder inside than outside, and took quite a while for it to warm up. Heaters in the bedrooms barely made a difference!
- Kristy (8/5): Lovely location charming home - The area and bush setting
- Lynn (8/5): A peaceful escape - Was right on edge of bushland away from more touristy part of Katoomba. Central (with a car) to walks in katoomba and Blackheath.
Great fireplace for winter evenings if you bring your own wood.
Thoughtful provision of tea/coffee Addition of a colander & teapot would be great.
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Allison (5/5): Sadly, it was disappointing - There was a nice little coffee machine and the open fire was lovely. The television didn't work as it should, and the aerial wasn't long enough to plug in to TV. After a few calls to Kris it seemed to connect to the internet so it was OK, but no free to air television. It was freezing (weather) and one of the electric blankets in main bedroom wouldn't work. On the 2nd full day of our stay all of the overhead lights went out and the heating and lighting in the bathroom cut off, and wasn't able to be fixed. It was really cold that night, with snow on the ground in the morning so it wasn't ideal. It was a nice place but, unfortunately, too many things went wrong for us to enjoy it. I don't think it was worth the money. Oh and just one more thing - the tin of ovaltine was a lovely gesture but it's rock hard.
- Cheryl (8/5): Very good -
- Amelia (7/5): Good -
- Naomi (9/5): Superb -
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (7/5): Steep driveway - Driveway is very steep and no undercover parking. Could not find instructions for using netflix and Disney + , only had the wifi details from email.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (8/5): Really nice place .. a bit out of the way if you want to walk in and out of Katoomba - Nice tree-top apartment surrounded by bush .. really well equipped, clean and comfortable. Well away from Katoomba centre .. a long walk as we found when we couldn’t find a taxi on a busy Saturday night. Easy drive however.
- Robert (7/5): Good - Size and comfort The steps getting in
- Iraj (9/5): Overall very good property for a staycation - The cleanliness and amenities. The bushes and grass along the access pathway were very overgrown. Needs trimming.
- Chantel (10/5): We had a wonderful time staying here and would happily stay again - Thankyou! - The beds and pillows were very comfortable! I greatly appreciated the coffee and my son loved the hot chocolate The roses along the driveway were a little bit overgrown
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Diana (10/5): I would love to go back - The house is beautiful. I took my mum and sister to it and they were absolutely delighted with how comfortable and calm the house is. We watched a movie, had espresso coffee, and found a lot of relaxing spaces. It is also very close to Katoomba main town so everything was accessible. The fans and light access were a little confusing. We could switch off each other's fans from different rooms. The instructions are helpful, just unclear why there is a connection between all rooms.
- H (10/5): Really clean and comfortable, we felt very at home and enjoyed spending Christmas there -
- Kara (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (10/5): Overnight stay - clean tidy, good value, good location
Mountain biking for a couple of days with friends. Perfect place Nothing
- Robyn (10/5): Contained everything needed for a comfortable and pleasant stay. - Well stocked and comfortable house. The operation of ceiling fans was a bit confusing
- Ralf (10/5): Really enjoyed it great to relax - Location and style - well equipped too
- James (10/5): Loved our stay here - fantastic little place. - Brilliant and well maintained place, very clean and quiet location.
- Julie (8/5): We enjoyed our stay. - In a good location, clean and tidy with a comfy bed.
- Paulina (10/5): Charming and cosy house with a nice view - This house is amazing. Has everything that is needed for a few nights stay. The fireplace is just outstanding. We really enjoyed having a relaxing time with a beautiful view and the fireplace on. It was really cosy :) It's quite a long and hilly walk from the station there so I recommend it mostly for people who have a car.
- Stefan (9/5): Quiet mountains retreat - Comfortable big beds , big shower , quiet place and lovely fire place. Speedy communication with owners and not far from Katoomba. The owners provided marshmallows and kids loved them. Thank you . Would have liked some hooks in the bathroom but apart from this enjoyed our quick stay.
- Manenti (6/5): Fair place, but for what I paid I was expecting more. Cleaning could be improved. Location is good. - I liked the layout of the apartment. I liked the electric blankets. Possibility to charge an EV. Thin walls (like a cabin). Cold. could have been better cleaned.
- Pui (8/5): The place is great and the host is very friendly and helpful :) -
- Allen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janine (10/5): Pleasant, comfortable, warm, great amenities. Everything we needed was there - Thankyou! - Clean well presented comfortable warm Nothing - Thankyou
- Amandeep (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (9/5): Johnsons Blue Mountains Family Getaway - The fire was fantastic. It was close to Scenic World, hiking trails and a drive to see a beautiful waterfall The stairs!! Definitely not for people work mobility problems
- Kanwal (8/5): Overall, it is a great place to stay and enjoy nature. - It is a very beautiful clean place. It was decorated with great taste. Beds were comfortable, and we were glad to have the electric blankets and extra blankets. The kitchen had all that we needed. We appreciated two bathrooms. Very close to nature. It must be very beautiful during the summer months. It was very cold there. It took a long time to reach the comfortable temperature.
- Jane (10/5): We loved it. Would definitely stay again. - Beautiful hidden away location as its name suggests. Surrounding bush land was a playground for hours. Fire was toasty and entertaining. It is still ok quite cold, so recommend lots of warm clothes if staying in winter.
- Bradley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (9/5): Quiet, elevated property with complete bush land backdrop for discovering was very quaint. - Nice and secluded and private.
- Parawan (5/5): Passable -
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Renneberg (2/5): Very poor - Very clean. Very comfortable
- Angela (9/5): Was a cosy place to return to after a day out, with everything you needed to make it feel like home away from home - Was definitely comfortable, had everything we needed to make for a relaxing time away. The fire was beautiful to come back to after it being so cold and wet outside. Not what we didn’t like, but would be good to have blockout curtains in the bedrooms not only so you’re not woken up by the day light, but would also help with keeping the house warmer.
- Michael (10/5): A very comfortable stay in a quiet location. - The quiet location and the elevated property with views of sunrise over the horizon! Only minutes drive to town centre. The second toilet and shower was accessible only from outside and access to this was not shaded (it was raining a bit during our stay)
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Penny (7/5): Good -
- Adam (8/5): We loved staying there and would stay again. - Loved the relaxed feeling of the place. Calm and bright. Note: Steep driveway and stairs to front door.
- Stan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ailsa (7/5): Good - House was clean and well furnished with good facilities. Lots of nice touches such as tea and coffee and a great open plan kitchen/ social area. Host was responsive and flexible with access on arrival day. Even though advertised, there was no garden or outside space we could use. The outside space was too steep and overgrown. So as a rural retreat it missed the spot a bit... in hindsight we would have chosen something more conveniently located in town if we werent going to get the outside space. Wifi didnt work at all.
- Anonymous (9/5): Lovely stay with our family of 5 in the woods - Cute woodland cottage with log fire for cosy evenings. Very easy to communicate with owner. Easy to use oven & hob (unlike some we have encountered on our travels) where we cooked an early Christmas dinner as our family won’t be spending Christmas together this year. Nothing
- Christine (8/5): Accommodation met our needs - Spacious accommodation The steps up to the building.
- Dilan (8/5): Very good -
- Jason (8/5): Very good -
- Tracey (9/5): Great place to stay and chill, clean and cosy - Great spot quiet and cosy and plenty big enough for the 4 of us. Well equipped and perfect for what we needed Bit further out of town than I thought.
- Farabi (7/5): Good stay + price overall - Location is nice The king bed may need replacement as it is very saggy
- Jingsha (9/5): Superb -
- Nelson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessica (10/5): Relaxing! - Gorgeous spacious property! Felt very safe and cosy here and brilliant location
- Genelle (9/5): Lovely clean home. - Clean, comfortable and quiet. I would have liked steps that come off the driveway to have a railing support - but that is only because I have balance and mobility issues. The younger people in our group did not find the steps difficult.
- Heath (9/5): Superb - Lovely location and property Was quite cold. Ducted ac would be preferred.
- Maria (8/5): We enjoyed our stay - It was clean and had every we needed except newspaper for the fire The third single bed on the floor wasn’t appropriate for an adult
- Mia (8/5): A pleasant stay with wonderful host. - 10/10 - very new and clean
8./10 - Fireplace although I need to purchase my kindling and fire starter. Host provide some logs
8/10 - free Netflix and wifi
9/10 - good kitchen facility that has everything
7/10 - nice shower although would have prefer a bathtub. But host did give a baby bathtub for my to shower my baby
9/10 - good children room that kept my kids occupied 5/10 - king and single bed is too soft
6/10 - room is a bit cold during winter although they have thermal blanket.
5/10 - didn’t know there are lots of steps to climb
5/10 - there is only washing machine, no dryer.
- Ana-maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natalie (8/5): An enjoyable place to stay and would recommend to others - Location was good, cozy and convenient. Well maintained Firewood did not start, no privacy due to the lack of blinds, no hot chocolate left in the containers
- Anonymous (8/5): It was nice and cosy for a family that had been busy travelling all day - It was cosy, loved the fireplace and it was comfortable with the kids The main bed slats came out and bed was wonky, but other than that house had everything we needed :)
- Manuela (10/5): A very nice and cosy place - My colleagues loved the place and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything they needed was there. It's beautifully decorated too Nothing bad to say at all
- Anne-maree (8/5): Very good -
- Hsiao-chien (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable
- Rory (10/5): Exceptional -
- Larissa (6/5): Clean and modern - disappointed with fire set up. - clean and fresh I particularly choose this property on account of the fire, as that is my ideal mountain get away, so was extremely disappointed- on arrival there was only two large logs, several fire starters, NO kindling and a bit of newspaper, totally unable to start fire. All available kindling on the property was wet. Then email sent to me on the day of entry stated I was to buy firewood! Note - all other similar places have fireplace set up ready to go and a good supply of wood and means of getting rid of ash, that needs to be done daily. Not sure how I was supposed to split the wood - provide my own axe?? Entry stairs (+20) are irregular and slippery, suggest leave lights on for people coming in on their first day. Driveway is dark and hard to negotiate at night- need lights at entry to driveway. No coverings on windows, either bare windows or sheer curtains (MBed), so quite cold. Curtain and electrical cords in MBed a trip hazard. The property is clean and seems to have been recently modernised and nicely decorated, well appointed kitchen.
- Cindy (10/5): We loved our stay here, a great property for a winters getaway. - The kids loved exploring the backyard/nature reserve and collecting sticks for the fireplace. They also loved playing with the box of toys in the bedroom. Definitely recommend this place to others, only a short drive to Katoomba Town Centre.
- Yanheyue (10/5): They have everything I need for my stay. great place - everything was great!
- Tony (7/5): Good - Over all we were very happy with the place The hot water needs looking at, was either just warm with no cold water on or we ran out very quickly
- Michael (7/5): Good - No heaters in the rooms.
- Pridayanti (9/5): Superb -
- Mohena (8/5): Very good -
- Monica4268 (3/5): Poor - we did not stay in the house, there is no heating in the bedrooms , there is a very step stairs to reach the entrance of the house, it was impossible to bring inside all our luggages, also we tried to park in the private road but it was so step that we damaged the rented car...we tried to explain all these matters to the owner but they did not refund us...
- Bayas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peng (10/5): Very nice and quiet place. Kids friendly, they very like the cosy kids bed, really have a good time - Location, view, quiet place N/A
