- Vanhuis (10/5): - Friendly welcome. N/A
- Feng (10/5): - 设备齐全
- Sharon (8/5): I would stay here again - Nice hosts with clean facilities. The bed was really hard though. For the money though it was great. Convenient to Magna Centre and shopping. Hard bed
- Sum Yung Guy (10/5): Great Choice! - It was fantastic!
- ZAID (3/5): - I liked the house No shampoo no clean towels
No facilities you have to eat in your room and not cook at all
- Jevgenijs (9/5): I recommend this property. - All was good and comfortable. All was good and comfortable.
- Tamara (6/5): Acceptable But in Need of Repair - If water pressure in a shower is important to you, especially on a cold winters morning, then please note - there IS NO water pressure in this rental. Its extremely weak. There is one bottle of liquid soap on the counter. The bathroom counter was not clean (little pieces of dark hair left on the counter. I asked for a cleaner and paper towel (because I believe there was no cleaning cost associated with this rental?) and a wastebasket but I only received the wastebasket. I just used toilet paper to clean off the bathroom counter which means its now on the floor. Toilet and sink faucet work fine. The shades in the bathroom (and the opening and closing window) do not work well and need to be fixed. The window (opening and closing) also need repair. One of the bed lights (adjacent to bed) bulb was out. There is a cute little "step in" closet, with cute shelving but the light inside works only sporadically. Sometimes it turns on and off when it likes. The futon, though not in great condition, was mostly hard, which was important to me. The bedding was fine though I question whether its changed and washed after each guest based on the general disrepair of the items above. There were 4 flimsy pillows which I managed to put together for neck support; but perhaps a firm pillow is what you seek. There is a lock on the bedroom door, which is great, as there is another guest room on that floor, that I believe has their own bathroom. There is a tiny fridge in the hallway that works. The location is fine, very residential area. I stayed just after a heavy snowfall and although the driveway was cleaned, the end of the driveway(entrance from street) was not at all cleaned and tough to drive in and out of. Having said that, the space in the bedroom is used efficiently and there is adequate space to put your things eg shelving, tables etc.
Overall, I MIGHT stay in this location again, but likely on a day when shower pressure is not important to me. I did not feel clean.
- Sean (10/5): - The property was one of the best experiences I've every had. The owners were beyond accommodating and helpful with anything needed. Jack was responsive anytime I messaged and no matter what I need he was there. His father when I got there was so kind helping me move my bags from the door to the room after noticed I was injured. I couldn't have asked for a better host!!!..
- Barbara (8/5): - Location was quiet and fairly easy to reach. Not too far from the main streets
Good value for the money. A couple of very minor things, that would not impact my recommendation of this rental. There were no garbage cans anywhere in my room or the bathroom. I like baths but there was no plug.
One lamp has a blown bulb.

- Yahye (10/5): Cozy and Peaceful stay - Everything about this place was great and peaceful The room just needs a heater. Not saying it wasn’t warm but it would’ve felt so much better with one.
- Hamm (10/5): Absolutely affordable and Absolutely Welcoming - Everything was absolutely perfect Jack is amazing anything you need if he can he will Nothing to not like love staying here
- Marian (3/5): Quiet and affordable but the bathroom was disappointing. - The room was small but the bed was comfortable. The parking was convenient and the house is located in a nice area. A microwave was provided, but there was no tv. Unfortunately the window crank was broken and the curtains didn’t close all the way.
The bathroom across the hall was very disappointing. There was mould around the tub, and the shower curtain was disguising. The soap/shampoo dispenser was empty.
There was a small shared fridge down the hall but no dishes or cutlery was provided.
It was difficult to communicate with the host as he did not speak a word of english.
- Pete (8/5): Left my cane in downstairs hallway . It was not returned to my room and I forgot it . They knew it was mine because ever - Everything Advertised $47 a night by time final bill presented it was $82.86

- Mathieson (8/5): Great place to stay! - Room was clean and mostly comfortable. Bed was a little hard for me and the room was quite hot. It was clean and quiet. Would definitely stay again. Room was hot and window was hard to open.
- ELODIE (5/5): - The washroom was full of humidity (moisture)😫
- Timothy (9/5): Like home away from home, - quiet and all you need for a sleepover, when you are there for an event. - No breakfast, - location for our purposes was great. T.V. in the room would have been nice.
- ROBERTO (8/5): Jack is a great host - It was affordable compared to anything else available in the same area like hotels or motels Close proximity to our destinations
- Julian (10/5): -
- Adam (10/5): Very nice place highly recommend - Very quietly and clean room Nice owner and very good condition property
- Chris (8/5): Great value in Newmarket - Hosts were lovely. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom with shower across the hall. Property was located in a quiet neighborhood. Bedding was very nice too.
- faisal (10/5): - They received me in the middle of the night.

- Arlene (5/5): Affordable? - Loved the location. Ponds and walking trails in a nature reserve out back and very close to Upper Canada Mall. Nice to be in a neighbourhood and not on a highway strip. The second floor room was quite small and didn't have fridge, microwave, or coffeemaker so you had to go out for every meal or snack. I booked the room for the affordable price but wonder if I actually saved money because of not being able to prepare our own food. The owner also doesn't seem to like to use the AC. I was so miserably hot the first night that we moved downtown to a hotel the second night. We did return for our third night to find the AC running in daytime at least, though they shut it down again at night. Also, they might want to consider replacing the shower curtain. It doesn't appear to have ever been washed and is even growing mold.

- Natale (4/5): Sleepless in hot room with loud people downstairs 😒 - Location it was clean and comfortable There was no air conditioning!!!! not even a fan!! barely slept the night because of the heat.it was uncomfortably hot!!!
Then when I finally did fall asleep we were woken up by a baby screaming, crying, and playing and a man yelling this was going on downstairs in the house from 8 am till 10am! 😐

- Yousif (8/5): I was comfortable and quiet 🤫. - It’s close to everything witches great 😊 It’s was very small and there’s no kitchen and the sink at the bathroom was very tiny .
- Kelly (1/5): Selfish and disrespectful to people paying to stay at their property - Terrible!!!!
Basketball tournament with my son
We drove 2 1/2 hours
This was an Airbnb
Homeowners were there the whole time
My son and I were stuck in one small bedroom with a small bathroom
The homeowners have the TV on until 12:10 AM in the morning
I fell asleep around 1:30 AM
2:25 AM I woke up to their snoring
6 AM either the husband or the wife went downstairs to the bathroom
Then came back up five minutes later to go back to bed
I heard all of this as they had shoes by on
7:12 AM :
They are in the kitchen, making breakfast
The whole house smells of food
They were loud, talking loud
Also, they said their home is under renovations
My son and I were not allowed to go into the kitchen to refrigerate our food
We had to ask for a microwave to heat the food that we did bring
This was the worst stay ever !
Unbelievably terrible stay !!!
I woke up at 2:26 AM because of the homeowner snoring
But I found them to be unbelievably selfish
For the TV to be on past 11 PM
As it didn’t go off until 12:10 AM
I will never refer these people
This Airbnb
IS A JOKE !!!!!
So Cole’s Notes version :
They were finally quiet by 12:15 AM
Woke me up at 6 AM
Loud and cooking their own breakfast at 7:12am
Wanna offer me a coffee ?
No ?
Fine
Just be quiet for us to sleep as we have 2 1/2 hour drive home
And this mom is going on 2 1/2 hours sleep !
Thanks for nothing
You’re a joke !!!!
- Charmaigne (1/5): Very dirty - Nothing at all The room was very dirty and even the washroom that we have to clean it ourselves!!!
- Top (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tunde (1/5): Bad -
- Ashkan (5/5): Passable - Very bad smell
- Marialorena (10/5): An OASIS among the snow storms - I really apreciate the kindness I received from the host since the very beginning. Very clean and safe. Great service when I requested support. They took care very well of the snow during and after the snow
storm.
Very grateful for the time I was there. 💛🙏🏻💛
- Butcher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oscar (5/5): Passable - The location is good, the place is quiet and the host's father is very nice. The bed might be okay for one or two nights; however sleeping one whole week, the mattress does not feel comfortable. Also, I have allergies, so dust and the bedding make me itch. Finally, the posting should warn that there is no access to a kitchen and that the ground floor is under construction.
- Artiom (7/5): Great and comfortable to stay. - Clean room, extremely comfortable bed and pillows, location, clean, private bathroom, very nice. Very nice host, very helpful. No spare cutlery or cups for water/coffee, slippery stairs, room door code not included in check in instructions.
- Nebi (2/5): One of the worst experiences - The behaviour of grand ma is perfect Room was not heated, they brought an external heater to balance the heat, but it was too noisy. hot water was the biggest problem in the bathroom. Car parking is another big problem in the house.

- Thu (7/5): Good -
- Vlad (4/5): Disappointing - Free parking. Bathroom was not private. Room was unfortunately very cold.
- Satoshi (3/5): Cheap accommodation quite far from Toronto. Many issues that won't make us come back there. - Could come in and out on our own. The room was cold without option to add heat, the bathroom was supposed to be private but was used by an other occupant of the house who left hairs on the toilet and didn't flush it, there's was a smell of urine, there's a baby in the house making a lot of noise, no parking was available on the premises and street parking is forbidden so we had to find a city parking further.
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Younas (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (6/5): Pleasant - Clean and location Shower was broken. I would vote back if that is fixed.
- Lajos (8/5): The glitch mentioned above notwithstanding, our stay was very pleasant, and Jack is very friendly. - The location was very good for our purpose, i.e. attending a wedding nearby. The only problem was that I did not want to block the cars in the space in front of the garage (3 cars were already parked there) and I decided to park on the street, on the side of it where parking was not prohibited or limited in any way. I nonetheless received a $75.00 parking ticket. Jack gave me the phone number I could call during a workday as we left on a Saturday morning. I called the office dealing with parking tickets and they told me that Newmarket, the city where we spent a night, has a by-law from 2019, if I recall correctly, that prohibits the parking of any car on any street every year between November 01 and April 15, period. Jack should be informed of this by-law so that he can tell his customers in the future.
- Helen (4/5): Good location, good price, crappy atmosphere and staff - Location Construction, loud, dusty, cranky staff

- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Leng (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - The bed is very comfortable!
- Bersabal (2/5): Very poor - The place is good, but I feel slightly disappointed since, when I ask the incharge if I can turn on the air conditioner during our stay, the incharge told me and insisted that the weather is cold enough outside thats why it is not necessary to use AC. Also, bath necessities are not available like shampoo, soap and toothbrush in the washroom.
- Degoey (6/5): Disappointing - No breakfast was offered No waterglasses to brush teeth, no Wi-Fi, no TV or clock radio, no soap or shampoo in bathroom, no box of kleenex, no breakfast.
- Osman (10/5): Exceptional - Convenient to professional workers. I spent 3-4 nights without any hassle. I would definitely use this place again if it became available.
- Rafiatu (1/5): I will not recommend it to anyone. More works needed to be done. Unfortunately, I should have video - I want to know whether booking.com inspects the properties before putting it on the website ? The place was in a mess, dusty an organised house. The room I was given was dusty n bedding dirty n shedding particles. It triggered my allergies. So I left the place the whole day n came back late n packed my things and left. For the 2 nights I never slept well. The fact that it was misrepresented in the site.
Did not get value for money
No kitchen, no refrigerator, messy etc

- Jose (8/5): Pleasant place with good value for money. - A very pleasant place with a beautiful park next to the house. Bathroom outside the room and there was no minibar.

- Milad (5/5): was not what I expected - Unfortunately, there was not any additional toilet paper, we had to use one that brought ourselves! No shampoo as well!
airconditioning was not working the second day! we had to keep the door open as the room was too warm. even the window in the room did not open!
Also, there was a baby constantly crying (probably of the family living there) at the same floor we were satying. Could not rest comfortably as I had driven 1400 km to newmarket for a meeting.
The location and cleanness of the room was good tho. Noise
facilities
airconditioning
- Sriii (1/5): Horrible experience, do not recommend, owner is not respond when contacted and washroom uncleaned - Horrible experience. No communication from the owner when trying to contact them, no one to help us find our room and unclean bathroom Horrible experience
- Michèle (8/5): Quiet, clean stay! - Perfectly suited for our needs. Needed a quiet place to sleep as we were visiting family close by for the weekend. Quiet peaceful neighborhood next to a green space with walking paths.
Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
- Shubham (8/5): Very good -
- Mcmullen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mohsen (5/5): Below-average overall, NOT satisfactory. - The room was clean
The room was quiet
The hosts were friendly In the ad, it said the room comes with a private walk-in inside the room washroom. But we were told to use a washroom in the hallway outside the room. There is no way to verify this is a private washroom!
The room was very HOT, not air conditioned. There is a fan in the room, we use used it but it did not help, the room was just too hot all night.
There is a HUGE difference between central Air Conditioning and an Electric Fan circulating Hot Air.
- Kathy (7/5): Fine served our purpose -
- Moreau (9/5): Nice inexpensive room for two in a clean environment - Very nice pleasant people. Very clean modern and simple. As it says enter through the main house door. You are given a door lock code. The room is nice and private in the basement. All was great.
I plan on going back.
- Joubert (8/5): Very good -
- Serhii (9/5): Superb - Good service. The bedroom was clean and cozy. Great nature. Thank you. There was no heating. It was cold.
- Krista (9/5): It was perfect for what we needed it for and would book again! - The location was excellent. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to walk the trail by the house. The room was sufficient and clean, the bed was comfortable. The room has a bar fridge and microwave as well.
- Jose (8/5): Very good - The room was comfortable The shower was really dirty, and the room was really cold
- Kashefi (8/5): Very good -
- Luzayangamo (8/5): Very good -
- Max (5/5): Baby cring and a lot of noise, hard to sleep in this family house... -
- Saed (10/5): It was comfy - Clean No kitchen
- Ekaterina (1/5): Disgusting experience and dishonest host. Could be not save for your Health. - Nothing when there is no basic health safety I woke up early morning with a headache, nausea and high blood pressure. There was a specific, toxic smell in the room and dressing room. Having discovered that this smell came from the heating system and somewhere else, I closed the heating vent frame and ventilated the room by opening the window. Waiting for the morning I decided to check out two nights earlier. I reported the problem asking host for refund.
- Eyyup (2/5): Very poor -
- Alex13 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sultana (5/5): Passable -
- Rosemary (10/5): Exceptional - Check out the trail next to the house. It goes through a forest with mature trees and a creek.
We were there on October 31. I enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and seeing the young families with costumed children out treat or treating. There is no reason why we won't stay again.
- Carlos (10/5): Everything was very nice and comfortable - Confort bed
- Barb (7/5): Good - I didn't know breakfast was provided Kitchen was messy
- Dr.syed (2/5): Very poor - The room itself was cozy and well-appointed, providing a comfortable and homely atmosphere. The house exuded warmth and character, making it a perfect choice for those seeking a more personal and local touch to their stay. The attention to detail and the care that went into preparing the room did not go unnoticed, adding to the overall appeal of the experience.
However, one unique aspect of this experience was the language barrier with the staff. While they were undeniably helpful and welcoming, the staff member I encountered didn't speak English fluently. To overcome this challenge, he utilized a mobile app translator for our conversations. This approach showcased the staff's dedication to ensuring a pleasant guest experience despite the language barrier. The Host (Mr. Jack) spoke well as we spoke on the phone about the situation which faced that will be mentioned below. My recent stay in Newmarket, ON, served as a lesson in the importance of thorough research and clear communication when booking accommodations. The issue arose when the room I had booked differed significantly from the images presented on Booking com. The property listed on Airbnb and Booking.com featured two rooms, but the online listings didn't provide adequate differentiation between them. Both rooms were depicted with similar bedsheet designs and color schemes, leading to confusion.
To my surprise, the room I was given was located in the basement, a far cry from my initial expectations. I had never experienced basement living and found it challenging, given the limited natural light and a somewhat confined atmosphere.
I contacted the host to address my concerns. Their explanation for the discrepancy was that, much like luxury hotels such as JW Marriott and Hyatt, they displayed the best images of the property to attract guests. While I understood the logic behind this practice, I felt somewhat misled. There is a very small window in the room, like most of the basement.
The host offered a resolution by allowing me to check out early with a 50% refund of the remaining stay. I also contacted Booking dot com for assistance, but their response was unsatisfactory. They considered the issue resolved because the host had provided a place to stay, and offering alternative accommodations wasn't a viable option for me due to the extra cost.
Ultimately, I decided to stay in the room I was given despite the initial disappointment. This experience serves as a reminder for travelers to thoroughly examine property descriptions, ask questions, and clarify doubts before making reservations. Travelers should be cautious and recognize that hosts may present their property in the best possible light, and clear communication is key to preventing misunderstandings.
