- John (9/5): - Great Hotel in a remote and quiet location, excellent restaurant with good choice

- Jennifer (8/5): A lovely location and restaurant. - The property looks fantastic and in a wonderful location. The restaurant is beautiful and the cuisine amazingly good. Little details. No lift and it was awkward carrying heavy luggage up spiral staircase. The bathroom looked gorgeous, well equipped but designer taps shot water out of sinks horizontally so onto you or floor unless you were really careful! Bedroom well equipped and very comfortable but walls of room and corridors need a touch up.
- Erik (10/5): geweldig verblijf, voor herhaling vatbaar - fantastische kamer en geweldig diner. ontbijt was goed, gratis parkeren voor de deur. heerlijk relaxed.
- Clive (10/5): Great restaurant, lovely location friendly owners. We will come back on our next trip France - Great rural location Nothing
- Lyndsey (9/5): Would loved to have stayed longer. - Beautiful location. Wonderful friendly staff and a superb value for money dinner.
- jane (8/5): Nice hotel - Beautiful lakeside location and the restaurant is fabulous. Great food at a very reasonable price in a lovely dining room. Loved the memory foam pillows in the room. Breakfast. Not exactly thrilling or cheap.
- TJ (9/5): Prettig hotel, mooie omgeving. - Mooie omgeving, prettige kamer en goed restaurant. Niets

- Margreet (9/5): - Prachtig hotel, mooie omgeving.
- Peter (10/5): - Good breakfast Ntg
- Peter (10/5): Ideal for our midway stop on return journey - Great breakfast. Excellent location Nothing
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Susan (9/5): Superb - Tucked away down a country lane, though still close to the nearest village, we enjoyed a tranquil stay by the lake. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food and wine we had at the restaurant was excellent. Our room was large and comfortable and the local aperitif left for us was a nice touch.
- Penny (9/5): What a terrific reward after travelling all day from England! - The location is beautiful! We had pre-dinner drinks on the terrace overlooking the lake and whilst the weather was warm and sunny we were advised that there might be a storm so best to have dinner in the restaurant. The dinner was great and the wine list extensive. We had a very nice bottle of red. The menu met everyones needs which is pretty good as we were 7 altogether. It was very hot overnight but the rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was really good. The decor was characterful and a spiral staircase (tiled) was very pretty. As with many French bathrooms the shower in the bath is a bit awkward as we get that bit older! One or two of the party did have trouble getting into the bath to shower but we managed it!
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and setting.
The host arranged secure and covered storage for our 3 motorcycles.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good - allo very good
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Luke (8/5): Great stopover. - Lovely setting. Great building. Lovely food and friendly staff. Breakfast area small and staff were limited. We got a table but the people after us had to find someone to clear the table.
- Christopher (5/5): Disappointing room, very dangerous staircase - Very good food Room was very small, cramped and hotel rather run down. Small bed
- Janie (10/5): Comfortable and the food outstanding - Breakfast was adequate. Dinner was amazing
- Sharon (8/5): Lovely - Location
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful hotel Difficult to find
- Abigail (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location very rural, amazing restaurant allowed a dog.
- Fiona (8/5): Lovely riverside location. The hotel appears to be being refurbished. - The vegetarian evening meal food offering was most entertaining to look at! The dinning room was quite grand.
The bedroom was simply decorated and was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was too late for us as we had a channel crossing.
- Denise (7/5): Gorgeous setting and good food. - Beautiful location and friendly staff. The hotel had a lot of character and charm.
The restaurant served wonderful food beautifully prepared, fresh and delicious. Good wine selection and recommendations.
Breakfast was also good, with freshly prepared produce.
Lovely hot shower. The bathrooms need updating.
The restaurant only really had the set menu of the day, and the kids menu was a little rich for my two.
- G (9/5): Glad we found this place to stay and would recommend. - Welcoming. Friendly. Clean. Comfortable. Good value.
Restaurant had excellent fixed vegetarian menu for dinner. Breakfast was great also. Room was lovely but there was a constant sound of trickling water
- Geoff (8/5): Room and bathroom large and recently refurbished. Dinner excellent quality and value. - Dinner was excellent
- Fiona (10/5): Fantastic location, great service, the food was delicious. We will be back. -
- John (8/5): Very good - Good location, but shame about the roadworks! Facilities and ambiance were also good. Room was good, surroundings very good. Breakfast excellent. Staff were a bit "iffy". Nothing over-welcoming angry the evening dinner server knew little or nothing about the menu. So either hadn't been bothered to find out or the chef hadn't briefed the team.
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fionna (7/5): Ambience good, but hotel needs some TLC. - Location Rooms could do with a little upgrade. Staff worked hard, but most of the time we’re on their own.
- John (10/5): Charming staff, clean and friendly. - Everything, its location is easy for Motorways, it is quiet, it is in the countryside with gorgeous walks in the local forest possible. I have use it for years and it makes a good stop for getting to the channel tunnel. or Arriving from the tunnel. Dinner on this occasion in the excellent restaurant, was a main course of Dorado, on a bed of Lingine, with seated peaches/nectraines. Totally delightful. With a Pavlova for dessert.
- Gareth (8/5): Very good -
- Sylvia (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Excellent all round - Superb location, best bedroom in a long time , a nice welcoming decanter, and a very good dinner. Nothing
- Valerie (8/5): Nice location and once upgraded will be a lovely hotel - The lady on reception was very good and was working alone doing everything including being the only waitress as well at dinner but she coped as the restaurant was not to busy . The food was good and nicely served the location is beautiful and the hotel is right at the side of a lake and there is ample parking they also take dogs at an extra charge. We were woken early by builders outside our bedroom window on the roof as they are replacing all the tiles. We would not have booked had we been warned that the hotel is undergoing renovation work . The bed was extremely uncomfortable and we were not told the electric sockets would not work unless the light switch at the door was turned on . We therefore couldn’t charge anything or use our dryer.
- Nick (8/5): Very good - Restaurant was very rural French, si bon apetit ! Food was really really good. Room was very dated and accommodation / surrounds needed some attention.
- Barry (8/5): Very good - A lovely spot to have a hotel. Down a small lane so very quiet and peaceful. It was a logis hotel where the food is the star, and it was. A limited menu but beautiful food, very well presented. Rooms were comfortable and clean. An ideal hotel for an overnight stop. No lift to rooms, which could be a problem for less able people.
- William (9/5): Comfortable & relaxing. - Loved the riverside location.
Did not stay for breakfast. Nothing to dislike!
- Gillian (8/5): Very good - Beautiful building in beautiful setting. It's all a bit 'tired' and outdated but that adds to the charm. An interesting stopover. We didn't sample the dinner! One of us was not feeling well so wouldn't have done it justice but fellow guests said it was the best!
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Hazel (7/5): Nice stay for a night - Good for a stopover- food goid Very hot st night - no air con - but we did stay in the middle of a heatwave !
- Richard (7/5): Lovely location - Location and ambience. Excellent food Very dated bathroom. Decor in need of redoing.
- Winston (9/5): Very good and certainly worth another visit - Lovely location and quiet
Very good food
Reasonably priced Slightly tires decor
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent food and venue Nothing
- Gordon (3/5): Poor - The food and the location. I requested an early check in and received an email confirming that it was Okay. When we arrived at 1400 hrs the place was locked up and nobody emerged until nearly 1700 hrs. I tried ringing but only got an answering machine. I know that there were people inside but they simply refused to respond. This is a very strange hotel which is completely shut all afternoon.
- Elizabeth (5/5): Disappointing-very much in need of a refurbishment. While the rooms are cheap, they appear to make their money on the fo - Takes dogs. Pretty location. Very tired and in need of a big refurbishment. Carpet in room very old, as was most of the decor. They stop serving food at 8.30 pm. The lady on reception kindly organised some pizzas for us ( but these seemed very overpriced at 20 Euros for a medium sized pizza).
- Laura (8/5): Lovely hotel - great as a stopover on your way further south/back home. Excellent restaurant. - The dinner was AMAZING! Really delicious and excellent standard. The staff were helpful and friendly Nothing
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional - absolutely lovely stay. very peaceful. incredible food. had planned to go out for dinner, but so glad we stayed. food was amazing and such good value.
- Peter (9/5): Superb - Fantastic location. Room excellent. Bonus to have kettle and mugs for tea making Very professional staff and service. Great to have evening meal outside on terrace overlooking the lake Not much but Breakfast coffee machine coffee was poor but hot chocolate excellent
- Nancy (9/5): A unique hotel full of charm providing excellent cuisine. We shall make regular visits. - The location was magical. Colourful gardens surrounded the hotel. There was a large terrace overlooking a peaceful lake. When we arrived dinner was being served on this terrace as the sun went down.
The interior of the hotel was beautiful with a dining area looking out on the gardens and lake. Above was a mezzanine floor where breakfast was served looking down on the dining area and once again looking out on the lake. Dinner was exceptional. The chef is second to none. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were bullet hard making it difficult to sleep.
- Anthony (8/5): Very good -
- Gordon (8/5): Very good -
- Denis (10/5): Exceptional - Eating dinner on the terrace over the lake. Quiet and calm.
- Mark (10/5): Excellent - Quiet and peaceful, good food, friendly and very helpful staff. Thank you!
- Neil (8/5): A very empty hotel restaurant in a lovely quiet location. - Lovely location, friendly staff, nice dinner. Room had a slight smell of smoke. Due I suspect to the very small number of people staying or dining, the menu had very limited choice (2 starters and 2 main courses), but what we had was good.
- Anonymous (10/5): Beautiful location and staff were friendly - Beautiful location Nothing
- Philip (7/5): Good - Attractive setting The bathroom was a bit tired and needed refurbishment- particularly the shower and the toilet. No milk supplied in the room for the tea and coffee. Overall the hotel inside looked abit dated in places but OK for an overnight stay.
- Malcolm (9/5): Fantastic hotel with fantastic food and set in a rural location - This is a gem of a stay, the room was a good size ,the bathroom had a shower and a jacuzzi style bath, the location was very peaceful , the restaurant food was outstanding 5 star dinning in a rural setting overlooking a lake
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful location, gorgeous rooms and a superb evening meal. A perfect and tranquil stopover on our way South. We had a smashing time and the staff were very friendly. There is nothing to dislike about this place.
- Elaine (7/5): Needs some tlc - The evening meal was nice but had gone up from a set menu of 30 euros to 45 which made it extortionate for a family meal.. Maybe offer a cheaper two course deal The carpet in our bedroom was very badly fitted with a gap of about 6 inches missing. Other carpets in the hotel threadbare
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely location, super meal Nothing
- Paula (8/5): Very good -
- David (8/5): Excellent evening meal. - Beautiful building in beautiful surroundings. Uneven flooring and steps could be improved.
- Anne (9/5): Superb -
- Anthony (9/5): Superb - restaurant offers excellent food really enjoyed it was shut when we arrived with a note on the door saying open at 4:20
- Joanne (4/5): Will be our last visit - First room we were offered was very disappointing but we were able to "upgrade" quite easily Massively disappointing ..We've stayed here several times in the past but sadly it has lost its attraction .very tired and tatty looking, dinner very disappointing ,restaurant lit like a transport cafe and not a soul to be seen during the very basic buffet breakfast.
- Rita (4/5): Disappointing -
- Martin (8/5): Relaxing stopover with good food. - Stayed here multiple times and always happy to do so. Very relaxing location, the restaurant food is always first class, and breakfast good value. Restaurant menu is limited early in the week, but the quality is always excellent. Wifi a bit flakey this time, but fine around reception. Normally it isn't a problem, so possibly a temporary glitch.
- Nasty (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (8/5): Very good - We had an amazing evening meal - wonderful food. I was charged more than the cost when I booked.
- Nigel (7/5): Good -
- Peter (8/5): travelling south from Cherbourg ideal stop over comfortable good food refreshed for onward journey. - quiet good food
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (8/5): very nice - food was excellent no air con
- Martin (10/5): Very relaxing stop-over with excellent food. - Everything as expected from a number of previous visits. Evening menu always looks restricted but Everything on it is first class and we have never been disappointed. We'll worth the deviation from the autoroute. We even changed our travel plans to be able to stay here on our way home. Have now stayed here 4 times over a number of years and thoroughly recommend it.
- Katharine (8/5): Peaceful place for an overnight stop. - Excellent peaceful location. Spacious rooms. Beautiful gardens. Bathrooms could be more modern.
- David (8/5): A relaxed and friendly place - Great evening meal
- S (4/5): Lovely location, typical old fashioned French rural hotel . - Lovely location Limited weekday menu
