- Marie (4/5): Disappointing and overpriced - 1. Location was nice, easily accessible from the city center/train station and close to the Crans Montana signage by the lake, BUT it was some distance (20-min walk) from the main activity areas (golf courses/ski island/lantern walk/shops, etc). There was free public transport available, with the bus stop just a 3-minute walk from the apartment. There are restaurants and groceries on nearby streets.
2. Spacious one-bedroom apartment with open-plan kitchen/dining/ living room. It has a large sofabed and a comfortable double bed, with clean linens provided.
3. The check-in/check-out instructions given by the apartment manager were clear and easy to follow (notwithstanding the problem we had with the missing parking garage keys). The lock box was right by the door. It was a bit too dark to see the numbers, though. We suggest using a flashlight for this purpose, unless the owner would be kind enough to install a small lamp by the doorway. 1. Parking garage keys/remote were missing!
They were not in the key box nor in the kitchen cabinet, contrary to the check-in instructions given. We were later informed that the previous guests lost them. So we had to figure out for ourselves how to find a parking space, with the property manager offering to pay the parking ticket. Not a very convenient way to do at 6pm on a snowy Christmas eve!
2. Contact number for the property owner that was listed on Booking.com was a "wrong number", according to the person who answered our call.
We felt it was improper and misleading to put that number on the Booking.com site if it was not the apartment owner's number. We communicated with the property manager through their WhatsApp Guest services instead.
3. Kitchen ovens were still dirty when we arrived so we had to clean them first.
4. Bathroom door key couldn't easily open the lock, causing our son to be locked in for 3 hours on Christmas eve.
We had to pay more than 500 Swiss Francs for the locksmith to get him out. The locksmith explained that the lock wasn't broken but it was misaligned, probably due to the warping of the wooden door. We need to push hard on the door while turning the key for it to work.
5. Toilet flush dripping (you could hear the noise through the bedroom walls all through the night).
6. Elevator stopped working (not the fault of the apartment owner) but since the unit is on the 3rd floor, we had to carry our luggage up 3-4 flights of stairs.
7. Rent was too expensive and wasn't worth it (we paid chf400/night). Check-in time of 5pm was too late (especially in winter), considering that check-out is only until 11am.
8. We tried asking for a refund for the first night due to all these problems. It has been 2 weeks and we are still waiting for a positive response. We hope the owner is considerate enough to grant our request and will try to fix these issues so that other guests will not experience the same problems
- Ahmed (10/5): All good but needed more blankets as there were 2 available only for four guests - Location Few points could improve the guest experience, such as more blankets 1 per guest or 1 per 2 guests if you have big ones.
Also more toilet paper for guests will be great
