Guest Reviews
- Kody (10/5): Clean spacious room with wonderful staff - Owners were very polite and helpful
- Laass (10/5): - I have stayed here several times before. Super clean, nice and roomy, great options for breakfast, has a fully equipped kitchen. Nice a close to walking oval and trails, restaurants. Owners are very accommodating and friendly.

- Julie Ann (10/5): - Joe is so welcoming, we didn't expect that it was so big, and the bed was like the bed that used on the top star hotel., the location was around town which is a plus. I highly suggest this to anyone.
- Suzanne (8/5): Comfortable place. We definitely stay again! - Comfortable beds!
Well stocked kitchen! We ran out of toilet paper.
- Suzanne (8/5): It was perfect for us. We would return. - Nice kitchen and comfortable beds.
Bathroom amenities perfect. Breakfast was just OK.
Shower was uncomfortable.
- Youssef (10/5): -
- Dana (9/5): Pleasantly surprised. - Central location and although right on a busy road it was relatively quiet. Easy to grab breakfast such as creal and yogurt. Although it was winter the room was very, very hot and I didn't have the ability to adjust the temperature.
- Hilda (10/5): - Everything was fine.
- STEPHEN (9/5): -

- Michelle (9/5): Overall a clean, comfortable suite with everything you need. - Location was great, right on the main street and close to everything. The suite was very clean and comfortable. Joe was an excellent host, very friendly and quick to respond.
Breakfast was simple, with a stocked kitchen including toast and jam, butter, hard-boiled eggs, cheese, fruit, yogurt, cereal, milk, coffee/tea, flavored coffee creamer, and orange juice. I also appreciated having a space heater, full kitchen, bathroom amenities, good Wi-Fi, and plenty of room to spread out. It would be nice to have a TV in the bedroom area.
One thing to note is that the bathroom’s tub/shower is under a slanted roof, so a taller guest may find it harder when showering.
Being right on the highway and close to the train tracks, there is some traffic and train noise, but this is unavoidable in Burns Lake no matter where you stay.
- Regina (9/5): - Tolle Wohnung. Alles da und noch mehr als das! An alles ist gedacht. Liebevoll eingerichtet.
- Peter (10/5): Excellent host and facility. - Centrally located, very clean and the owner thinks of everything.
- Margret (8/5): -
- Quixotica (1/5): Strangest Communication with an Owner Ever - Location right off our route, large and beautiful room, comfortable beds.
Good breakfast options. Bizarre call and communication with owner. Aggressively accused us of purposefully breaking the shower, called and berated me for being a liar - insisted I'd be paying for an investigation and large repairs. Called me dishonest when I was baffled, threatened to have me kicked off booking.com, and hung up on me when I tried to defend myself. Made for a very stressful day after we left.
No deadbolt or chain on guest side of door between owner's apartment. Owners seem safe enough but that was a little uncomfortable.
Shower is built under the stairs, I'm average height and couldn't stand up fully. Would likely be a problem for a lot of people.
Exit sign in room is huge and commercial grade - whole room is bright red at night. If we hadn't gotten in so late we could have figured out a way to climb up to cover it with a towel.
- Cindy (8/5): I would stay here again - 2 beds and very clean. With a nice breakfast in fridge The floors on a slope and host came to talk to us twice. I have never had that before. He’s a very nice older gentleman who brought us more coffee
- Daniel (10/5): The stay was great, very friendly owners and very helpful, the facility was extremely clean I would - Friendly owner, clean relaxing great environment
- Adriaan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yvonne (10/5): Perfect, Large but Cosy Accomodation - Everything. Large but cosy, well furnished accomodation, with all amenities. The host was charming and welcoming. Nothing.
- Harry (8/5): Very pleasant stay and we enjoyed ourselves. Would stay again. - Really enjoyed the owner greeting us and giving us a little tour. He had everything ready for us including breakfast supplies for the next morning. Right on a busy highway but ended up not being too noisy.
- Eswar (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious, clean and tidy. Easy access to the property and instructions were clear. Owner was easy to communicate with , Joe made himself available to show us the place and brought us fresh fruits to munch while enjoying the stay 😀 As other reviews indicated , there is some road noises, but it didn’t bother me much.
- Graham (8/5): Large comfortable B&B accommodation right on Highway16. - The B&B has a big bedroom with two queen beds, then living area and full kitchen at the back with bathroom. Good for the price.
Parking space at the back.
A big bowl of fresh fruit on the kitchen table. Outside of property is stark and unappealing. Its position between the major railway track and right on H16 was alarming at first, but traffic was light at night and freight trains not very frequent. We slept ok.
Apart from the fruit, the items left in the fridge for breakfast were rather basic.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Greg (7/5): Great host and comfortable room, though with some uncomfortable quirks. - Very spacious and comfortable. Very nice host. Walking distance to a couple food places. Located on main road with parking on street. Nearby railroad tracks not too bad. Noise from residence on second story very loud, with voices easily understood. While there’s a shower in the bathtub, it’s under the stairs and very hard to fit in (I’m 6’-0”).
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- In (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laass (10/5): Excellent - Very clean and comfortable Highway noise is a bit loud
- Michelle (9/5): Thank you really big and convenient - This is right downtown which I thought would be a problem. But it's cool to walk to all the businesses shopping. The train is behind so if not use to it, it may bother you at back with window open.
It's so huge, wonderful people.Location was perfect.very comfortable and clean. Definitely stay here!
- Laass (9/5): Superb - Facilities very clean, owners very helpful, lots of uncooked breakfast options, suite was very warm the first time I stayed so requested a cooler temperature the 2nd stay and it was perfect. Would recommend and now is my go to place to stay in Burns Lake. Both stays I had the wrong pin number to get in the suite door and had to call the owner, shower would not accommodate a tall person. It is under the stair way, the suite is a bit noisy with the highway in the front and the train in the back. But because the suite is so clean, it is well worth putting up with a few things.
- Ma (10/5): would love to come back! - the owners were extremely accommodating and they even baked us some nice muffins none
- Todd (9/5): Superb - The owner was very friendly, and the place was extremely clean. For a bed and breakfast, there was a good variety of food for the morning. The beds were very comfortable and has lots of seating. We liked the fact that the living room and bedroom area were separated so you could close the living room door to the kitchen and sit there and watch TV while others slept. There was no shortage of bathroom towels which was very nice. You probably wouldn't get that many bathroom towels in a motel. Everything is provided. Body wash shampoo soaps.
The place is very convenient because of its location, everything is pretty much within walking distance.
If we ever had to go to Burns lake again, I'd highly recommend this bed and breakfast.
:
- Kristy (8/5): Very good -
- Mike (10/5): Burns Lake B& B - Pleasant Experience - Burns Lake B&B
What a wonderful B&B located on the main street in Central Burns Lake.
The entire accommodations were exceptional and spotlessly clean. Well laid out with divider between the two double beds for privacy.
A kitchen, sitting room, writing desk, two bathrooms and refrigerator.
A fresh fruit dish on the table and the fridge and cupboard with an assortment of food for breakfast.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the pleasant owner, Joe, who welcomed us into the rental.
He gave us a strongly impression that his heart and soul was focused on providing his guest with the best he had to offer.
Without hesitation, we would certainly book this Burns Lake B&B if lodging in this location again! No complaints
- Alison (9/5): Great homely place to stay, with plenty of space and easy access. - Accommodation was very spacious and comfortable, and well equipped. There was everything here you could need to self cater if you wanted to. The bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve had this trip, nice fresh smelling bed linens. Bathroom was clean, and had good quality towels. Plenty of comfortable seating, both for relaxing and dining. On the ground floor, so no lugging bags up stairs. Self check in, but host came to see that we had everything we needed after our arrival, and give advice on where to eat etc. Whole place had a homely feel, which was much nicer than a bland hotel room. The property is right on the main road, but windows were well sound proofed plus traffic dies down in the evening, so did not keep us awake. The train tracks are at the back, but personally I love to hear the trains going by, and again not really bothered by the sound.
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yvette (10/5): Wonderful!! - What a wonderful place. Would definitely recommend. Beautiful little bed and breakfast! I liked everything
- Harold (10/5): I was pleasantly surprised as soon as I entered this house. - Complete ground floor of house. queen bed plus double bed. fridge and cupboard well stocked with breakfast food. The owner, Joe was very friendly. I liked everything
- Dianne (9/5): Superb -
- Nicole (8/5): Quick stop, clean and spacious - Easy access to the main road since you're on it. Very spacious and clean. Keurig with pods. Comfortable beds. Located between a train and the highway, bring earplugs. Shower was on a very steep angle so not very comfortable. Breakfast was some premade eggs, cheese strings, yogurt, white bread and cereal.
- Jatinder (10/5): Exceptional -
- Devin (10/5): Exceptional - Various options for self-serve breakfast. There was fruit, eggs, oatmeal, cereal, and probably other things that I can't think of right now. The shower is under the stairs and a little too short for me to stand up in.
Nearby train goes by regularly. Not so loud that it woke me up, but certainly noticeable when awake.
- Wendy (10/5): A comfortable stay at a good price with our own kitchen - Jo and Linda made this a home from home. They left lots of food so you could do your own breakfast which was perfect for us. A very comfortable stay Nothing
- Katherine (9/5): Superb - Big space and great to have a separate kitchen/lounge. Bed was comfy. The bathroom has been fitted in well but there is limited headroom in the shower - you won't fit if you're 6ft! Great fresh food and fruit provided in the fridge for a self serve breakfast. Nice town with good walks nearby. Bit cramped in the shower. No ability to turn the bathroom light off. Quite a noisy road outside but not busy overnight.
- Vivian (8/5): Very good -
- Adriaan (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was a very nice continental breakfast already stored in and around the fridge. The toilet seat was lose.
- Jennifer (10/5): Very happy I stayed here! - The B&B by itself is already great, but my stay was made even better by the kindness and consideration of the hosts. Joe gave up his evening to help me through an emergency on my first night in town, and he and Linda continued to make sure I was okay throughout my stay. They're lovely people, and happy to share local knowledge and history. They've thought of everything for the apartment, and really made it a special place to stay. (Particular standouts: I loved the breakfast options and wanted to pack up the bed and take it home with me; it was so comfortable.)
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (9/5): Great property and Burns Lake area is beautiful. - This is a well proportioned ground floor of a house on the main street. A traditional older house and convenient for local facilities. The host provided a great self serve breakfast. The host mentioned the proximity to the main road but its exceptionally quiet in the evening onwards. The train track is at the rear and the few trains do like to blow their horns! Nearby is the Office Pub and restaurant which had good food and very friendly locals. The park nearby was superb and a great splash area and people swimming in the lake. You can hire kayaks. The facilities in the house are excellent; parking very easy - outside the front door. The bathroom is tight and could do with a shelf. However, when you stay in a lovely heritage building you have to accept some constraints. Otherwise excellent
- Geoff (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kochenderfer (10/5): Your loss if you pass on this lovely dwelling. - I was overwhelmed by the beauty and the layout of the B&B, the abundance and quality of the amenities, and the generosity of the hosts. It was far more than I anticipated and I'm sincerely grateful for their hospitality. Highly recommended. Okay. The illuminated "Exit" sign in the sleeping area is a bit much, but it was easily rectified with a towel to drape over it. All good.
- Jory (8/5): Very good - This B&B was comfortable and roomy. Good choices for breakfast. We enjoyed our stay. Each aspect of the B&B was quirky, in our minds, but for the most part, it worked and it served us well. This B&B was difficult to find, partially because we didn't expect to find that it was an uninspiring store front on the main street. Checking in was confusing because the code given to us to enter our suite was incorrect. The coffee carafe was cracked on the bottom. The bathroom had zero counter space on which to put our toiletries. The shower was very tight with an extremely low and sloped shower 'ceiling'...I bumped my head 3 times trying to shower. There was no hair dryer. This older structure had sloped floors; that made it a bit unnerving. But, besides the washroom issues, we quite enjoyed our time there.
- Rissler (7/5): Good -
- Shannon (8/5): Very good - Very clean and accommodating, Joe was a very good host. The location on the main road in town, and adjacent to railroad tracks made it a bit noisy at night,
- Mark (9/5): I would recommend it to friends and family- and will make it my go to when in Burns Lake again. - Very nice The shower is small and awkard but I was able to make it work. For tall individuals over 6ft it might not be feasible.
- Robert (7/5): I was in a business trip, and that is perfect place for that. - Spacious room with good kitchen facility and supplies It is right on the road, close to traffic noise
- Charles (10/5): Better than expected accommodations -
- Winckler (8/5): Had a great stay - the place was amazing in size, comfort and amenities! Very wonderful host, easy parking and right on the main street so easy to find and get to. traffic was a little noisy at night, thought we were getting a hot breakfast but it was more of "continental" breakfast of bread, cereal, etc. available for us to make/eat - but having a full kitchen was awesome and for the price, minor inconvenience.
- Jemimah (9/5): Superb - Lots to choose from for the breakfast options, but also the option to grab and go as I had to leave quite early in the morning. Joe was very hospitable, I did not meet Linda, however I spoke to her on the phone. Joe had to let me in as the lock had an issue and he was so gracious and kind about the time as I had to go out for dinner. Very comfortable bed and everything was provided and clean! Its a very cute, old style cottage vibe.
- Bermejo (5/5): Passable - They provided some cheese, eggs, water, yogourt, some fruits. The utensils in the kitchen were clean. It was along the highway, it's kinda loud. But walking distance to the nice coffee shop. They have 2 beds that are new and sheets are new but there were cat and dog hair on the sheets. My allergies was triggered. The tub was too small, it was situated under the stairs so it was a half triangle :(
- Noelene (10/5): Great overnight stay. - Owner lovely meet us Close to town. Walk to lake Na
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and comfortable. Not much.
- Shawn (9/5): I would stay at this location again, no hesitation. - Very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Designated parking
- Peter (7/5): Lovely place for an overnight stop - easy to find. - We were greeted by the owners Joe & Linda who could not do enough to make us feel completely at home. The place was spotless & the help yourself breakfast an added bonus - we would stay there again. Thank you Nothing
- Kent (10/5): Well equipped and spacious suite was perfect for our visit to Burns Lake. - Breakfast was great -- we particularly loved the special rye bread with the boiled eggs. Joe and Linda were very gracious and accommodating hosts. Thanks for the flexibility on the checkout time to allow my wife to finish teaching her online students! 🙏🏽🌞
- Michael (8/5): Even with the shortcomings, we would stay again to support the wonderful hosts. - Very nice. Uber clean and spacious. Comfy beds. Host went above and beyond giving up his personal parking space so I could charge my boat battery! Nicely stocked continental breakfast supplies. A portable window air conditioning unit would have made it easier to sleep. Both for temperature control and to drown out the traffic/train noise. The location meant there was a lot of truck traffic noise and some train whistles but that is not the fault of the hosts. Just a caution for light sleepers. With aircon we would have slept through it all. Is there anyway the bright red EXIT sign can be dimmed? I suppose it's a fire safety regulation?
- Tyson (1/5): Not nice people - Suite was large and prepared when they arrived. Booked this room for two wildfire fighters who had been on the fire line for 2 weeks sleeping in tents and wanted a good sleep. Only room available in the area so I paid $190. They only got there at 8:30 pm after working a 12 hour day and having dinner at camp. They both picked up a 6 pack, showered, drank some beers while watching tv and were gone by 6am for another long day. Later that day I was asked for an additional $125 fee for not cleaning the suite. Only thing I could think was fire soot may have ruined towels but requested photos as proof as I have booked numerous rooms with card on file and have never had a complaint. They refused. Watch out for hidden fees, Email exchange attached.
- Isabel (8/5): Very good -
- Jafar (7/5): Good -
- Louise (8/5): Very good -
- Ron (8/5): Very good -
- Debra (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (6/5): Adequate, but noisy accommodations without safe parking. - Very spacious. Excellent breakfast provided. Courteous and professional host. The entire place is very clean. Parking doesn't feel secure at all. Room is right on a very busy road and the train tracks are out the back with trains running and blowing the whistle a lot of the night.
- Joyce (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (10/5): I love staying here and it will always be my first choice in Burns Lake. - it’s a beautiful suite with everything you need to be comfortable
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - Great space stayed twice in past few months, really well furnished and breakfast was superb
- Gwen (9/5): Superb - Food was great the way it's presented made like your home. The comfort of home
- Marsha (10/5): Top notch! We had a lovely stay! - The variety of items for breakfast (fresh fruit, a variety of yogurts, bread and butter for toast, boiled eggs and cheese, cereal with milk, orange juice, coffee and tea with creamer, etc.) was awesome! This was so convenient too! Joe and Linda were so gracious, very kind and super helpful making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay!
The rooms were spacious, bright and sunny, very well set up with comfy furniture and beds. Everything was so clean and tidy! We enjoyed good quality bath linens, a full bath and the very handy powder room, too! There were plenty of pots and pans, & cooking utensils, we were able to cook our meals on the full size stove.
The bed and breakfast is centrally located. We could walk everywhere. There are some great little coffee shops, and an excellent bicycle shop, blocks away. As well, it was easy to drive to get to special hiking spots. We really enjoyed our stay!
- Robert (9/5): Fantastic accommodation and superb Hosts. Highly recommend! - Everything was fantastic! Highly recommend, the nicest Hosts you'll ever come across!! Not a complaint to be had!
- Anonymous (9/5): Very clean cozy place to stay. Would definitely stay there again - Very, Very Clean. Neds were exceptionally comfortable. kitchen was well stocked but only but would have liked some tea other than passionflower. great selection of food for breakfast The slant of the roof of the shower was unusual. It worked for me at 5’7 but would be challenging for a tall person.
- Brian (8/5): thank you -
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natasha (7/5): Great place, good value, convenient location, lovely hosts. - Lovely hosts. Very generous breakfast allotment. Comfortable. Convenient location. Shower is a bit small, but otherwise no concerns at all.
- Philip (10/5): Incredibly spacious, comfortable full apartment in downtown Burns - Owner seemed to think of and provide everything to meet guests' needs. Full self-serve breakfast options.
- David (10/5): Good value accommodation! We recommend it. - The fridge and cupboards were nicely stocked for breakfast. Fresh fruit was a bonus! Full bathroom plus a powder room! Shower has a low ceiling and might be a problem for a tall person. We found it fine though.
