• Miyuki (9/5): - Very friendly host, clean room. It is a hostel, meant for solo travellers, not ideal for couples on holiday. Room too small and no ventilation, it gets too warm.
• Jimenez (6/5): Needs better maintenance and organization - The pool was big and the location of the place is very comfortable The room smelled dusty, the sheets had stains, the shower head had multiple holes clogged, so the water flow was everywhere but on you. The room looked very tacky and only had 1 functional power plug. These things can be improved by better maintenance and not by buying expensive stuff or large investments. The "lobby" was messy and hard to spot, and the entrance to the room was full of old and cluttered furniture.

• August (10/5): Best lowbudget hostel in Jaco beach - The location is perfect. Beach, entertainment & restaurants nearby. A pool in the hostel to cool off. Bathroom needs hooks and soap

• Susette (8/5): Close to everything in Jacó! - Enjoyed the location and pool. There is a club across the street so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Nice secured parking. Close to the beach for taking in the gorgeous sunsets and the main street.
• Michael (7/5): Visiting Jacó for the Costa Rican beach experience.. - Brilliant location near the beach. Swimming pool. It is a hostel. I had a private room with bathroom. BASIC is the key work. Ripped towels, uncomfortable mattress, rough sheets, no AC…..but what does one expect from a backpackers hostel? The place works as a place to sleep and shower and the price is reasonable. I booked for six nights but had to check out after four nights because of a local friend’s serious illness; there was no mention of a refund in point of fact. (I didn’t ask for one but an offer from the front would have been appreciated under the circumstances.) Overall I was not satisfied with my experience at Hostel de Haan but I believe the place works for many travellers..

• Stefanie (6/5): Pleasant - Super close to the beach, a decently equipped kitchen. Overall good value. pretty uncomfortable beds and not super clean rooms, loud environment.
• Jamie (6/5): if your budget can't stretch to a traditional hostel, this is relatively cheap and a good location - It's relatively cheap, it's a brilliant location, has a pool and it has 24 hour security obviously it's very basic, but it doesn't really feel like a hostel. There no frills whatsoever. Whatever your expectations of you've booked is, lower it another 20%.

• Hugo (1/5): Ok place, horrible member off staff - Property was in a good location close to the beach with nice pool. On of the staff (the head of staff) was so rude. It started with when I arrived, instantly he asked me to leave before I even had time to tell him that I had a booking with them. He was always smig and standoffish and was also there at 11 am in the dot trying to remove me from the room despite the cleaning lady mentioning check out is at 1 pm and the page at 12 midday. They also charged an unreasonable exchange rate over 30 coronas over the market exchange value. I have visited a lot of hostels over the years and traveled a lot and I have to say the staff member with the glasses is perhaps the rudest I have ever met. Apologies but I have to say something, as if I was the owner I would not want someone like that working for me. There was also uncleaned vomit under the sink. In all sincerity -Hugo

Kitchen is well equipped. Very close to the beach. Cute bar across the street and a couple cute restaurants. Nothing all good.
