Guest Reviews
- Maggie (3/5): We were pleased with the location but not the cleanliness. - location was great and having 4 bedrooms was fabulous. The instructions to get into both the lock box and use the key while holding your whole hand over the key pad were not explicit enough and two people were needed to unlock the house. At first we couldn't even find the back door, but when I went down the side driveway I found where the stairs should have been but they were completely overgrown and when trying to open the back door from the kitchen it was stuck and with a lot of pulling we opened it a small amount and were confronted with very tall thick vegetation. The house was not very clean either, and being asked to use the slippers provided was not appealing at all. For 4 of us there were 2 prs of old thongs (jandles) beside a hard hat. Not quite sure why that was provided. The shower was over the bath which was not easy to get into for us older folk.
- Jeffery (8/5): - Could do with better barth room needs to be updated
- sanjila (6/5): - The location and view Some of the elecricals didn't work and it could have been a bit cleaner

- Mariia.Anf (4/5): - The location was great, with a beautiful view from the window. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and daily living. It was a peaceful and relaxing environment we really enjoyed that part of our trip. The house was quite dirty the windows, bathtub, and even the walls were very unclean, which really affected the overall comfort. The floors creaked loudly with every step, and some of the taps were moving. When I mentioned that there were no hangers at all, the hosts did kindly bring some the next day, which I appreciated. I understand that the house is old, and that’s totally fine, but an old home can still be clean. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here.
- Kirree (10/5): -
- Chetcuti (3/5): Not happy Jan! - The only good thing was that the bed was comfortable Dirty surroundings. Dirty kitchen with food splatters on splash back. Dirty crockery.
Bathroom light didn't work properly kept switching off. Slippery bath tub..
Very difficult to understand how to open the front door.
- Yuko (9/5): Highly recommend for a group trip. - Communication was prompt and smooth, erased all our concerns about property conditions. Great location and good facilities. Bin day wasn’t clear but it doesn’t really affect our stay.
- Tracey (7/5): We had.pleasant stay , - The inside was nice and comfortable, the bed in my room (front room )was comfortable. Was spacious. Walking distance to the pub . Wifi was excellent. There was no outdoor area , and the garden was overgrown and there was a lot of rubbish around the house . The little patio attached to one of the bedrooms had a lovely view but we couldn’t use it as there was no furniture. Kitchen needed new cook ware , electric frypan didn’t work . Tv could do with an upgrade .
- Jill (3/5): Loved the location and eventually got used to the poor quality bathroom/shower facilities - Location very good.
Closeness and Easy access to city.
Village atmosphere with shops and coffee shops close.
Heating very good.
Lovely walking tracks close
Public transport very close with bus at the end of the street On arrival given wrong access code to enter. Was a different access lock completely. Difficulty in contacting booking.com to get correct access code. Waited in the cold. Toaster tripped the power. Taps for shower went from boiling to freezing in a 1mm turn. Shower over bath and dangerous for older guests. No shower curtain - water goes every where and vanity water damaged. Only 1 teaspoon. No cupboards or hanging space. No mattress protectors. Pillows old and flat. Wrong garbage collection info supplied.
- Prosenjit (8/5): Very good -
- Deidre (3/5): Poor - Was a good location and close to all the things we needed. The very loud noise in another unit which seemed to be part of the same house until 3am . No shower curtain and having to get into the bath to have a shower at our age with nothing to steady ourselves. The photos on booking .com are completely different. Very poor heating . If I had an address before I booked , I would not have booked it.
- Tracy (10/5): Great location and lots ofsoace for everyone - Very large and spacious
- Kristine (5/5): Ok but needs a lot of work - The size of the property was good Very old needs a lot of work
- Cap'n (8/5): A good, comfortable stay - An old place that could do with some TLC but is quite well appointed.
Enjoyed our time there. The shower, in fact the bathroom as a whole needs to be totally revamped.
Also, a railing to make the ditch in front would be a good idea 💡
- Stephen (4/5): Disappointing -
- Stephen (7/5): It was satisfactory - Spacious Only one room had any cupboard space. Nowhere to put clothes.
- Vicki (1/5): This place should not be on booking.com. I would like some COMPENSATION please. VC McTighe. - Nothing.
it was disgusting,do you ever check properties?I wouldn’t send a dog in there. Dog shit trodden into the carpet. The outside looked disgusting with dog shit, weeds and trash in the entry. The whole place had not been cleaned or hoovered, bits of food and rice still on the floor and dining chairs. The settee was from the 80s, dirty worn leather, needed binning. I found a mop but no bucket, and proceeded to mop all the floors and the carpet where the dog shit was trodden in. The bathroom was an old bath, with black mould around the edges, with a dirty shower curtain, and a mouldy filthy shower mat. An Old toilet that was all stained YUK. None of the beds had mattress protectors, just dirty worn sheets and saggy pillow,I put towels over the sheets as they were so grubby. The windows in the room I was in ,the handle was broken and I couldn’t close the window at night,so it was very draughty. There was no welcome pack in the kitchen, not enough cutlery,a few odd plates, only a couple of cereal bowls, definitely not enough for eight people as stated. Broken cupboard door, bench top chipped, dirty toaster which I cleaned, and the kettle, dirty peddle bin
There were three of us that stayed there, my Brother called it dog shit Manor which was a good name for it. It was definitely cleaner after we left. All the rules that kept coming through emails, about electric being expensive so be careful what you use. Please empty bins and make sure you put the bins ready for collection Never had so many rules before. The description also said it was near the market, which it wasn’t near there or the Harbour. This is the worst place I have ever stayed, and I am a well travelled person. The first thing I did on arriving home was shower and all my clothes went in the wash, I felt so dirty.
- Jan (4/5): It was comfortable for our needs but needs some work done in the bathroom and kitchen. - Nothing was left for breakfast. We had no coffee or tea other than green or peppermint . No milk. We were told we would have two days of requirements but there weren't any.
- Sue (8/5): Very good -
- Sharyn (10/5): Comfortable and great value for money. - It was big enough that the two couples were not in each other's way. The beds were very comfortable. It was walking distance to the local pub and grocery store. Nothing.
- Judith (5/5): location good but needs some work - easy check in
location good main concern was locked back screen door (no key provided) so no fire escape exit if there was a fire. can only go out front door. is this not illegal?
car park has no barrier in front of house which has a 3ft drop.
no bedside lights in any bedrooms
needs more kitchen utensils
- Debra (7/5): Good - Very limited cooking utensils available eg no egg flip.
- Jo (8/5): Very good - Proximity to city and waterfront. Spacious rooms.
- Ali (6/5): Offers reasonable accommodation in a great location - Location Kitchen
- Mckenzie (8/5): We really enjoyed our visit. - Plenty of space for us. I would have liked a few more kitchen aids.
Like an egg lifter, veggie peeler, microwave lid. Just little things.
- Larissa (6/5): Pleasant - Great size home
Wonderful lovely Manager / staff Old home with old facilities needs a make over
- Janelle (7/5): Had an enjoyable stay. View of Mount Wellington from the deck was stunning. Very convenient. - The location was fantastic and central to all parts of Hobart. Walking distance to pub and fantastic IGA nearby. Access to property was easy and ample parking. Good sized rooms and living area. Was advised 1-2 days of essentials would be provided however were not. Only one mirror in the house and most bedrooms did not have wardrobe or hanging space. Additional bedding for cold nights would be great. Neighbours were a little noisy. Easy things to fix.
- Lorrae (8/5): Very good -
- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
