Guest Reviews
- Paul (9/5): Floating haven in the centre of everything! - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is like glamping in the centre of everything - an easy walk from Kings Cross / St Pancras. There is a modern pub right across the canal and a movie theatre nearby. Also an interesting floating bookstore and the canal museum. Shops and other amenities are not far away. We loved having coffee on the deck in this lively, historic and quirky neighbourhood! Facilities on the boat are very good - a fireplace for warmth, a gas stove, coffee and French press. You can sit indoors or out. Check in was contactless and easy. Host was super responsive to our questions. Just be aware there are steps down to the canal and then on the boat itself - it could be a challenge for someone with limited mobility. There is no wifi provided - altho you may find it nearby.
- Eleanor (10/5): Perfect accommodation - Accommodation was better than we could have hoped. Absolutely fantastic location, walking distance to nice bars and restaurants and really close to King’s Cross underground.
Really cosy boat and had everything we could have needed.
Very comfortable bed. No mains power but this wasn’t a problem as we already knew to bring usb phone chargers that could be plugged into a 12v socket.
- Mary (8/5): Very happy that we opted for this as our stay in London. - Loved the experience of being on a narrow boat and loved being able to walk along the canal to Camden and Regents Park and visiting Coal Drops Yard. Also found our host super friendly and easy to communicate with. The noise from a building on the opposite side of the canal, maybe an air conditioning unit, but the hum of the motor went on all through the night.
- JacMaz (5/5): Not a great experience. - It was clean. We were left water to drink. 4 power sockets for plugs, none had any power to them. Just one small USB point worked, not enough for 2 people for 2 days.
Toilet pump handle missing and didn't seem to pump enough liquid to flush the toilet.
Difficult to lock the door from inside.
No tea towels to dry crockery, no checkout instructions, no recycling or bins nearby.
Bed was slanted and uncomfortable.
Area was very noisy with bars opposite and street drinkers on the canal bank near the boat. Also noisy tourists staying on ither boats.

- Jagjeet (10/5): Location, host and experience all great👏👏👏 - Great location and experience, host was ever present and really helpful. Great experience
- Andrew (10/5): If you’re bored of corporate hotels and need some solace, stay here. Annabelle (the host) was brilliant and made sure my - What an absolute joy to stay. Calm and cosy, just perfect after a busy day.
- David (8/5): Rustic, smokey, no WiFi, no power, but FUN - It's a novel experience that you'll tell your friends about. For my American friends, here's what you need to know:
1. If you're taller than 6 feet, you'll need to bend a lot to avoid hitting your head
2. It smells like campfire smoke--my lungs got irritated
3. There's no AC power (sorry ladies--your curling iron and blow dryer won't work here)
4. There's no WiFi
5. It's basically a rustic RV floating on a river
6. The restaurant across the canal is loud until 11pm
- Stuart (10/5): This was a magical stay, great area to be based in, really friendly neighbours. Relaxing and just perfect. Would recomme - Unique, exceptional area to be based in. The toilet!
- Erik (3/5): - Lysande kommunikation med ägaren
Läget var helt ok Mycket låg standard
Gick inte att ladda datorn
Enbart ett 12 v uttag
Ingen kyl
Gasen tog slut
Toaletten var inte så funktionell
Sängen var oerhört mjuk och kraftigt sluttande så tämligen obekväm
- Mary (4/5): Good location, awful bed and odors, and extremely overpriced. - The location is exceptional. The boat was also clean. The locks did not work 50% of the time or the key got stuck, I was afraid on more then one occasion I had locked myself out/in. Also the bed is broken and old, I had a horrible nights sleep, it desperately needs replaced. Also the head of the bed is next to the chemical toilet so you all you can smell while sleeping is the light odor of bleach. Also half the windows cannot be closed. Compared to other narrow boats I've been on this one is well below average.

- Adrian (7/5): Great location, brilliant alternative and experience compared with the usual simple hotels - Good experience overall, with excellent communication from the host. Good standard of cleanliness and facilities. The location is unbelievably convenient - so close to main station, bars and restaurants, and the canal area is great. There was an unexpected cycling festival nearby when we stayed! The downside is also the upside, there is a bar directly opposite where currently moored, which is lively until at least midnight. Very convenient and there's so much nearby, but not entirely tranquil if that's what you'd imagined!
- Jenny (5/5): Fine for one night but overall, disappointing - The sheets on the bed were clean. Toiletries and tea, coffee and sugar were provided. None of the plug sockets worked (except for one USB plug), meaning no fridge is provided and the mattress sloped. The boat looked 'tired' and a number of minor repairs are required.
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional - I loved it. Thanks for having me, and Ronnie
- Amanda (9/5): Superb - We had such a cosy and cute stay on the narrowboat!
Check in was easy, and all necessities were explained to us clearly.
The log fire was so comforting it was easy to forget that it was a cold February night.
The location was perfect for exploring the city, being very close to Kings Cross station
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely spot but very cold at this time of year so defo bring a hot water bottle and extra layers
- Alexandra (7/5): Good value for money, location was excellent and host very accommodating. A unique stay experience in London which is ha - Location is amazing. Host was very accommodating and contactable during the stay-even arranging for Prosecco to be left as it was my partners birthday. The boat was very clean and the wood log burner is a fabulous touch, we loved it. The boat is a little run down. There was a storm when we were there and the windows leaked quite a bit which meant some of our stuff got wet. The shower also flooded and did not drain when we were there so only one of us was able to shower. All the sockets also stopped working during our stay also so we could not charge our phones.
- Helena (8/5): Fabulous - Once I got the stove burning - it felt magical. Living the London life I’ve seen in films - just me and my dog. Fabulous location. Walking distance to Kings Cross Station and the rest of London. And scenic walk to Camden. Stayed 2 nights - but could have stayed longer! Took a bit of time getting used to being back to basics. Like another review - bit like towing caravan facilities (which I’d never experienced). But it is a genuine narrow boat experience- with all that entails : ) A little pricey - but I feel you are paying for the experience and location.
- Jiří (8/5): Very good - Romantic, beautiful and experiential living in the center of London on the water offers the opportunity to enjoy the big city in a slightly different way.
Nothing will surprise caravanners here. Everything is functional, shower, toilet, hot water.
We would love to come back next time we visit London. We would welcome a coat rack and an ax for wood :-)
The bed was too soft for us.
- Sharon (7/5): Good and Bad - The location was outstanding! sitting the the deck was awesome. With a few improvements welcome back again! I love the tea available was a nice touch. The bed was dreadfully uncomfortable, sloping to the wall. the futon vouch was hard as a rock. The toilet and shower undesirable.
- Gabrielle (8/5): Lovely visit but only use the main bed not the camp bed. - This was lovely, very clean and tidy. In a lovely position.
Annabelle, the owner met me on arrival and showed me how everything worked. She was lovely and helpful and couldn't do enough. The fireplace was so pretty, it was actually a shame we didn't need it in the end Unfortunately there was no hot water as the tank had been broken by previous guests but as we were only there for one night it was cope able for us.
Although the main bed was very comfy the second bed which is a sofa bed wasn't. It was very hard and although a spare duvet was left to lay on as well as the main cover duvet (which was super snuggly) it wasn't enough. There really needs to be something extra to lay on the mattress for comfort.
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (8/5): Everything you need in the heart of London - Brilliant location. Very friendly and welcoming host met us on arrival and kept in touch throughout the stay. Fresh flowers in the narrow boat was a nice touch. Felt safe & secure with night-time patrols. Rained in a bit during the bad weather so had to keep things away from the windows. Insect repellent might be a good recommendation, wish I’d taken some DEET.
- Megan (8/5): Very good - We were met on arrival and talked through how everything worked which was great, really quick to respond
- Graham (2/5): Great location, but had to book alternative accommodation as not clean - Location. Well situated in Coal Drop Yard in Kings Cross. We ended up not staying at the property despite booking and paying for it and had the extra expense of booking alternative accommodation as when we arrived the bed looked as if it had been slept in and the sheets had dog foot prints over them. It didn’t look as if it had been cleaned particularly well either.
The water heater looked as if it leaked as there was a bowl underneath it which was already full of water when we arrived.
We were sent location and access instructions to the boat (the main entrance door which is left unlocked) at before 5am on the morning of the booking via WhatsApp. Payment had been taken a significant number of days earlier than the booking and yet instructions were not provided at that point.
Strangely the owners arrived unannounced shortly after we had arrived and despite us saying that we had found it necessary to rebook alternative accommodation because of the state and cleanliness of the bed they have not been in contact since and have made no attempt to provide any sort of refund, either full or partial.
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Superb -
