jorge (10/5): Wonderful and peaceful spot in Johannesburg - I really enjoyed my stay at La Casa Blanca. Everything was absolutely perfect, my room was spotless and serviced every day. Bed was fantastic with multiple pillows. I had tea, biscuits, fruit, and daily milk and water in the fridge. Besides my room, I really enjoyed using other rooms in the hotel, like the beautiful library or the terrace with spectacular views. Lots of art everywhere which I particularly enjoyed. Leo was very attentive and welcomed me even checking in late at night. Location is wonderful, quiet, peaceful, and easy to reach via Uber. Would love to be back. Nada

Sijovu (1/5): Rude customer service by owner but lovely views and kind housekeeper - Lovely housekeeper and beautiful views. The owner, Leo was extremely rude and hostile to me the morning of my check out. He accused me (with no proof) of bringing an additional guest into my room and after realising he was wrong, gave a lacklustre apology. When I responded and expressed my unhappiness with this treatment he proceeded to speak to me unprofessionally and with a terrible attitude. I made it very clear that I will not be returning to La Casa Blanca simply because of his vile attitude and because he demonstrated a lack of regard for customers. On the first day of my stay there were issues with WiFi and I very patiently co-operated and waited for the issue to be resolved. In exchange I was falsely accused and spoken to with extreme disrespect by Leo.

Serena (10/5): Casa Blanca: il posto dove stare a Johannesburg: storia, fascino, accoglienza e comodità - La casa Blanca è stato probabilmente il soggiorno ( troppo breve) più interessante ed inaspettato dell’anno! La posizione è perfetta, in un luogo sicuro e con una vista mozzafiato contornato da un giardino incantato. La storia della Villa affascinante, la ristrutturazione a cura dei due giovani proprietari stupenda e l’accoglienza fuori da ogni standard. Ci siamo sentiti subito a casa, accolti con amicizia e impeccabile professionalità, un luogo davvero da consigliare a chiunque passi da Johannesburg. Felice di averlo casualmente trovato su Booking.com. Credo sia stato un segno del destino ☺️

Lee (1/5): Disappointing service - The cat and dogs. There was no electric blanket as advertised. There was no buffet as advertised. No check-in and check-out procedure. No one came to clean the room the next morning as advertised. No blow dryer in the room. No teabags or milk provided in the room. There's only tap water to drink which I had to boil first. Tried calling the owner a few times, there was no answer. A staff member who handed me the key when I arrived said I could knock on her door if I needed anything. When I did, there was no response. The house was empty. Breakfast was included in the price but I had to order something as there was only a few slices of cold meat, fruit, cheese and juice. The owner was not prssent when I was leaving. The housekeeper came to my room and I handed her the key. After I left the owner sends me an invoice for "damages" plus bogus admin charges!!! Worst place I've ever been to. I don't recommend it to anyone at all!!! The lowest rating I could give is one but this place doesn't even deserve that much.

Van (10/5): Once again enjoyed a lovely stay at this haven of tranquility - the perfect choice for some peace within the city. Truly - The view from this room in awesome for some sunrise birdwatching. The library in this place is vast and exceptional. No complaints.

Nigel (7/5): Satisfactory, but not great. - Location was great. Would have liked to have spent more time on the property. Servicing of the room was poor. Dust from drilling under one of the bedside tables remained there for the duration of my stay, towels were not hung up or refreshed, roman blind was loose at the top and looked tatty etc. Happy to provide photos if needed. No access to staff in the times that I was on the property. Not sure what I would have done if I hadn't bumped into the owner on the last night. Suggestion: display contact details if staff are not on site.

Leo and Roelof are the most amazing hosts together with their beautiful furbabies that give you that extraordinary welcome. The history behind this guest lodge is amazing, and you can see the compassion that Leo and Roelof have respected with the decor and the amazing art that is hung around the lodge.
