Guest Reviews
- Vasco (8/5): - Super vriendelijk personeel (Annie) en gewoon heerlijk relaxed en het uitzicht was erg mooi
- susan (10/5): Charming Comfort with a great VIEW! - A charming place, sweet little private cottages each with a view of English Harbor. Breakfast was wonderful too with a grand view. There was an honestly bar - help yourself - write down what you drank. And the staff was lovely. I would certainly return here but, spend more time! everything was perfect
- Sue (7/5): - Stay here for the wonderful location. Rooms have a beautiful view of the harbour and its boats. Walk down the hill for a large choice of restaurants. Friendly staff and nice clean pool are bonuses. Lots of stairs … ok for us but be aware. This is not a polished 5 star hotel by any means but it is perfect for a laid back stay and we would definitely stay here again.
- Rhys (10/5): Lovely spot, nice classic carribean hotel, all of the staff are welcoming and accommodating. Thank you -
- Jacqui (8/5): Very relaxing with a view you’ll never tire of. - Incredible view over English Harbour. Very friendly staff and guests. There was plenty of shady seating and a clean pool with an honesty bar. Breakfast included lots of fresh fruit and a decent mug of tea. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance (but note the hotel is up a hill: wasn’t a problem for us and we’re in our 70s) The people who run it are very jolly and chat with the guests. Some guests are long stay/regulars and welcomed us over breakfast and invited us to dinner with them if we liked.
- Thomas (8/5): Wonderful short stay -
- Stephanie (10/5): - The atmosphere, view, Annie and the team were so welcoming and friendly. We felt right at home immediately. Nothing!
- Judith (8/5): - amazing views, lovely staff, great breakfast and so comfortable

- Andrew (9/5): Great place to stay in English Harbour - Great hotel in English Harbour. Stunning views and friendly staff.
- Zhanna (6/5): -
- Ben (9/5): Wonderfully peaceful hotel on a hill overlooking the bay, fantastic views and super friendly staff. - A true rustic hideway. Loved the honesty bar. Simple but delicious breakfast. Pool was a bonus. Great location, near the restaurants and bars but far enough away to eacape the noise from the nightclubs. Dont expect a branded, glitzy hotel. Its simple and rustic with a touch of faded colonial grandeur. nothing
- Thomas (8/5): Lovely! - Location, views, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, and honesty bar All good.
- Judith (10/5): A fabulous stay with unprecedented views of English harbour. We have never experienced such friendly happy staff! Wonder - Very friendly with fabulous views! Uneven paving in one place!
- Carolyn (9/5): Ideal for getting a feel for English Harbour - Location perfect. Pool small but lovely to have.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast good. Need pegs and surfaces in the bathroom

- Fred (7/5): Emplacement de dingue, juste au dessus de la marina! La vue incroyable - Emplacement dingue

- Joanne (10/5): - Great location and beautiful place. My place to unwind when i visit ANU! "The view is breathtaking., "It's a picturesque setting., "The scenery is stunning., "The landscape is beautiful., and "It's a very scenic location.. Everything was great
- Mark (9/5): - Friendly staff great location
- Aytac (9/5): Authentic Caribbean feel, with beautiful views from your balcony and close to Nelsons Dockyard - The Ocean Inn is the embodiment of a Caribbean experience, complete with a beautiful and authentic setting & decor, wonderful views and excellent location - within a short walking distance of Nelsons Dockyard and numerous restaurants even closer. The owner and staff were welcoming and very helpful in every way. I would recommend the Ocean Inn to all travellers who do not mind going up and down a few steps, and like to keep it real. Due to the positioning of the rooms on a hillside, the steps are unavoidable, and does not detract from the experience unless guests have accessibility needs.
Robert was very accommodating even though our arrival was delayed by 24hrs due to flight cancellations.
A couple of other notable details: the toiletries were of high quality and plenty, which is a small but important detail. The towels were not only freshly changed every day, but also smelled freshly cleaned; another small detail that matters. The A/C worked very well, which cannot be taken granted in every hotel in the Caribbean.
- Emil (10/5): Outstanding! - Simply an outstanding place with a great view of the bay and the historical dockyard.. It's calm and peaceful, perfect for relaxing.. You never feel crowded or disturbed.. The staff is very warm and friendly.. Arguably one of the best places to stay on the entire island.. Nothing at all, couldn't ask for more..
- scully (10/5): - Perfect location beautiful view nice pool and a bar.
- Emma (9/5): - A friendly warm welcome, simple, clean and comfortable rooms with a great view. Honesty bar and pool area is great to take in the view. Highly recommend!
- Wendy (10/5): Wonderful stay with family, very friendly, accommodating owners - The view, small and friendly, quiet area, but not too far to walk to beaches, restaurants etc
- Peter (10/5): Fabulous - The view was astoundingly beautiful. The room perfect with a balcony overlooking English Harbour. Best of all was the kindness of the host
Nothing was too much trouble and everything served with a bright smile. I've visited 100 countries in 50 years and this was the best accommodation choice yet. Nothing at all
- Judith (9/5): Really friendly proprietor and outstanding view - Outstanding views and lots of privacy from our room No hot water in the shower
- Stephen (7/5): Amazing location and host. - Cosy cottage with an amazing view and wonderful host. A little shabby around the edges. Newly painted but showing it’s age!
- Sarah (8/5): - Breakfast was provided which was a great addition.
Owner was always there if needed.
I booked very last minute and couldn’t fault the hotel. Excellent stay.
- Sarah (10/5): Love this place, our Antiguan home from home. - Visited May 25 & again May 26, so towards end of season.
Third visit to this little piece of paradise. The location and views are excellent. 10 minute walk to all bars and resturants, 15 minutes walk to beach.
The location means the Inn is quiet during day and night. There are a few areas in need of some TLC, but the views make up for all the slight imperfections. Sitting on the deck watching the bay, the view is never the same, as boats etc come and go, the sea changes, we also saw dolphins, a turtle, frigate birds and pelicans to name a few ( if you can bring a pair on binoculars).
Robert the owner is most obliging, and helped with all our requests. Annie who helps Robert run the Inn is such a bubbly and engaging lady, we shared many laughs with her during our stay and she was most helpful.
This is one of the few places to stay in around English harbour that has a pool, and it is one of the highlights of our trip. It is not the biggest of pools but it is always clean and has a lovely view over the bay, and was a welcome relief from the sun. The surrounding gardens are lovely, lots of beautiful flowers, butterflies and birds to look at. The self serve honesty bar is also a lovely facility, well stocked and replenished, perfect for a rum and coke.
The breakfast was always plentiful and is self serve, we were never hungry after breakfast. The rooms are spacious, with good aircon and plenty of hot water.
The Inn is not high end, think shabby chic meets the Caribbean, but has an authentic Antiguan charm. On our day trips around the Island we came across many of the high end resorts, but all commented that The Inn was where we would rather be. Deck around pool could benefit from some shade as it is in full sun all day, and the cottages are in need of a paint, and if it rains the roof above breakfast terrace leaks, but these are just small niggles.
- Connaire (10/5): Beautiful rooms on the hills above English Harbour. - Small, boutique stay with an amazing view just a short walk to everywhere in English Harbour. Robert & Annie were amazing hosts and lovely people. Would recommend anyone to stay here if you are visiting Antigua.
- Isabel (8/5): Fantastic location and extremely welcoming staff. - The location and the staff were superb, and the outside areas. I would suggest that the rooms could have a freshen up. The room could have been a bit smarter.
- Philip (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (7/5): Good - View is amazing Lovely people although the two chalets we had did need renovation but when they are done will be hard to beat.
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Ben_oreilly (9/5): I arriving at 2am, but was able to check-in. Rooms - basic but clean with air con. staff v friendly -
- Guy (9/5): Superb -
- Jay (10/5): Exceptional -

- Innis (8/5): Chill relaxed stay, nice people, good location. - Very chill, home away from home feel. Nice people. Good location. Robert the manager was brilliant. Always on hand to help with anything and I felt very safe. Sets the right tone for island life.
- Jonas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Really helpful and friendly staff . We liked the honesty bar , very grown up idea and handy 24 hours - Adequate

- Houlihan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philo (6/5): Pleasant -
- Hourani (5/5): Passable -
- Glynn (8/5): Very good -
- Idk (9/5): Superb - Breakfast was good. The room was great had an amazing view.
Overall it was a good experience.
- Catherine (7/5): Good -
- Tim (10/5): a memory for life - hopefully to be repeated - Robert the owner is simply a good person. The view is astounding, better than the hotel friends stayed at costing 10x the price. The well stocked bar is a honesty bar which says it all about the owner. If super luxury towels, staff that are treated like servants is what you seek, go somewhere else. Facilities are functional, bed comfy, air con in room etc. If kind people matter to you, where you can talk with staff as friends, or do your own thing in privacy just sharing a "good-morning", this is the place to stay.
Multiple lunch / supper food choices at a full range of prices a short walk down the hill. If walking the hill too much, (to get the view in the photos you have to be a couple hundred feet up) one of Roberts friends will drive you for a nominal fee. Included self serve breakfast is cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, cold meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs which was good.
- Pauline (10/5): Booked last minute Antigua is very expensive this hotel is good value - The View! It’s outstanding The shower was a bit hit and miss
- Mervyn (9/5): A real gem, worth discovering - Amazing position, Great ambiance. Informal and hospitable. Small, private balcony. Very large comfortable bed. Unpredictable shower!
- Zac (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (9/5): Superb -
- Alex (9/5): Great 100 % would use again if required. Thanks. - Fantastic location looking over English Harbour
Short walk up the hill. ( 8mins ) Could not really fault. The Caribbean in general is not a cheap place !!!!
- Caroline (9/5): Superb - The location is brilliant and has a nice view over British harbour. The owner family is super friendly and very welcoming.
- Margaret (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing, great breakfast and host. - Amazing view and Robert is the best host!
