• ashionye (10/5): Perfect for rest and relaxation, with beautiful views of Mindelo. - I absolutely loved the view from my room. I stayed solo in the quadruple family room and would definitely recommend upgrading if you want to indulge yourself. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. You’re on the top floor of a hotel already perched at the top of Mindelo, so the view is spectacular, and the light that fills the room is simply divine. You can watch both the sunrise and sunset from your bed or balcony. The swimming pool area is also beautiful and incredibly relaxing. I didn’t use the pool, but it was very quiet and peaceful up there on the sun lounger. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I was travelling solo and like to be independent, so I happily walked up and down the hill between the hotel, the beach, and the marina area. However, after dark you will need to take a taxi to leave or get back to the hotel, it’s a safe area, but it’s the smarter option. The only downside is that the room and hotel are so lovely, you may not want to leave and explore!

• Marvin98 (7/5): - De medewerkers zijn erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam en het is erg schoon. Elke dag wordt de kamer weer netjes gemaakt. De locatie heeft een prachtig uitzicht, maar de nabijgelegen buurt voelt niet altijd veilig in het donker en ligt een klein halfuur lopen van het centrum. Het zwembad is goed gefaciliteerd en schoon met een prachtig uitzicht over de stad. De kamers zijn erg gehorig en er is veel geluid. De deuren van de kamers en de voordeur van het complex gaan hard en met veel geluid dicht. Daarnaast zijn er veel (zwerf)honden in de omgeving die van 's ochtends vroeg tot diep in de nacht aan het blaffen zijn. Dit maakt het moeilijk om te slapen. Ik zou dan ook adviseren om oordoppen mee te nemen.

• José (9/5): A Panoramic Relaxing Stay - The location and views are simply to die for. It's Serena and silent with very clean rooms. People say that it's far and that doesn't make any sense as the island is very small and the hotel easily accessible. Nothing, maybe they could change the breakfast which was good but eating same thing for four nights.

• Stefan (5/5): Stark überteuert zur Karnevalszeit - Ausblick vom Hotel über die Stadt Mindelo ist ganz ok. Der Pool ist sauber und das Frühstücksbuffet lecker und ausreichend. Das Zimmer war sauber und das Personal sehr nett. Das Hotel ist stark überteuert für die Einzelzimmer, welche im Keller ohne richtiges Fenster liegen. Dazu sind diese Zimmer viel zu klein. Die Lage des Hotels ist auch nicht sonderlich gut. Oben auf einem Hügel gelegen von welchem man jedes mal durch eine herunter gekommene Gegend runter laufen muss. Die Preise zur Karnevalszeit waren massiv überteuert, weshalb es vermutlich das einzige Hotel der Stadt war welches noch Platz hatte. Ein Preis von ca. 70-80€ pro Nacht wären noch gerechtfertigt aber meiner Ansicht nach nicht mehr.

• Erik (10/5): - Breakfast was good. Great location if you are able bodied and can walk. Great view of the town. I would stay again. I walked alone through this neighbourhood as a white guy with no issues day and night. Their communication sucked but that might be a cultural thing. I dont know.

• Thea (5/5): Omgeving hotek - Het uitzicht Het hotel ligt boven aan een berg, met vooral savonds een schitterend uitzicht. Jammer dat er niet vermeld was dat het hotel zo hoog was, en de route er naar toe vervelend was door restant gesteente van het orkaan dat over de weg verspreid lag. Onderaan de berg oogt geen fijne wandel ing te zijn als je al lopend beneden kunt komen, buurt oogt armoedig niets toeristisch. Los van dat de mensen ongetwijfeld erg aardig zullen zijn, het gaat om de indruk van de buurt, niet van de mensen zelf!

• Julia (10/5): Casi nos vamos, pero al final fue nuestra mejor estancia en Cabo Verde - La chica de la recepción y el desayuno de las mañanas era super super simpática. Te llamaban a taxis cuando querías (2,50€ el trayecto al centro). Muy buena atención. Instalaciones guays. Poca gente. Desayuno suuuper variado hasta te hacían los huevos al gusto y al momento y se alargaban más allá de la hora. Estaba un poco lejos del centro y no se puede ir caminando. La carretera para llegar está un poco destrozada así que cuando llegas piensas: ¿qué hago aquí? Nosotras casi nos cambiamos de hotel cuando llegamos, pero la verdad que merece 100% la pena bajar y subir con taxi porque es muy fácil y están muy atentos a todo y el hotel lo merece.

In de avond met een taxi terug, (niet veilig in de straatjes en erg donker plus een deel van het wegdek is niet geasfalteerd, veel kuilen etc.)

• jmcunha (7/5): Custa estada no Mindelo - O pequeno-almoço era muito completo e bastante bom, sobretudo tendo em conta que havia poucos hóspedes no hotel para além de nós. A vista sobre a cidade era bastante interessante dado que o hotel se situa num local muito elevado. Estacionamento fácil e gratuito. A localização era bastante afastada do centro, sendo necessário recorrer a táxi ou transporte próprio (no caso tínhamos um carro alugado). O quarto não permitia escurecer completamente durante a noite (somente uma cortina simples na janela), tendo isolamento térmico e acústico bastante fraco.

• Catherine (4/5): Disappointing - It was fairly clean. They had a kettle in the room. The receptionist, Hemington, was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has no character whatsoever. The breakfast was terrible - the bread and pastries tasted like they were a few days old. They advertise a pool, but it was only half full of water and not much bigger than a bathtub. The hotel is quite far from town, and it wasn't always easy to get a taxi. The price certainly did not reflect the quality of the hotel. Only stay here if you have no other option.
• Iwona (9/5): Nice choice! - Location of the hotel is really nice - it is located above the Mindelo and offers stunning view of the town. It is better to have car / taxi to get to the hotel. Breakfast could be more varied.
• Diana (7/5): This hotel resort has potential but need to sort out the problems with its water supply. - The hotel is perched high above the town and we had a lovely sea view from our balcony. Breakfast was served in the restaurant, and was self service with a good selection. The restaurant was only open for brekfast and so there was nowhere to eat in the evening, despite all the adverts! The options were a 30 minute walk into town and taxi back or order a take-away meal to be delivered to the hotel. We were not informed at checkin that the restaurant was not open but staff did help us to order a meal to be delivered on out first night. The swimming pool was closed (desoite the advertising billboard) On 2 days out of our 5 night stay, the water supply failed. After a long delay, staff supplied a large bottle of water for washing. We had no water on the morning of our departure.
• Olaf (8/5): BEAUTIFUL SUNSET VIEWS ON THE TOP OF A HILL - I stayed twice at Pombas Resort. It is quite a big location on the top of a hill, overlooking the ocean and a part of the town. The view is very pittoresque. And the rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable. Everyday the cleaning ladies were cleaning all the rooms and did a good job! Some rooms are really large, others are smaller. Wifi connection is excellent. Beautiful sunsets. Nice balconies. Free water in the fridge. And for sale: Beer and snacks at the reception. All the receptionists are very friendly and helpfull. I could stall my trolley when I left by boat to the beautiful island of Santa Antao. Breakfast was sometimes good, but also lots of times there was almost nothing to eat anymore. They change the breakfast times really very often, without any notice. There were days the breakfast was available untill 10.30. Or untill 9.30 or 8.30 or 10.00. Only once they put a note under my door to let me know the next morning the breakfast was untill 10.00. Also one morning the guard locked the breakfast room! Although I arrived before closing time. Very bad service! The location is off track. It is 30 minutes walking into town centre. Mostly there was no soap in the bathrooms. THE SWIMMING POOL AREA WAS CLOSED IN JANUARY AND FEBRUARY 2024
