- Melvin (7/5): Lovely modern villa. - We liked that it was new and modern, spotlessly clean. We were met by Maria’s parents who were lovely. We were a little chilly at night to start with and were expecting the bed to have a quilt but only had a sheet and bed cover. This was soon rectified and given a quilt for the rest of our stay. Love the location, just a 5 minute walk into Puerto Calero where there are several restaurants. Also a new supermarket in walking distance. For us the bed was small, we are used to a super king and this was a small king. Just a preference for us. If you intend to stay in and cook the utensils etc are very basic. Fine for us as we ate out every evening but maybe not enough for some. The pool wasn’t heated so unable to use, it was freezing. Luckily our friends were staying in another villa just along so we used theirs. Overall we felt that it lacked a homely feel but wouldn’t stop us from returning.
