Guest Reviews
- Valerie (2/5): For 4 nights I paid $1,615.80 and was frankly disgusted. - The location was convenient for public transport into the city. The place had the feel of a boarding house with lots of stairs and cheap carpets. The main front door was often open and usually unlocked so I felt very insecure. When I arrived for a four night stay the toilet seat was broken which I immediately reported but it was never fixed. Staying with the bathroom, it had beautiful Victorian tiling but sadly this was not enhanced by unmatching shower curtains which flapped all around me when showering; and various removed wall fixtures where the connections remained. In the kitchen there was a very confusing free standing induction hob that I was unable to fathom out how to turn the heat down which is probably why their frying pan was badly burned by the previous residents (I did manage eventually to clean it with a lot of elbow grease). There was an open wastepaper basket in the kitchen masquerading as a kitchen bin - perfect for attracting vermin! Oh, and by the way, the pillows were smelly!
- Rezwan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anelma (1/5): Swainson Adelaide - Crisp fresh linen Wasn't able to lock this unit from the inside.
Felt unsafe, very good to leave there.
Poor and insufficient communication , very poor effort to meet my safety concerns.
- Dwyer (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Bowen (3/5): Poor - The location is very convincing. When I was in shower the bench which is in the kitchen falling off. The good thing is both of my friend and I didn’t around there.
- O'leary (8/5): Had a wonderful stay - Loved the old character and the location of the property A couple of the antique chairs were a bit loose and rickety
- Naomi (9/5): Comfortable and cosy. - The bed was very comfortable and we loved being next to the pub. The meals there were great. It was a little hard to find the unit . We were told number 3 and the rooms were marked North South East etc. Match up the identity would help. The bookings staff wanted a lot of identification sent to them. Including the receipt for payment. I haven't come across that before with bookings.
- Christopher (4/5): Passable but not recommended - Not much to like. The location was convenient, the bathroom was clean, the bed was comfy and the AC worked After going through an onerous verification process involving selfie photo with driver license and paying a $150 bond we arrived at the property to find access was very difficult. The key lock box was well hidden and the apartment was hard to find after going through a construction site about which we were warned. The door screen was broken and the carpet floors were not clean and my wife had to vacuum. The oven had a leftover roast cooking tray and smelt really bad and the freezer had 5cm of ice build up and required defrosting to use. I have requested the $45 cleaning fee be refunded on top of the bond but as yet no response due to the Christmas period. The TV was awkwardly positioned at the end of the bed and it was easy to knock on your head or shoulders on the way to the loo.
- Reiss (6/5): Ok but not clean - The location the building It was very dirty the carpet it’s disgusting and needs to be replaced or a rug put over it. There was dust at the base of the bedroom side tables the oven was dirty and long black hairs on the floor of the bathroom. Whoever makes the bed does not clean the room or bathroom properly or at all!!
- Ngoyi (10/5): Exceptional - Honestly it was the most comfortable place I’ve ever been to I love it 👍🏽
- Operation_hugo (1/5): Being able to secure your possessions inside the apartment is a bare minimum requirement - Nice old building with character. There was no key available to lock the apartment- so I couldn't secure my belongings inside. I arrived on a Saturday and they said they were struggling to find a locksmith on the weekend. I stayed for a week and they never provided me with a key. I asked for a discount and was never provided one. There is no functioning exhaust fan in the bathroom and the window doesnt open - which is a violation of the Building Code. The window to the bedroom cant be locked - although its on the First Floor, it would be a relatively easy climb to enter through the window.
- Rene (6/5): I’m disappointed. This will be good value for money in a sweet location when the Reno’s are finished. But you are not th - Location. I arrived to an unlocked room and with a key that didn’t lock my door. I called an they didn’t believe me until I had a neighbour confirm it. Telling me that the cleaner & a previous guest could lock it didn’t help the situation. I also had to check that I had the right room with the neighbour as the directions were not great and there were no numbers on the door. They charged a last minute deposit when you book and this hasn’t been refunded to me yet. They simply said sorry it was too late and no one could come to sort out the key. I called at 6pm to inform them of the issue! Feeling safe and secure is not to much to expect & you do need to go the extra mile when mistakes are made and people are paying for a service. They didn’t offer me a discount for the inconvenience. I had to pack up all my stuff and lock it in the kitchen because it was the only room the key worked for. It was lucky my conference was close by and I happen to go back to check on the room when I bumped into the locksmith trying to find my room. Lucky he had a spare key that did work and it was sorted. There are Reno’s going on downstairs so it’s a good thing I was up and gone early so the noise didn’t bother me but the fact that the building was then accessible to the public as the building was wide open was not ideal.
