Guest Reviews
- Anika (3/5): It was the most unpleasant stay EVER, absolutely filthy, smelly and unpleasant - The location was great and the host was responsive.
Host was accommodating to compensate $6.60 on the Glen20 we purchased to deodorise the home. It seemed like the property was bought, converted to an airbnb with the host's old furniture and kmart items.
There was not even a teaspoon for coffee.
The house has visibily aged , whuch is fine but it was not kept very well and quite dirty. We ended up spending our own money for salt and a new pan as everything was too old and dirty to be used.
Bathroom - there is a hole just off the bath tub. Whilst covered, you can fall in any time if you stomped hard enough... there wasnt even Conditioner. Wouldn't use the soaps provided anyways. They are clearly different to what is listed.
The toilet - the tissue paper holder wasnt even there, and when we first opened the door, there was a dead bug
The living room had a massive cobweb
One of the beds were broken (advised host and asked host to fix post stay, hope its fixed), amenities like ironboard was broken. Other bedroom sheets was disgusting. It smelt sour, felt moist and the scent lingered throughout the 5 days. It smelt like vomit, pee, just outright disgusting. I let the host know, and he told me to grab "new" sheets from the private use. Below is the private use with fan and "clean" sheets on the floor. The sheets were not even properly fitted on the bed nor was there 2x pillows..
The bedroom with the broken bed seemed like it had a pee stain on the walls.
Overall home stench smelt smokey, we purchased glen20 and it was an alternate smell of glen20 and vomit/smoke/pee for the 5 nights
We could also only open 2 windows in this entire house..
We were also told to keep our shoes on for "cleanliness" but it was just better to keep them on because the carpet was all stained.
It was very dusty.

- Gavin (3/5): Unfortunately didn’t live up to expectations or value for money. - Bryan the owner was very easy to interact with and accommodating although a little dismissive of the dog issue after we informed him we’d left the property early due to this. Aged home with tired fixtures and fittings and at the cost of the property v the next property we stayed at in Sandy Bay didn’t represent value for money. Sleep was also a challenge as from 9pm each night we stayed a neighbouring dog barked non stop through till around 3am, so much so we left the property 4 days into our 7 day stay. Although not the fault of the property made our stay disappointing and uncomfortable.
- Faithfull (7/5): Simple and basic but workable and affordable house for a short trip to the Hobart area. - The size of the rooms was spacious. The hot water was hot and plentiful. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen equipment was just enough, with basics provided, but no coffee making. The location was ok for us on a work trip but would not be great for holiday makers. In October we needed the heating on all the time we were in the house as it had little insulation. The drive was not useable in our people mover- too steep!
