Guest Reviews
- G W C (8/5): Holidays - Good location,good service
- Warren (10/5): - Good location friendly service and good cleanliness highly recommended
- Jacky (10/5): - Close to station. Only 1 min walk to shops.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hotel with good price - 踏進世紀樓,酒店外表及大堂佈置很普通,但接待員,以致清潔服務員都非常好客。房間潔淨寬敞,適宜小休入住。酒店位於華強北,附近太多美食了。
- desmond THOMAS (8/5): - Good Hotel . great location , minutes from Metro
- Verified traveler (8/5): nice place & convenience - felt so good & comfortable
- Soubhi (6/5): - The room was small and the bed was solid hard and very uncomfortable. Also, the breakfast options was very bad. No consideration for non chinese guests. No cheese, very limited bread selection. No vegetarian or vegan options.
- Zachary (10/5): - Big bed, spacious room. Close to 华强北 where there is a lot of electronics shopping & malls.
- CHEAH WAI (10/5): - A bit of a distance from major Shenzhen attractions but easy access to the Shenzhen Metro resolves the issue.
Value for money accommodation
- Kam Kwan (8/5): Good for family and business trip - it is a very nice hotel with excellent service, good location and cleanliness.
- Kwan (10/5): - Clean room and convenient location
- Kam Kwan (10/5): 家庭遊 - 方便又舒適
- Aftab S (10/5): - I always stayed in this hotel because of location also the hotel services
- Brooke (10/5): - I thought my stay was very opulent. The room was lovely. The glass shower into the room was very cool. The view was phenomenal. The room was so quiet, I wasn't used to it after living in China. Staff was nice. Breakfast buffet was amazing. The mini bar was stocked and use was minimal fees. I really liked it. The pool I didn't use because it was in another building and a hike away, but it looked nice when I checked it out. I liked walking around the neighborhood and there are about 4 subway stations nearby. I definately reccommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value for good services - A friendly and accommodating staff services. Great location for electronics and computer accessories shopping
- Verified traveler (8/5): No heating! - Overall good. But no heating in the room despite of the marking of "cool" and "heat" of the air-condition system. Cold for people coming from tropical countries!
- Tim (8/5): - We booked the hotel at the last moment it was short stay at Shenzhen. When we check in they upgrade our room and give us late check out..thanks for that. The hotel room is likely old but didn’t disturb our staying at the hotel. The hotel staff is very patient explaining to us about the area because we not familiar here. Close to subway station and there are some shops in the area, also not far from shopping center cocopark. Overall we have pleasant stay.
- PigPig (8/5): - Clean and tidy but a bit old. The air conditioning system is good.
- eric (8/5): - Near to the MRT
- Verified traveler (6/5): - location is good but building is quite old with unpleasant smell.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - A bit old hotel. The facilities in the other building are not convenient. Located in area near shopping centers. It should provide free breakfast for the customers.
- Oztravelleraway (8/5): A short trip for Easter - The Pavilion and the Pavilion Century Tower are both great hotels. The location - above one of the key Metro lines cannot be beaten. English is not prevalent, but everyone is very, very willing to help and let’s be honest, most of us do not try to speak the local language when in China which has a far greater population than the entire English speaking world.
- B (8/5): A short stay for Easter - We usually stay at The Pavilion but decided to try Century Tower this time. It is a good hotel. Unfortunately non smoking doesn’t appear to apply to the corridor and while it isn’t fair to not speak the local language, there is a lack of English by comparison to The Pavilion. That being said, there is no shortage of assistance and you cannot beat the location.
- Kit Shan (8/5): - Close to the shopping street, but no cover for raining
- DH (8/5): - The bathroom is a bit outdated but generally clean. I appreciate the welcome fruits in the room.
- Eric (10/5): - Overall is okay
- ABCinChina (6/5): - There are two towers. One is Pavillion hotel and the other is millennium hotel. They share amenities like pool. Pictures on websites are millennium NOT Pavillion.
Pavillion is a3.5 star at best while based on the lobby of the millennium, it probably is a solid four star.
Don’t by fooled by the prices and pictures. If you book Pavillion you will get a solid 3 star hotel but not the classy hotel shown in the pictures.
With that said, everything worked in room. Decor s bit dated. Breakfast buffet was adequate but not great.
Met my expectations as a three star but not as a four star. By then again the price was cheap and you get what you pay for. If you expect four star hotel then you will be disappointed but if you expect three star then you will be fine
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good tradeoff between price, location and transport facilities
- Phua (10/5): Overall very satisfy with my stay with the rate - Good location with nearby shopping centre and metro station. Good services and cleanliness of hotel and room.
- beardedboss (10/5): after being left stranded in china by agoda.com ,the pavilion saved the day - so were do i start , so while on business in china i was forced to sleep in loahu trainstation for a night because a booking made through agoda was not honoured by the hotel and was forced out on to the street at 2 am in china with my luggage but thats for another review. The only reason i mentioned that was because if it wasnt for that incident i would never have found the pavilion century tower hotel . After a rough night on a bench in a train station the staff at this hotel were very welcoming and actually allowed me to check in early due to what happened the previous night so i could shower and get some rest before my 12 oclock business meeting. the hotel is very nice and welcoming for foreign travellers . they have many english speaking staff on deck. and are always on standby to help . The restaurant has many western dishes and will modify any dish were able to cater for there customers dietery needs. the location is slap bang in the business area bout 10 min walk max to places like the seg electronics market. there is a metro right outside too . it has gym , pool steam sauna which visitors can use if they are staying . to be honest it was an overall great experience and will deffo be on the list of favourite hotels when i return to shenzhen. thanks again guys and keep up the good work .
- Adam (6/5): - Rooms are a bit old and not the cleanest
Gym is in different hotel
- Juliana (10/5): Vacation - It was good!
- Martin (8/5): - smell of cigarette along corridor, check in delay for 1 hour. Room clean and tidy and comfortable.
- Neil (4/5): - Advertised as 4.5 star but unsure when if ever I try held that rating. Too often with expedia it seems self-awarded and unchecked. V dated hotel, not near any of the main attractions. Wished I'd booked elsewhere and through an alternative platform.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice and clean hotel. Good location near Huaqiangbei.
- MEI (10/5): - Highly recommend for staying this hotel. I am happy with their service and hotel is nice. They allow us to check out on 2pm without any extra charges. They also help us for booked taxi to airport. Service is good and near to train station and shopping mall.
- BPK123 (6/5): Moderate hotel - Stayed two nights in July 2018. It was located away from the busier parts of the city. I had a suite with a small sitting area and a bigger bedroom and bathroom. Decor was basic and functioning. Food in the restaurant was just acceptable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay, affordable price - Nice comfortable bed, with large bathroom. Near metro, and the metro pedestrian walkways are very long and connects to Huaqiangbei. Near electronics mall.
- Yariv (10/5): Good value for money, good location, clean - Stayed 8 nights at the executive suite.
The location is good, rooms are fine and breakfast is very good.
Great value for the money.
It's more or less equivalent to a 4 star hotel in the USA .
Clean and well maintained.
Recommended.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice hotel close the beach! Traffce conveniance is very important!
- mark (8/5): I will return to this hotel - Basic hotel, no in room coffee or tea. wifi setup not as described in key envelop, needed help from front desk. Fresh fruit a nice touch, reminds me of the prince hotels in Shinagawa, japan. Location is great for Manha commercial plaza. Parking lot is tight but manageable. seems longer advance reservations are more expensive than last minute bookings, at least in late June.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice hotel near Wah Sun subway Exit C. There are lots of shopping malls nearby.
- SATISHKUMAR (4/5): Average stay - My first preference was pool while I booked when I selected booking , but unfortunately no pool is avalaible, it’s was waist of my money ,
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location hotel - If you are into electronic goods especially mobile phone, there are aplenty just across a street from the hotel. You get decent food joints, mostly fast food, in the same area. Do venture into the underground. Subway station right in front of the hotel.
I didn’t rate the hotel facilities highly as the fitness centre was closed for maintenance which I need them. Also the room was too cold even with the aircon off and heater wasn’t working.
Do appreciate the upgrade to the executive and room was clean and spacious.
- Wai Chung (8/5): A nice stay! - Perfect location cos just next to the metro station. Room was comfortable but the matress was a bit soft. I would be better to change a new one. The room was very clean and there were comfy chairs that we could sit on. There was a Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor called春滿園 and the food was delicious!
- Mr. Lam (10/5): Good Location - Beside the Metro station. Very near Shopping centre and the street is very famous in Shenzhen to sale the electronic products such as Mobil Phone. Webcam. ......and their accessory.
- Go_See_Write_000 (8/5): Comfort, Clean and Classy - Definitely recommended if you are visiting Shenzhen. Location is prime and metro train accessibility and bus and taxi availability is easy. The property has different towers and we stayed in the Century Tower. It has a gym, beauty center, indoor heated pool, spa and massage and 3 restaurants with multi-cuisines. The rooms are well decorated , spacious , neat and tidy. We were upgraded to a bigger room from our original booking and it was a treat. In room dining options are also available. Breakfast spread is also good.
They have a free shuttle service to Luohu station and airport. Staff is cordial and speaks fair English. Overall a very good stay option with family and friends. Definite recommend.
- Andy (8/5): Comfortable rooms - Nice view during the night with excellent customer service and concierge. Walking distance to HuaQiangBei. Need more upgrades on toilet section.
- Natarajan (10/5): Excellant Hotel close to the Electronic Market - Very Clean & Value for Money.
The view from my room in the 21st floor was simply breathtaking & fabulous.
The room service was very quick. I asked for an ironing machine & it was delivered with stand within 30 seconds.... The staff in reception , room service & Conceirge were very helpful.
Knowledge of English was O.K
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location near shopping area and great nature .........................
- E (6/5): Disappointed - I didn't think the hotel stuff was qualified as a 4 stars hotel.
anyway, overall experience was ok, could be and expected to be better. The location was really convenient, right at the subway exist, and right at HuaqiangBei district.
The Air Conditioning couldn't make heat, even though it was on the heat mood, I had to call housekeeping to bring me a portable heater!
- KOK LEONG (4/5): Good n comfortable stay - Good n confortable stay
- LondonPeter1 (8/5): A reasonable hotel. - Rooms clean and comfortable. Beds were very good with excellent linen.
Western breakfast was ok. Make sure you ask for the omelettes and reasonable coffee.
Always had in my mind their giant B rating for cleanliness next to reception! Just wish it was an A. Also very stingy with the free water. Buy it next to the hotel in a shop.
- Francois (4/5): Terrible WiFi - be careful Pavilion or Century - I booked The Pavilion, same trip but split the trip, first 3 days in The Pavilion, tall towers, breaked the weekend to return to the Pavilion, just to be send to the Centuty, poor cousin of the Pavilion next door. Very disappointing. Also no usable wifi in Century but excellent in Pavilion
I can go on and on
Don't risk getting cheated
- WorldtravlerPA (6/5): OK 4 star business hotel - 1. Location excellent, next to subway station, clean electronics and cell phone shopping, young people heaven, orderly traffic and people obey red light not much jaywalking
2. service in breakfast area poor, not much respect for customers, food OK, servers seem joyless, rude, not smiling or friendly which one hopes to see at early morning
- anishmehta (10/5): Business trip nice stay - Stayed in April 2017 for 3 nights on a business trip.
Next to metro station and walking distance to Metro and lot of shopping and food stalls.
Burger King, Macdonalds and lots of local Chinese food stalls nearby with a shopping street. Good view from the hotel and good breakfast.
Try to find room with Breakfast deal as they charge RMB 92 for breakfast which I found to be a bit steep.
- Jack (8/5): - I feel there is no necessary to register my friend information as they merely stay short time.
- Sajag (4/5): 2-3 Star Hotel, Not a 4.5 star hotel - Terrible experience.
Hotel Staff:
- Room Cleaners don't change out coffee mugs (leave dirty ones in their place), don't replace toilet paper, don't vacuum, and leave the thermostat on high at 9 degrees C so that we can come back and freeze consistently because they are too lazy to even turn up the thermostat after cleaning
- No fluent English speakers, or decent English speakers
- Room Service orders are supposed to be received in 20 minutes (take anywhere from 20-180 minutes)
Hotel Room:
- Broken Shower Controls
- Broken Bathroom door and lock
- Lack of privacy for shower (curtain faces beds and is semi-transparent)
- No Iron/Iron board in the room (have to wait 20 minutes or so for hotel staff to bring to your room when needed)
- No plug points near the bedside
- Not all light switches work
- Wifi is terribly slow, you can't do business or even watch a video without LTE/Cellular
- Sheets are often re-made and not changed (no way to even mandate that the bedsheets should be changed, up to whim)
Hotel (General Comments):
- 1 Elevator working most of the hotel at times
- 2/4 Hotel elevators go to all floors, 2 elevators go to select floors
- Good luck getting to floor 23 if the 1/2 dedicated all floors elevator is closed (one button calls both the all floors elevator and the select floor elevator so there is a 50/50 chance you will be able to get an elevator going to the 23rd floor)
- Christopher (10/5): Pavilion Hotel gets my vote Again - I travel to Shenzhen twice a year and have been staying at the Pavilion Hotel for 8+ years. Always welcoming and very central for what I need to do for work.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The WIFI connection is so poor that it was not possible to use the internet during the whole stay.
- White joseph (8/5): Good for shopping mall near the hotel - Good for staying hotel last time will going again willbe this hotel
Thanks
- Sunil (4/5): Looks nice from outside but only 2 star in ameniti - There was some weird and annoying sound every 15 minute you could hear while sleeping. Looks like it was air conditioner making that noise.
The breakfast buffet was just average. Almost same menu every day.
- Julia (6/5): Not a 5* Hotel - There are two parts to this hotel 'pavilion' and century' . The Pavilion looked very nice in its communal areas and also had the gym and pool however the Century was very dated and nothing like the photos. The bar and restaurant staff were reluctant to serve us as only one or two hotel staff seemed to speak English .
Although dated the rooms were clean.
- je (4/5): Stay elsewhere - Not clean room and smells of damp and smoke. But great restaurants near by. Tiles and woodwork need repair
- Verified traveler (6/5): worn out facilities but else is ok! - worn out facilities but else is ok! front desk was helpful and check in/out were speedy. breakfast was better than expected.
- Verified traveler (4/5): MISLEADING COVER PHOTO, - MISLEADING COVER PHOTO, ROOM WITH ONLY ONE BREAKFAST, EXPENSIVE BREAKFAST,RUDE PEOPLE AT RECEPTION,
- Mostafa (4/5): Rude and unfriendly staff.lack of English, - ive paid for the room with breakfast but found Rome only comes with 1 Breakfast, and they will charge u for 2nd person breakfast.they tried to charge me 250RMB extra which luckily i checked the bill item by item and find out.
dont be fooled by the cover photo, as the 2 tower you see in photos are The pavilion hotel which is 5 start hotel not pavilion century,i found this pretty misleading too.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Weekend in Shenzhen - The hotel is part of a huge complex and is in the Annex. The staff did not have my booking but were pleasant enough to offer a room as it was 2 am. Room was comfortable but a bit dated.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good! Clean, friendly , all experience are very good with this hotel
- Wen (6/5): no complains - Good view, but room is little too small.
- Xiu Ping (8/5): - It's a nice n clean hotel, closed by subway station.
- george (10/5): Nice hotel and convenient - Nice hotel in a good location and very easy accessibility next to the underground metro!
- richardlM1801YH (8/5): Business visit - A clean and comfortable hotel, conveniently close to my business location. A good restaurant with attentive service and wide choice of buffet food. A good room, quiet and restful. I would certainly return here.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Just don't care! - The room itself is fine but the level of detail to cleaning just is not there as you find with Western branded hotels. The room I was in had a shower that appeared to act like a boom box for anyone else having a shower on any of the floors above or below me. You could hear all flushing and running water. The air con broke but no said anything, just put a crappy portable unit that did nothing. When checking out, they refused to give me receipt! said it was through Expedia. Now in China thats a big no no as you need your receipt with the Fapiao in order to claim the expenses. The gym was poorly equipped with a exercise bike that was broken and the pictures on the hotel website were for the gym in the next hotel! Every Chinese owned hotel brand I have now stayed in has been very much below par. I will go back to the Hyatt place next time as this is the only one that has kept a level I would expect for a 4 star hotel. Its not shocking but you can get better for the money.
- Richard (10/5): - Stayed here recently during my trip to Shenzhen. The room was decorated modern and clean, whilst being very comfortable and decent in size.
The hotel is located within a short walk of a metro station, and also within a few minutes walk of shops too. I didn't use any of the hotel amenities such as the cafe/bar or gym, so cannot comment on these.
I would definitely stay here again.
- SANG WOOK (8/5): Good value business hotel - Good value for money. Met most of needs of business travellers. Nearby construction site is a minus.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Very disappointing - Reception staff are unhelpful and speak little English; surprising in downtown Shenzen when the majority of visitors to the hotel were English or American.
The metro is being extended just outside (august 2016) and the sound of the kango drill is present from 7am-11pm. I complained and was given a free breakfast; it was cold and unappetising.
The room was once smoking as there was a lingering smell.
Room size small given the price.
Generally disappointed given the current standard of many Chinese hotels in industrial areas.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great value & location, v clean spacious rooms - Great location, very good value for money!!! Very new, not luxurious or fancy but very very clean & comfortable, very spacious room, has everything you need. Good breakfast. Highly recommend if you are looking for a value 4-4.5 star hotel in Shenzhen!
- Verified traveler (10/5): V good 4-4.5 star hotel, highly recommend! - Great location, very good value for money!!! Very new, not luxurious or fancy but very very clean & comfortable, very spacious room, has everything you need. Good breakfast. Highly recommend if you are looking for a value 4-4.5 star hotel in Shenzhen!
- Gary (10/5): Nice hotel, good location in Futian - Equivalent to a US 4 star hotel like a Hyatt.
Good value for the money.
Breakfast is recommended.
2-3 minutes walk to a subway station .
Clean and safe area.
- Carina Kit Yu (8/5): - great value for the room. very clean room and housekeeping staff was very efficient when needed. front desk is helpful
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room is clean and tidy. Receptionist in frontdesk is helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A good business hotel - Service at front desk a little slow but everything else is fine. The room numbering is a little confusing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice little hotel - Good location, clean room, nice hot water. Only gripe are the pillows which are too soft. Should provide firmer pillows for a better night's sleep.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice hotel but staff do not speak English so communication can be difficult. Not to be confused with its 5-star sister hotel next door.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good rooms for a basic stay. English skills of the staff not strong so it can be a struggle to get them to understand your requirements, especially the concierge team but they do try to help.
- Seyed Hassan (6/5): Great one, will come back again! - Cons:
Old building
Nobody took care of my luggage before and after check-in!
Old room key (insert type)
Check-out lady was not slimy and nervous a little bit.
Very slow internet speed.
Pros:
Value for money!
Very spacious room.
Well managed hotel and maintained building.
Great breakfast with lots of choices.
Prompt reply to any enquiry.
Full amenities in room.
Lots of controls for lights everywhere in room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I have stayed many times before here, this time the free wifi Internet is almost perfect.
- jeremy. (4/5): Great breakfast. But it stops there. - Hotel is not brilliant. Unreliable wifi. And one very rude housekeeper. Bathrooms could use a good clean. No such thing as non smoking room or floor cigarette smoke everywhere.
Great restaurant nearby not associated with the hotel.
- weeminghua (6/5): Big Room, Average Internet, Convenient Location - Stayed in this hotel on 2 occasions, on 15 April and from 16 to 20 April 2016. The location of the hotel is very convenient, just outside C 3 exit Huaxin Station on the No 3 line. If you are into electronic and mobile device the location is opposite HuaQiang Bei Electronic Street, Here you can buy anything from computer components to Mobile accessories. Rooms are big, but with limited window opening. The rooms are well furnished but internet is slow. Service however is average at best for front office and concierge staff. Breakfast spread is OK but food is a little cold. Also take note there are 2 hotels within the complex, the Pavillion and the Pavillion Century Tower. If you are expecting delivery of documents from your client please indicate the right hotel and make sure you check with the front office staff.
- jeremy (4/5): Good surrounding restaurants - Great breakfast. But bad room design. Should have used an architect
- Jeremy (6/5): Great breakfast but not 4 star - The breakfast was good. Good variety and tasty. But it goes downhill from there.
It's not 4 star it's pushing sh1t uphill to be three. The first room
Wifi didn't work.
Keys didn't work.
Toilets blocked
And so so old and tired.
I said I was going to check out but then got an upgrade. Admitadley it was better wifi and more comfortable. No ironing board and iron unless u request it.
There is a great restaurant around the back of the hotel about 500 metre walk. And the hotel is very close to subway metro.
Not a bad hotel I fact good for family but not great for business.
- yvettachang (8/5): Nice Hotel - The Hotel clean and comfortable,
There are many shops nearby, a short walk to the MRT,
lobby`s Café bar is also quite nice,
Breakfast good.
酒店乾淨舒適,
附近有不少小店,步行不遠就到 MRT,
酒店大堂的咖啡廳服務也相當好,
早餐非常豐盛。
- Hoyoung (10/5): - Good stay!!
- 135charlese (6/5): Great Value - This hotel is on Huaqiangbei Road. If you are not familiar with Huaqiangbei Road it is probably the computer center of Shenzhen if not all of China. There are many very large buildings on this street filled with small stores with entrepreneurs selling computers and computer components. They're all competing with each other.
The hotel is very convenient to the Hua Xin subway, about a three minute walk.
From what I understand, the owner of the Pavilion Century Tower purchased the hotel and then built the Pavilion Hotel, a 5 Star Hotel just south on the corner where the subway station is. After building the Pavilion Hotel he refurbished the
Pavilion Century Tower.
The furnishings are new although not 5 Star. The hotel is very clean and polished. It is a very good value. If there is one negative thing it is that most of the people working at the hotel do not speak English.
All the rooms in the hotel are the same size. The rooms are big, especially compared to rooms in Hong Kong. If you get a suite it will be the large room divided into two rooms, one room being the living room and the other room being the bedroom. I actually prefer having a big bedroom so that I can enjoy the extra space all the time. If you have more than two people you might want the suite to have more privacy.
You might want to consider asking for a room at the end of the hotel. Then you get an extra window.
- ian007dq (10/5): Excellent - Stayed for the second time and you cannot go wrong
Rooms are very good and have good facilities, even built in power adapted for plugs
Excellent restaurant with a good range of dishes
There is an excellent bar on the second floor with European beers and a pool table😀
There is a good park just across the road and excellent shopping as well
I will be using this hotel for all future visits
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall the Hotel was clean and staff was courteous. Good location and easy to get to shopping. Food was horrible (unless you like Crocodile or Frog legs) and at times difficult to find English speaking staff. Ideal for business trip. Overall still a good option.
- Chyang (8/5): Nice but room for improvement. - Nice hotel but a little dated. Engineering work in the area could be heard late into the night. Can be bit noisy. Good that you can use sister hotel's facilities. Great neighbourhood in general.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel at decent price. - Nice hotel. Good selection for breakfast. Great neighbourhood. Staff could be a little more efficient at check in. Windows not double glazed. Outside noise was noticeable.
- Warren (10/5): Shenzhen for a week - have stayed at their sister hotel many times, Century Tower, but the Pavilion is a cut above. Had a great room and bathroom was great. Very comfortable, was sad to leave. Excellent location central to Futian and Luohu, the 2 best districts in SZ.
