My issue had to do with the massive amount of seaweed that accumulated in front of my beach front accommodations. The smell was unbearable. I couldn’t open any doors or windows and could barely sleep the first night. I had to travel to the other side of the island to enjoy the beach.

- David (9/5): 5-Star Resort with Beautiful Facilities and Amazing Service! - The Blue Zen is amazing. The facilities were incredible. The penthouse room reached far above our expectations. Everyone that we met were super nice. The resort was kind of desolate b/c we there during non-peak tourist season. The pools were great to swim in. Unfortunately we had to pivot when we wanted to swim in the ocean. The sargassum algae was a major problem here, as well as any other resort along the west coast. They didn't have enough labor or machinery to keep up, which is sad and killing the fish. The smell was horrible. Nothing the Blue Zen could do about it but it was a major deterrent from us returning to Caye Caulker if we decided to come back. If so we would stay on the East side of the island.
- Harding (10/5): I will always recommend Blu Zen. Everything far surpassed every expectation. - Beautiful location! Everything was always clean, no trash in sight. The staff were top notch. My family felt like royalty because everyone was so friendly and remembered your name. They really looked after us and made us all feel special. The restaurant (Lotus) is small but still amazing food and I really can’t say enough great things about the staff. I’m sure they’ll expand as the location and the area of Caye Caulker develops.

- Helen (8/5): There is lots of seaweed in the ocean, making it undesirable to go in - Beautiful resort They were very stingy with their coffee pods, you were supposed to get 4 a day. But you always had to ask for them. I would recommend bringing your own pods. They sell them in the store for $5 a piece, which is very pricey

- Dharshini (10/5): The staff are very friendly, helpful and polite. I wholeheartedly recommend! - Gorgeous Spot! On the North side of the island. Very quiet. The property is owned by people who don’t live there full-time, so the space is much quieter than other resorts. Nobody fights over pool loungers, which are mostly empty. The hotel has a private boat that runs to and from the village every hour or so. The hours are posted and operate with military precision so it is easy to plan your day. You can also use free bikes or hire a golf cart for USD 35 for two hours. You can cross the split with both the carts and bicycles. If you are heading to “Bliss Beach” near the Blue Zen note that as of writing this, it opens at 11am. The only downside is the overwhelming smell of seagrass. It can also get a bit windy. There is no good snorkeling right off the beach. The water is opaque.

Grounds are in good condition. Pool was very clean and well maintained. We had typical tropical rains and the unit leaked in 3 locations. One leaked caused one of the air conditioners to fail. Bar chairs in kitchen need replacing. Bicycles need maintenance. Need more chairs at the pool. The penthouse rooftop deck has no furniture or shade structure so it is not worth the extra cost.

- Nicole (8/5): Very good - The rooms were beautiful, and the staff was friendly and helpful. They have multiple pools that can be used. I didn't like that there was little to no option for the countries native food. There should be more native food than non native. Also, I didn't care much for the stairs to get to the room. I would definitely stay again but would request a second floor or first floor.
- Vernita (10/5): Blue Zen in Belize A Wonderful Place To Be - Everything was comfortable, beautiful and well taken care of. As previously stated everything went welI when there were little hiccups it was easily taken care of. My concern is that after I got out of the small Sauna pool in the last third area I obtained a Fungus within the groin area that I'm getting treatment for. The 1st and 2nd pools were treated regularly but we didn't see a lot of usage nor treatment for the 3rd one.

It was a bit far from the main area where all the food and liveliness was but they had complimentary boat to transport you.

You have to ride a boat to go anywhere. The boat is not every hour, if you miss a 11:30am departure you are stuck in the island until 2:30pm. I constantly felt like I had to check the clock :/

Staff was top notch, hats off to VJ and Mex. I would highly recommend this property . WIFI NEED A LOT OF WORK!! Marginal at best.

We've stayed at many different property's in Belize from economy , mid-range and thought the Blu Zen would be a luxury property , this was our first time encountering cockroaches !

- Keith (10/5): The best vacation spot if you want to relax, Calm slow ambianced place, this is the place tough to get to but for the mo - The People who work there are really Customer Service Experts, They know how to make your stay everything you expect and more When lots of people come and restaurant service diminishes Restaurant monopoly , They need a few more restaurants there different types, maybe a Sandwich and Sub shop would be awesome , 80% American tourists but that’s a Great thing not bad at all Bring lots of money for the restaurant

- Sherry (10/5): If you are looking for something, unique and quiet, but not too secluded, this is the place to go!!! - Wonderful accommodating staff, the very best woodfired pizza I have ever had. All expectations were exceeded and we will definitely travel again. Kudos to the front staff and the massage therapist . You can definitely tell that the massage therapist has mastered her expertise with muscle anatomy. I am a physician and she knew her triggerpoints extremely well. I need to hire her for my practice, and we could cut down on the pharmaceuticals…

The people were so nice!! Housekeeping several times forgot to restock items. The spa hadn’t provided pedicure supplies so worker provided on her own. Would have been nice to have a complimentary golf cart ride to anywhere on the north side.

- Kristy (10/5): There is not another place I would recommend staying. - I loved the atmosphere as soon as we pulled up on the water taxis. The white buildings and lush green palm trees were a welcoming site. The amenities were very modern. The condos were spacious with up to date dishwasher, refrigerator, tv and furniture. I appreciated the time spent on designing condos that fit an active lifestyle. The overall resort feels spacious enough without feeling too spread out. Never was outside noise a concern. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and promptly answered any questions we had. They also helped in scheduling our water taxis, massages and any reservations requested. Jairo was exceptionally helpful when planning our trip and again answered all my questions promptly through the WhatsApp. I would highly recommend this resort for a unforgettable getaway and look forward to returning soon. They have even more great things planned for the resort that I don't want to miss. Water taxis back and forth to the south island of Caye Caulker.

All our questions got answered quickly and the welcome team was great. I liked everything about the property but I would suggest welcome beverages. It would have been a nice touch; given the journey to Blu Zen.
