Shampoo etc supplied and the motel is easy walking distance to the main street - so all in all a good place to stay for a couple of nights while in York

- Tierney (8/5): - Quiet and fairly cosy. I didn’t meet any staff in the 3 nights as they had some personal business to attend to. Room had good wifi, a microwave and fridge. Extra blankets and the heater were appreciated. I particularly liked that the hot water was quick (outside it was 2° at the time). Parking was easy. I would have appreciated more kitchen facilities (eg dish detergent and full-sized plates).

Very close to York township, which was old but well maintained by the people of York. Was a shame it was only an overnight stay. Restaurant/pub recommended was very nice to eat at. Was near the main road and you could hear the larger trucks in the early morning.

- Maxine (10/5): - Kerry and Dave are excellent hosts and we had a lovely stay at the York Motel. Located within a very short walk of the main street but tucked away in a quiet spot. Our room and all amenities were spotless with modern bathroom and a good hot shower. Cannot fault their hospitality and can happily recommend. We would book direct with them next time though as our booking information had not been passed onto them in time for our arrival, thankfully Dave was brilliant at resolving the issue, thank you!

Despite the description of the property contained in the advertising material NO FREE BREAKFAST was available. In fact no meals at all are available for guests. The other thing we did not like is the fact that hot water is only available during 5.30am to 9.30am and again between 4.00pm and 8.30pm. This is really not acceptable should you want a sleep-in or go out in the evening and want a shower before retiring to bed. The reason given was COVID!!

- Norman (7/5): disappointing - clean rooms, nice grounds to be told if we sat on or put case on single bed we would incur a $30 extra charge was ridiculous but not as bad as being told we had to book out 28 minutes early because we arrived 28 minutes early. UNBELIEVABLE.

- Michael (7/5): Good - Parking ok and gardens out the back were nice The price was a little high for what we got. Also we we not impressed that the heater was on a timer, switched off every 3 hours woke up cold and had to turn it back on .The shower is also on a timer no hot water aftet 8.30pm.

- paul (8/5): Mini break - Overall we had a lovely stay with a very warm welcome on arrival at reception. The room was well equipped and was clean and tidy. Walking distance to town. The only issues was the rooms back onto the great southern highway and the noise from trucks driving through the night kept us awake. Also the pillows were hard.

Our shower head sheared off suddenly (these things happen - it wasn't rusty or anything); the owners had one in stock and it was replaced within 15 minutes.
- Steven (10/5): Great pit-stop on a road trip around WA - We planned on stopping overnight in York on a road-trip, and had our travel plans changed by road closures - the owners were very accomodating to set us up for an additional night and make sure we were settled in. Very comfortable and quiet beds, and everything was clean and in good working order. A nice base to explore York and the area either on foot (a short walk down the Main Street into the town) or by car - would recommend anyone staying in York a day or two.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Kerry was wonderful when we checked in and showed us to our room and explained a couple of things. The room is basic with everything you needed for a stay. There was bread and cereal for breakfast and milk to boot. The property is only a short walk from town. If you are a light sleeper you might struggle, as there is some road noise and you can hear the train. Other than that if you want some cheap digs in York give Kerry a bell.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a very clean, comfortable, and pleasant place to stay. The continental breakfast provided with the room was pretty basic (white toast and condiments, packets of cereal and milk, orange juice), but I think on par with what you would expect at a motel, so no problems there. We ended up in a smaller room than we had originally booked, but given we were still comfortable, this wasn't a big problem. Overall, I would definitely come back and stay again.

- Kelvin (8/5): No staff at check in - Arrived from a long journey to be met with a message that the proprietor would be "back shortly". Had a drive around the town, followed by a walk along the river and still no one appeared. Finally rang the number supplied, were given the number of the keysafe. Entry to the room was gained, room was adequate, but asked for details of WiFi which was never supplied. Never saw a member of staff and just left the key on departure. Luckily we had a local phone number, take care if you only have access to international calls, will be expensive!!

- Cherilyn (6/5): Lovely motel, lovely town but room to improve - York is a lovely historic town and the York Motel is just as you to come into town on the highway from Perth, opposite the old flour mill. I can't fault the friendliness of the owners, or the facilities in the room - it was very clean and nicely decorated, with aircon, adequate storage and a good sized bathroom, well stocked fridge and tea/coffee etc, even a few breakfast things. But the bed was VERY firm and could do with a comfy mattress topper. The roller-shutter did a good job of blocking the light but still some noise from the highway. And to top it off we had the smoke alarm chirping intermittently all night with a low battery! The owner was very apologetic but I can't go above average here - had the mattress been more comfortable I definitely would have gone higher. Perhaps some people like a firm mattress but I suspect most would prefer a softer one than this!
