To call what Robbie prepares each morning a “breakfast” is a gross understatement. It is more appropriately called a delicious morning feast. Robbie is the consummate hostess, making every guest not only feel welcome, but that they are somehow a long lost friend returned to the lovely town of Mudgee. The only thing I didn’t like was that I had to depart after only two days!

We were warmly welcomed &  really felt like we were visiting ones very goods friends.  The house is steeped in history & lovingly cared for & maintained by Robbie & Errol. The rooms each with their ensuits are spacious & very comfortable. The house sits within beautiful gardens with fresh roses from the garden in every room. The breakfasts prepared by our hosts were exceptional & there was always something delicious to accompany coffee & tea throughout the day & night. Topping the evening with a port or sherry was most enjoyable.  The location is very central to everything that Mudgee has to offer being only a short walk to the shops , restaurants & art galleries. Wineries are a short drive away.  Our short stay at Forgandenny House was just not long enough. We thoroughly enjoyed the comfort & ambience of the house & Robbie & Errols generous & warm hospitality. A stay at Forgandenny House is highly recommended

It has amazing charm and is very well located close to parks, restaurants and shops in the heart of Mudgee. The breakfasts created by Robyn each morning are legendary. We stayed in the Queen Suite, which had its own sunny sitting room over looking the manicured gardens. We absolutely love Forgandenny House and look forward to staying again. The house itself, dating back to the early 1900s, is an absolute gem. Our room was tranquil, elegant, and full of charm—perfectly suited to the character of the home. Each morning began with a breakfast that went well beyond our expectations, lovingly prepared and delicious in every detail. We also appreciated the thoughtful treats available throughout the day—tea, coffee, cookies, and cakes that made us feel right at home. Location-wise, it’s ideal—just a short walk into the heart of Mudgee, where we enjoyed exploring the local cafés and restaurants. The hosts were delightful and helpful and willing to make special arrangements for breakfast. They gave us tips on where to go to restaurants and what to do. The airconditioning had to be switched on outside by our hosts. This meant that we had no control over the amount of heat. I feel the cold very much and found the room to be far too cold and was unable to do anything about it. Also the room was very dark. If I had realised that there was a suite to be had, I would most certainly have booked that. The room of the suite was much lighter and much more pleasant.

We will definitely return. - Robbie and Errol were generous hosts, giving advice on eating, house history and regional identities. Breakfast was amazing each day, the social areas beautiful and bedroom clean and comfortable. Highly recommended. Parking is a little constricted, so make sure you speak with Errol or Robbie about suitable parking spots.
