- Ibra Nihad (8/5): - The room that we choose was "Deluxe Queen Room". It was clean and have space enough for a couple and our luggage. We had a beautiful window with the view. There is a laundry machine and small kitchen to use for the guests. The best part of the Hotel, that is near Maxwell MRT station and Maxewell food centre.

- Mia (8/5): Havde alt i alt et dejligt ophold, men brugte tid på at finde personale. - Særligt beliggenheden, men gode faciliteter Umuligt at komme i kontakt med noget personale, ingen rengøring i en uge, manglende håndklæder og manglende toiletpapir.
- Yves (10/5): -
- Rolan (9/5): great - clean and near the train stn and none
- Lui (7/5): - the location is great, right beside maxwell food center and the MRT. the beds were comfy.
- Anne (8/5): Would absolutely stay here again on my next visit. - Great location and very clean.
- Jack Theuws (7/5): Locatie OK, inchecken zeer slecht - Ligging Prijs kwaliteit verhouding slecht
GEEN receptie, zeer vervelend, zeker als je vroeg in de ochtend aankomt
- Elisa (6/5): - Clean and strategic position Check in and check out completely unclear, never seen the staff, if you need any help for an early check in there is no one
- Willy (8/5): - De locatie, het gebouw en de levendige sfeer. Handig was een centrale "restroom" compleet met keuken en wasmachine. De grootte van de kamer.

- Luca (7/5): Pleasant stay overall, in an excellent location. - The top feature is definitely the location. Wonderful location, super well connected. The staff was also kind and responsive. Overall the stay went well, but I think we did not get the apartment we saw in the pictures. Overall the apartment was quite small for us with two kids, with furniture that doesn't really fit the size of the rooms (it should be rethought heavily). Another problem is the level of cleanliness, which was subpar. Lastly, there is quite a lot of noise, especially from the elevator which sounds like an alarm all the time, including at night. Something should be done about noise, including from below (street cleaning I think)

- SophiaGillis (8/5): Decent and affordable place for a short stay in Singapore - Fantastic location being right next to Maxwell Centre and Maxwell Station, walking distance to Chinatown too. No fuss room which is perfect for anyone who really only needs a place to sleep at night. There's no reception area as staff work offsite. There's a lounge area that's unmannedxand unlocked and while i was offered to leave my luggage there, i didn't feel like it would be wise to do so as no one would be held responsible if they went missing. The facilities listed didn't seem to actually be part of the hotel as they're separate businesses, therefore not free.
- Michelle (5/5): Sad to say, the accommodation did not give me value for money, just many sleepless nights. - Its location was fantastic for what we wanted to do, ie local food, access to multiple MRT stations and bus stops, etc. The communal Oasis Lounge is open 24hrs (which we found out late in our week’s stay is way more comfier than your bedroom). We knew the room was small, but the worst thing was the non-existence of soundproofing! Anyone talking along the corridor (happened a few times from neighbouring guests) or on the streets (which also happens a lot from rowdy patrons from bars on Erskine Rd), every motorbike and lorry/truck that goes past the street, you can hear them all cos THEY ARE LOUD! If you’re a light sleeper, you won’t like Room 303. The sliding windows and external shutters don’t close properly either which didn’t help with noise. The bed is also too firm for our liking.
The lift though interesting at first, became a chore to use because if you try to call the lift from Level 1 to go up, and someone had not shut the gates properly at other levels, the lift won’t come down.
The washing machine in the room was also extremely noisy when in operation. The in-room poster said we could get complimentary laundry sheets but the QR code didn’t work. In our entire stay, we have not encountered a single staff member, kind of lacks any personal touch.
- Nikki (5/5): Satisfactory - It was close to the mrt Maxwell station Self check in wasn’t easy and it mixed up 2 peoples bookings
You could hear the people in the next room even just plugging things in.
And we were on the 3rd floor and the rooftop bar was directly above our room and there was a lot of noise from early morning until late
- Lena (7/5): -
- Daniel Peter (9/5): central, good price for great services - The existence of a washing machine was great, nice and helpful people.
In the midfle of chinatown, centrally and cool. A little bit noisy due to the hawker market next to the hotel.
- Stein (10/5): -
- Li Ying (8/5): -
- Jason (9/5): Excellent location full of hype and activities - Excellent location next to MRT station, close to Chinatown and near a variety of eatery places.
Good facilities and amenities included.
Host very responsive. Attends to communication and queries very quickly.
Comfortable and will come back again. We feel the rooms are a tad under prepared for our arrival. However, the team at Habyt was very quick to respond and remediate.
With the very active surroundings, the locality can get very busy with the noise and music transferring to the room although the quiet time periods are well respected.
- ling (6/5): 还过的去 - 如果有人在是酒店就是很好,可是没人在加。给老人家不方便,他们有时候要求infor.可是没人。
如果有自己的readsetion就好很多了。 就是什么都要用email 带来很多不方便给老人家。
- pablo (10/5): -
- Moritz_T (4/5): Great location, but the dated facilities and lack of transparency - Excellent location in Chinatown—directly across from Maxwell MRT, within walking distance of Tanjong Pagar MRT, and just opposite Maxwell Hawker Centre.
The staff are friendly and respond quickly via WhatsApp during their availability hours (around 10am–7pm). Being an older property, the hotel always felt a bit worn, particularly the bathroom. The shower screen is essentially decorative—water floods the bathroom floor every time. The water pressure is also extremely weak.
A few things to be aware of that weren't clearly advertised: the room is part of a shared setup with a communal kitchen, laundry facilities, and a space shared with the neighboring room. I didn't mind this personally, but it would have been helpful to know beforehand.
Noise is a significant issue. The walls are thin, so you can hear neighbors even if they're not part of your shared space. The washing machine in the communal area gets ridiculously loud during its spin cycle—if your neighbors do laundry past midnight, expect a rough night. Cooking sounds from the shared kitchen also carry through. On top of that, there's a bar downstairs and another on the rooftop, so expect noise until at least midnight.
The lounge/coworking space was cooled to freezing temperatures, and most of the workstations appeared to be occupied by hotel staff rather than guests.
The gym and spa are not operated by the hotel—they're separate providers. Confusingly, the gym pricing varies depending on who you ask, ranging from free to 30 SGD per visit.

- Verity (8/5): We were so pleasantly surprised by this accommodation, Such a convenient spot! - I loved that we had so much space. We had 4 bathrooms and 3 washer/dryers between 7 of us!
Great location- hawker centre next door, mrt station on the other side, gallery across the road (only discovered that the day we left- would have liked to explore more) Chinatown basically 2 streets away. Nowhere for us all to sit to eat but that was ok as we were out a lot or ate in shifts.
Also quite noisy some nights but that was to be expected right next to the food centre, MRT access and a few other eateries. Can’t expect all that and no noise either. Just bring earplugs if you can’t sleep through some noise.
Pretty clean, just a little dusty. Obviously no one uses the kitchen utensils as they were covered in dust as was the hot plate, easier and cheaper to get food from Maxwell food centre I suppose!
- Nyawira (10/5): -
- Veronica (7/5): Charming, conveniently located boutique accommodation for active singles, couples, digital nomads - Habyt Kada was very conveniently located on the doorstep of Maxwell Food Centre and MRT and across the road from Chinatown. The preserved colonial building had been converted into a charming boutique facility suitable for travellers working on the go. The 10% discount on some food outlets was a lovely surprise and the laundry facilities and kitchenette, the work space and wifi were welcome bonuses. The main disadvantage in the smaller rooms (I was upgraded to a larger deluxe for the first three days) was that the walls were rather thin. I could hear the muffled conversations of people in the next rooms. The vintage elevator, apparently Singapore's oldest electric elevator was a unique experience, however, it was not always working properly if guests on other floors did not shut the gate. Whilst not an issue for me, guests with mobility issues or large luggage might have found climbing the stairs to 3rd floor rather difficult.
- Swee Khing (9/5): It was a very pleasant and cozy during this fairly long stay for me. Convenience was paramount and the washer/dryer - Location, location, location. So close to many public amenities and attraction. Finding good places for food is exceptional. The room I stay in was very spacious and comfy. The kitchen was great. Able to wash my clothes frequently and easily. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Appreciate the elevator for someone like me on the elderly side. The floor of the room was not level in some places. Not obvious but you feel in when you stepped on them. Not a dealbreaker though.
- Munkhnasan (8/5): -
- Tiarne (10/5): -
- Gordon (1/5): Nothing good to say at all - Nothing, the lift is complicated to use. It was not stated clearly in Booking.com that this is a co shared space and even if it did mention, there should be some emphasis. Nothing
- Cindy (10/5): - Each room had its own bathroom.
Location was perfect for food. We were spoiled for choice Lack of air conditioner in public places
- Njanji (10/5): - Everything 1 day cleaning
- JUN NAN (7/5):
- Holger (9/5): -
- Witosław (7/5): -
- MELLISSA (8/5): - The convenience. The lift
- Maria Elena (10/5): - Ubicación excelente, cerca de metro, centros de comidas y turismo de chinatown . Habitación con todas las comodidades
- Chung Yee (7/5): - kitchenette, co working space, washing machine the lift when I was leaving didn't work, but I am pretty sure it could be because I didn't use it right. the hotel is on the 3rd floor so it was easy to walk down
- Mahen (10/5): -
- Mona (7/5): Staff was very attentive and quick response. Room location was above bar so endured the loud music. Staff was excellent - Location! Outstanding..surrounded by cafes, food courts, hawker centers and within steps to Chinatown. Loud music from bar during weekends up to 11pm nightly and loud conversation after if your room happen to be above the bars
- Zixu (10/5): -
- Rajan (10/5): - Facilities was extremely good with pleasant bedroom and well equipped bathroom. Wish the room was a little bigger but it's OK.
- mounir (9/5): - proximuité du marché chinois et de la mosquée très peu de restauration halal
- Vilius (10/5): -
- Ha Phuong (4/5): -
- Alberts (7/5): - Great location next to Maxwell Food Centre and MRT. My room was not as it was shown in the pictures. The bathroom is located at the entrance door in the hallway, separated by a glass sliding door, but suitable for a single traveler.
- Michael (10/5): -
- Melissa (8/5): Well situated for food and - Location Location Location
Access to a big shared space for all Citadine guests to escape the smaller rooms Booked 3 bed apartment for a group
Two bedrooms were small
Only access from one side of the double bed.
The oldest lift in Singapore was was quaint but not practical when guests of the roof top restaurant left the door open on lift so no one else had access till someone came down or climbed the stairs to the top to retrieve it,
- Jenny (10/5): I would highly recommend staying at Habyt. My overall experience was pleasant. Staff are responsive with communication b - The AC is cold which is great when you step into the room. The washer and dryer is an added convenience. The common lounge area is a nice, comfortable space to have a few of my friends and my siblings to gather which felt private at certain hours of the day. The location is excellent as Maxwell Hawker Center and MRT are literally next to Habyt. There are also a few restaurants and cafes on the ground level. Everything is nice, just a few suggestions for your consideration. Perhaps Habyt can consider stocking up some coffee and tea to hotel guests who are staying there, as I was told that the coffee and tea there belonged to hotel guests who brought themselves. Also consider putting some coffee and tea in our shared kitchenette in the rooms, since most hotels do provide. Perhaps consider getting a nice coffee machine for guests to enjoy during our stay. Also, perhaps consider having some laundry detergent available for convenience. Although the vintage lift is nostalgic and a nice part of Singapore’s history, it needs to be monitored to ensure it is closed properly at all times to allow it to operate well. Also another consideration, perhaps hire at least one staff member or a security person to be around after 7pm during night time until next morning when the day staff shifts begin.

- Tut (9/5): Good around - This ain’t no 5star resort. But for the travel who wants to get out there this is a great place. The staff are great. The place clean and tidy. The little kitchen can save you $ eating out. The food in the Hawkers market is rubbish. Head for the food halls like at Outram Park. Or the classy ones in Club street Not much of a view
- Sarah (9/5): Good, clean - Very clear and helpful directions re check in. Room clean, with kitchen area shared between two rooms. The common room area was also clean and comfortable, and a great place to meet other guests. There were a number of restaurants and cafes within the building, and the location was great, right next to MRT station and hawker market The lift didn’t work for several days which could have been tricky with luggage
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Arnab (4/5): Disappointing - The elevator doesn't work most of the times because no one shuts it. If you have elderly guests or people with difficulty walking, don't book. You will have to take the stairs majority of the times
- Wayne (3/5): After mucking our friends booking up they stayed at different motel… that was the start of a bad experience - Very little… Photos in ad are deceptive!! Lift continually broken down..
- Michael (10/5): Excellent - The service and staff were amazing - I hope I’m not getting their names wrong, but Azim and Nancy, Jon Er, Latt and Marella, Jerrick and Qaii - they were always attentive and responsive when I needed anything, and made a great trip so much better.
- Terri (1/5): Avoid at all costs – total scam and a disgrace - Location Absolute tourist trap. The lift was broken when I arrived and when I left – clearly not a one-off. The booking was misleading at best, dishonest at worst. What was advertised as a “one-bedroom” turned out to be a communal space shared with a complete stranger. As a solo female traveller, this is absolutely unacceptable. I’m not a student on a gap year — I was working in the city all week.
Raised my concerns and was met with complete indifference. The staff couldn’t care less; their only concern was getting your money. The room itself was a joke — tiny, filthy, with just five hangers and no clothes dryer, so you’re forced to hang your washing out around someone you’ve never met. Hair everywhere, the glass screen in the bathroom was supposed to stop water spraying everywhere, but it was utterly useless – water ended up all over the floor anyway, and the whole place clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly.
I ended up leaving early because I refused to share my space with a stranger, something that was never mentioned in any of the booking info. I went through every single detail — no hint of a shared setup. I even fed this back.
To top it all off, the place is above a bar and absolutely deafening until 2am — not ideal when you’re up for work at 5. Don’t expect to get any sleep.
This place is a complete rip-off. I would never book here again, and I strongly advise anyone considering it to steer well clear. It’s a scam, plain and simple.
- Lim (10/5): Comfy Trip - Location is fantastic! Next by the subway and food center! It's so convenient, love it! Many people! It's a hype place!
- Smitha (8/5): Great location with easy access to food and transport. - The location was excellent, and the room size and facilities were perfect for our family. The staff was friendly, and its close proximity to Maxwell Hawker Centre, the mrt, and many other restaurants makes it an ideal place to stay with family. It does get a little noisy at times because of the restaurants below. Since cleaning is only done once a week, it would be great to have a broom in the room, so we can do a quick clean-up ourselves if needed.
- Wayne (7/5): Good - Great location right next to Maxwell Hawker centre and Chinatown. The old lift is a pain.
- Katy (9/5): Excellent. Good location. I was able to try old style lift which was a new experience. - Good location.
- KIA TOON (6/5): - The room size and equipment were great, but it's ridiculous that there isn't a SINGLE hook anywhere to hang your towel, shirt, or pants.
I had to pick up cheap suction hooks from Daiso, so I had places to hang items that were frequently used. Sure the wardrobe has a bunch of hangers but you don't want to stuff your used day-pants in there. Makes no sense.
The room cleaning only happens on Wednesdays, so you'll also need a hook to hold your garbage in a separate plastic bag. The garbage bin in the room is just too small for a week's worth of trash.
Walls are thin, you'll hear your neighbors or room mates talk on their phone, and all the activity in the shared living space - this was esp apparent when my neighbor was cooking, doing laundry, inviting her friends over, etc.
The 100 year old, very slow lift is cool the first time... but a real pain in the ass to use. You have to pull open two very heavy metal gates, and pull to close them (and ensure they're very closed) before you can hit the button to go up or down. Usually by midnight the lift will stop working... because the bargoers that use the lift forget to close the gates after they've gone to the top floor. And when new guests come in or out, everyone is very confused who should be helping to open or close the inner/outer gates. It's a nightmare when you're a regular guest and all you want to do is just enter or exit the hotel on the 3rd floor. Often, just waiting for the lift takes forever - if it comes at all.
- Patrick (7/5): Good -
- David (4/5): Disappointing - Great location. Very noisy environment (thin walls, leaky windows, noisy street outside, and frequent party music from upstairs). It’s essentially a student dormitory (?) with vacant rooms rented to tourists (and so in my case, the student next door was not happy sharing the washing machine shared by two rooms).
- sagar (8/5): - Amazing!
- Stefan (4/5): Disappointing -
- Adam (9/5): Great location; near to everything, friendly and helpful staff, easy check in - Great Location Shower cubicle could have been cleaner #exitmould
- Scott (8/5): Super convenient location, well appointed room. - 1 minute to Maxwell Food Centre, 1 minute to Maxwell MRT, 3 minutes walk to Chinatown and another MRT - ideal; in the common areas, we could hear some noise from the upstairs bar BUT we couldn't hear it in our room (301); the lift to the 3rd floor was intersting - always seemed to be working but at times someone would leave the cage open on another floor and it wouldn't work. Room was well appointed, could have done with a 2nd easy chair but no big deal, the washing machine, dryer and detergent sheets were a welcome bonus. Bit more instruction when you get there, specifically "Reception is on the 3rd floor, so catch the lift straight up there". We wandered around for 5 minutes on arrival trying to find the entry to the hotel. Few tea bags & coffee sachets in the room wouldn't go astray.
- Rebekah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Faris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caro.85 (9/5): Superb - I had a great stay at this hotel! The room was modern, well-furnished, and perfectly suited for one person. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the amenities were excellent. The staff was very friendly, and I loved the charm of the old elevator in the building. The hotel is in a fantastic location in Chinatown, with great restaurants and cafés nearby. Overall, a wonderful experience—I'd happily stay here again! While I enjoyed my stay overall, there were a few tiny downsides. The room, though modern and well-equipped, felt a bit cramped for two people. The shower’s side panel could have been wider, as water tended to splash out despite being careful. The biggest issue, however, was the noise level—walls were quite thin, and waterflow noises from other bathrooms and showers were very noticeable. Still, the location was excellent, and the hotel's charm and cleanliness made up for these minor inconveniences.
- Peter (7/5): Great stay - Central location
Easy access to multiple food and coffee places Rooms are no sound proofed so any noise from outside will wake you
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - The location is perfect. Very close to Chinatown and Maxwell Food Court. I am quite surprised that they also have gym, sauna, and ice bath for the members . The best things- quite a few cafe and restaurants inside the building so it’s like an all in one hotel!!!
- Wen (10/5): A fusion of past and present, offering a dynamic and convenient experience - I appreciate Habyt Kada's blend of history and modern amenities. The preserved building and antique elevator are unique. Its central location near food and transport is ideal. The wellness facilities and diverse dining options enhance the living experience, offering a convenient and charming stay. gym having limited hours on weekends.
- Lim (10/5): Great stay! - Fantastic location, right next to subway station and Maxwell Food Centre. So many cafés, restaurants, gym and sauna (it's free!) is just within the building! How cool it is! Nothing! I love how I live in there!
- Ying (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ying (10/5): Looking forward to next stay! - It is my second time staying here. It just gets more and more amazing compared to the last time, especially when all of the eateries and wellness facilities have opened in the building itself. Not to mention about the friendliest front desk you can ever found in SG
- Pamela (5/5): Passable - Excellent location The building is a multiuse building and was extremely noisy till very late at night - loud music from events upstairs and restaurants downstairs.
- Yufen (7/5): Good - Location Size of rooms were small
- Stephen (8/5): Great location and very clean rooms with helpful, friendly staff - The Location was fantastic, close to food markets, metro, Chinatown, many restaurants and cafes. Room was clean, great amenities, kitchenette, washing machine, remember they do not have a 24 hr reception but that ok Noise from the entrance of a nearby hotel “the Scarlet” with guests arriving home at 2am - 4am, every night during our 7 night stay!!
- Gary (8/5): Great location - Great location and ambience Photos make it look better than it actually is
- Beth (9/5): Really fantastic place to stay - lots of character, great location at a very reasonable price. - The location is fantastic - right next to the Maxwell Food Centre and the the Maxwell Metro station. We rented a two bedroom suite which was a great deal and worked well for our group. The building is full of character with several coffee shops on the ground floor. The elevator is old which is interesting but not terribly practical. If someone forgets to close the gate on another floor, then it is not able to move to pick you up. Plus it makes a terrible, very loud noise. The suite kitchen was nice but the refrigerator was very small. Its very hot in Singapore and we would have liked a much larger refrigerator to keep more drinks cool.
- Khlim (2/5): Very poor -
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charles (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): - The location was the best for Maxwell Food Market, Dragon Tooth Temple and Chinatown. Also very walkable to MTR stations, our major mode of transportation. The little restaurants on site were very inviting and quaint. The lounge was pleasant. We once brought take out food back to eat in the lounge to escape the crowds and heat. The staff excellent, friendly, and helpful. The room was very compact. I had to climb in to get to the inside of the bed. Also I was not aware that the kitchen area was a shared facility with another room but we never used it. I liked the lounge better. The elevator was fun altho intimidating at first as it shrieked when touched.
The Kada concept seems to work. For the price, it was well worth it as Singapore is quite pricey in the accommodation field.
Love the staff!!
- Mia (1/5): Deceiving images, staff is not flexible and is greedy - Nothing Photos are very deceiving- the place looks very different. Old building, elevator seems dangerous, rooms smell and you can hear noise from other rooms, location could be more convenient. The staff is not flexible and doesn’t comply either refunds despite deceiving the guests.
- Tekleyohannes (1/5): High expectations but it was a scam - It was a scam. Instead of a luxury hotel we arrived at a B&B with very outdated and poor facilities. The expectation was 300 CHF room with 50% discount. The fotos looked phenomenal but it was just a scam.
- Samantha (8/5): Nice and comfy with great location. - Great location and we like the kitchen utilities. Very interesting elevator. They don’t offer extra bed.
- Jeannie (8/5): Very good -
- Sofia (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect. Location, hustle, clean, facility.
