- Marilyn (8/5): - A lovely house and very comfortable for us 3 women. Location was excellent .. quiet with close proximity to the town.
- Cate (10/5): A beautiful, comfortable, and well-equipped home in a peaceful setting—highly recommended - Beautifully restored home in a quite and peaceful location. Lovely open plan space, which was very comfortable to be in. The property was immaculate, and we had every thing we needed to feel right at home. We were offered a choice of three bedrooms, the ones we chose had very comfy beds. The artwork throughout the home was fabulous and we found ourselves speeding quite a bit of time admiring the pieces. We loved the deck which lead out to a large and very spacious backyard. The parking on the property was excellent making unloading and getting settled a breeze. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we would highly recommend this property to others.
- Alarna (10/5): House was charming, clean, comfortable and great location. The yard was massive and clean also. Would definitely stay ag - House was charming, clean, comfortable and great location. The yard was massive and clean also Nothing it’s was beautiful

- Emma (10/5): Perfect Southern Highlands stay - Huge yard was great for our dog. Well equipped and all beds super comfortable.
We needed to push check out back last minute and the owners went out of their way to help us. Much appreciated N/a
- sarah (10/5): Great place to stay with the family - Beautiful house, and in a great location in Mittagong.
- Timothy (9/5): A quick break with friends while we enjoyed some of the Highlands offerings - The art! The quiet setting and being able to go for walks nearby. THe kitchen utensils suited bbqs but were a bit light on for indoor feasting

- Sally (10/5): Fantastic hosts and a charming property - This is our third stay at The Alfred - the home is perfectly equipped and beautifully appointed. Alex and Rob are marvellous hosts, I can highly recommend

- Kristy (10/5): - Loved the house, it was clean, comfortable and had a great yard for my dog.
- Bethany (8/5): - Really lovely cottage, interesting artwork, gorgeous kitchen and very, very spacious backyard. Safe and secure and well located to the main drag of Mittagong. The house is extremely cold and it took about an hour to get the house somewhat warm. Lots of gaps and not very well insulated. I wouldn't come back in winter to be honest but would come back in spring or autumn!
- Leslie (10/5): -
- Hayden (10/5): Exceptional -
- Craig (8/5): A great little house in Mitta - Lovely house in a quiet street just a short walk from Mittagong town. Bright and airy living & kitchen area with all required appliances and nice furnishings. Oil heaters & electric blankets for the cold winter nights.
- Shalimar (10/5): Perfect stay with the family i - This house is gorgeous. Serious artwork envy! The garden is great for the kids to run around. Nice littlw walk to the main st of Mittagong This house definitely is on the colder side (like most old houses). You'll definitely need to make use of the extra blankets overnight. This definitely wasn't a problem
- Gabrielle (10/5): Wonderful pet friendly cottage - Stylish cottage, very well appointed including electric blankets! Outstanding yard for pets. Lovely relaxing house.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the artworks.
Was nice and cosy.
Easy check in, check out and good communication Nil.
- Anita (9/5): Convenient location, peaceful and perfect for all the family. - Peaceful and close to transport and restaurants.
- Sasita (9/5): Superb -
- Kim (10/5): Just beautiful. - Beautiful, cosy cottage, so much comfort and all you need for a stay away from the business of life. Alex is a wonderful host and the Alfred is faultless.

- Wendy (8/5): Very good -
- Teresa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edouard (10/5): Very nice house. Feel at home - The house is very nice. Love the living room.
- Jennifer (9/5): Great for a small group. Clean and comfortable. Good location. Pet friendly. - Loved the location - quiet street, quiet neighbours, close to shopping. House bright and cheerful ambience. Friendly, welcoming hosts, incl Alex, who lives in a nearby house. Very dog friendly - great backyard and covered deck (esp for rain). Liked choice of ceiling fans , aircon, open windows/doors. I forgot to check out the bathroom before booking but we 4 coped with the small bathroom, good shower over narrow old bath and one toilet (in bathroom) Found out after arrival that pets not allowed on lounge or beds but came prepared anyway with large covers. Pods for coffee maker supplied but no instant coffee. Only 2 kitchen power points at bench level on a small bench area adjacent to hot plate- had to be careful with kettle and toaster and hotplate so close or else use electric items on wooden kitchen table (where there was a nearby double powerpoint, one side of which did not work). We brought frozen food but found some already in the freezer - a note on arrival advising what to do with the existing freezer contents would have been helpful. We think a houseful of 6 - 8 people would have some difficulty with bathroom use.
- Sianne (9/5): Superb -
- Josephine (7/5): Pleasant stay in a pretty home in a lovely location - Comfy bed and great secure yard for dogs to play and run. Coffee machine was lovely touch. House was very clean and we loved the smart TV. Plenty of blankets and a great outdoor deck. Kitchen not equipped enough. Only basic cooking items which was disappointing. Wanted to cook pasta but no pot to do this. No salad bowl, had to use salad spinner as a bowl. And lounge is quite small for a 6 person home.
- Penny (10/5): Fabulous stay at The Alfred - We had a lovely stay at The Alfred. It was light, bright and exceptionally clean. The art work was unique and it almost felt like we were visiting a mini gallery. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend 😁
- Emma (10/5): Lovely cottage with everything we needed, with beautiful plants and artwork styling. - Lovely property, big back yard, everything we needed. The house had all of the minimum necessities and more. Pet friendly. Lovely plants throughout - really nice little touches like panadol in the bathroom! Coffee machine! The only thing to comment on was the kids didn’t like the picture of the man with the gun in the third room.
- Jenny (8/5): Mittagong stay. - Nice and light and bright We don't feel hospitality is stripping sheets, and sweeping floors/vacuming never come across this before.
We stay in the Southern Highlands often, maybe after a long drive, some fresh milk, bread, and butter would bring a nice touch !
- Claire (9/5): Superb -
- Samantha (10/5): It was exactly what we were looking for. -
- Lesley (9/5): Superb -
- Jo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Comfortable, convenient and very helpful hosts Only one bathroom, but knew that before we turned up
- Michelle (10/5): I’ll be back! It was a beautiful house and great location - It was a beautiful pet friendly home with everything needed. The reception on the tv was poor so I couldn’t watch normal tv and missed my show.
- Alice (10/5): A very good and comfortable house to stay in - The place is very well kept, equipped and clean.
- Kathleen (8/5): Very good -
- Corey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tanya (8/5): Very good -
- George (10/5): Very clean, comfortable and just what we needed. Highly recommend. - The house was extremely clean and very comfortable. Easy to gain access with the lock box.
- Gabriel (10/5): Cosy home away from home - excellent exploration start point - WYSIWYG - no photo shop..... awesome hosts. Warm electric blankets for the 7 degree nights. Spacious and cosy....... near food, amenities, tourist spots..... All good
- Tara (9/5): Amazing property, highly recommend! - Amazing property! Great location walking distance into Mittagong & and easy drive to the rest of Southern Highlands & all it has to offer! Photos genuinely reflect the beautiful quality of the place! Was dog friendly too and fully fenced. And fire pit was so nice at night! Thin walls made the property cold at night and not sound proof, but doona was nice and warm. We had a baby, so needed extra blankets to keep Bub warm.
- Alexandra (9/5): Inviting, comfortable and functional. -
- Lucy (10/5): Terrific basr for busy Mittagong weekends - Great location, close to Frensham school, backyard and kitchen were great. Nothing
- Natalie (10/5): Comfortable, stylish home close to everything. - Adorable & stylish home with a fantastic backyard. Nothing!
- Jttf (9/5): Brilliant weekend stay - Light filled home, cosy home. It had all the kitchen basics our family needed for a weekend stay. Hosts were super thoughtful to include things such a cooking oil, salt & pepper, small milk cartons, dishwasher tablets etc.
The beds were comfy with electric blankets & spare blankets, shower pressure was great, washing machine & dryer were clean and in great working order.
There was bright artwork & furniture throughout.
Communication was clear, checking in & out was easy. Due to bad weather our plans got cancelled, Alex was nice enough to let us check in early.
We definitely would come back again. There was only one toilet/ bathroom which made it a bit hard for a family.
Not a deal breaker but would've made things a lot easier if the toilet was separate.
- Luisa (9/5): Superb - I booked for my relatives and they thoroughly enjoyed their stay and would highly recommend it.
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional - Child friendly. Toys. High chair. Clean
- Susan (10/5): Recommended! - Lovely clean warm cottage and wonderful hosts
- Mardi (5/5): Not Pet Friendly - It was in a quiet neighbourhood. The was supposed to be pet friendly. We had a 12 week old puppy, and there were so many temptations, which meant we had to be constantly on our guard so that he did not grab magazines, items on low shelves, etc.
We managed to avoid any pitfalls or toileting incidents but were on tenterhooks continuously.
There is no ensuite, and the shower is over the bath, which could be difficult for some.
I felt it was overpriced.
- Esther (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (9/5): Spacious and comfortable home within easy walking distance of Mittagong centre. - Clean, light and airy with plenty of space. Great enclosed outdoor space ideal for families. Microwave was on top of a tall fridge and not reachable for some.
- Marilyn (10/5): We had an Absolutely fabulous stay. - What a great property!!
everything was fabulous!
We took our dog for the first time away with us,the large secure backyard was fabulous for her.
Host Alex was very welcoming would definitely be back. Nothing
- Nicola (9/5): Superb - The house was lovely. Very clean and comfortable and the lovely back lawn delighted our dog.
The art works were an added bonus and discussion point.
- Laura (10/5): an absolute gem in Mittagong! - it was a perfect base to explore the highlands from! we loved the artwork throughout the house and eating on the back deck.
- Graeme (10/5): Exceptional - The accommodation was amazingly set out. Every drawer had spare blankets, the bathroom had soaps and body wash. The kitchen had tea and coffee, and when we arrived, there was fresh milk, butter, eggs, and bread ready to use.
A delightful and peaceful place to stay at.
- James (9/5): Superb - The art in the house is beautiful. The whole place is cosy, comfortable and attractive. It's an easy walk into town, and Mittagong is a great location. Being an old house, there aren't many power-points in the kitchen—but to be fair there aren't many places you could put them. This is only a minor quibble though. Overall the place is lovely.
- Sarah (9/5): Everything we needed for an enjoyable week in the Highlands. - The garden was brilliant, pet friendly, great deck, warm welcome and the eggs. House was super comfortable and hosts lovely. Leaving
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Mathew (10/5): Wonderful place, we felt so comfortable and well looked after. - We absolutely loved our stay. The house is freshly renovated from top to bottom and is just lovely. And the little details are so well appreciated, like some bread, milk and butter on arrival, olive oil for cooking, and all the bathroom necessities. We will absolutely love to return.
- Debbie (10/5): A most special long weekend away with great facilities and in an amazing location. - such a stunning and well decorated home - felt like home away from home! Fresh eggs and milk were rally appreciated. Our fur baby loved the garden. Would definitely love to return. Thank you
