Guest Reviews
- Peter (10/5): We enjoyed our visit and will come back again - Good breakfast. Fresh croissants and bread. Home made jam Nothing
- Valerie (10/5): -
- didier (9/5): Très bien, qualité prix - Il était très bien
- Masson (9/5): -
- Wim (10/5): Perfecte tussenstop - Authentiek, comfortabel en proper. Goed ontbijt. Vriendelijk personeel.
RaS
- Koos (8/5): - We arrived by bike. Great place to stay. A beautuful hidden arboretum behind the hotel.
The Just new owners were very frieny and good hosts.
- Sheila (5/5): -
- Harry (9/5): Superb -
- Henk (8/5): -
- Jenniep (10/5): Exceptional - Really friendly staff and welcome. Great safe secure cycle parking. Hotel situated close to velo Francette so it was well situated for us on our cycle tour. Lovely large room which faced the garden so it was quiet and we had such a good sleep! Hotel restaurant was shut as it was Monday but we were warned about that in advance.
- Graham (8/5): Too short and guest (me) too ill to appreciate properly - I was very ill on arrival at the hotel. The reception staff were excellent in assisting, by calling local paramedics who took me to hospital. On my return, the hotel arranged for us to stay in our original room when we necessarily extended our stay by 24 hours.
We liked everything about the hotel that we were able to use and see, but obviously in view of my medical condition, we were restricted in our enjoyment. I would prefer 24 hour Reception, rather than simply a key-code
- Craig (8/5): Great overnight stop - This hotel is a budget hotel, so the quality was very good in that regard. The staff were very friendly and very helpful, stowing our bikes for the night. We did have quite a few flies in the room, which were slightly annoying, especially in the bathroom in the morning. It was very warm, so we had to have the window open. The restaurant menu on the Sunday evening was very limited, especially if you are not a meat eater, although they did make something off menu. The breakfast was okay, but not great value at all. It's a continental breakfast, but we had to pay extra for meat or cheese, so it's just jams.
- Graham (9/5): Charming Hotel - Nice hotel near a charming French town, very friendly staff and dog friendly Room slightly tired but.basically fine
- Ann (9/5): Just what we needed for a stopover on a touring bike ride. Secure space provided for bike storage. - Slightly quirky but lovely hotel with good food.
- Chris (8/5): Very good - Clean and comfortable. Lovely gardens and helpful staff. The breakfast was limited, mainly bread and cereal, no fruit. It was expensive for what was on offer.
- Gerry (10/5): Fabulous hotel - Spotlessly clean, friendly owner and staff, fabulous gardens at the rear to relax in, safe storage for bikes. Loved our room - spacious, clean, lovely decor and great views over garden.
- Claire (8/5): Lovely breakfast, lots to choose from to eat and cooked breakfast available. - A rustic hotel, we really enjoyed our stay here. The building had lots of character. The restaurant had the most delicious food. My meal was delicious.
The bed could have had a duvet, instead there was only a blanket and a sheet.
I had a restful sleep. The staff were friendly.
Large garden for kids to play in. Really nice breakfast. Friendly, welcoming staff. Nothing
- Fred (9/5): Superb -
- Iñaki (8/5): Very good - nice hotel, good breakfast
- Alex (9/5): comfortable place to stay, reasonable prices, lovely staff, - The hosts are kind and very helpful. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The breakfast is typically French - cereals, bread, jam, croissants etc. The restaurant attached to the hotel is reasonably priced and the food was very good - portions and taste with regional dishes which can be recommended. the only thing that was a little disappointing was the water pressure in the shower.
Also be aware, that if you want to walk up to the city - although its about 1km, this is quite a walk - uphill!
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Staff very good. breakfast for 10 euro so so. restaurant food was excellent overall nice place Only breakfast let it down
- Vivienne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good - Very pleasant staff, food was good value, location fine. Bill for the room was higher than I expected and 10 euros for a mediocre breakfast, with little choice, seemed expensive. (Compared to Ibis!)
- John (8/5): Very good - The room was very good .plenty of space and clean and comfortable
The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble
The location great , restaurant was a mile down the road and very good The only thing was I thought the breakfast was a bit basic imo
- John (8/5): A great hotel with the personal touch - A fine large room with a quality bathroom. Plenty of parking at the front of the hotel. Excellent host, the personal touch is always welcome. As usual with the Logis Hotel, the food was top class, the kitchen has a charcoal grill that has to be seen. Nothing
- Anne (8/5): A peaceful, comfortable stay . The hotel was well placed to explore a beautiful area - Excellent ,plentiful breakfast.
- Christine (8/5): Very good -
- Gwyneth (7/5): Good - Lovely gardens, though in need of attention. Parking included. Restaurant rather slapdash: crumb covered cloths from lunch still on tables at opening time in evening; staff smoking outside right by door so smoke came in
Breakfast: previously boiled kettle left on side so not hot enough to make tea. See
- Miguel (9/5): Superb -
- Ed (8/5): Very good - The hotel is perfectly located to access the Velo Scenic. Our bikes were securely stored, and the restaurant served a very good meal. All was good, we visited 5 years ago when we were on a similar trip.
- Graham (10/5): Exceptional - Good room with great view over the garden. Food and staff very good. Breakfast was a little bit bland for English taste
- Ralf (8/5): Conveniently located hotel at Velo Route „Veloscenic“ - Very friendly staff, with our little French and with their English we made all topics and services clear. Our bicycles were stowed away in a shed and the dinner in attached restaurant was great! Front side rooms go out with their windows to quite busy and noisy major road. We were very happy with our room facing the very quiet back garden.
- Anne (8/5): Enjoyed our stay here, last visit 10 years ago - Location was fine for our needs, breakfast was good
- Brian (9/5): Superb - The dining areas, bar and back gardens were very pleasant. The entire staff was absolutely outstanding.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (9/5): Traditional and unassuming but supremely comfortable - Really lovely hotel. I’ve stayed at some slightly dated French logis and I think I expected a similar experience but actually it was very nice. The exterior and hallways showed some age but the rooms were excellent. Crisp white sheets, comfy bed, excellent shower and a nice dinner. The ladies running the hotel were extremely welcoming and accommodated my bike. I slept for 8+ hours which is unheard of for me in a new location!
- Susan (2/5): Do not stay here - The hotel did not inform us that they would not open until 17hrs - we had cycled 100km and had to wait in the rain. Despite accepting our reservation for dinner they did not inform us the restaurant was closed but offered us a tray with 3 plates one of which could be heated in the microwave by us. This is an out of town hotel and we were on bikes and it was raining hard!
There was no shampoo in the bathroom.
The sheets were rough and scratchy. It must be more than 50 years since we slept with only sheet and blanket - no duvet.
- Stephanie (7/5): Nice hotel with a lovely room. Shame about the lack of anywhere to eat. - Beautiful room overlooking the gardens. The onsite restaurant we were expecting to eat at was closed. No mention that it would be closed when we booked. For some reason it closes on a Friday night.
Left with a long walk up a very steep hill to find anywhere else to eat.
- Jeremy (8/5): Very good -
- Geraldine (8/5): We enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the food at their Grill Restaurant very much. - The place was nice and the staff very friendly. Supply of more shower gel and some shampoo would be nice.
- John (3/5): No food or drink available on a Friday night. An expensive mistake. - Clean room, comfortable bed, on site parking. The restaurant was closed (on a Friday) - sole reason I booked this place;- when you're working, 'on site' feeding at the end of the day is important. There is nowhere to eat nearby unless you either climb the hill into Domfornt, or drive / fight for parking / meander around looking for somewhere to eat. The ridiculously small TV doesn't accept USB - so it's French TV or nothing. You need to be over 2m tall to adjust the valve on the radiator. Door locked at 1930hrs and a creaky old route from front to back (bedrooms) unlit staircase - trip hazards. Limited breakfast choices. Only one other car in the car park - not a very cheerful stay and an expensive error on my part - for €100 you expect better.
- Anzlksf (9/5): Superb - Close to the bike path and free bike storage. Dinner and breakfast supplied.
- Jim (7/5): Perfectly adequate place to stay. - It was fine just nothing special. Nothing really, it was just very ordinary
- Andy (7/5): Disappointed that restaurant was closed but nice otherwise - Lovely auberge with traditional interiors and extensive gardens at the rear with a fine looking restaurant. We arrived by bicycle and a heated secure bike garage was available Sadly the restaurant was closed after an afternoon event so we couldn’t enjoy the food ( which looks great) or the garden terrace which was closed. We had to hike up the very steep hill into Domfront ( apparently no taxis) to get a fairly average pizza. If staying here, check the restaurant will be open, especially if arriving by bike.
- Christof (9/5): a One night stay in a Multiple days Bicycletrip. - A Hotel with Restaurant, so on a Sunday: no worries about arriving and having something to eat.
Rooms nice and spacious, with good bathroom - shower.
Atmosphere: cozy family, recommended.
Good food in the restaurant at Ok price, service there also top notch and with care.
Storage space for my bicycle: no problem.
It was like a blissful 2nd home. /
- Jeremy (9/5): Superb -
- Terri (6/5): Enjoyed our stop off while biking along the Veloscenie. - Friendly and accommodating staff. Separate secured area for bicycles. Flat area of town so easy walk up to the elevated area of town for dining, history walks but easy to keep bicycles and belongings in hotel at base of town. A bit dated and the breakfast was ok.
- Claire (10/5): Not 2 star much better - More like a 4 star, very good Too far out from centre had to drive
- Christina (8/5): Very good - Really friendly, helpful staff. Nothing I could fault.
- Kevin (7/5): a pleasant place to stay - Excellent breakfast. A good choice of breads the rooms are looking a little tired and need redecorating
- Ruth (8/5): Inviting and comfortable - excellent food - Clean, hospitable. Good Not in the center but it was the closest one to the center
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Bright clean room excellent service and food friendly and helpful staff Nothing
- Victoria (8/5): Very helpful staff. Callled is a large taxi when rain prevented us from cycling. Great stop on the. Francette cycle rout -
- Julie (8/5): Very good -
- Mitchell (10/5): Exceptional - Owners staff facilities Nothing
- Mike (9/5): Superb - Friendly helpful staff, who made us a takeaway lunch on short notice. And most helpful as we needed to ride our bikes - Velo- , our host showed us the nearby and flat Voie Verte which led to our destination town of Flers. I recommend enjoying a meal at the Grill attached to the hotel and views of the garden.
- Aneta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jan (8/5): Very good -
- Lairn (8/5): Very good -
- Sophien (7/5): Good -
- Derek (8/5): Very good -
- Janet (10/5): wonderful stay - Very sweet hotel. The lady at the front desk was wonderful we liked everything. No elevators, but we expected that.
- Patrick (7/5): A good resting point after a long day cycling. - it was well situated along the velo Francette and the staff were really lovely. we enjoyed the plentiful and fresh breakfast too. pull out bed in the family room was uncomfortable
- Mr (8/5): It was a friendly hotel and the restaurant was very good for a evening meal. - it was a pleasant area, lovely garden and good parking area. Nice restaurant attached. Good staff Bedroom had to be checked before we could enter. But was fine after the staff had sorted.
- Jayne (7/5): Good - very convenient location and friendly staff the beds were very uncomfortable and we had issues with the bedroom door handle which was broken
- Neilherbert (9/5): Overnight cycling stay - Location and bar restaurant Nothing
- Maria (9/5): Veryrelaxing. - Friendly welcome. Secure garage for our bikes. lovely restaurant. Nothing.
