- Debra (3/5): Big disappointment-NO city views from a basement - Not much I had advised Stay Hyde Park via Booking .com app that I didn’t have access to phoning, but could always be contacted via the App. However, they sent messages from asking me to phone them. It was a real issue to access the key but a kindly neighbour contacted them via her phone to find out where to locate the key. I spoke to Stay Hyde Park and said I wasn’t happy as the apartment was in a basement with NO city views, but they didn’t seem to care. I only booked the apartment because it stated it had city views.
The hall way had rubbish, a Hoover, bucket and mop in it and smelt as did the apartment.
The bed was a slat bed with a very thin mattress. There was only one pillow on the bed and a single size bed cover on a double bed. The Venetian blind in the bedroom didn’t work and wouldn’t close. Also there was only 1 towel supplied for a 4 night stay. This also was thin and stained. There was no tea towel or dish cloth in the kitchen.
On my last night the hot tap in the bathroom would not turn off. I scoured the apartment and adjacent hallway and also outside under the stairs looking for somehow to turn the water off. I rang my son via Messenger and he contacted Stay Hyde Park and advised them of the problem and asked for someone to come and fix it. He was advised that they couldn’t send anyone and that I needed to ring them, which I couldn’t do. My son rang them back to get further instructions, but no one answered the call. I hardly slept that night worrying about the situation and was so happy that was checking out that day.
I was very underwhelmed and extremely disappointed. I had paid a lot of money as I thought I was getting a lovely apartment with city views.
- Shona (6/5): Pleasant - Location was excellent. It was a basement flat. The air was stale. There were four of us. The living space wasn't big enough once the sofa bed was up. We stayed for 6 nights and there was no dustpan and broom to sweep the floor. Also no tea-towel.
The staff rushed us and we're upset when we arrived at 3:21 instead of 3:15. I thought timing was pretty good since we came by train and foot.
- Ivy (6/5): Pleasant - The location is great and having laundry facilities was a bonus Having someone meet you to collect the keys. Waited over half an hour for someone to show up. A lock box option would have been better.

- Paternain (7/5): Great location, not so great apartment. - The location, very close from the city centre, but calm area. It was an underground apartment, the window of the room was impossible to open. It did not feel like the apartment had real ventilation. Floor was very dirty.
They did not give me the address till last week and because I asked it 3 days before going. I found that very weird.

- Almari86 (8/5): Great Location - Loved the location, how close to Paddington station it is, how easy to walk to Oxford Road, and did every morning coffee in Hyde Park, which was amazing. It was really clean, and they did provide an ironing board, iron, and hairdryer. The internet did not work, and it is frustrating for out-of-town employees. That also means that the tv does not work. The hidden cleaning fee was also disappointing, and I think 100GBP is a little excessive.

It was nice to stay there. We didint like the cleanness of the dishes therefore we cleaned them again. But it was okay at the end maybe it’s because we checked in at 2pm instead of 3.

- Anonymous (1/5): Rubbish - It is not bad as a flat The fact the person who should meet us to give the keys was an hour and 40 minutes Late, rude, the fact that the place had people working, the fact that no heating nor hot water for almost 24 hours.

The person that we staid with send somebody, they fixed it and after that, 10 minutes later broke again. The floor was scratched and the walls definitely needs a paint.

I had to go to bed very late to rest and wake up early due to the strong audibility of the metro. The internet was very bad. As soon as the train passed, the Internet stopped working.

Plus the outside of the building is being renovated restricting access to the unit… we were not informed of any of this prior to booking and arriving.. the access to this building is not suitable for elderly people and should state that at time of booking!

- Sidharth (2/5): Feel cheated for the price we paid. - The location is very good. We had to wait 45 minutes for the caretaker to bring the keys of the apartment. The apartment is in a basement, which was not clear when we booked. The rooms were damp and had a stench. Access to the apartment is difficult, as the stairs are narrow. It is not practical to carry suitcases downstairs.
- Magdalena (8/5): Nice, private place in central London. I recommend stay there - Location, next to Hyde Park and very central. The street outside not very busy and property felt private and secure. The appartement had all essentials and everything we used was working as expected. The staff was responsive and helpful when we contacted them.
We are family of four and we had comfortable stay with sufficient space. The beds and sofa were comfortable enough.
Be mindful that when you pick your key pick up slot the staff might be not at exact time of guests arrival. We had to wait 30 minutes and it was not a problem as we were well informed by the member of staff of their arrival time. The window in the lounge room isn’t easy to open. Court yard a bit dirty but we didn’t use it. Taps in the kitchen and bathroom sinks a bit wobbly. Neither of the above was a big issue really.
- Parvez (10/5): Best place for a family stay in a well situated location of London - We had some difficulties at the airport with immigration and was thus quite late for the check-in. Our contact person, Kamil, was very comprehensive and helpful. When we reached the apartment, we were warmly received by Kamil who gave us a detailed overview of the apartment, its amenities and regarding the surrounding. His advices were very helpful and thanks to him we really enjoyed our stay. The apartment, though located in the basement, still have quite a lot of light coming in. It's very very secured and a very safe area, with plenty of food at a good price. The stairs leading to the basement is a bit steep and a number plate for the apartment as the delivery guys were always knocking at the wrong door.

Maybe next time we hope to get a 1st floor apartment with balcony. - The staff were very responsive on the phone, excellent on 24th morning, helping us keep our luggage in the apartment before we could go touring. The cleaner was friendly too, showing us about the keys etc.

- Emma (1/5): Do not book this property. - Cannot comment on this Unfortunately on arriving into Sussex Gardens, we were unable to actually find the property. The property details on booking.com did not have a house no. and no hotel I asked had ever heard of Stay Hyde Park. I also tried ringing the contact telephone number provided but no reply and although I left many messages asking about the location of this property no-one rang me back. Eventually we had to find alternative accommodation. Absolutely appalling experience, I cannot believe any business can operate with such dreadful service.

No EXPLANANATION, Advised to Contact Booking.Com for Relocation. We did this and did not hear from Customer Service for over 24 hours. Left to defend for oursleves with accomodation extremely hard to come across on a Saturday afternoon with 70,000 at BST Hyde Park.

- Jayne (4/5): Disappointing - not value for money - location is good - not as described on the Booking.com site - Location - very good for tube station, restaurants and shops Beds are dreadful - mattresses rock hard unforgiving thin foam - duvets - only single 3/4 bed size so two per double bed - which overlap each other to cover the bed - quilt covers open at the ends without fastenings and cheap quality hard material
No baking sheet or tray in the oven for cooking / heating croissants etc - just a deep roasting metal dish
Shower door was dangerous - as had to very carefully move it to open and close - due to grinding runners and the door not running correctly - if the door was closed too hard against the frameless glass side panel - it would shatter
Large window in the dining/ lounge area couldn’t be opened as painted shut
Curtains do not cover the windows - so unable to have any privacy in one of the two bedrooms
There is a “quiet time” mentioned in the details - I would like to know when this was supposed to be - our first night had banging and somebody walking across the upstairs floor repeatedly - along with very noisy banging doors - which appear to be throughout the building - our last morning - 6.30 am loud banging shouting above again - and the banging of doors - repeatedly
But the one thing which is totally out of order - I received a text from the person who met us with the keys - to tell us that they were going to have a viewing of the apartment - but told us not to worry - the person has a key and can let herself in - it will be about 10 minutes and we needn’t wait!!!!!!!
I cannot believe that we were told that a stranger was going into the apartment we paid a lot of money for - booked weeks ago - when we had our personal items in there - nothing was mentioned - when we booked - about the apartment being for sale - and that access was required during our stay - we certainly would not have booked the place if we had known - totally out of order
The previous people’s bedding and towel dirty washing had to be collected whilst we’re staying in the apartment as it had not been collected before our arrival

I called in 2 hours before for checking as requested by the property and yet I was asked to manage according to their timelines. We settled on 3 pm check-in and being a tourist (figuring out my travel) I was going to be late by 10min. The check-in guy was constantly messaging me that If I don't come by 3 pm he will leave and we have to wait for 2 hours outside the apartment. Who talks like that? especially when we have overpaid for this property. The check-out process was equally horrible. I am just lucky to have my deposit refunded back to me.

- Kylie (1/5): A truly awful experience and I would most certainly not recommend this property. 0 out of 10. - The only positive part of the experience was the close proximity to Paddington Station - otherwise, it was a very poor decision to stay there and I would never do so again. - We had to wait in the cold until a representative met us to provide us with keys. I am not sure why they couldn't use a key lock like other properties we have stayed at? Seemed ridiculous to need a "tour".
- I had to sign a "contract" after the tour, even though I had already paid.
- There was absolutely zero hot water for more than 24 hours. This is a real problem when you have been travelling and need to have a shower for a 3 am work meeting on zoom.
- The shower head was broken
- The tap unit in the kitchen was broken
- There were a lot of suspicious "white stains" all over the navy blanket for the sofa bed. I hate to think what they were. It looked like it desperately needed a wash.
- The tablecloth on the dining room table was soiled and also desperately needed a wash. When I complained that it was dirty, the representative quickly removed it and the table underneath was covered in red wine stains.
- It was a basement flat with very little natural light, which was not explained in the description
- Despite assurances that a partial refund would be considered, I have never heard back from them since we left. I have followed up many times and they now simply ignore my messages.

- Yusuf (8/5): Very good - Clean comfortable and very good location. It was impossible to locate the property from the address and post code provided by Booking.com so we had to spend the first night at another hotel. The staff had to send us the correct address and were unapologetic about the the inconvenience they caused us.
