• Katharina (9/5): Tolles Hostel, super Lage, gute Betten, perfekt!!! - Tolle Lage, schöne Anlage, alles ist super entspannt. Tolles Hostel für Backpacker!! Parkplatz in der Nähe, Anlage wird gepflegt. Fahrräder können im Nachbarhotel ausgeliehen werden. Keine Haken an den Wänden oder Ablagemöglichkeiten!
• Cornelia (7/5): Grosses Appartment, schöner Pool - Daa Apartment war sehr gross. Es gab 2 Balkons und 2 Zimmer. Es war abends und nachts sehr laut, wegen dem angrenzenden Restaurant/Bar. Dort gab es jeden Abend laute Musik, Konzerte und Karaoke.

• Nicole (8/5): Gute Unterkunft - Tolle Lage, liebes Personal und schöner Poolbereich. Das Zimmer war gross. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet und ordentlich, weil jeder Gast seine Sachen in Plastikboxen aufbewahren konnte 👍🏼 Ein Moskitonetz beim Bett wäre toll, da es viele Moskitos hatte.

• Fernandez Mundet (7/5): - El hostel queda muy cerca de las playas y cuenta con cocina y piscina para nadar. En tanto confort es muy práctica, aunque lo malo fue que el wifi no llegaba a las habitaciones, solo a la cocina, por lo que cuando desayunabamos había mucha gente haciendo calls o usandolo. La psicina es climatizada y es compartida con otro hostel vecino. Cuenta con un bar en la entrada, donde hacen karaokes casi todas las noches (y a veces se escucha en las habitaciones pero no es un gran problema porque suelen terminar temprano).

• Michelle Chloé (5/5): Höchstens eine Nacht, dafür ok. - Super hilfsbereites Personal und gute Lage. Die Anlage (abgesehen von den Zimmern) ist recht hübsch.. Die Betten in Hostel sind nicht komfortabel und unbequem. Es besteht keine Möglichkeit der Privatsphäre. Betten musste man selbst beziehen (inkl. Bettlaken) und es gab kein Handtuch inklusive. Der Spint ist alt und verrostet und befindet sich außerhalb des Zimmers. Für einen Zwischenstopp ok, für mehr keineswegs.

Es war nur 'ne Notunterkunft für 1 Nacht, waren froh noch 'n Platz bekommen zu haben... Das Preisniveau ist allgemein zu hoch!

• Roni (6/5): - החדר היה גדול מאוד וכלל מטבח, מזגן חדש ומיטה גדולה והמיקום מאוד מרכזי! אפשר לשמוע מאוד בקלות אנשים שמדברים מבחוץ או משאר החדרים אבל זה לא מה שעיצבן אותנו יותר מידי. ביום האחרון שלנו בהוסטל שאלנו את פקידת הקבלה אם זה בסדר שנשאיר את הדברים שלנו בשמירת החפצים והיא ענתה שכן. חשוב לציין שרשום שלט מעל הקבלה שהיא פתוחה בין השעות 8 בבוקר עד 22 בלילה ואנחנו השארנו את הדברים שלנו בשעה 12:00 בצהריים הזמנו לנו שאטל מההוסטל למקום אחר בקוסטה ריקה בשעה 13:00 ולכן השארנו את הדברים שלנו בהוסטל והלכנו להסתובב בעיר. הגענו בשעה 12:30 לקבלה והופתענו לגלות שהיא סגורה ויש שלט ובו כתוב שהם בהפסקת צהריים. למזלנו אחת המנקות בדיוק ניקתה חדר בסביבה וביקשנו את עזרתה והיא הלכה לחפש את המפתח…כמה דקות אחר כך כבר הגיע השאטל והקבלה הייתה עדיין סגורה. לולא המנקה לא היינו יכולים לקחת את הדברים שלנו והיינו מפספסים את השאטל! חוסר מקצועיות מוחלט של הצוות, יכלו להודיע לנו מראש שלא יהיה אף אחד…מיותר לציין שהם גם לא זמינים בווצאפ….

• Kim (6/5): Women traveling in Puerto Viejo, please read. - I want to share a safety warning about a man currently at this hostel. He is an older German man with light blue eyes and grey hair in a small pony at the back of his neck. I had a very uncomfortable encounter with him that really shook me and put a damper on my experience here. This was out at a bar and I spent the rest of the night trying to avoid him and looking over my shoulder to make sure he wasnt following me. The next morning I discovered he was staying at the same hostel as me. After speaking with other women, someone showed me an Instagram page with his photo as he had already been posted as a warning 21 weeks ago. The post described the exact same behavior I experienced and had 80+ comments from women sharing similar encounters (he also posted on there as well dening all the claims - he truly is not right in the head). Please be careful if you see this man around Puerto Viejo hostels. Trust your instincts and look out for one another.

• Matthew (7/5): Great vibe - easy to meet people - tough to cook - The vibe is great here - kitchen with large eating area, large amazing pool with a bar and music, late night activities at the hostel next door so you can get sleep if you want to. The rooms are tight with a private washroom for 6 beds. Overall great area in the main town but you will need to rent bicycles (i recommend renting else where for better quality). Def go to karaoke night on Wednesday and get the free wristband to dance afterwards! The beds are uncomfortable and slanted in the dorm rooms. Not a deal breaker per se, but keep that in mind if you're looking to sleep. Also no privacy/drapes for the dorm beds. Mosquitos come through the cracks of the wood and doors - i guess they can't do much about that. Also - staff are available at 8:00am which is inconvenient as a traveler. While they were friendly when greeted, the staff didn't make a lasting impression. The kitchen is often dirty and totally lacks enough utensils and space to cook properly. Even boiling eggs there was a struggle... if you need to cook, consider a different kitchen.

• Abi (9/5): Great value stay in town centre - Right in the centre of town with the Green Jaguar pub attached. It was pretty quiet. The pool was a little cool. Our car was parked in spot 7 and in the morning it was covered in fruit that birds had tossed from the trees. There were lots of fruit flies that got into the car as soon as we opened the door.

Es war leider nachts sehr laut, da neben dem Eingang eine Bar ist, bei der es jeden Abend bis spät in die Nacht sehr laute Musik gab (Karaoke, Live Musik,…). Hinter dem Gelände gab es ebenfalls einen Veranstaltungsort, wo es auch jeden Abend laut war. Auch die Gäste waren extrem laut und haben keine Rücksicht auf schlafende Gäste genommen. Dafür kann die Unterkunft nichts, aber die Lautstärke war schon extrem und keiner des Personals hat etwas gesagt.

• Colin (9/5): Great social hostel with a nice pool! - The property is very nice with lots of areas to hang out and meet other hostelers. The pool is pretty awesome for being a mid-tier hostel. Our private room was quite spacious and the AC worked well. We had an issue with our toilet leaking quite badly (clean water, luckily). It had apparently been reported before we arrived but no one had done anything to address it, so our floor was just very wet the whole time. They brought us towels to soak up the water during our stay. Our first night there was also pretty loud karaoke lasting until 11pm, so just be aware of that.

• Daryush (6/5): Good location, and nice landscaping, but thin walls and poor curtains and issues with the room - Central location in the town of Puerto Viejo. Excellent landscaping and plant life around the property. The pool was pretty nice for a relaxing dip, and a couple of the volunteers/staff were cool, especially Daní. The walls are really thin so you can hear noise from the room next door, plus people outside. The curtains are basically see through so there’s very little privacy. I had issues with my hot water not working and a brief power outage. The bed sheet had a big stain on it, which I didn’t complain to the staff about, but didn’t appreciate. Less of a social atmosphere than I hoped for.
