• Jessie (10/5): Wonderful! - We absolutely loved our stay at Valverde. The lodge is set in beautifully maintained grounds - surrounded by its own little bit of private rainforest. We saw baby spider monkeys playing in the trees behind our cabin, toucans and a sloth. We were so glad we chose to stay outside of the main town - it was so much more peaceful - but it’s easy to reach Tortuguero in a few minutes by shuttle or water taxi. The pool was clean and refreshing with a lovely view. The staff were all kind and friendly, present when you needed them but not overbearing. We booked tours before we arrived though the hotel’s website. Again, we were really pleased we did. Our guides were so knowledgeable and had a genuine love of the nature around them. We might have been able to get a cheaper price if we haggled in town, but overhearing other tours - there was definitely a difference in the quality of guides. The early morning canoe ride was magical, and the night hike was a hit with the kids - loads to see. The cabin we stayed in was amazing, comfy beds. We visited outside of turtle season and would definitely say it is worth the trip! Just the boat ride out to the lodge was incredible - iguanas, caiman, birds… The breakfasts were great and came with the most amazing view of the canal - not many of the lodges have their restaurant on the water front. We thought the whole thing was wonderful and incredible value for money. Nothing

• Martine (9/5): Relaxed - De prachtig onderhouden tuin en de vriendelijkheid van het personeel. Ik had tickets gekocht om transfer vooraf te boeken.. Het was mij niet helemaal duidelijk dat bij aankomst per vliegtuig de vaartijd slechts 5 minuten is en je deze dus niet hoeft te kopen voor veel hoger bedrag.

Cogimos la excursion de la canoa con ellos, el guia Ruben (el platanero), lo más, los niños estaban encantados, y nosotros más, una experiecia extrarecomendable aunque pueda salir un poco mas caro. Nos da pena marchar. Pero si volvemos sin duda volveremos aquí y lo recomendaremos!

• John (10/5): Most relaxing facility we have ever stayed in, no request was left unfulfilled, I highly recommend - The food was great, the wait staff was attentive but not bothersome. Ron Valverde was an excellent host and took care of coordinating tours and transportation. He really did an exceptional job He is clearly on top of every aspect of the operation. The rooms were exceptionally clean and when I was not able to figure out the a/c remote control I called the front desk and they were there in 2 minutes. Never had that kind of service anywhere else we have stayed. The whole experience was so smooth, it was very relaxing, and really showed the Pura vida vibe. Thanks again Ron and all your staff. More rain than we hoped for, but the facility had ponchos and umbrellas on hand. Can't control the weather, but you can be prepared.

• Ulrich (10/5): - Eine sehr schöne Unterkunft , zentral gelegen, in 2 min ist man im Nationalpark. Die Hotelcrew ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Leckere Cocktails und sehr leckeres Essen. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen für einen Aufenthalt in Tortuguero. Ganz lieben Dank an die gesamte Hotelcrew 😊 Es gibt auch einiges zu sehen wir hatten das Glück beim Frühstück Delphine zu sehen und Affen 🐵

• Michaela (10/5): Ein wunderbares Fleckchen Erde, hoffentlich bleibt es so! - Einfach mal irgendwo im nirgendwo. Perfekt zum abschalten vom Alltag bzw. von etwas trubeligen Spots in Costa Rica. Wasser Taxi fährt kostenfrei 3x am Tag, das ist auch ausreichend. Wir hatten noch eine Kayaktour unternommen, der Guide und die Tour wurden vom Lodge-Personal organisiert. Auch das können wir uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Tortugero kann man sich mal anschauen, aber eigentlich ist der Aufenthalt in der Lodge bzw. Ausflüge in die Natur das eigentliche Highlight. nix, alles prima

We were lucky enough to spend 4 nights at the lodge. The accommodations are comfortable, thoughtfully designed and serviced daily, making it easy to relax and disconnect. A special thanks to Ronny and Rocio, whose warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality truly made the stay exceptional. The difference in the level of service was noticeable after the staff changeover. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene, eco-friendly getaway in Tortuguero. There could tea/coffee making facilities in the room to increase level of comfort.
• Susanne (9/5): Juwel abseits des Trubels - Ruhig, etwas abseits vom Trubel. Doch man ist in 5 min mit Wassertaxi im Zentrum. Wunderschöner Garten mit Blumen und exotischen Vögeln. Sehr schönes Restaurant mit exzellentem Essen, aufmerksamem und hilfsbereitem Personal und großer Auswahl beim sehr leckeren Frühstück. Schöner Pool. Die Bungalows waren eher einfach, das hätte ich nicht gedacht, als ich das Restaurant, den Park und den Pool gesehen habe.

Perfekt zum Entspannen nach den Ausflügen. Frühstück war auch gut und auch die Möglichkeit, bereits vor 6 uhr Kaffee und kekse zu bekommen, war sehr angenehm. Der Preis für das wassertaxi, um in den Ort zu kommen, läpperte sich für eine Familie mit 4 Personen (4 Dollar pro Richtung pro Person). Außerdem fand ich es unpraktisch, dass man das Taxi bar bezahlen musste, die Fahrer aber kaum Wechselgeld hatten.

Our mountain suite was very comfortable. Food was fresh and tasty. Because the walls are a giant tent, the mountain suite was bit damp for the clothes we hung up.
• Gaby (9/5): Supermooie clamping midden in de natuur - Mooie clamping in supermooie omgeving. Het lag midden in de natuur. De clamping is alleen te bereiken per boot. De boottocht ernaartoe is al een hele belevenis. Vanuit de clamping gaat er een gratis shuttel naar het dorpje en voor tours wordt je opgehaald echt ideaal. Vanuit het restaurant heb je een fantastisch uitzicht over het water en het personeel is heel vriendelijk. Er zijn tenten en kamers in houten gebouwen. Beide waren heel sfeervol en de bedden waren goed. We werden wakker van de brulapen 😅

• Simone (8/5): Tolles B&B&B (Bett, Boot, Breakfast) - Wir hatten 3 tolle Tage in der Valverde Glamping Ecolodge. Die Unterkunft ist ca. 5 Minuten mit dem Boot von Tortuguero entfernt. Durch die Taxiboote (3x am Tag kostenlos, sonst für 4 USD) ist man aber sehr flexibel. Frühstück und Abendessen waren sehr gut. Das Personal war sehr nett und sehr bemüht. Sie haben sich sogar am Abreisetag um unseren Rücktransfer gekümmert, nachdem uns das Boot vergessen hatte einzusammeln. Da wir diesen Transfer nicht über die Unterkunft sondern privat gebucht hatten, waren wir sehr dankbar für die Hilfe. Dadurch hat sich die Rückfahrt zum Parkplatz gut geklappt!

• Elisabeth (8/5): Sehr nette Lodge im Regenwald - Zimmer waren okay, gute Betten, aber zu wenig Ablageflächen, keine Haken im Bad Gutes Essen, besonders das Frühstück, Touren durch die Kanäle werden angeboten, die Lodge liegt nicht im Dorf Tortuguergo, aber es gibt 3x täglich einen kostenlosen Bootshuttle dorthin. Sonst kostengünstig mit Taxiboot. Shuttle von San Jose und Weiterreise nach Cahuita wurde vorab von Ihnen organisiert. Hat alles wunderbar geklappt mit hervorragendem und sympathischem Chauffeur, der uns viel über Costa Rica erzählt hat. Zimmer hätte ein bisschen einladender sein können mit etwas mehr Ablageflächen.

• Kim (9/5): Unique hotel and location. Enjoyed our stay. - Our stay was great as it wasn’t very crowded. The rooms are simple but clean and come with a/c. The pool was nice and clean. The staff was very accommodating and responsive. Please note that this location is only accessible by boat transfer and you will need to book the transfer and a parking spot up front. Because we arrived after the regular transfer hours we had to pay $100 for the boat transfer that usually only cost $15/person. But we were made aware of this prior to our arrival. The transfer takes about 1 hrs from the dock to the hotel. We enjoyed our stay as it felt kind of adventurous and unique. The boat transfer back took over 1.5 hrs. It seemed like the boat was too full and too heavy which delayed the transfer by a lot. Because you are staying within the national park and everything is only accessible by boat, you are limited to the hotel’s food and drink selection which was maybe a little more pricey than usual. The bar has a good selection of different drinks, but it take a little longer to get your drinks. Food (except breakfast) has to be ordered in advance. Dinner orders take about 1.5hrs to be served. The rooms do not have a fridge which makes it difficult to keep any cold drinks close by.

• EINAT (7/5): - המלון נמצא במרחק שייט קצר מהעיר טרוטוגרו הגישה מאוד קלה. השטח הציבורי מהמממם. הבריכה מקסימה ונעימה הלובי וחדר האוכל בקונספט פתוח ומקורה מאוד מרשים. השירות טוב. ארוחת הבוקר היא תפריט קבוע ויש מבחר (ירקות וגבינות אין) יש במקום מסעדה לארוחת צהריים וערב היתה לנו בעיה עם המים בלילה הראשון ולמחרת החליפו לנו חדר במהירות . בחדר יש מזגן (לא להתפשר במיוחד בעונת הצבים) ומאוורר תקרה החדר מיושן מאוד כמו גם חדר האמבטיה. מאוד מינימלי קצת מאכזב ביחס לשטח הציבורי המאוד יפה ומפנק

El recepcionista fue muy poco resolutivo frente a un problema que tuvimos con un escorpión que se coló en la ducha. Además, te cobran 4$ por persona cada vez que te quieres mover del hotel, ya que está bastante aislado de cualquier actividad y del pueblo

The bathroom in particular could do with an upgrade.

• Júlia (9/5): Hotel paradisiaco - Hotel en un entorno paradisico, con unas vistas frente al canal muy agradable. El desayuno ha destacar, muy bueno y con muchas opciones. Las actividades cogidas con el hotel, excursión en barca y desove de tortugas, muy recomendable con personal muy atento y experimentado. Como punto a mejorar, la habitación un poco pequeña para cuatro personas y necesita una pequeña reforma.
• lee (8/5): - After arriving we were somewhat disappointed with the original booking. The staff were excellent and were able to upgrade us to a glamping suite. The resort was clean and very relaxing. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The original booking was slightly misleading.

• Manon (9/5): Luxe glamping - Wij zaten in een mooie glamping “tent”. Heerlijke kamer met veel privacy, een eigen terras, plunge pool en buitendouche. Binnen goede bedden, grote tv en zeer ruime badkamer. Personeel zeer vriendelijk en prima restaurantje bij hotel met verscheidenheid aan gerechten. Deel van het resort leek wat ouder dan de glamping tenten en had daardoor een wat andere vibe. Zo ook het gedeelde zwembad.

• Leonor (10/5): Amazing! - We stayed at the glamping accommodation with our own jacuzzi, hammock, balcony overseeing the jungle with monkeys parading in front of us in the morning. The restaurant/breakfast area was all open and overlooking the river. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating of changes in plans/tours. We liked everything

El pomo de la puerta roto, la ducha goteaba y hacía mucho ruido el motor, las paredes desgastadas, la piscina poco cuidada... Hay un recepcionista que tuvo poca comunicación y casi nos estropea la excursión en canoa.

• Bert-Jan (8/5): Prima uitvalsbasis voor een schildpadden expeditie - De locatie is top, aan de lagune bijna rechtegenover het dorpje. Faciliteiten beginnen wat gedateerd te raken maar zijn wel in behoorlijke staat en prima te gebruiken. Personeel is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam en spreekt goed Engels. Restaurant is goed, ontbijt perfect. Prachtige tuin waar veel dieren te spotten zijn: Spidermonkeys, brulapen en Leguanen. Ze zeggen zelfs dat er een groepje Armadillos woont... Het zwembad is mooi maar het water was wat troebel dus even douchen na het zwemmen. Kamer was schoon en netjes, sanitair schoon maar gedateerd.

• Nadine (7/5): Encantador y preciosa estancia. - La comida era formidable, muy buena y el personal maravilloso, muy atento, simpático y dispuestos a ayudar en cada momento. Fue una estancia muy agradable. El ambiente es muy acogedoer el único inconveniente que le puedo encontrar es que nos dieron una habitacion con la ventana sin cristales, hacia muchisimo aunque había aire acondicionado era un gasto increible tener el aire prendido si no se podia cerrar la ventana, no nos pareció muy “ecologico” Y cuando pasaban los huéspedes de alguna habitación que teníamos detras era como si los tuvieramos dentro y despertaron a nuestro hijo los 2 días A las 6 de la mañana.
• Guillaume (10/5): Really comfortable and nice - The glamping ecolodge was very comfortable and ideal to rest during the day between explorations in Tortuguero. The private pool, terrace and shower are refreshing
• Carmine (8/5): - It is difficult to rate this stay, as Tortuguero is a unique and remote location where I understand it can be challenging to build infrastructure or source fresh food. That said, I found the price for one night in the glamping accommodation quite high for what is offered. The gardens are beautiful and the setting is lovely, but the breakfast fell well below expectations. Overall, I would rate my stay a 4 out of 5. If I were to return to Tortuguero, I would likely explore other accommodation options

• Gonzalez (7/5): Our stay was okay with the exception of not having hot water. - Our room did not have hot running water and water was coming in from the outside of the room. The area rug was wet when we would wake up in the morning. They fixed the hot water problem the day we left.
• Auberson (10/5): Perfect location and confort. - Excellent service, all personnal very nice and helpfull. Great location, very quiet. Room very confortable. Monkey just on the roof of the hotel. Nice swimming pool. Free boat 4 times per day. Due to the location, boat is needed to join the Tortugero village.
• Mark (9/5): - Wonderful location - the lodge's view onto a backdrop of wildlife was spectacular! A few niggly issues like the hot water and AC not working, but all resolved quickly and promptly so no real issue

• P (9/5): Top locatie voor eengoed verblijf. - Ruime kamer met comfortabele bedden. Tijdens ons verblijf was het erg rustig. Het personeel was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Met name Mario was erg fijn in de omgang. Geen aanmerkingen.
