Guest Reviews
- Lynette (10/5): Perfect - The property was easy to find using the directions provided by th host, Zeke. Hearing Kookaburras in the morning was a lovely way to start the day. We highly recommend this property. The home grown honey Zeke gave us was the best we have ever tasted. đ
- Kerry (10/5): - The property was set back away from traffic and was a nice quiet area. Room was clean and made you feel like you were at home the entire stay
- Stuart (7/5): A tidy, homey space. - Comfy and cosy Proximity to train line was a little worrying, but didnât affect our rest at all
- Louise (8/5): -
- Mutley3215 (7/5): - Hosts were accomodating to our needs. Place was clean, spacious and nice and cool. This was especially good as our stay was in summer. Our dog Sally was also made to feel very welcome. Be aware that there is a bee hive located close to the accomodation. Especially important if you have an allergy to bees. Despite all windows and doors being kept closed we had several fly inside. Accomodation is very close to train tracks and noise does get loud. Despite the trains passing frequently the noise does not last long.
- Brad (9/5): Great stay ! - Great stay. Homely. Very comfortable.
- Greg (10/5): Comfortable stay - Lovely décor, themed on Lamu islands. Well furnished. Good restaurants within walking distance. Lovely neighbourhood. Kind hosts. Next to railway line but the noise was not intrusive. Driveway is hard to find in the dark.
- Mariam (10/5): - Such a lovely stay, thank you! The highlight of my stay was Kini - total heart stealer â„ïž
- John (10/5): -

- Christine (10/5): Excellent hosts and very communicative. Bed very comfy. Great value for money. - You can reach the property easily by train and by car. There is a carport for parking your car right outside the premises. The bed was comfortable and it was nice and quiet. We stayed for one night. The hosts left us a lovely jar of delicious honey and the kitchen was well appointed but we didn't use it due to our busy social and events schedule. The hosts offered us a camp bed for our son (who was travelling to Brisbane for a concert) but we opted to bring our own air bed in case he slept at a friends house. I can't say there was anything I disliked about our stay. It was only one night and we didn't spend much time at the premises. Just really slept there and showered and that's all.
- Chris (10/5): -
- Jessica (7/5): - Location, friendly dog, bed, smart TV, kitchen, shower and complimentary honey. Did not meet the hosts, who I believe live upstairs (not sure).

Central location in the heart of Indooroopilly.
Our host made the whole process enjoyable & simple.
Highlight was definitely our daily visits from the beautiful host dog. N/A
- YU (10/5): cozy, comfortable, and clean suite - It's such a wonderful surprise that we were able to book this cozy, comfortable, and clean suite. The location is also excellent â it's very quick to get to both nearby shopping malls and the city center. The hosts, Kate and Zeke, are very kind, and we were fortunate to taste their delicious honey. What's more, their dog Kumi is absolutely adorable â we miss her so much! If we have the chance to visit Brisbane again, we will definitely book here once more.
- Dianne (7/5): -
- Andrew (7/5): - Train noise from adjacent railway
- Amanda (9/5): -
- David (4/5): This property turned out to be an Air BnB style "spare room" at the back of the property. - This property turned out to be an Air BnB style "Granny Flat" at the back of the property. Nothing like Booking.com lead me to expect. This property turned out to be an Air BnB style "Granny Flat" at the back of the property. Nothing like Booking.com lead me to expect.
- Barrett (10/5): So pleased to find a quality pet friendly accommodation close to the city. - Excellent location and accommodation. It was clean and well equipped. It had all of the little extras that made the stay so good. The hosts and their dog were so friendly. Our dogs were free to run around the enclosed garden area. Nearby park within close walking distance. Secure parking off road. We will definitely book this accommodation again when visiting the city. Nothing.
- Pattey (9/5): It was very nice owners, nice location, very clean! - Very nice accommodation Trains in the morning
- Lehmann (6/5): Disappointing - Near the park. Bathroom quite dirty, in particular the very dirty shower and shower curtain
Awful tv reception.
Owners dog roaming free
- Posa (10/5): - It felt very comfortable and homily we had a relaxing stay knowing that our Cavoodle was in a safe Secure yard . The hoist were lovely gave you your our time and space. But must of all they have a beautiful friendly puppy she make you feel like family đâ€
- Dallas (10/5): -
- Weixin (10/5): -
- Heather (10/5): Cozy & comfortable - The hosts Zeke & Kate and dog Kumar were so friendly and welcoming
Accomodation was close to everything especially enjoyed the local Sunday market Nothing
- Patrick (8/5): -
- Ware (9/5): Good short stay - Great hosts Loss of power unfortunate but hosts were aware and kept us in the loop. Unit had everything you would need.
- Karen (8/5): Power cut excitement - Loved the dog and the wonderful hosts. Would have been nice to stay longer. Through no fault of the Lamu Suite, we ended up without power but our hosts did everything they could to compensate for the inconvenience providing us with lamps and even a generator. It was quite fun really once the workmen relented and allowed us to enter the street - they didn't really want to let us through!
- Trevor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (7/5): Good -
- Wendy (9/5): Superb - Location was great, close to train station.
Great communication.
- Trudi (8/5): An economical alternative to motels in the area with good kitchen facilities. - Owner gave very clear instructions on how to access the property and provided excellent documentation on what was provided and what was expected from guests. Unfortunately, the tv provided access to ABC and SBS channels only so we missed out on our Saturday night rugby. It would have been nice to have an outdoor space to sit and relax for a longer stay. The beehives were a little too close to the carport for comfort. We felt bad about the number of dead bees around the windows presumably attracted to the lights at night.
- Trudi (10/5): Exceptional - Great hosts, friendly, loved the dog too. Everything you could want foe a little relaxing getaway đ Nothing
- Anita (10/5): Homey little place. - Really nice little unit. Rustic decor but clean and comfy and has all everything you need. Kate and Zeke clearly take alot of pride in it. They even let us check in early when we asked if we could store our luggage for a few hours. The bed is one of the more comfortable ones I've experienced at this price point. The bees didn't make an appearance near us at all. Their pup was such a sweetie, greasing for pats all the time. We didn't sample the museli or honey unfortunately. But we could've been very happy here for much longer. Honestly I can't find a single thing to complain about.
- Rachel (9/5): Superb - The place was beautifully presented and the owners were incredibly welcoming! Wish we had spent more time there (it was a one-nighter on our way through Brisbane).
- Hayoun (10/5): Cozy, sweet, and perfectly located stay - A wonderful and cozy place to stay at a reasonable price, with a kitchen, living room, and parking included! The location was excellentâvery close to the train station and just a few stops from the city. The host and her dog, Kumi, were as sweet as her own honey. There was some train noise, but we were so tired after a day of travel that I fell asleep right away, so it wasnât a big issue.
- Bambi (10/5): Cosy and comfortable stay đ„° - Kate and Kumi (spelling?) were so sweet and we loved our homely stay đđ„° my cat loved it there too, and very accessible to get to from the city â€ïž Thank you!!
- Steve (7/5): Good -
- Julie (10/5): Great night sleep and my dog Brigette made a friend with the owners dog. - Excellent place will stay there again.
The whole place was lovely and comfortable. Nothing
- Renee (10/5): Exceptional - The property is well maintained, Zeke was lovely to deal with and the complementary honey was delicious.
- Kerryl (5/5): Host was great and accomodation could be cleaned up and bug proofed - Host very friendly.
Well equipped kitchen.
Lovely friendly dog. Train noise is totally inconvenient for any good sleeping. Bees getting inside, especially at night, totally unacceptable. Amount of flies inside when we returned at the end of day was extremely annoying. Spiders and a cockroach the size of my hand (yes I have pictures).
Bathroom with no extract fan meant 1 min showers and bees entering when showering at night was ridiculous.
- Taylor (9/5): Wonderful stay - The most wonderful hosts, so kind and helpful, even offering to put our washing on while we were out.
Easy access to the train station. The house was lovely with everything we could need in it, even had breakfast and fresh homemade honey.
- Kulimushi (7/5): It was really nice to meet with Zeke to whom we have one thing in common living in Kenya Republic. - Comfortable bed; kitchen well prepared; all necessaries placed to my disposition Only train travel disturbed
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Tony (9/5): Our stay was very comfortable and had lots of nice touches. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful to us. I wouldnât he - The property has everything you could need and was in a great spot for us to visit our family nearby. The hosts could not have been more helpful and thoughtful. The extras such as muesli, milk, coffee and toiletries were welcomed. Kumi their gorgeous dog was a delight and a good playmate for ours, also a secure outdoor space was great to! It was also very handy to have the use of a washing machine as not all rentals provide one. There was nothing we didnât like about the property although you have to not mind the noise from the regular trains which go by the house. For us it was not a problem but just something to note.
- Roslyn (10/5): Home away from home. Great. - So clean and homely. Had everything needed to be comfortable. Hosts and beautiful dog were really welcoming. Nothing to dislike.
- Christina (10/5): Zeke and Kate were so friendly and responsive. The place is decorated beautifully and felt so homey! -
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - A very relaxed atmosphere. Loved all the little touches like garden grown fresh flowers and Kumi their dog dropping by to meet us. A very comfortable unit to stay in. It has everything youâll need and more.
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional - Host was very lovely and gave us a full tour and a jar of honey from her hives! The hosts had a very lovely dog who gave us a big welcome!! Very clean and comfortable to stay in! I personally did not have a problem with this- but there are bees around and might be an issue if you are allergic. Other than that perfect!!
- Hans (8/5): Cosy unit for bee lovers - Unit is nicely fitted out and airconditioned, suitable for a couple. Homemade honey, muesli and milk were provided. Close to UQ. Friendly hosts (including dog). There were bee hives in the garden only 20 m from the unit. The first night about a dozen bees somehow made their way into the unit, attracted by the light (this did not happen the second night). Anyone allergic to bee stings should stay clear of this property. Another thing to be aware of is that the proprty is next to the train line. It didn't worry us as the noise was not that loud but could be an issue for very light sleepers.
- Chelsea (4/5): Disappointing stay - The husband Zeke was helpful over the phone with the several things I had to call him about. I never met him as he was away. I'm not sure why his wife didn't attend to the booking questions but that's ok.
The flat while unexpectedly old and rustic (I thought it was newer and modern, guess it's hard to tell by the photos) was rather nice in an old fashioned rustic way and fairly well equipped. Enjoyed provided muesli.
Had a good bed.
Great hot shower.
Beautiful sweet dog who's very hungry for love and attention. The main disappointing thing is that the train is extremely close (20 feet) from the door and goes until 11 pm, then starts up from 430 am, train goes past every 10 minutes, and all day. So a good sleep (ie from 830-9pm to 530-6am) is impossible, as is concentration to do any work if you aren't used to the noise. If I had known this it's no way I would have booked here. The ad says near the train station, but not that the train goes right past the flat and so very close. The ad also says it's peaceful as it's off the road... (yes from 11 pm to 430am).
Multiple piles of dog poo right beside the guests driveway, I just missed stepping in some, vehicle tyre ran over fresh pile when reversing out, I had to ask the wife for a hose, as it was gross and many flies swarming all over the tyre and I needed to load up my vehicle to check out. The wife (I don't know her name) didn''t even apologise, terrible attitude about it. She gave me a filthy look too, wow, I assume because I didn't thank her for the hose (which is because I received no apology about the dog poo, well I couldn't be expected to open my doors and have my vehicle fill with flies, and risk stepping in it as well beside my vehicle).. It clearly hadn't been picked up for a few days as there were multiple piles.. pretty important if next to where guests get out of their vehicles!
The driveway is not that suitable for large vehicles, it's a tight narrow reverse to exit, coming in, its narrow with some softer tree branches and a bent wire fence in some places..Wife helped me reverse out which was appreciated. I did made it clear I had a large van and was told no problem. Yes it's doable but in a new vehicle as well I don't like to worry about hitting the fence.
The Google maps showed somewhere else with a large parking lot and modern buildings.. so I thought that is where I was going.. apparently there's other 19 Bridge Streets in Brisbane.
- Asela (4/5): Disappointing - Friendly and helpful host. No air conditioning. It gets very hot.
- Alun (8/5): One night, stay near UQ and St Lucia - Hosts were very nice and helpful. Good supply of milk, tea, and breakfast cereal. Everything was very good.
- Terese (10/5): Very nice, pet friendly place with great hosts - Itâs back from the road and private, seems almost rural. It has a good yard for my dogs and their dog is delightful. The hosts are friendly but also give you your privacy. The Suite is very nice and value for money Itâs right next to the train line, so noisy trains going by regularly
- Jenelle (10/5): Great location and welcoming, comfortable space. - Gorgeous suite with everything you need. Great host - very responsive and made us feel welcome.
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional - Great rooms, furniture and appliances. Owners of the property were incredibly friendly and even gifted me a jar of homegrown honey on top of letting me use their e-bike to get around town. I had a great time in Brisbane staying here.
- Carol (10/5): We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the secluded location. - Lovely little unit, beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Location was quiet for that part of the city. The landlords were friendly and helpful. The honey from their own bees was a lovely touch. We would definitely stay again. As it is a new unit, it would have been great to have the screens and air conditioning installed for the Brisbane heat wave, but I'm told that it's on it's way very soon. There was an evaporative cooler which was good.
