- Ferdinando (9/5): - Todo bien. Exelente el personal. En especial Ismael, siempre dispuesto
- Franco (7/5): -
- Camilla (10/5): Amazing - Location. The room with sea view was incredibile.
Ismael and Marieangel were simply fantastic, help us with everything and are incredibile cooks. Nothing
- Omar (10/5): -
- Lauren (10/5): - Friendly staff, delicious breakfast, comfortable bed
- Marie-Thérèse (9/5): Wonderful, relaxing stay - Casa Dos Almas is located directly at the Mendihuaca beach, features a beautiful common area and nicely designed rooms that are worth the price. We came here after the strenuous Ciudad Perdida hike and found what we were looking for: relaxation. The terrace had an amazing view of the mountains and palm trees. Cleaning was provided daily and staff on site was always friendly. You can’t really swim at the beach here but you can cool off in the river close by. You can even go by boat to Tayrona park. One thing that could be improved is adding prices to the breakfast menu otherwise people might get the impression that it is always included. Staff does not speak English at all so it was a bit complicated to communicate sometimes although everyone gave their best.
- Dea (10/5): Would love to come back. - It was beachfront and well taken care of.
Ismael and Mary were super kind hosts and there for us for everything we needed.
This made our experience so good and enjoyable. -

No recibimos ninguna disculpa.

- tu (10/5): - The staff is super friendly, very helpful, they gave me very good tips on how to visit Tairona and also the nightlife scene. I had the opportunity to join the staff as they were adding some items to the food menu, and they were kind enough to invite me to sample the new dishes. By the way the breakfasts are amazing!
- Vanessa (10/5): - La casa hermosa y acogedora, vistas hermosas y Vanessa una anfitriona inmejorable.
- Peter (8/5): - Everything was really good. I didn’t like that there was not enough ventilation and became very hot, even with the fan at full speed.
On s’y sent immédiatement bien.
- Santiago (6/5): - Value for money
- Nikolas (8/5): - Great host and staff. Very chilled and cute place The rooms do not have outside walls which to some people it might be an issue, ie privacy, noise etc. Personally I liked the concept.
- laura (9/5): - Struttura molto bella e ben situata.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Xavier (9/5): Superb - Great cute hotel with nice staff ! Recommended to a friend Maybe to include breakfast
- Johanna (9/5): Great tropical experience at the beach front! - The property is beautifully built right in front of the ocean. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with great views of the tropical mountains or the beach. Breakfast was delicious freshly made by Mari and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Jose, the property manager was very helpful and accommodating! He helped us booking had great massages, at any time of the day. I would definitely recommend a stay here The walk to the house is long from the parking and there is no walkway. Usually not a problem unless you have heavy luggage. The shower only has cold water, which is great for the temperature but was hard for showering my two year old at night.
- Jorgensen (5/5): Cute hotel right on the beach with a short ride to Tayrona park! - I enjoyed the close proximity the river and beach. I didn’t like the bugs in the room that got in between the floor and the doors. I also didn’t like the communications from the hotel. The hotel is located in a remote place with no ATM for over an hour in either direction, and they did not warn guests of this.
- Charlotte (10/5): Amazing place in a hidden paradise. Nice and clean with a lovely staff! - Such a cute place in the middle of a small paradise beach. The place has a lovely vibe and very wonderful staff and service! The rooms were very nice and clean, and the breakfast was very good. We really enjoyed staying here! Would definitely come back!
- Clair (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (8/5): Glamping Paradise - A wonderful beachfront experience! We stayed in the 3rd floor suite and we're greeted with ocean breezes and beautiful views. The room was comfortable but it's helpful to know that it's a little closer to "glamping" than a typical hotel room. The walls are not sealed and there's a large open air window in the bathroom so you're living with nature - many geckos in particular, which we enjoyed. There's no hot water (or even a nob) but a cold shower is welcomed in the heat. The location is stunning but you need to be prepared to carry your suitcase about 5 minutes down the beach in the sand or have cash on hand to pay a friendly local to do it for you.
I highly recommend if you're looking for something on the beach and off the grid.
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing stay on the beach, with gracious and helpful hosts. Helped coordinate adventures and transportation.
- Daniela (8/5): Beautiful place on the beach - Beautifully decorated and very nice host. We had several roaches in our luggage, no hot water and I didnt think that getting there by foot with luggage would be a big deal but it was a bit of a walk.
- Iris (10/5): Amazing location, highly recommended! - The location of the hotel is unbeatable, right in front of the sea and at just few steps from a crystal waters river (which is very convenient as the sea can be very rough). Is also very close to Costeño Beach party places and just 15 minutes away from beautiful Tayrona Park.
The hotel is stylishly decorated and is full of small details. The beach front suite was super beautiful and the experience of sleeping with the sound of the ocean waves was just simply amazing. Sunrises are crazy beautiful.
People from staff were super helpful and friendly, they gave us great tips to discover the area and we made the cacao tour and the horseback riding tour which was unbelievable.
Breakfast was delicious.
- Issy (7/5): Beautiful shared wooden house on the beach - Beautiful wooden house right on the beach, with very well designed interior.
Very good communication and host kindly booked us a taxi for our departure.
Breakfast was delicious. The host passed on the debit card payment fees to us (an additional COP 30,000) despite my initial request to pay in cash as we had left over COP, which I feel needed to have been highlighted and leaves a bit of a sour taste. By paying by card I was doing them a favour but then was charged extra.
Mosquito nets are needed to be installed as this was the only place we were bitten at night during our 2 weeks in Colombia and this did affect our stay.
Hot water would be nice.
- Suhas (8/5): Very good - Amazing location near pristine mangroove forest rivers which also had kayaking. Beach right in front with green cocnout plantation and rainforest from the balcony at the back. Great live music next door with a cocktail bar of drinks we enjoyed like coco loco. We couldnt use the kitchen shown in the pics to cook our own meals. It was a bit misleading to see that pic.
The parking lot to Casa dos almas was not stroller friendly and it was hard to pull the stroller and heavy luggage on beach sand. But we got porter support.
It will be good to mention this in the reservation so guest are not negatively surprised when making the reservation.
There was also no hot water showers. It was also not mentioned in the booking.
- Marta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jain (1/5): Bad - The property is a scam, the reviews are fake. Don’t go by the reviews. The manager is a rude and racist and does not give any information. It’s unhygienic and not clean. The towels and bed sheet stink. We were there for 2 nights on night one we have no electricity and no water and they said it was because of a storm, but the rest of the beach had generators and electricity. The 2nd night my shower was broken and they said oh it’s because of the water pressure. The manager doesn’t give any relevant info. The beach is not what it is in the pics it’s not a good beach for swimming. They say you can go by boat from there to tayrona but after speaking to locals we realised it’s not safe to go by boats and many accidents have taken place.
After all this, they offered me a discount so I can not review them negatively, save your money and book the hostels that are next to this hotel instead. Much better and nicer people
- Jake (10/5): Perfect! - Lovely setting, room looks onto the beach. Breakfast finishes early
- Sam (10/5): A beautiful beach side accomodation - The staff were fantastic (especially the host Joseph) and made us feel totally relaxed and at home. The beach location was amazing with surfing, river kayaking and easy access to Tayrona (by boat, bus or taxi). This was the nicest and safest feeling place we stayed during our trip to Colombia.
- Nikola (10/5): Great stay on the beach - At the beach, in the place where water is nice and no big waves. The host is amazing and will help with everything! The style is also very sweet. Breakfast is delicious! Nothing. Maybe they can offer to buy mosquito spray as that is something you will need it!!!
- Giovanni (10/5): Exceptional - Owner is awesome, gave us a lot of helpful info and helped us out when we had to figure out what to do with our luggage when we had activities planned for the day we checked out.
- Lucy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (8/5): If I come back to Santa Marta, I’m staying here again. Josep and casa dos almas is incredible. - Josep the manager was awesome. One of the best hotel managers I’ve experienced.
The room was always top notch clean and they used repellent to keep the mosquitos out. I loved the vibe and no shoes allowed inside vibe. This isn’t really a con if the property, but just be aware that in ALL locations in this area, there will be mosquitoes outside. You are in the jungle it’s natural. But they destroyed my legs and it did affect my quality of stay slightly.
- Morgan (10/5): Basically paradise. - The beach is beautiful, clean and peaceful. Furthermore, it feels really safe. The design is tasteful, the breakfast was delicious, and the hosts were really helpful, lovely, and friendly! I honestly can't think of anything I didn't like.
- Iris (10/5): The perfect place for beach holidays - Staying at this beach house was an absolute delight from start to finish. We were struck by the beautiful decor, which perfectly blended coastal charm with modern style. The atmosphere was both relaxed and welcoming, making us feel instantly at home. Our room. The master suite was simply amazing with an unforgettable panoramic view of the sea specially at sunrise.
The hosts were warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful. They ensured that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Whether it was recommending local restaurants, spots to explore or the most exciting tours close by. We enjoyed the tubing in a near river and Tayrona park trek.
The breakfasts were nothing short of amazing.
We highly recommend staying at this house. Nothing, everything was fantastic both in the house and surroundings.
- Agathe (6/5): Bittersweet stay - Beautiful hotel, and nicely located within Mendihuaca. While the aesthetic appeal of Casa Dos Almas was undeniably impressive, our stay quickly turned sour. The beds, unfortunately, were hard to the point of discomfort, and its small size made for a cramped experience. The noise from the overhead fans, coupled with the intrusive sounds from neighbouring rooms (although no one was loud, you do hear peoples' low chatters), significantly disrupted our sleep.
While the owner was undoubtedly charming when my partner voiced out the noise issue, we felt that her blaming it on the neighbours was somewhat dismissive. Given the lack of shared walls with the hotel next door, it was more than evident that the disturbance originated from within the building. It's a shame that such a beautiful property was marred by these issues, which ultimately detracted from our overall stay. I guess, those can be fixed someday.
- Victoria (10/5): Wonderfully relaxing - Lovely design, very calming and a very homely. Josep was incredibly helpful with anything we needed. Breakfast is delicious. The beachfront where the hotel is located has a nice community feel to it. Nothing.
- Tomás (9/5): Superb - Joseph was super friendly and gave us lots of useful tips and information about the region.
- Mats (10/5): Amazing. Highly recommend! - This is such a wonderful place. Aesthetically pleasing. Great breakfast. Very friendly en helpful host. We slept in the room with ocean view. Just a precaution to bring some ear plugs, because the sea can be quite loud.
- Agnieszka (10/5): Perfect stay near Tayrona - I was looking for a quiet place by the beach to wind down after over a month of travelling and that’s exactly what I found at Casa dos Almas. The location is very convenient, just at the edge of Tayrona and by the Mendihuaca river (which is a nice swimming alternative on the days when the sea is choppy). The hosts are very accommodating and the decor of the whole place is fantastic, in particular the top suite. Nothing! I would love to stay there again.
- Marcela (9/5): Amazing place! We will.be back soon!!! - We loved Joseph's hospitality, the location, and the many stylish details of the house. Breakfast was exceptional and our room's view to the beach was amazing. This is a great place to enjoy a peaceful time in a hidden paradise where the sea and a river meet. The bathrooms could
be a bit better.
- Maria (10/5): Paradise on earth. - The best way to describe Casa dos Almas is Paradise on earth! The staff friendliness and availability makes you feel right at home. The room was beautiful with stunning views. We loved everything.
- Philipp (10/5): Exceptional - Casa Dos Almas is the perfect retreat on the beach, especially if you are taking the suite at the top & listening to the waves in the evening. The breakfast was amazing, so were the recommendations on & off the beach. Nothing major, the WiFi could be upgraded to Starlink for consistent connections. A mosquito net would be a plus.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - Super close to the beach
Lovely friendly staff
Nice community of beachfront properties beside each other with a little beach bar at the end
Great breakfast! N/a
- Marcos (10/5): Exceptional - Casa dos Almas is simply a magical place, a peaceful accommodation located in front of the sea on Mendihuaca beach.
We stayed in a double room with a sea view located on the second floor. If we could describe our room in one word, it would be cozy. Everything was very clean, tidy, and beautiful, with a spectacular view of the sea under the shade of an almond tree. The bed and bathroom were very comfortable, and the room had a fan (air conditioning is not needed with the sea breeze).
The accommodation has very comfortable and pleasant common areas. We had the option of breakfast included, but we opted for the "Napolitan eggs," which were very delicious. Thanks to Maria and Ela for everything, very friendly staff. Joseph has been one of the best hosts we have met, making our experience much more enjoyable, always attentive and kind. He instructed us very well about the place, helped us with everything we needed, and guided us on some activities like the Cacao Tour; he knows a lot about the area and told us about the culture and biodiversity.
Probably many have not heard about Mendihuaca beach; it is a recent destination for tourists but offers tranquility and spectacular landscapes, located a few kilometers from Tayrona National Park and with easy access to the city of Santa Marta and nearby places of interest like the Sierra Nevada, Palomino, and other beaches. There are various activities available such as kayaking, surfing lessons, massages, among others, and transportation to other areas of the region is easy through moto-taxis. The local cuisine is not very extensive but offers more than enough delicious options, with Humbe as a recommendation, though all the restaurants we tried were delicious.
We highly recommend this place for those who want to spend some time disconnecting and relaxing.
- Camacho (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful time at Casa dos almas. The staff are warm and welcoming, and they help us to plan local tours to enjoy the area. The room was cozy and clean. Waking up with the sound of waves is unforgettable. Thank you for the amazing breakfast! I can't think of anything
- Iva (10/5): Cozy natural wonderful house - The location is great, right at the beach, and mangrove forest right behind the house. There are good food options near by and bar next door. There is no shoes policy which keeps the place clean, but also gives you natural, comfortable and cozy feeling. It is decorated tastefully, with a lot of natural material, beautiful forest view, and sea breeze. Have in mind if you are coming from Europe or elsewhere the 110V plugs, the place has just enough infrastructure to feel comfortable, but be mindful it’s in nature. Setting is beautiful with river and the ocean, and staff was really helpful about where to eat, helping us arrange the transport from the airport, and we were pretty demanding guests. Also there have 3 adorable kitties in the house. Only thing for me was the size of the bed I am 180cm and beds were on smaller size, it’s standard Colombian size, but might be to smaller size compared to Europe. Overall it was a great experience.
- Flint (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was amazing, the location was great!!!! Would definitely go back here again! Can't think of anything
- Maria (10/5): Beautiful, comfortable, cozy and amicable place! the best choice in Mendihuaca. - The stay at Dos Almas, was beyond excellent. We went with our 1 year old baby and we felt like visiting family. Javier and the rest of the staff were super helpful and very kind. They had a good chat and an excellent breakfast, very healthy. Our room had a direct view to the sea and the hotel is very close to the Mendihuaca river, for children this is a plus! so the can have a safe splash.
They recommended the best restaurants and some places to visit.
Many thanks guys for this unforgettable stay in Santa Marta, we hope to see you again! abrazos desde Londres!
- Maëlle (10/5): Exceptional - Everything! The place is amazing, the building itself is beautiful. The room was big, with a great view on the beach. Very friendly people, we felt very welcomed. Great place to disconnect and relax! n/a
