• Margaux (1/5): Nous ne recommandons pas du tout.. - - La localisation : 8 minutes de marche de Clapham jonction - La propriétaire nous a indiqué par message que 2 tasses étaient à notre disposition pour du café dans la cuisine. - Terrasse appréciable ( s’il y avait une ampoule qui fonctionne ). La propreté est vraiment très décevante : poussière, nettoyage de surface, bas de portes encrassés, linge de lit taché, couettes et oreillers jaunis… Nous nous sommes posés la question si le ménage était fait entre chaque client, tellement c’était sale.. La salle de bain était vraiment sale (photos à l’appui) et peu fonctionnelle, sans aucun espace ou étagère pour poser nos affaires. L’équipement est réduit au strict minimum. Heureusement qu’il y avait un matelas chauffant, car il n’y a pas de véritable chauffage. L’humidité est très présente dans la chambre : les serviettes ne sèchent pas, et il manque clairement de rangements. Tous les placards étaient déjà pleins. Le titre de l’annonce indique “chambre et salle de bain privative”, mais en réalité il s’agit d’une chambre et d’une salle de bain situées au premier niveau, tandis que l’hôte semble résider à l’étage supérieur. Nous ignorions s’il y avait d’autres occupants, n’ayant jamais rencontré la propriétaire, bien qu’on entende la télévision ou du bruit dans la cuisine. C’est très étrange d’apprendre qu’elle vit ici sans qu’elle ne se soit jamais présentée. Autre problème majeur : aucune clé sur la porte de la chambre donc aucune sécurité ni intimité. En tant que deux femmes voyageant seules, nous n’étions pas rassurées. Il y avait en revanche une clé sur la porte donnant accès au balcon depuis notre chambre, ce qui nous a laissées penser que l’hôte pouvait y passer en notre absence — une situation très inconfortable. Enfin, les espaces communs (cuisine, murs, portes, sols) étaient tout aussi sales et mal entretenus que notre espace privé. Bilan : pour un tarif de 125 € la nuit, nous aurions simplement espéré trouver un logement propre, du linge de lit impeccable et une fermeture sécurisée sur chaque porte. Le logement est bien situé, mais la propreté, la sécurité et la gestion sont à revoir entièrement.

• Sara (1/5): Sporca. No privacy - Niente. Fanno sembrare che la camera sia privata e con un bagno privato al suo interno ma in realtà è un appartamento in soluzione coabitativa con la proprietaria. Non c'è possibilità di chiudersi a chiave. La struttura era sporca e per nulla igienica ai sensi della legge. Il bagno sporco, con prodotti usati a metà. Non sono voluto rimanere e non ho quindi passato la notte in questa struttura e nonostante non abbia toccato nulla la proprietaria si è rifiutata di rimborsarmi

The bed and pillow were comfy. Close to main street for all your needs. The outside area is great. Communal space is good too. Bedroom was fairly small and squashy with 2 big bags.

I come back from a day out and someone had entered the room and moved our washing around that was drying on the private terrace. I thought it was invasive to know someone had been in the room. It’s advertised as private terrace so can’t understand why our laundry needed to be moved.

• Debbie (6/5): “Home stay” accommodation - great if you are used to house shares only - Parmita provided all details needed for access and communication was excellent. Location for Wimbledon was perfect being on the bus route. No lock on bedroom door and sadly little privacy due to location of bedroom and bathroom facing onto main stairwell and lounge. It is important to note this is a “home stay” and having tried it, it’s not something we would do again.

We entered room to a very musky old smell,there was no room for 2 suitcases,the place was in dire need of a good cleaning and painting. Owner was super lovely and attentive via messaging. Bathroom isnt attached directly to the room which I personally didn’t like but was round corner.

• Nóra (3/5): Poor - The location of the accommodation is good, easy access to the city center and tourist attractions by train. It is in a noisy area, but the bedroom window overlooks the courtyard. Shared apartment, which is only referred to by 1 word in the description. I recommend writing it in the title of the ad! The room cannot be locked, there is no key! The carpet in the room is dirty and stained. There is not a single shelf in the room, we had to keep our clothes on the floor. The kitchen and dining room are noisy and cold; the landlord does not allow the use of the stove, and we were only given half of 1 shelf in the refrigerator. This is very little space for 4 days, especially for person with food allergies - eating would require special attention.

• Weetman (8/5): Aside from my concerns listed above, my stay was comfortable. - Everything that I needed was provided and the host, Parmita, added some extra comforting touches such as slippers and clean towels. The bed was comfortable and warm and though I didn’t need it, extra heating and an electric blanket was available to use. The front door required some force to open and close. There was also a flight of internal stairs that I also wasn’t aware of. I don’t recall seeing this advertised. The sticky door and flight of stairs may not be a concern under usual circumstances however after a 17 hour international flight and with a 30kg suitcase, it was a challenge to safely carry my suitcase up and down the stairs.

• Matt (8/5): Positve Stay with a great host! - Ideal location for The Grand, easy walk back and forth. Great communication from the host before we arrived and again after too, I also left an item of clothing which they let me know about and sorted getting it back to me. The room was very hot, although the room had fans provided it was still very warm. Also, if being picky the pillows were not the most comfortable and a second option would have been good. But overall the stay was good value for money.

This is a room in a shared accommodation though we are allowed to use the host's kitchen and living room. Bathroom is outside of our room and we couldn't lock the toilet. There is no lock to the bedroom. The only entrance to the terrace is our room so the host has to go through our room to access the terrace to hang their laundry.

• Gary (6/5): Quiet and comfortable townhouse, near clapham junction train station. - The property is located 10 minutes walk from Clapham junction train station. You can take the train to Waterloo station, for the subway, but I found it easier to use the buses. I do not recommend the oyster travel card, I just used my credit card on the bus to pay the fare. There are many restaurants, pubs, and supermarkets near the train station. The bed was comfortable, With a comforter. The host also provided a light blanket, The bathroom is in the hallway, just outside your bedroom and was clean and had a shower and tub. The outside terrace was a nice feature, and I did use it! The host lives on the upper floor, and I only saw her when I first arrived and the day I departed, of my three day stay, so you have a lot of privacy, and the house was very quiet. There are 12 steps to get to the main living floor, where the bedroom and bathroom are located and there are an additional three steps to go to the living room and kitchen. The Listing does not mention stairs? The bedroom door does not have an inside lock, there was also a clear cat door at the bottom of the bedroom door. But there are no pets in the house. The bathroom is in the hallway, just outside the bedroom and has a slide lock inside, but the door originally had a cylinder lock, which is now gone, but there is a small hole and you can see into the bathroom. For safety, I would also recommend the host install a grab bar on the back wall (Near door) of the shower/tub to safely get in and out. A rubber bathmat for the bottom of the tub would be a good idea as well. The cost to fix these things is minimal, and will improve a guests stay!

• Joe (10/5): Lovely room, great host, and the roof-top terrace is a hidden gem - stands out well in the crowd - The overall experience was splendid. The host is excellent: friendly, helpful, engaged, and able to solve any problem. The room was clean and crisp. A roof terrace adjoins the room, and gives the space a hidden treasure. Very comfortable. The location is 5-7 minutes walk from Clapham Junction rail station, and several major bus routes within one street block. Local shops are good for all basics. Easy reach on foot to good restaurants and arts venues: the variety will surprise those new to this area. Host gave us unfettered access to kitchen, lounge, and terrace - like visiting a friend. Proximity to major rail station allows for speedy connection throughout SE England and London. I will recommend this to friends as a delightful alternative. Before arriving, I worried about noise given the location. Street noise was not a factor, as the room is on far side of building. Impressively quiet, even with windows open. The location is on the Heathrow flight path, so early morning arriving flights are noticeable. This is true for the entirety of London south of the Thames, so it is the normal.

• Sophie (8/5): Comfy room to stay in - Loved how easy it was to check in and out, the communication with the host was amazing :-). Very comfy room, and close to Gatwick airport which was pretty convinient. The location is okay, easy to get into the city within an hour or so, and felt safe walking home even at late hours :-).

• Stan (8/5): Great stay. Lovely place. Great location. - The stay perfectly met our needs and the only reason not to give an absolute maximum was that the bedroom was slightly cramped. BUT the private roof terrace was fantastic. The bathroom and complimentary toiletries were excellent. The living room is beautiful and like the kitchen very well equipped. Our host was extremely welcoming and friendly whilst respecting our space and privacy. The location is nice and quiet but very close to transport and local shops. For those that don't know the area there is a great choice of bars, cafes and restaurants and is close to local parks and green space. We would definitely stay again. With the minor caveat about space there was nothing we didn't like and that was easily outweighed by all the pluses the accommodation offers.

The bedroom was small with little room in wardrobe and nowhere to put suitcases and no drawers. The bathroom was not as described wasn’t luxury and toiletries not indulgent. Bathroom wasn’t that clean and needed some attention. Bag of rubbish near front door was there all the time during our stay. Hadn’t known what a homestay was but the hosts lived in the property as well which wasn’t that private. We thought this was expensive for a shared facility with little to offer.

What I experienced in this apartment was unacceftable and when booking I recieved instructions regarding entering the appartment however, the instructions I recieved were incorrect and I phoned the host owner numerous, 3 times who didnt respond until 22,00, which was too late as I was already in a new hotel room. This meant that I couldn't stay there and I had to book another appartment. I have asked for a refund yet they are refusing to give my money back which is a disgrace
