Er lekte voortdurend water uit de douchecabine. Handdoeken worden alleen vervangen als u erom vraagt, ze brengen dus niet zelf handdoeken mee. De douchekop is kapot en blijft niet stabiel staan. Ze vragen veel geld voor verblijf dit soort dingen moeten gedaan worden.

• Gerçek (1/5): Appartement en chantier, sale et dangereux — établissement malhonnête à éviter absolument. - Absolument rien. L’expérience a été décevante du début à la fin. L’immeuble était en plein chantier, avec des câbles électriques qui pendaient dans le hall d’entrée. Notre chambre était elle aussi en travaux : murs non terminés, portes manquantes (seuls les cadres en aluminium), sol couvert de poussière et éclairage très insuffisant, surtout dans la salle de bain. Nous avons dû passer la première nuit faute d’alternative, puis avons quitté les lieux dès le lendemain. Le gérant avait promis de nous rembourser les dernières nuits, promesse jamais tenue. Expérience scandaleuse, à fuir absolument.

• SergD71 (3/5): I will not recommend the hotel to anyone - Convenient location close to the port and to the ferry in order to get quickly to the city center A two-room room with a kitchen was ordered upon arrival, it turned out that there was no such room available, we were placed in an ordinary one - room without a kitchen,which spoiled our entire vacation. Room are old with old renovation and very stale plumbing
• Murat (1/5): Leider absolut unzufrieden - Nur die Zentrale Lage, mit dem Personal hatten wir nicht viel Kontakt, aber die zwei Kontakte, die wir hatten, war freundlich. Die zwei Räumlichkeiten im Kellergeschoss sind furchtbar, ist echt eine Zumutung, das Bad stinkt, die Badvorrichtungen sind verrostet, Schranktüren, teilweise kaputt. Wir haben beide Zimmer genutzt, sind vom einen Zimmer ins andere gezogen. Gegen Aufpreis, im ersten Zimmer hatten wir ganz kleine Fenster, und viel zu viel Lärm über Nacht, konnten nicht schlafen, im zweiten Zimmer gab es keine Fenster nach draußen. Im übrigen war das Treppenhaus nicht sauber. Zu den oberen Zimmern kann ich nichts sagen.

Definitely a good choice, - The stuff - however they didn’t speak good English - was very very nice, feels like a family business. They were very welcoming and made me a super nice Turkish breakfasts, included in the price. Location is just awesome. My room was in the basement without windows. Also, I think a little refurbishment could improve a lot for this little, cute hotel.

I have provided credit card information through the booking to make a reservation and one week later my credit car was charged multiple times (3000 TRY in total) otuside of Booking from another hotel in Istanbul, located in the same street. The staff did not respond to my mesaages until threatend with the tourist police. The owner was calling me on WhatsApp multiple times and is denying any connections to the tranasactions.
• Yulia (10/5): A small capsule coffee machine in the room would be magical. - My friend and I came here for a vacation, and Our two-room suite with a large terrace at this hotel was perfect for us. We were greeted warmly and offered tea while we waited for our room. The staff was very helpful. The room was very cozy, and the terrace was magnificent, with a view of the Bosphorus and the Sultanahmet Temples. It's perfect for morning coffee, a smoke, and enjoying the view. The beds are very comfortable, perfect for a large family or group of friends. The hotel is conveniently located in the Moda district, near the pier and the promenade, a tram stop, and plenty of cafes and restaurants. This is where you can really get a feel for Istanbul life.

• Marnie Otto (2/5): Do not stay here. find another place. - the neighborhood great. other then that, nothing much. the place should not be for rent on booking.com - misleading information and booking did not offer much help. Where to start. i rented the 1 bedroom w/ a kitchen. This was not a kitchen. rather a broken stove, no dishes, no utensils, etc. only a little frig and a kettle. secondly - i asked before i booked if they had internet that worked. was assured that it worked - well not inside the unit i rented. and the kicker was that on the 4 day of my stay - i booked for 1 week - i was told that i had to move to another room in 10 minutes because workman had to renovate my room. and not one person on site communicates in english. everything seemed to be no big deal to them. and booking.com was not much help either. i ended up just leaving and finding another place. i do not recommend. false advertising. and the place is super run down, everything broken.

Нам пощастило тільки в одному чоловік розмовляє турецькою. Коли ми подзвонили нам закинули зовсім іншу адресу. І коли ми вже знайшли готель то мене ще більш шокувало.. тому що вони пропонують гарні кімнати. А селять зовсім в інші. Як виявилось нас поселили в кімнаті де колись був хамам. Я просто була в шоці. Ми тільки переночували одну ніч. А плату з нас зняли за два дні.

• Cales_1985 (4/5): Horror dream in Istanbul - The location of the hotel is ideal to explore the Asian side of Istanbul, but also to visit the European side it is perfectly located near the port to cross the Bosporus or to take the metro. There is a tram station nearby the hotel, and you do not hear the sound of the tram inside the hotel, which is a plus! Our room was very spacious. The hotel is not called Es Moda anymore, but the name has been changed to Moda Suites. Furthermore, the hotel needs a complete refurbishing, many things are broken or are damaged (see attached photos). The whole hotel smells after sigarettes, although smoking is not allowed. The water boiler did not turn off (very dangerous!) The personel is friendly, but they can only speak some words of English. When talking to them about the bad situation in the room, the personel could not help us, as they did not understand anything.
• Niels (1/5): Never again - don't go here - Location is the only positive point to mention here. It's close to the harbour, where you can take ferry or metro to the European side of the city. This accommodation is unworthy of the name “hotel”. It's dirty, old and worn out. The corridor stinks (despite the air filters on every possible location. Room seemed okay at first sight, but a lot of problems were discovered during our stay: broken chair, broken electric kettle, no curtain for roof window, very dark bathroom with leakings, and a very noisy airco, which at one point became a waterfall - our bed was completely wet because of this. When I went downstairs to complain, they said they will take care of it. When we came back in the evening, they just flipped the mattrass. We chose this hotel because of the location and because of the breakfast included. When arriving, it was very clear that breakfast was not included at all - and that you would need a lot of time if you wanted to take breakfast in the hotel (breakfast starting at 9:30). Because of the overall hygienic situation of the hotel, we did only take breakfast once (which was proposed to us to make up for all the problems we (and our family in another room) experienced. Communication with the staff was very difficult - they cannot speak a word of English.

• Guest (1/5): Все ужасно. - Ничего не понравилось кроме местоположения Грязь, при заселении не было смены постельного белья, пришлось просить комплект белья, даже типа чистое выглядит ужасно, грязносерого цвета, в последний день пребывания вовсе не было воды, ни вечером, ни утром ! Все очень очень старое, в ванной скользкий пол, чуть не упала там когда первый раз решила воспользоваться, короче очень все плохо, не рекомендую никому этот отель.
• Hugo Claes (4/5): Een familiehotel die naam onwaardig. - De rust viel er ons mee, we hadden erger verwacht met een ons niet op voorhand gekend tramspoor voor de deur. Het bed was onverwacht zeer goed. De prijs/kwaliteit voor deze kamer was NOK want de kamer was zeer basic. Zeer weinig opbergruimte en geen kleerkast die naam waardig. Het sanitair en douche was proper maar een bricolage en beiden lekten. De airco had enkel een aan/uit bediening. De vloer leek op een ruïne waar een tapijt over gelegd was. Ontbijt was standaard niet voorzien noch mogelijk.

• Shushila Janette (6/5): I would not stay here again, especially after moving to new accommodation that was fantastic and half the price. - I liked it was in a relatively good spot and quiet. The night male staff was good and tried to help me book bus ticket when I got upset. No one spoke English so a little difficult. My room had a musty smell, and to be honest not very clean. Sheets were clean and bed ok.

• Faruk (10/5): A wonderful experience with a great location in Kadıköy - The concept of the hotel is nice, there is the old heavy hotel management, they make you feel very good, they know what they are doing. We came with a group of friends and we were all very happy. There is a parking lot, paid, very useful, your car can stay safe, there are empty places around, free, we prefer paid. Their welcome and help were very nice. The sympathetic and handsome young people helped us a lot and it was nice that it was a family business. They provided breakfast, I was impressed, thank you. We will come again
• Valioo (4/5): An old and not very clean property with a great location which does not worth the price. - The Moda district is very cosy and lively. There are lots of places with various and good food close around as well as lots of shops and cafes. Also there is a tram stop very close to the hotel. It is very close to the sea park as well. There is a privite paid parkkng just beside the hotel, which is very usefull if you are with a car as we were. The place is a bit old. The furniture is very basic, rattletrap and most of it needs to be renewed. There were problems with the sink in the bathroom, the bath tube was not very clean, and the toiled did not stop flushing. The sink in the kitchen was leaking. The cleaniness was not at a good level at all. The staff although was seemingly friendly and helpfull at first impression did not helped with any issue after all. None of the staff speaks English or at least did not want to. There were a problem with paying with credit card. They cancled my payment via Booking and pretended to have no working POS terminal onsite , but after I made them understand I'm not able to pay in cash, magicaly :) a fully working POS terminal poped up.

• Faruk (10/5): In one word, I'm glad I came here. :) - Everything was great, we were greeted with a wonderful Turkish breakfast and a magnificent sea view. Actually, we did not expect such a good facility because of some bad reviews, but I want to thank the Moda Suit family. All my prejudices are gone. The place is right in the heart of Moda, in Kadıköy. A hotel by the sea. I went with my friend, I liked it very much. I come to Istanbul often, we will see each other often from now on, the people at the Moda Suit reception are very sweet. :) It's such a beautiful place that I can't bring myself to say anything bad about it.

• Jiri (7/5): Good - The hotel was pleasant, with friendly staff. The location was quiet, yet close to the heart of Kadıköy. The room was spacious, although the bathroom was a bit narrow. Breakfasts were traditional Turkish, served on a covered terrace heated by a wood-burning stove. Even at the end of January, it was a pleasant place to sit. The hotel should replace the duvet on the bed, which was significantly smaller than the bed linen. It would also be beneficial to declutter the reception area as the excess items create a distracting atmosphere. Additionally, if they could improve the breakfast service (guests should not have to wait tens of minutes for their food), it would be an excellent place to stay.
• Andrei (1/5): We were all relieved to leave this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. - The hotel is located in a quiet area. I want to warn everyone considering this hotel. We read other reviews and thought this would be a good option, but we were wrong, and here’s why: Lack of service: The hotel management showed no interest in cleanliness or providing basic service. Over the 7 days of our stay, no one cleaned our room, despite our repeated requests. Staff doesn’t speak English: While we understand this is another country with its own language, Istanbul is an international city that attracts visitors from around the world. A basic level of English is essential for providing guest services and resolving issues. Rooms are in poor condition: The renovation seems to be purely cosmetic and hides the poor state of the hotel. The door handle to our room fell off, and we had to struggle to open and close the door. The hotel manager couldn’t resolve the issue. Additionally, the toilet seat in our bathroom was broken. Noise disturbance: Midway through our stay, a loud group of people checked into the hotel. They played music, drank alcohol, smashed bottles, and talked and laughed loudly late into the night. There was no one at reception at night to address this issue. We felt unsafe and couldn’t sleep. The next morning, we reported it to the reception through a translator, but the manager only said “OK.” The noisy group continued their behavior. Power outage: One evening, the hotel experienced a power and internet outage. It was only fixed the next day. Safety concerns: At the hotel entrance and exit, there’s an exposed electrical box with sharp edges. My husband didn’t notice it and hit his head on one of the sharp corners, injuring himself. The hotel failed to provide safe conditions for guests. Exposed electrical sockets: Many electrical sockets were pulled out from the walls, which is extremely dangerous. This could pose a serious risk to guests, especially families with children.

When they did the cleaning they didnt take out the rubbish from the pin..

• William (6/5): Pleasant - Very very nice staff, good breakfast, late check in So many little weird things made this a kinda uncomfortable stay. I was put in the basement room which did not match the room I booked. After reading some reviews on here it sounds like this was the best room so I stuck with it. The room was so incredibly hot at night and the air conditioning made a horrible loud clicking noise that kept me up even through my earplugs. My last night I asked them if they could do something about the heat and then it wasn’t so bad, but it was still so stuffy and the air was so stale. The basement room was also right next to the common area and had thin walls so it did not feel very private. The brick ceiling was cool but kinda falling apart so bathroom always had dust all over the floor (I was so confused how the floor got so dirty even when I always took my shoes off lol). Had to ask for toilet paper because there was none in the room. Outlet by the bed did not work.

• Daniil (10/5): Good value for the price. Incredible location. - Perfect location in the heart of the Istanbul Moda district. The best area of the city, in my very personal unjustified opinion. Nice little hotel in the old historical building. The stuff was very friendly. Overall - was a great experience. And breakfasts are delicious. Some little things require maintenance. Having cutlery and plates in the kitchen would also be nice.

Nice place run by young guys who love their job and guests. Very local building with scharm, breakfasts are in the open small yard. Much to do with the building

• Sofia (7/5): Okay - I have booked a room for my father's stay in Istanbul. The guest liked the tiles, fireplace and lights. He said they were nice and authentic. The location was good, close to the promenade and a supermarket, and not far from the Kadiköy station The guest said it was too dark in the bathroom to shave properly. Also the doors were a bit flimsy and the room looked worn out. The hotel didn't have any nameplates or signs on its front door, which was not convenient.

• Elizaveta (5/5): Ok for a short stay, but with some issues - The location is great, the room is nice but with some issues. Can be ok for a short stay if you have not much expectations. Really hard to find the building - it's tagged on different place on maps; the hotel sign is tiny and not obvious to find. The room door lock was broken - we needed 10 minutes to unlock the door every time (the plus here is that it is really safe - nobody will open your door😅) Room is nice but a little tired, bathroom is very tired - the flush button was broken but we fixed it; the shower leaks on the floor. Outdoor is a little noisy from the neighbours and the BIRDS but this is not a hotel problem, it's an Istanbul common thing.

• Laura (9/5): We had a very nice time and can totally reccomend Es Moda! - A beautiful terrace with ocean view and very nice host. The breakfast was very tasty. The sheets and towels were a bit dirty.
• Alec (8/5): Great apartment in central location run by friendly and helpful host - Comfortable apartment in quiet street but very close to centre. Very nice host who was friendly and helpful. Great breakfast in lovely courtyard. Shower leaked over bathroom floor and did not fit on shower holder.
• Prasunjit (9/5): Excellent stay in room with personal terrace (Bosphorus view) - Overall excellent experience. Staff were really nice. Neat and clean totally. Specially our room with terrace was bang on. Will miss the little most member of the Hotel (Lucky the Pomeranian). Breakfast was not included in package but they were really kind to provide the excellent Turkish homemade breakfast complimentary.
• Kateryna (3/5): Not recommended - Only one plus of this hotel - place on Moda district, not far from the sea. We booked the room here, but we got another room because that one wasn't ready (as the administrator said). The water from the shower was flowing right on the floor, and the sheets on the bed were burned from cigarettes in one place. The bed is broken and it's impossible to sleep. And consider the tram on the street right near the windows - the place is very noisy and walls shake every time the tram goes near. Strongly not recommend it.

• Filiz (9/5): Superb - Everyone who works in the place is so kind and helpful. It is in a fantastic location, and the room is stylish and has got a character. I think the bathroom needs refurbishin, especially the shower and shower head. Apart from that everything was in working order.

• Tansu (5/5): Overpriced for old rooms like that. - The location was great, very close to the sea and the main public transport station. The family who keeps this hotel was very friendly and welcoming! This hotel urgently needs a renovation, if not major then at least many many small fixes here and there. Our door knob was almost detached so the only way to open the door was with the key even if it wasn’t locked. The remote of the AC didn’t work, so it was not possible to control the temperature, we could only turn it on or off, so that wasn’t really comfortable, especially at night. The balcony door was also broken and wouldn’t close fully. The room in general would benefit from deep cleaning and not just a regular every day cleaning.
• Amanda (5/5): Shabby and run down... But good location - The location is epic. We couldn't have asked for a better area to stay in! It is IMPOSSIBLE to find unless a person from the nearby cafe takes pity on you. The apartments are in Google maps as MODA SUIT, not ES MODA. The correct address is next to the vegan Cafe. To the owners / managers of MODA SUIT - PLEASE ADD SIGNAGE TO THE APARTMENT BLOCK SO YOUR CUSTOMERS CAN FIND YOU WITHOUT BEING INCREDIBLY STRESSED OUT. Alternatively, please provide clear instructions beforehand so your paying customers can find you. For everyone else, please be aware that the whole place is very run down, and the staff are practically absent. The room doesn't get cleaned each day. The fridge stinks. The kick boards are coming off the walls. Multiple handles on the cupboards are broken. The lights at the top of the stairwell are broken. Everything is old, which is fine, but please fix the clearly broken things.
• Alpan (5/5): You get what you pay for. - Location, for us, was perfect. It's a short walk to Kadikoy downtown and marketplace. Tram station is 50m away, and provide easy access to metro and ferry to get to other districts. Breakfast is pretty good, offering a good glimpse of traditional Turkish Breakfast. 2nd and 3rd day of our stay there was no hot water for shower. And we couldn't find anybody in the front desk to let them know. Our room had a terrace with a great view but the sliding door was broken; so we couldn't use it. We had to prop a chair to keep the door shut because it was off of its rails. There's no room service or housekeeping during the stay. Make sure you hang up the towels to dry after the cold shower. As we were leaving the building or entering, we didn't see anyone in the front desk. And the building door is always open. It didn't seem so secure, but we didn't feel unsafe. All in all, we got what we paid for. We were looking for a cheap place to sleep with a working A/C and we had just that; nothing more.

• Jianyang (8/5): Decent apartment in a very cozy street with very good location - We had 2 nights very good sleep here on the very quiet cozy area in Moda. So nothing to be compliant about. The owner is very very friendly!Walking less than 1km from Kadikoy metro/ferry terminal. A very comfortable park on the Bosporus coast. WiFi is not good as well as mobile signal so it brings a little bit inconvenience. Suggest to implement more WiFi routers inside the property.

He offered me Turkish coffee when I checked in was really tasty!! Not at all for me!

• Louise (9/5): good location, clean, staff helpful and friendly. - pros: location was just 5 minute walk from a busy area with lots of shops, bars and restaurants, and the boats to go to the European side of Istanbul, loved the outside seating area, the room was clean and had everything we needed, if we needed anymore towels, loo rolls etc we were told to help ourselves. there were lots of seagulls on the roof and we often had a a little visitor when we were sitting at the rooftop area which my kids loved. we thought the whole apartment would be air conditioned but it was only the main room but looking at the description it does say one room air con so that's our mistake, we just brought the matress from the other room into the main bedroom tho so problem solved, they offered us a free breakfast on the first day to try and then it was available to book and pay if we wanted it on the other days but we weren't keen on the breakfast so ate nearby.

They were all super friendly and made sure we are comfortable and enjoying at all times. The hotel’s location is super convenient, as it’s close to the sea, bars, restaurants, and other parks and stores. We will definitely be staying at Es Moda again, as we really felt at home there!

• Kiri (8/5): Comfortable, affordable and perfect location. Would stay again. - The location of this property is perfect. Less than 5 minutes to restaurants/ bars/ shops and the sea is right at the end of the road. You can see the sunset every evening just standing on the street. The property is definitely value for money. It was clean and comfortable. There is no lift so if you are going to find stairs difficult perhaps book a ground floor apartment. I was on the second floor, but the staff helped with my luggage so I didnt have to try to do this on my own. I was travelling alone, and really appreciated how nice the reception staff were to me and how comfortable they made me feel (despite a slight language barrier). They greeted me nicely when I came and went, and were happy to answer any questions I had. There is somebody at the front desk 24 hours, which made me feel safer. On my last day I accidentally locked myself out of my room minutes before I had to leave for the airport, I rushed down to ask for help and 3 members of staff came up to help me. The property itself could do with some TLC, carpets are quite old and plumbing clearly could do with a refresh. That said the hotel is clean and comfortable so it didn't really bother me. The address on the hotel website is incorrect, so I turned up at a building on the other side of the road, which was a bit tricky to figure out as the receptionist answering the phone couldn't speak english very well.
• Jeff (5/5): Friendly people and a good location but they need a major overhaul and clean up - Extremely friendly staff. Great location in a hip neighborhood, yet relatively quiet street. Listing said "sofa bed" but really meant "sofa" - hard, short, and without bedding until we asked for it. Several rooms (especially the one right off lobby) are too loud to sleep in. The cave room off breakfast patio was quiet and best, except for having someone sleeping under the stairs outside our door. Other rooms stuffy and smelled of cigarette smoke. Mold and peeling paint and dirt throughout. (One example in photos.) Breakfast was great - but not offered any earlier than 9:30AM so it was useless for us, since we wanted to see sights on hot days.
