Guest Reviews
- Fiona (8/5): Great location- lovely hotel - Great location, comfortable rooms.
Lovely pool
Helpful staff Issue with the room which meant we had to move but staff were very accommodating
- Zac (10/5): -
- Vijay (3/5): Not worth anything - Hard to say For starters, it is true to its name of being boutique, everything small. You need to take two lifts everytime you want to access. The facilities were so little to other properties in HCM
- Jake (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was really good. with a range of dishes. Pool was a good size, with great views from the roof. Staff were very friendly and helpful
- Butler (8/5): Enjoyed our time here. Great location, extensive choice for breakfast - The location was great. The pool was nice with a good outlook. Nice afternoon tea available. Slow lifts
- Diane (9/5): Very comfortable stay with beautiful staff and decoration . - We stayed two nights in this hotel , what made the stay brilliant was the staff. They were amazing and very helpful. The room was a also good size with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was adequate, we would have liked more western choices but overall met our needs. Both the pool area and afternoon teas were great. location was very good too close to many restaurants and a ten-minute walk from the opera house. Overall, a great stay We had problems with air con it was on a timer, so were uncomfortable with the heat at times. we had to keep switching it back on, not a major flaw but difficult during the night.
- Lisa (9/5): Nice hotel, friendly staff & good location - Lovely welcome, the hotel is very bright and airy in the lobby and beautiful decor. Staff are very friendly, courteous, and helpful.
The room was spacious and clean & had everything you needed.
Lots of choice for breakfast & they made a breakfast box for an early trip. Free afternoon tea was a bonus, served every day.
The pool area was nice, but there were only 4 beds, so we did not get a chance to sit around as always full.
Overall, a lovely place to stay.
- Randjb (8/5): Very good - The room was spacious and the staff were attentiveThe be The bed was hard, however they brought comforters to put underneath to help
- Anna (1/5): Bad -
- Janine (10/5): A very special and stylish boutique hotel - A very stylish boutique hotel. We’ve stayed at the Au Lac Charner a few times before and we decided to give the new Boutique a try for our last visit. We loved it and it was truly special. Nothing at all
- Steve (10/5): Classy hotel with amazingly friendly staff - Beautiful and very classy Nothing
- Neil (8/5): Excellent staff, excellent hotel, please get a coffee machine. - We were greeted by Robert who was so polite and professional - every hotel needs a Robert. As soon as we arrived his professionalism and approach set the standard and it did not slip. Rooms with balcony’s over looking the street are the besf The coffee. All the hotel lacks is decent coffee and plane congee. We had our breakfast and went next door for coffee
- Bobby (6/5): Pleasant -
- Angela (10/5): Very welcoming hotel - The staff so helpful and welcoming Could have been a little more Western food at breakfast.
- Kevin (8/5): Very good - Very polite and helpful staff, lovely comfortable rooms, great breakfast and a great location. Perfect..!! Nothing
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful hotel, great amenities, superb location.
Great staff, pool, sauna, steam room and as one other reviewer pointed out, they provide a sumptuous afternoon tea every afternoon.
- Linda (10/5): Central hotel. Great stay. - Very friendly and helpful staff. We had room 212 which was spacious with a bath and shower. Balcony overlooking street. Great breakfast. Comfotable bed. Air con. Nice rooftop pool and free afternoon tea Some minimal street noise
- Ganaru (8/5): Very good - Location, central Room could have better sound proofing.
- Rafael (8/5): Very good -
- Samir (8/5): Very good -
- Oliver (6/5): Pleasant -
- Laura (9/5): Elegant vibe - The atmosphere at this hotel is chic and elegant. Unfortunately the rooms are poorly insulated. Everything else is very pleasing.
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Reetha (9/5): Great experience staying here - Beautiful and clean
Breakfast was ample and lots of items
Afternoon tea which was included was an extra bonus Nothing
- Laurene (6/5): Good Location but can get better standing for same price - The location of the hotel one of the best since you are in the center of the center of Saigon but it comes along with noise of the street or construction nearby The room are quite small, the rooms are not soundproof
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (4/5): The hotel require better maintenance. - It is in a good location at district 1 with easy access to many sight attractions. The premise is run down and poorly maintained. My room consistently having power issues and experienced blackout twice during my 3 nights stay at the property. Also the door lock has issues and I locked myself in the bathroom.
- Andrea (10/5): Very comfortable place to stay in Saigon - Everything was great. Perfect location, very comfortable room and helpful staff. The room was spacious and very clean. Appreciated coffee machine in the room. Breakfast was good enough. Nothing to write
- Elizabeth (9/5): Location, Spacious Room, Staff, Super Clean, Breakfast - District 1 location perfect - many attractions and shopping are within walking distance. From high end restaurants, bars, spas, salons & cafes, to hyper local street food vendors, & standard quick service breakfast/lunch spots, right on the block, including a 24hr sit down cafe, 7-11 convenience store, & one of the oldest auntie-run bakery/cafeterias in HCMC on the corner. Cafe apartments, Bitexco tower, Saigon Centre & Opera, all within 5-10mins walk.
Staff is all smiles and work tirelessly to make your experience perfect. Rooftop pool is beautiful with great views, (lounge chairs are scarce though), sauna, steam, gym, massage salon on site, penthouse afternoon tea is a nice touch, copious buffet breakfast with Vietnamese specialties & international classics, plus noodle soups & custom egg station, exceeded expectations.
Boutique wing junior suite was spacious & spotless, with welcome fruit, bottled water, nespresso, robes & house slippers, cute veranda & super comfy bed with fine cotton sheets. Just a heads up for folks with mobility issues, the hotel may be difficult to navigate due to various stairs (especially at lobby entry, roof deck & boutique wing) but stairs are ubiquitous in many HCMC buildings.
Lobby decor is a tad dated, but it is still super clean & well-maintained.
- Alastair (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (6/5): Very disappointing - Breakfast wad good apart from the coffee which was awful Wet towels not changed. Dry towels not hung up.
Pool not available and were refused a partial refund. Got offered one non alcoholic cocktail each!! One! Not one per day even. Got t changed to an alcoholic one but not good enough. I booked this hotel because I wanted a pool. They should have emailed giving the chance to cancel. The pool was not available from 17th. We arrived on the 18th

- Andrea (10/5): Au Lac Boutique Hotel offers an outstanding experience enriched by exceptional service, elegant surroundings, and a perf - I had the pleasure of staying at the Au Lac Boutique Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, and it was a truly exceptional experience. From the moment of arrival, the staff's warm hospitality and genuine attentiveness made me feel incredibly welcome. The hotel boasts an elegant and stylish design, with chic decor that perfectly marries modern comfort and traditional Vietnamese elements.
The room we stayed in was impeccably clean and beautifully appointed, offering a cozy refuge with luxurious linens. The thoughtful amenities, from the delicious welcome snacks to the well-stocked minibar, added an extra layer of comfort and convenience to our stay.
The location of the hotel is unbeatable, situated in the heart of the city within walking distance of major attractions and dining options. This made exploring and indulging in the vibrant culture of Ho Chi Minh City remarkably easy and enjoyable. A stunning city view would have topped it off!
- Alison (10/5): Our first glimpse of real Vietnam 🇻🇳 - The staff were so helpful and friendly, nice boutique hotel, good location to all the sights in the old quarter. Breakfast plentiful, had a really comfortable stay ❤️ Nothing
- Mirna (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (9/5): Comfortable clean room very helpful staff enjoyable breakfast - The property was very clean and all the staff were exceptionally helpful There’s nothing I didn’t like about the property
- Wioletta (10/5): Exceptional - Great service, very nice staff and amazing rooftop Nothing
- Red (10/5): Comfy hotel in central location - Breakfast & lunch good. Roof top pool great, spa fantastic. Bed huge & comfy, bathroom clean & big enough. Room big enough for our 2x night stay. This was our 4th trip to Saigon so we pretty much know our way around. Staff were great especially Robert was most helpful & assisted us with a few queries about getting to particular places we wanted to visit. Only that there was no black tea available at breakfast for western travellers.
- Charlie (9/5): Superb - Breakfast had every option, changing most days which we loved. The location was in close proximity to everything we wanted to see. The facilities suited us perfecly.
- Martin (9/5): Brilliant boutique with top class service - The Booking.com website had a misleading room description, and we ended up with no bathtub. No problem at all for the amazing staff at Au Lac. It was all sorted for us the following day. Nothing - we would return again without hesitation.
- Pierre-adrien (9/5): Superb -
- Torres (7/5): Nice Hotel but not what I expected. - I liked the hotel itself, it was clean and had great amenities. Additionally, the staff was great. I came to this hotel because nicer hotels usually acknowledge your birthday but this one did not. Additionally there were so many over the top rules relates to visitors, what you can and can't do, etc. Also at afternoon tea, it felt like a staff member was specifically following me around and watching what I was doing which was uncomfortable.
- Manuela's (9/5): First time Vietnam, great to have a pool to cool in. - Very welcoming staff and pleasant atmosphere.
Spacious and clean room and bathroom.
Sauna and Pool open till late. Afternoon high tea. Superb breakfast choice and food quality. Minor one...afternoon tea could be a little bit later and would allow to fit visits to the city better.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (9/5): Superb -
- Mcgregor (9/5): Superb - The bed , bedding were scrumtious , staff are warm and professional My laundry bill
- Yvette (8/5): A centrally located hotel, with decent amenities and excellent staff. - The staff was very polite and hospitable.Excellent breakfast. The rooms seem smaller than expected.
- Anthony (6/5): Could have been a more pleasant stay. - Location was good. Breakfast spread was pretty decent except lacking a good orange juice and coffee. Room was not clean upon check-in. There was a hair band on the floor and many hairs (?) on the tiled flooring. Bathroom shower’s knob was faulty. Has a difficult time adjusting to rain shower.
- Hatem (10/5): Exceptional - location is ideal for the city center, the staffs absolutely perfect nothing
- Michael (10/5): Centrally located with good rooms and great staff - Amazing location, great staff, good breakfast.
- Haugen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (10/5): HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR EVERYBODY TO STAY - lovely staffs and very good location, very close to many tourist spot, easy to walk around. none
