• Barbara (10/5): - Sehr freundliches Team. Das Haus ist gut ausgerüstet, es fehlt an nichts. Die Küche ist überdurchschnittlich gut, ein echtes Highlight! Wir haben uns mit unserem Hund hier sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder. Man könnte monieren, dass die Sauna nicht warm genug war. Aber der Blick von da auf die Landschaft ist so schön- da war das auch ok.

• Helena (9/5): a small hotel in a setting that has the potential of a large one - Almost everything, nothing is perfect;-). The area is beautiful big garden which can welcome a swimming pool. I liked the staff very kind, friendly and natural, the rooms worthy of a 4 stars hotel, the sauna which look like a rocket with the view (unfortunately in front of a tree), the brunch on Sundays don’t miss it ! Almost nothing, it is more for improvement .. a reception, even I liked to be welcome at the bar, it is more for the staff ;-)

• Meinrad (6/5): Empfehlenswerter Aufenthalt zum reduzierten Preis (ansonsten zu teuer) - Schöne ruhige Lage im Grünen etwas abseits vom Trubel. Die Zimmer sind geschmackvoll im afrikanischen Style eingerichtet. Der reduzierte Preis von CHF 160.- für eine Übernachtung im Doppelzimmer (WAFO Zimmer 7) inkl. Halbpension ist gerechtfertigt und entspricht der Gegenleistung welche man erhält! Frühstück sehr dürftig - kaum Auswahl. Halbpension: es gibt ein vorgegebenes kleines Abendessen (siehe Bilder) - keine Wahlmöglichkeit und nichts für den grossen Hunger nach einer Wanderung (für den Spezialpreis jedoch ok). Die Sauberkeit dürfte etwas genauer genommen werden. Freundliches nettes junges (ständig wechselndes) Personal - jedoch unstrukturiert. Wer Perfektion (Sauberkeit, ausgiebiges Frühstück und Abendessen à la carte) sucht ist hier falsch.
• Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Loved everything about this place. The staff were so lovely and made amazing apricot jam and allowed me to stay longer till my flight which was so appreciated! Will be back again!
• Iulian (10/5): Lovely and familiar - Surprisingly friendly staff, very friendly for (well behaved) dogs. It felt like home. Supporting in anything you need. We had the music festival going and they organised an evening barbecue with live music. It was a very friendly atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice vacation. Was everything perfect ? no. if you look for perfection, that's not the place for you. But it was the small things and the way they were handled that brought the familiar charm to our stay. Well, I would encourage the staff to try to improve what they are doing, if possible without losing their friendliness and the homely touch. And please please, have a garbage bin somewhere for the guests with dogs :)!

• Lara (4/5): Disappointing - It‘s a beautiful place, beds are super comfortable, everything is nice and clean. Downside: Bathrooms don‘t have a proper door, the toilet is literally right next to the bed. Most disappointing was the way the staff member at our check out acted. We were thinking that we had already paid the tourist tax, so when we said so in a polite manner, he immediately got loud and angry, telling us to pay. When saying that we didn’t like the way he was speaking and asking for a more respectful conversation, he wouldn’t stop raising his voice. Felt very uncomfortable!

• Kellie (10/5): Wonderful views with stylish African-themed interiors - Well-considered and beautifully styled interiors. African-inspired decor, with an assortment of interesting artworks, makes this a very pleasant accommodation. Especially suited to those like ourselves, who enjoy travel, art and different cultures. Well equipped bedroom with comfortable bed (not too soft); hairdryer, reading light, dog bed (if required), toiletries etc. Very clean and well presented. The views are wonderful. Good continental breakfast. Friendly owner manager and staff. Lovely secure garden area and outside bar area. We were recommended a beautiful walk (pictured below) by staff. We would definitely stay again.
• Eric (9/5): Superb - Family run and friendly staff plus only a quick walk to downtown Gryon. The vibe is 100% African sheek with more giraffe's than you can count. Sadly we didn't get to try out the sauna cabin.
• Sybil (10/5): Very friendly staff, traditional, but modern building with lovely decor, walking distance to hiking trails & shops, - Very welcoming and friendly staff that seem to really enjoy running Le Wafo. Very comfortable and quiet room with beautiful mountain views and modern bathroom. The building is traditional, but relatively new. Everything was sparkling clean and with an African decor throughout, which was very tastefully done, I understand the owner is from Cameroon. The breakfast was very nice and they also served dinner which was outstanding. So delicious that I ate there all three nights, sitting outside on the patio. Also, very convenient (5-10 minute walk) to a few shops in Gryon area for essentials (excellent bakery, bike rental, restaurants) and hiking. I can’t think of anything that I did not like

• Sandra (10/5): Fantastic hotel choice in Gryon with easy access to all of the activities the area has to offer! - Wafo hotel was lovely! A boutique style chalet hotel that is brand new in 2023. The room was clean, bedding of high quality and a territorial view from our room. The common area, desk staff, bar and breakfast room are all in one large space. Lots of comfortable seating with a fireplace view and windows looking out on the beautiful grounds and mountains surrounding the setting. Nicolof and Christoper were great hosts and Sunshine the dog is equally friendly. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk (paved sidewalk) from the bus/train stop which is at the edge of town. A few good looking restaurants and shops are very close. The tourism office is at the bus stop. There are rental shops in town, within a short walk. The train to Villars is easy to reach from the bus stop. Villars is about a 10 minute train ride. Villars is a busy resort area. Gryon is much quieter which was exactly our preference. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, including coffee any way you like it, juices, cereals, boiled eggs, fresh bread, meats, cheeses and other goodies. In the evening the bar is open with beers, wines, NA beers, cocktails and soft drinks. I will be staying here every time I can return. All positive comments from our stay! Fully recommend this lovely hotel for a visit to the area! The only possible changes we can suggest; *the sliding door to our bathroom didn’t completely close. *if you have a lot of gear with you the walk to/from the hotel might require a few extra minutes to walk to/from the train/bus. *the sauna isn’t installed yet if that’s important to your stay. It didn’t impact us.
