Guest Reviews
- Janice (8/5): - The staff were outstanding. Location was good I thought the hotel was overpriced.
- Cressman (8/5): We enjoyed our stay. Staff was great - Nice property against ocean on peninsula. Tough spot to get to
- Paul (8/5): - Clean
- Vladimir (9/5): -
- Sofie (8/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): - Bicycles were a little rough. O
- Zoe (9/5): Will definitely stay there again - Located at the mouth of the lagoon, so didn't have the massive sargassum seaweed issues of the beach front in Placencia. Great food and the restaurant was a relaxing place to work, overlooking the water Noise from other quests on the same floor - not the hotel's fault
- Coralie (10/5): superb and authentic home away from home. - Warm friendly staff, well decorated rooms, good food in restaurant. Clean and very comfortable. Very good seaside location close to shopping and restaurants. We felt very safe Ang looked after. We will definitely stay again. We liked everything.
- Smith (9/5): Perfection! - Property is perfect for what we needed. Great location, staff is super nice and met us at the airport. This isnt a super fancy hotel but clean and comfy. Nothing bad to say.
- Leon (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff and clean facilities.
- Charles (7/5): -
- Nina (9/5): -
- Todd (9/5): -
- Alice (9/5): Glad we stayed! - We spent a night before our catamaran trip and a week later a night after. Both times were good.
Owner and staff are very helpful, everything was very clean and although the location is not on a swimming beach it is a pleasant place to hang out and watch the water traffic. Rooms were small and dark, but downstairs is open to sit and relax.
- Alice (9/5): Retro vibe with great view! - The restaurant and location on the water is very nice. Looking out on the water with sandy area to sit and enjoy the view. The staff and owner were very helpful. The food was good and reasonably priced. It had the feeling of being set in the 60's-70's with I'm sure many repeat visitors. It isn't a resort, but a nice place to spend a few days in Placencia The rooms are small and dark. But no need to stay in the room when you can hang out in the cafe and sandy area at any time day or night.
- Rozi H (4/5): - Shower would not drain. Was not clean. Room was very old and didn't feel clean.
- Ralph (9/5): - Quite place, friendly staff. Nothing.
- Lyndon (9/5): I had a personal reason for staying at a hotel associated with the name Alan but this was truly a touch of paradise. - Location, near to town yet very secluded and quiet. Right on the beach. Free use of bikes and kayaks; big plus! Great staff. Nothing stood out as a dislike at all.
- Jessica (8/5): -
- MARK (8/5): -
- Melanie (10/5): Would stay there again - Alan's Shrimp Fettuccine was excellent. Best meal in Belize.
- Jamie (8/5): - Loved the location!
- Charles (10/5): - Hot water. Right on the beautiful beach A bit difficult to find as the streets are not marked in Belize
- Maximilian (8/5): -
- John (9/5): Great location to relax. - Great location, nothing fancy but everything works, comfortable bed and helpful staff. Quiet nights. Everything as promised and quick to respond to special requests. Could use some more comfortable chairs in room.
- Villanueva (10/5): -
- en (8/5): - Close to main area, good staff
- Luckerath (10/5): - great waterfront location close to everything. Kayaks were in great condition I was able to explore all over with them and the restaurant was soo tasty nothing I didn't like
- Shawn Jones (9/5): Placencia Hidden Gem - Charming, perfect location and wonderful people. Great service and helpful with anything we needed. If you want to stay in center of town, this is it!!
- JuliCab (1/5): -
- Julia (9/5): - Great location, far enough out of town to be peaceful but close enough to walk into the town.
Alan has kayaks and bike's that are free to lend
We found them a great bonus and used both.
Friendly staff.
Very quite at night
- Marcy (7/5): - Great staff. Airport pick up and drop off No microwave or coffee pot. A bottle holder in the shower would be nice
- Shawn (8/5): - It was perfect for a few days to check everything out!
- Pete (9/5): - The location was wonderful, although a bit hard to find cause you have to park a block away and walk in. The staff will come get your luggage tho, so that is nice. The hotel is right on the water with great views. They also allow you to use bikes and kayaks for free which was really nice. Room was well furnished. The restaurant on site was a bit pricey and the food was just so-so. Would have been nice to get instructions for arrival as it was a bit confusing, but not too bad as there are signs if you know where to look.
- Roland (10/5): - Great location. Bicycles included. Great restaurant. Friendly owners. Our bathroom window was sealed shut and there was no fan so the bathroom stayed wet.
- Lisa (6/5): - Things were fixed when we asked, clogged shower drain & tv. Room didn’t face the ocean. The rooftop area was dirty & not kept up. The dock bar was not open the entire week.
- Bill (9/5): - Location, staff and food were excellent. Nothing
- David (9/5): -
- Cheyne (6/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): - The staff are always very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the upstairs suite, beautiful views.
- Warren (7/5): - Great everything Access
- SIMON (8/5): Comfy and great location for enjoying Placencia - Large comfy and clean room with a kitchenette where they provided coffee which was a nice touch. The bathroom was also great with a very powerful and warm shower a real highlight after lots of lukewarm dribbly showers elsewhere on our trip. There was a nice beachside area with chairs to relax. The staff were friendly and collected and dropped us off for our onward journey. No real view from the bedroom as we were at the back of the property.
- Louise (8/5): Quiet. Safe. Chilled. Kind. - Clean. Simple. Quiet. Safe. Ocean view.
Alan is kind and helpful - as is his wife - happy for guests to borrow a kayak or a bike. Had to covet the flashing light on the smoke alarm because its a super bright LED!
- Crawford (10/5): Try to stay here when in Placencia. Clean, good location, accommodating. Overall, great place -
- Cheryl (7/5): Comfortable & friendly for the budget traveller. Good vibe. - A quiet location while being close to town. The standout for us were the staff! They were fantastic, friendly and also flexible with our dietary restriction. Great water pressure and hot showers were so pleasant after being in the ocean. Also, If you head out to the private pier at night you might see some interesting sea life. It’s great to have access to kayaks and bikes. American football playing on the tv all day took away from our sense of a tropical getaway. Felt a bit uncomfortable with the owners and their party sitting all day in the middle of the restaurant, like they were overseeing the staff.

- Crawford (10/5): great value, friendly and helpful staff - Staff are wonderful. Met us at the Placencia airport, took us to the water taxi the next morning. Then did the same thing in reverse at the end of the week. They remember if you have been there before and are extremely accommodating. Location is walking distance to everything. We have stayed there before and will again.
- Herbert (10/5): - The diving and food were excellent! They tell you up front and it is true. The accommodation ate not 5 star, no hot water, shared showers and heads, no laundry, no access to shops. Make sure you know what to expect.
- Rafal (9/5): - Great location, close to everything, multiple bars, restaurants and coffee shops. Shower pressure was great, soap, shampoo and conditioner were provided. No clear signage from the street, accidentally walked through someone's backyard. Easier to access from the beach
- Isa (10/5): - Amazing staff. Amazing location. Great room. We will 100% be back.
- Don (9/5): The staff, location, food and prices make this property a very good deal for the rates they charge. - The property located close enough to the village to easily walk there but far enough away to be quiet. Not that easy to sleep in as noise from guests and staff can be heard easily through the walls.
- Pedersen (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing, no rush or pressure to do anything! It was all about me and they did deliver. - I met the most amazing staff at Alan's Paradise Resort. I had Kay serving me hot coffee and a breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast. Julie served me dinners and some delicious Belkin beer which is made right in Belize. My most memorable meal would have to be lobster tail with a baked potato with all the trimmings. Alan always wanted to know if I was enjoying myself. Yes Alan, I had the most amazing vacation and your resort, staff and kindness made all the difference. Thank you to Jeffery for always making sure that I had enough towels and toiletries. Thank you everyone for making this special xo There was absolutely nothing that I did not like! The people who run this resort are so kind and willing to make whatever special meal you would like. I give you guys a 20 out of 10!!
- Marie (10/5): - Très bien situé. Au calme mais proche de tout. Accès direct à la plage. Très belle terrasse avec restaurant. Bonne cuisine. Chambre très propre. Prêt de vélo gratuit pour se déplacer ce qui est très appréciable. Très bon contact préalable. On vient vous chercher à votre arrivée. Bref je ne peux que recommander.

- Marie (10/5): Perfection - Fabulous location, beautiful scenery and really quiet. Bikes and kayaks are freely available and there’s a small beach and a great pier too. The restaurant is very spacious and a good range of food and drink options. However the rooms are the jewel in this crown, large, immaculately clean and serviced everyday. We had no 7 and we had white silky sheets and white fluffy towels with an abundance of hot water in the shower and the washbasin. Soap and toiletries are provided too and there are loads of sockets. Alan’s is a short walk from the bigger beach with more bars and restaurants. The staff are fab and the manager is so helpful too. Alan is ever present and has a wealth of knowledge and a dry sense of humour. We would love to return
- Kirsten (10/5): The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. They offer the use of kayaks and bicycles which was so wonderful to have - This hotel is located in a perfect spot for walking to the village or the local dive shop. Nothing…it was just wonderful all around
- Flores (10/5): -
- Erzsebet (9/5): Paradise at the gulf of Honduras - Nicely situated on the beach, on the more quiet part of town, but nearby the restaurants and shops. Nice big balcony with nice shade or covering when the rain came down. The palm tree right in front of our balcony, blocking the view of the sea.
- Debra (10/5): Exceptional - Everything We liked everything
- Leon (9/5): Superb - Great location, comfy bed and clean rooms
- Dia (8/5): Very good - Very convenient and clean. Nice sea view but obstructed by trees. Staff was friendly and helpful. Balcony was not private and secure. Parking was about 2 city blocks away. Location was hard to find.
- Margaret (8/5): A lovely low key setting. - It was a perfect setting and launching off point for exploring the area. The resort is well laid out and welcoming. nothing
- John (5/5): Passable - Free loaner bicycles so we could explore the area. Room was clean. Free airport shuttle was very helpful. Food was average. Loud news on TV made it difficult to talk while at the bar.
- Michelle (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (10/5): It was a great stay and would stay there again. - I loved the use of a bike and kayak, transportation to/from airport. Staff was really nice and very accommodating when I had questions and needs. Wish their restaurant didn't have America news on the TV most of the time. On vacation, I am not trying to keep up with what is going on. I am trying to relax.
- Haynes (10/5): Paradise - basic rooms with great staff and restaurants!!! locationnus quiet waterfront close to everything.... too short of.stay!
- Crawford (8/5): Great value for a clean cool room. -
- Tim (7/5): Good - Helpful staff, free kayaks and the location was great. Extremely overpriced for plain rooms. Fox news is playing all day in the restaurant, the overtly political network.
- Manson (9/5): Great location. Enjoyed our week here. - Clean, nice place, friendly people. View from our balcony in room 11 was lovely. Room was spacious and comfy.
- Tracy (8/5): Very pleasant stay.enjoyed the kayaks and Ike’s - Loved having bikes to get around. Loved the location. Friendly staff Our room didn’t have a window
- John (9/5): A real gem - Great location on the water. Friendly staff
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jerry (8/5): Fun in the Sun - The owners of the property will
Make it like you’re visiting your your favorite grandma and grandpa they will make you fill right at home. They have the best staff. Some of the best food I had came out of Allen’s resort. If you can make a suggestion on a dish they will try it for you. Not much of a swim able beach but free use of kayak to public beach was fun.
- Barbara (8/5): I ❤️ Belize 🇧🇿 - Very nice location right on the beach and walking distance to the town. Fantastic staff and good food. Dinner and breakfast.
- Karen (9/5): Superb - I can't rate this hotel highly enough. Such warm competent staff. Shuttle from the bus terminal and to the airport was included. Spacious clean room that had a well equipped kitchenette was quiet and being just off the main street but well placed for all amenities. A blissful water front to watch the sun go down. Excellent value for money . Nothing I didnt want to leave.!
- Patty (8/5): Comfy, neat harbor marina, nice waterfront walking path - Old school hotel feel - like a olden movie setting - clean - people very friendly - helpful with transportation.
- Candice (5/5): Though clean, the room we were in was cramped and dark. Pretty awful really. The location is good. No drinking water - Nice people There are three good rooms overlooking the sea. The rest are cramped and unappealing. There is no drinking water provided. Some rooms don’t have windows.
- Tyler (9/5): Superb -
- Fredrick (9/5): We would highly recommend staying at Alan's Paradise Resort while visiting Placencia Village, Belize - We were picked up at the Placencia airport by a very helpful and kind gentleman from Alan's Paradise Resort. The alley leading to the resort seemed a bit sketchy but as we reached the resort, we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely building and amazing location on the beach! The owner's Alan and Delores, as well as their staff were very welcoming and assisted us many times with setting up excursions, making phone calls and preparing wonderful meals which we enjoyed in their beautiful on-site restaurant. The room was small but comfortable and clean and had everything we needed, as well as the neighborhood rooster alarm clock! The resort may be a bit difficult to access from the road. The only access was a narrow alley that can be a bit uncomfortable for those unfamiliar to the area. We did get locked out one evening, as the door to enter the upstairs rooms was locked for security. We failed to bring our code to the door lock. We were eventually let in by the owner who was hospitable about the situation. Do not forget your code card!
- James (8/5): Very good - Best water pressure in Belize. Comfortable. Breakfast potatoes. Roof deck. On the water. No in room coffee.
- David (9/5): Superb - Very nice location on the southern end of the peninsula, overlooking the bay where the sailboats are moored. No direct road access, but there is a short walking path from a back road, which is also open to bicycles and golf carts. The owners and staff were very willing to use their golf carts to transport people and their luggage as needed. Onsite laundry facilities, they wash, dry and fold your stuff for a small fee. Onsite bar and restaurant with plenty of seating and a great view.
- Ritchie (9/5): Superb -
- Ritchie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Will (10/5): It is worth the price - shower is great The space of bedroom is smaller
- Michelle (10/5): Great location and friendly staff - The resort was a great location, easily walkable to many great restaurants, shopping and tours. The rooms although older, were clean and comfortable. Great water pressure and hot water. The owner was very helpful with recommendations. The staff was friendly and had coffee ready!
- Garey (10/5): Enjoyed a peaceful quiet week. - Friendly people, good food, nice quiet location.
- Thompson (10/5): A nice, low-key working vacation. - I had accidentally booked a day later than my arrival date, but the owners went out of their way to accomodate me, my wife, and her neice. The room did not have space for a computer, so they let me set up in the dining room. They were great hosts, and the staff was friendly and helpful as well. We definitely recomment them.
- Leukanech (10/5): Wonderful - The bar area/dining very good with a big TV to watch sports. Good and reasonably priced food. Right on the water with a pier. It's all good.
- Buirgy (8/5): Very good -
- Sally (8/5): Very good - Free use of kayaks Parking
- Vanegas (8/5): Very good - secure doors beds needed a little reinforcement
- Edgar (8/5): Good experience - All that you need for a couple of nights stay is there, a quiet area to have a good night sleep. You can't park In front of the hotel, It's not far from the main road though, if it's raining you will get wet and the connecting road will be filled with water.
- Meliniotis (10/5): Exceptional - Great place the staff and owners are all really nice. Great location as well Nothing
- Ken (8/5): Exelent bargain for the price - Staff was very friendly and the location is good. If I'd let them know they would have offered me a ride from the airport Bed was a bit hard and a dead cockroach on the floor
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Buirgy (8/5): Very good -
