Guest Reviews
- forrest (7/5): The accommodation itself was lovely and very comfortable. - The bed was very comfortable and there was everything that was needed. Maybe add a mug or two? Beautiful views. Was good to have the fan as was really warm. Bathroom was nice and helpful to have toiletries. Was really good having the washing machine and dryer. Having told the host that I had mobility issues, I was disappointed to have had no notice of the awful, uneven steps at the back with no handrails. I notice someone talked about this previously and still no change. If I had arrived alone there is no way I’d have been able to get in there as it was hard enough walking up with my walking stick without trying to take a big case up. Not helped that it was dark when we arrived and no light. That would be easily remedied as there is a light which goes on as it gets dark-if the switch inside is left on. Perhaps it could be?
Only issue with cleanliness was when I went to clean the toilet-the toilet brush is awful and needs replaced as soon as possible. The glass ‘wall’ in the bathroom was a bit weird.
Whilst not the host’s fault, the roadworks are a big problem. I did ask as my friend in Victoria told me there was work done and got info from the host which was helpful, but it curtailed what I could do as I had to rely on lifts rather than take uber as road was marked closed.
- Dickson (9/5): It was an excellent stay. Very clean with very modern facilities. - We liked the area. Lovely surroundings.
- Annelize (10/5): Special - The Stonehenge cups had a very special personal meaning for us. It was challenging to find the house using Google Maps because of the road closures.
- Konstantin Hanebeck (10/5): - The accomodation was very cozy and private. It's placed in a really lovely neighborhood and had a great view.
Everything was really clean and we enjoyed our stay a lot. Would come back any time!
- ileana (8/5): quite enjoyble - The location was very good and the cleanliness was too The only downside was the noise from the next-door and upstairs people. The plumbing pipes were very noisy when the people next door or u upstairs had a shower,
- Michela (8/5): Servizi completi di tutto - Sicuramente ottimi i servizi inclusa lavatrice e lavasciuga . Non vicinissima al centro . Un po’ difficile arrivare a causa lavori
- YUKIE (8/5): I’m would love to go back there when I have a car and stay in Victoria. Quiet and safe neighborhood - The room was comfortable, and everything was clean. Staff response was amazing. Things I was annoyed were not really owner/hotel’s problem.
-The road access was really complicated with the construction. Sometimes you have to take extra 5-10 min of wait or go long way around.
-the tenant downstairs smoked right underneath of my window. As the accommodation doesn’t have air con, my window was open all the time and it got my room stink.
- the dishwashing liquid and toilet paper wasn’t “ready” for my 3 nights stay. However, they fixed it quick. So, thank you!
- Anonymous (4/5): Disappointing - notification of roadwork and road detours should have occurred.
- Wendy (6/5): Pleasant - Bed was comfortable Very odd and abnormal to have a plate glass window 6' x 3' in the bathroom overlooking the bed and sitting area??
We had plastic bags that we sealed with toothpaste to provide some privacy.
This could be an easy fix to add privacy!!
- Casey (2/5): Don’t waste your money on this one unless you’re a Billy Goat!!! - The bed and the shower was all we used. This “Gem” as mentioned in the reviews turned out to be a disaster for us!!! Finding this property was totally ridiculous!! They mentioned the road and entrance to the property was under construction however they failed to advise us how to get to the OPEN side to get to the property!!!
It took us 2 hours to find it and only because we were helped by a stranger walking his dog who had a flashlight!!! When it was finally found we were only able to bring up our backpacks because we had to walk up the 10+ slippery dangerous rock steps WITH ABSOLUTELY NO LIGHTING!!! What’s the matter with the owner! We are 76 and 73 years old!! We could have slipped and fallen on every step!!! No railings either! There was also no directions to us finding the door to get in!! Again no lighting!!!
We would NEVER recommend this room to anyone.
We had no choice but to stay there because we didn’t get into it till 10:30 pm and we had no where to go at that time. THERE WAS NO CONSIDERATION TO OUR SAFETY!! Sad, sad, situation!!
- Peta (10/5): A nice place to stay - We really enjoyed our stay in this very cute and well equipped suite. We loved the location which was perfect for our needs My husband didn't really the window that looked from the bed to the toilet and would have liked a blind or curtain for privacy.
- Jaime (10/5): Great location next to UVIC - The location was great, with Uvic right out the back gate. Getting around by bus is also easy, but note that it is a bit of a walk uphill from the bus, which is challenging with luggage.
The suite is great, and the washer and dryer are a real bonus. Very bright and clean.
- Nicole (9/5): Great stay. Comfy bed and super quiet environment. Easy to follow instructions to get inside. -
- Ruddell (6/5): Pleasant - Good location. Comfortable bed and good linen. Glass window between bathroom and living area. Limited kitchen equipment.
- Scott (8/5): Very good -
- Jean (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (9/5): Superb - Quiet coastal location. Glass wall in bathroom
- Robert (8/5): I enjoyed the views from the location and the quiet neighbourhood. A very nice and comfortable stay! - The facilities and appliances in the room very clean and modern though I would have appreciated a coffee maker I think the description that the property offers direct beachfront access is somewhat misleading as it is a 8 min walk down a public road with a crossing of a fairly busy community road before you get to the beach.
- Jim (7/5): Comfortable - Location was good. Stairs to the door. Bathroom with a window - no privacy.
- Laurie (8/5): A quiet and cosy suite in a great location - Very comfortable well-equipped suite with a nice view in a lovely quiet location. The little back garden was beautiful, complete with a bunny visitor. The location was perfect: a quick walk to either UVic or the beach. The main road leading to the property had been under construction and closed to traffic for the past month. After unsuccessfully trying to access the property from a few directions, I called the hosts, but their English was so limited they were unable to help at all. We did manage to find a way to get there, but was not impressed by this lack of communication.
The unsightly and malodorous overflowing bins in the parking area were very off-putting.
- Yeonsoo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tessa (2/5): Very poor - Good washer/ dryer and kitchen facilities generally No hot water after one shower, glass between bathroom and bedroom so no privacy
- Christina (9/5): Superb -
- Jenny (10/5): Amazing for a solo long weekend trip 😁 - Everything. Very clean, very cozy, convenient and beautiful location Not the property's fault, just unlucky that Sinclair road was undergoing heavy construction during my stay. Made getting into and out of the property a tad bit inconvenient (would've been worse if I came with a car)
- Victor (9/5): Superb -
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful views and clean.
- Patrick (9/5): Location was adjacent to University of Victoria, short walk to the beach and ,restaurant’s, grocery store and coffee sho - Location and safety. NA
- Yiting (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Great place to stay - Comfortable, attractive room, with great bathroom, comfy bed, convenient kitchen. Lighting in kitchen could be improved.
- Dorota (9/5): Superb -
- Kelly (8/5): The stay was fabulous! Very comfortable and quiet. - Very clean, very comfortable laundry facilities available and wifi Small, lacked kitchen facilities (stove)
- Niama (9/5): Superb - I had an amazing stay at UVic’s Ocean Peak House! The place was spotless, very clean, and incredibly comfortable. The hosts were exceptionally kind and welcoming. They even allowed me to check in much earlier than expected since I arrived ahead of schedule, which I truly appreciated. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a pleasant and stress-free stay!
- Ariel (10/5): Cozy Hidden Gem - What a hidden gem!! This place was so cute and comfy, it really felt like a vacation even though I live on the island. Excellent location, close to a beautiful beach. The owner pays close attention to cleaning well and the linens were crisp and soft. Highly recommend! Nothing
- Jimmy (9/5): Quite good. - Clean, quiet, and quite comfortable. There was a construction going out in the street, blocking the entrance to the place. The internet speed can be faster.
- Radke (10/5): Pleasant surprise!! - The layout made it easy for the two of us to move independently and comfortably, nicely suited for me to relax. fitted with new washer & dryer made it easy to get out of wet clothes after walking in the rain before long soothing hot shower in the fully equipped bathroom!Rain or shine this warm little community welcomes you with magnificent beaches, gardens and stunning views of the ocean along the accessible shoreline the Bay. also has a variety of well established local businesses that give you a genuine hometown feeling. And for those of us who have little shop browsingitis! You're sure to find a remedy that will suffice!
The staff were keen to Express their concern for every aspect of my stay from my safe arriva,l,,any possible requests during the stay to the accoadating, check out in accordance to the weather! Thanks This has been my favorite booking.
