- Margaret (9/5): Wonderful stay in central location within walking distance of many historic sites - Great central location within walking distance of most historic sites
- GOETZ (7/5): -
- Peter (2/5): Don’t waste your time/money - The location was probably the best thing about this place. With regards to the apartment itself, it was spacious but that’s about it. Save yourself the stress and don’t bother booking here. Firstly, we asked for an earlier check in when we booked the property a month ago and didn’t hear anything back. We tried contacting the property agency a few times on the WhatsApp number provided and got nothing back until 2:30pm of the day of arrival when he said it wasn’t available for early check in (sure no worries, we didn’t mind, just would of appreciated some communication. When we got there at 3pm (time of check in) we were told the apartment hadn’t been cleaned and is not ready. The agent asked us to leave our bags in the apartment whilst it would take 1 hour to clean. Long story short, we were never advised the property was ready for us, and it wasn’t before 6:30pm we were able to access the apartment (whilst waiting for the cleaners to leave). Save your money and book either more central or within Trastevere. We messages the agent through our stay, and he didn’t even bother to respond nor acknowledge or request. We stayed 4 days and the only other communication was to make sure we leave at 10am.
- Heather (10/5): Absolutely beautiful apartment in the heart of Rome - Fantastic property. Large, clean with great facilities. Shared with another couple, rooms spacious and 2 bathrooms
Close to most attractions 15-35 mins away. Towels were small
- gregory (3/5): would not recommend this place - Location Management was not customer friendly.
It was hard to get in touch with the property manager. They did not respond to any of our messages. We did not know if someone will meet us to provide the access to the property until the last day. This was unnecessary headache during our vacation. There was an issue with the electricity, we could not run air-conditioner and other appliances at the same time. The towels were very old and worn. Did not have enough toilet paper. Mattress was very uncomfortable. This place is not worth the money that they charge. They would not provide me with the invoice even though requested on multiple occasions. Try to avoid this place if possible.

- Tsveta (10/5): We had a fantastic stay and would happily go back to the same place. - The property was amazing, very high ceilings, lovely airy rooms and equipped with everything that you might need. The owners have thought of everything. Everything was up to my standards. There is nothing that I didn’t like.
- Jay (10/5): Was the perfect spot for us in Rome, we loved it - Location, cleanliness, comfortable Nothing
- Yolande (4/5): Disappointing - Fantastic location for all excursions, shops and restaurants. The property had not been cleaned on arrival at 16:30, making it difficult to freshen up for a meal out.
The kitchen tap was faulty.
Poor communication from booking company.
I raised my concerns before I placed a review however the booking company did not respond.
Overall I would not recommend this property due to poor management communication and lack of correspondence following a complaint.
- Adriana (10/5): We had an amazing stay at Home The Riverand would definetly recommend this place to friends and family visiting Rome! - Home the River is a beautiful spacious apartment in Rome with a great location.
The apartment is in mint condition and would love to stay there again soon! Nothing - everything was perfect
- Michael (10/5): Highly recommend the property - Very comfortable and great location We tried to contact the agent on numerous occasions and as we did not get a satisfactory response we contacted the owner who was exceptionally helpful.
- Ronel (10/5): - It’s a comfortable and spacious apartment, beautifully decorated. It is central to many attractions and we could walk to most.
- Hicham (9/5): -
- Carlo (10/5): Beautiful apartment and lovely hosts - live like a local in your home away from home! - I cannot recommend this apartment more highly. It absolutely contributed to a memorable family holiday in Rome.
Not only was the apartment beautiful - high class furnishings and finishes that blended historic and modern - but the neighbourhood was excellent. Close to everything you need and easy to self-cater with an excellent supermarket very close by. A luxury home away from home which also provides excellent value for money.
Host was very flexible and accommodating to our needs and always willing to assist with local recommendations - even helping arrange our airport transfer!
If you are looking to stay in Trastevere and immerse yourself into the local community - but still be close enough to the centre - don't hesitate - book this apartment. Nothing
- Parker (10/5): Gorgeous apartment and amazing location! - We loved everything about our stay. The apartment is beautiful with high ceilings, beautiful art work and very spacious. Our family of 4 spent 5 nights here. Our children 12 and 17 shared one room and we had the other bedroom. There are two bathrooms. A large living room and a lovely kitchen with a dining room table. There are also large doors that close between the rooms, making it feel more like apartments (plural) and everyone could have their own quiet space after long, hot days visiting the sights. The AC was great! We were there during a heat wave so this was critical for us. Just don’t run all the AC and the washing machine at the same time or you might trip the breaker. But they were very responsive and we were able to reset the breaker within minutes. The location is amazing. Right across the street from the Tiber river, a short walk across the bridge to Trastevere and a short walk to many sights in Rome. The neighborhood is safe, there is a grocery store a block away and more restaurants and shopping than we could ever try. When we return we would love to stay here again. Nothing
- Thale (10/5): A perfect place to stay. - A perfect location for a family eager to explore Rome. Walking distance to all sigets and Trastevere at night. All facilities and magestic atomsphere. Exceeded our expectations.
- Shailesh (10/5): This ranks right up there among the best places we have stayed in. - Excellent location, spacious and meticulously maintained apartment. Quiet.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Fabulous Apartment: Exceeded Expectations - The apartment was exactly as described. It was clean & the kitchen was well equipped with everything we need. There was even expresso coffee with w stove top expresso pot, coupled with sugar. The refrigerator held all of the groceries we purchases. The apartment is close to many places to eat & walking distance to the Colosseums and other Rome hotspots. The owner happed to be arriving home when arrive & he was kind enough to assist us with the luggage. Finally, our flight was cancelled due to the strike & he was willing to allow us to stay an additional day. Turns out, we were able to take a train to Venice. I highly recommend this apartment. The owner is "top shelf".

- Kishore (10/5): Amazing - definitely one of the best places I have ever stayed in while travelling with family. - Communication through Booking.com was easy and quick - particularly as we approached our stay dates. The apartment is beautiful - very tastefully decorated and maintained. The place was very clean and neat. Great for families. Secure and close to attractions - walkable distance to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and short cab rides to many others. Overall, an an amazing and seamless experience. Will definitely book again if I was going to Rome. Nothing that I can think of. One addition that would make this place even better would be to add a clothes dryer, or a washer/dryer combo. It already has a washer, but there is no clothes dryer.
- Julie (9/5): Home by the River was in an excellent apartment for us. Great building and spacious well equipped apartment. - Location, helpful staff, clean, spacious apartment and gorgeous building. Nothing. My only suggestion would be more pillows and possibly blankets.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Moshe (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment is specsious, beautiful and well furnished. It has high selling and luxury equipment.
The location is superb. The communication with Flava was easy and helpful.
- Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): Excellent stay, would definitely stay here again and recommend. - Excellent location we could walk to most places. Very quiet even though it was on a main road. Lovely flat, beautiful and comfortable. Would have liked a better coffee machine! Better arrangement for getting in, maybe meeting at a cafe if the wait is longer than 10 minutes. That said we did ask and get an earlier check in.
- Annie (10/5): Fabulous place, brilliant location, everything you could wish for a very special stay. - Everything was fantastic, an Exceptional place to stay Nothing, I loved everything
- Bakshaev (9/5): Spacious, cozy with the luxury feeling of the past. - There are very high ceilings, it feels like 4 meters (13 feet). Chandeliers and antique ceiling decorations brings you back in time, and the comfortable room temperature and cosy interior makes it a pleasant luxury experience. In January we didn’t use conditioning, it was warm enough by default. Two bathrooms had a good water presser, the water was warm. Internet had a good signal in all the rooms.
The apartment is spacious, one bed is much bigger than another though. The kitchen is fully equipped, there are plenty restaurants in 4-5 minutes of walk.
We actually walked from colosseum by walk, it’s manageable. Taxi takes about 12 minutes to colosseum and later to Vatican. There are historical-archeological side in 4 minutes from the apartment, you can take pics with the architecture remaining. - We had to wait 30 minutes to get the keys, even though we told them in advance what time we were arriving, though it seems it was a force majeure, and the person meeting us apologised for that.
Some things for families with kids:
- You cannot lock the doors (no locking of the bathroom in the small bedroom), no locking of bedrooms; you cannot lock kids in the apartment either; they can open from inside.

| "it is advisable to keep us informed of your arrival at the airport so that we can calculate the arrival time at the property well. You informed us that you would arrive between 8pm and 9pm, so we could not be sure of your arrival time."
- When the hotel was booked, booking only allows you to choose an hour, but not a minute. therefore it was selected from 20 to 21. Booking sent you a request to confirm a time, but after 24h it wasn't confirmed yet. no reply on booking
- I've found your contact on booking, and I've sent a message on WhatsApp, where I was asking if it's ok if we arrive at 20:30—at the latest, 21:30? no one replied for hours (later explained that it's public holidays), then I was given a different number to contact, where I again asked for the same thing: if it's ok to arrive at 20:30, at the latest 21:30
- I was told to notify, when we leave an airport.
- As soon as we left the airport at 20:00, I notified your manager that we would arrive as planned at 20:30, with no delays.
So, I was told twice that I need to tell you the time when we leave the airport, and that's what I did. 30 minutes before arrival, I've notified you of the exact time of arrival: 20:30.
- Gary (9/5): Superb -
- Cathy (10/5): Luxurious with old world architecture. Just perfect! - The apartment was wonderful. Perfect for two couples. Clean. Beautifully decorated. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Lovely area right across from the river. Would highly recommend. Hope to revisit soon. Not one thing. I didn’t want to leave!
- Wen (10/5): Our stay in Rome was absolutely wonderful! - Our stay in Rome was absolutely wonderful! The accommodation was incredibly quiet, elegant, and spacious. The location couldn’t be better, situated right near the Pantheon, with everything we needed nearby—restaurants, supermarkets, and more. We truly loved this place and felt reluctant to leave. It exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rome!
- Michelle (8/5): once we got into place it was nice- very clean and beautiful - The location and property were great Communication with host and details about arrival were bad.
- Christopher (10/5): Perfection! Highly recommend! - It was such a beautiful apartment with very high ceilings looking over the river. Soooo convenient to literally everything in Rome! It was everything we wanted and more. Perfect for 4 weary travelers at the end of a long Italian vacation.
- Danih (10/5): Exceptional - The place was very comfortable, and the owner were very kind
- Sarah (10/5): Lovely Home by the River. Amazing place, perfect location. Love to came back. - We loved the apartment. Had beautiful high ceilings, and it was very spacious, well distributed, it was impeccable, and very peacefully decorated. The building had a lot of character, and the location could not have been better. We walked to the coliseum (25 min) and enjoyed the area very much.
The bathrooms were perfect, the hot water, the pressure of the water, truly no complains. The kitchen was also great. Would totally stay again in the apartment and no doubt I fully recommend it. The people were very attentive to our needs. We came for a very short time, so more towels, as is impossible to have time to wash them. At least 2 to 3 per person in the summer is very hot so they are well in need. Could have use some extra paper towel. Garbage bags and dishwasher soap they had super!!! In reality, we loved everything. Communication was also very easy, and the person that came was SUPER helpful definitely went our of his way to help us and accommodate our needs. Thank you again.
- Paul (10/5): Very enjoyable - nice balcony overlooking the river-host was very helpful and friendly. - Location was excellent and central. Liked the shutters, double glazing and blinds to cut light and noise. Loved the furnishings. Host was friendly and helpful. Needed more cupboards for hanging in the second room.
- Patricia (10/5): Elegant living in Rome for cost that won’t break your travel budget. - Super convenient to everything. I felt like I was staying in a grand hotel suite (something like a condo on Central Park West in NYC for those of you familiar). Elegant.
- Morozevych (10/5): Fantastic - Great location on Tiber and close to restaurants in Trastevere. Right on the major street. Could be too noisy for the light sleepers in the morning.
- Michael (10/5): Beautiful apartment in great location - The apartment is large, clean and comfortable.
Furniture is new and in good taste.
Kitchen is well equipped.
Location is great.
Host is kind and helpful.
Especially good if you want to stay close to the Synagogue. Nothing
- Zeynep (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hrnx (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, cozy interior design, and new brand apartment
- Vladimir (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and cozy apartment.
Kindly recommend.
- Alex (10/5): All fine - Wonderful Appartement. Very good Location. Italian bed linen sets (two sheets and the blanket between) are always a challenge for north europeans ;))) blanket sack is a very satisfying invention:)))
But it is just a question of habit.
Clear 10 of 10.
- Claire (10/5): Gorgeous luxury apartment near the Jewish quarter of Rome - Gorgeous luxury apartment by the river and a stone's throw from the Jewish quarter; big rooms, new bathrooms, comfortable beds, stylishly decorated living areas, big kitchen with small balcony looking over the Lungotevere; friendly hosts; good wifi; elevator if needed; very stylish way for my American parents to start their Italian vacation! Nothing!
