• Aleta (9/5): Excellent location; excellent value - The staff of Mashy’s are great! So very helpful! The hotel is conveniently located across from the bus terminal. The room has a small balcony so it’s fun to watch all the activity. Everything is nearby - food, pharmacy, shopping. The room is so very clean. I loved all the tile work - beautiful! There’s good wifi & hot water. Breakfast was excellent & big - coffee, tea, bread, cheese, eggs, fresh fruit & fruit juice. The hotel offers a shuttle to the airport. Very reliable & good value. There is a roof terrace - very nice with seating, plants & great views of the city & surrounding hills.
• Aleta (10/5): The best - very clean, good wifi & breakfast - Mashy’s is not only immaculately clean, but the building is charming. The tile work is beautiful. There’s a small balcony & a roof garden with great views. Hot water is great. Wifi is great. David, the Manager, was incredibly helpful, meeting us at the Quito airport. They stored our luggage. Oh - incredible breakfast. Coffee, tea, juice from local fruit, eggs, local bread, fresh fruit, local cheese. It’s right across from the bus station (but not super noisy). Five minutes walk from plaza de ponchos. Banks, panaerias, everything all nearby. Nothing
• David (10/5): Yamor mágico 2025 - El desayuno en Mashy´s Hostal estuvo de maravilla. saludable, el personal también de gran calidad, me encantó las pinturas de mi querido Otavalo, los artistas plásticos que pintan los cuadritos tanto de la habitación como del pasillo y la pintura de la cascada de Peguche tienen mucho talento, me quedo maravillado por las obras artísticas que se plasman son bellas de mi querido Otavalo. La atención magnífica, todo muy bien, pero respecto al precio me pareció muy costoso para solo hospedarme una noche que fue $19,55 cuando debió ser mas económico, de ahí todo muy bien, me voy encantado por la atención. Muchas gracias Mashy´s Hostal.

• Mihai (7/5): Good - Very good location, very kind and communicative staff, good breakfast, 24/7 reception and clean rooms/floors and hotel. Good value for money. Safe area and very close to everything including Plaza de ponchos, many restaurants and exactly by the bus terminal. You can see the life of the city from the balcony because on that street there's everything from vendors to stores to dogs to locals arguing kids going to and from school....it's very lively and loud and authentic. The loud part is not for everyone though. At breakfast the staff was able to accommodate our small requests or modifies. Very kind :) The bed and room were smaller than the picture, the pictures are made with wide lenses. We had to fix the window - was not closing or sealing, showerhead was leaking and broken, but we managed to fix it and make it work. The bathroom smells quite a bit, there's mechanical ventilation but very slow. No fan or windows in the bathroom - not a problem for us. It is a very busy area and because the windows and balcony doors are not sealing, with decent gaps, the noise is very loud in the morning. You wake up with the locals and cars and busses around 5am. With all those in mind, it is a good value for money. Hard to beat price/location/ammaneties and free breakfast.

• Victor (10/5): For me it was the best hostel I've been in Ecuador - It's great hostel with very nice and helpful staff. The rooms are spacious. There was hot water with no problem of switching between hot and cold water (unlike in many other places in Ecuador). The brealfast was great, varoius and tasty The location is great - a minute of walk from Terminal Terrestre, 10 minutes of walk from Plaza de Ponchos, 15 minutes from Aki supermarket. There are also good restaurants in the area, but not all of them are updated on Google Maps. There is no problem to leave your luggage before official check-in and after official check-out. It has great value for money. Just for your information and consideration - for travellers, that want to leave early, the breakfast can be too late. It starts between 8:00 to 8:30.
• Maciej (5/5): Close to the bus terminal - Friendly staff, we could store our luggage for a few hours, very close to the bus terminal. The street noise starts at 5 am and you can hear everything in the room. There is a long wait for breakfast in the dining room.

• Diana (6/5): The pictures of booking are not 100% real - The location was convenient, close to La plaza de Ponchos, and close right across the street from the bus terminal. I didn't like the room. It was too small for a twin. It was too dark and noisy. The bathroom had a lick.

It is great that it is located so close to the bus terminal, but that does mean there is a lot of noise audible from outside, which can wake you up early and stop you from sleeping.
