Guest Reviews
- Kai (1/5): - No power to unit. Rest of complex had power
Despite promises of it being put back on, it was not. We were then told power not returning, had the keys taken by management and sent on our way. Luckily we're able to secure somewhere else on short notice. Although refunded in full, very disappointing experience.
- Crystal (10/5): -
- Zion (10/5): Thank you always happy to support - Everything
- Jody (10/5): Location great, when returning from a night out one of the other guest that way staying there couldn’t get in so her part - Location Having to go to a completely different spot to the apartment to pick up the keys
Specially with no many one way streets
- Narelle (8/5): -
- Maria (10/5): all good - clean and warm apartment all good
- Lara (9/5): -
- Vanessa (6/5): -
- Maree (7/5): The stay was good but I would preferred better personal communication for key pick up.i did call & did not get a ret - Location No extra blankets.
Light not working near car space.
Broken handle balcony door.
Broken wall fixture 2nd bedroom.
- Yacoub (3/5): - No enough kitchen stuff or blankets
- Scott (10/5): -
- Jemma (10/5): - Perfect location for me to get my dental procedure done nearby. Nice and quiet to rest afterwards.
- Niamh (10/5): Very good - Modern apartments in great location
- Memory (6/5): Pleasant -
- Adi (2/5): Very poor - LOCATION GERMAN COCKROACHES EVERYWHERE
- Regina (8/5): Very good - Location
- Gary (7/5): Generally, all was fine. - It was quite spacious. Had everything we needed. Outside the lift in the hallway, it was very stuffy and smelt a bit. There were lots of baby cockroaches in the kitchen.
- Natalie (2/5): Unkept, neglected apartment. Dissapointing stay - Good location. Beautiful views over the city Unkept apartment, carpet disgusting and dirty/stained, no hot water, no dishes to cook with, hardly any water pressure in kitchen/shower. Shower kept flooding even with hardly any water pressure water wasn’t draining, back door didn’t lock.
- Joelle (5/5): Passable - Location Checking in was a mission on its own. Shower floods out onto bathroom floor and shower head slips down, pillows are way too thin, blinds in bedroom is horrible with light beaming through in the morning, second bedroom does not have an aircon, kitchen has old melted cooking utensils, pots and pans weren’t the best (I would suggest offering all stainless steel), no glasses or cups to drink out of (only wine glasses). The apartment itself is pretty old and outdated, maybe some new pieces of furniture and a paint would be nice.
- Josue (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alisha (5/5): Passable - The beds very comfy..Location great No facilities, and getting the key was ridiculous definitely wouldn't stay here again because of the key pick up at a separate location. .
- Anne (1/5): Glad it is over. - The bed Cockroaches, lack of hot water, lack of communication, no people , no-one wants to talk to you, no soul to the place. On the phone you talk to a message so quick you cannot pick up email address easily or phone number, nothing repeated so you can catch the gist of the message. The idea of paying nearly a thousand dollars for the accommodation well before and on the day before Serain demanding $300 security before the lockbox number and secret venue miles away from accommodation. We took about 3 hours waiting in a pub opposite a convenience store to work out how we could get the code needed for the lock box. The address for the convenience store was 226 Brunswick St. After climbing 20 steps we were told by the people there that this happens all the time, people with a cab waiting for them trying to find the proper shop when that address is shared with at least five shops. I was lucky to have 2 showers in the 5 days I was there. I killed at least 12 cockroaches. My overall impression was “Get their money and forget about them”. This is not the Australian way!
- Tahleah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Heidi (10/5): Would definitely stay again - Lots of mirrors, spacious layout
- Tania (4/5): Disappointing - Location The apartment was definitely not clean
- Tj (6/5): Pleasant - Location is amazing
Love how it has a kitchen
2 bathrooms super handy Only get one key for the apartment. Did ask for a second key asked for a $200 security deposit.
Had a surprise payment of $300 for a security deposit before being able to pick up the key from the lockbox
Baby cockroaches all through the ensuite and main bedroom
Shower head in ensuite broken
The photos needs to be updated balcony has changed.
The 2nd bedroom only has a fan no aircon.
Old tv very small no Netflix or anything just normal TV
- Caitlyn (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Sandra (4/5): Disappointing - I didn't like no fridge for 2 days and I didn't get my deposit back we left the apartment clean
- Shane (9/5): Perfect for our trip! - Large spacious apartment, great location! It’s clean but the furniture is not brand new as the photos suggest!
- Josh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kim (9/5): Very central, great apartment - Great location, big apartment, car park
- Kim (8/5): Very good -
- Damon (5/5): Noisy party in the common area on level 8 on Friday night, key collection terrible - average stay. - Location suited our function. Key collection was a complete nuisance. 400 metres from the property, online registration, key collection on a Friday afternoon a complete nightmare. Drop off on Sunday, I had to double park to drop the key off, I didn't have the original code so had to call the office.. painful.
- Kory (9/5): Superb - Great area close to everything I needed
- Chelsea (10/5): Great location & neat apartment - Apartment & location was fabulous for my needs. Would definately recommend & stay again Would be easier if there was a lock box at apartment complex rather than collection & drop off at a separate location. That was an inconvenience.
- Gaelyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caitlin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (8/5): Very good -
- Leah (7/5): Good - Location was spot on, self contained apartments No balcony seating, room smelled, leave the toilet seats down or it stinks like sewerage
- Jourdana (7/5): Great location, friendly staff, and spacious apartment - Location and the size of the apartment was great A little bit dirty cleaners had not been.
- Raelene (6/5): Too short - The location and view from balcony Having to go on an Amazing Race like expedition at midnight to get keys to enter the property. Couldn’t access the lift that night so had to walk up eight levels of stairs with baggage.
Property manager however was extremely helpful next day and got lift access sorted for me.
- Nelson (4/5): Disappointing - Location was good Our accommodation was 4 nights and unfortunately we don't think this place is worth what we paid for it. The fridge doesn't work and had mould at the bottom of it, therefore we couldn't even have milk in the fridge to have at cereals in the morning, washing machine leaks water when using it, cigarette's smell throughout the apartment when you walk in, wall split systems were mouldy and smelly when using them, slidingdoor to balcony has the lock missing and carpets have stains everywhere. Unfortunately, I didn't read the most recent reviews when booking it, which is something I always do, but for some reason, I didn't this time. After arriving to the accommodation and spending the first day at the property, I went through the most recent reviews, and all the previous issues had already been mentioned. Be aware and do you research thoroughly.
- Laura (3/5): Never stay in this filthy place. - Close to the music hall for the concert we attended The place stunk of cigarette smoke and no matter what we did, we could not get rid of it. The toilets were dirty. The carpets were stained. The walls needed to be painted. A wardrobe mirror was broken. The ensuite door was kicked in and patched over. The fridge didn’t work properly to keep food cold. It was an overall horrific stay for over $340 per night. A total joke. The lobby also stunk of dog. Even the aircon remote had more germs than a Petri dish.
- Douglas (7/5): Good -
- Tarhnee (8/5): Very good - The location was perfect. Close walk to everything in the valley. Great restaurants and cafes. So much to do in this area. The instructions for check in could have been a bit more detailed. Example, the garage door buzzer also acts as the elevator keys fob but that wasn’t explained until I called unable to get to the floor I needed to be on. But the problem was rectified quickly!
- Ali (8/5): Very good -
- Breiahn (9/5): Superb - It’s the city most roads are one way, but it’s not difficult at all, it is within walking distance aswell but honestly was easy as to collect keys. I feel like all it needs it’s just a lil balcony/sunroom table and chair set, the sun that comes in there of an afternoon is beautiful.
- Laura (7/5): Good -
- Mr (8/5): Will stay here again - The rooms were decent and spacious. The location was excellent, very close to everything we wanted cafes, restaurants and the valley music hall. Someone in the rooms above us were banging something around loudly every morning between 5:30am and 6:30am.
- Bronson (1/5): Bad - (note: LITERALLY HUMAN FECES ON THE FLOOR!!)
THIS was genuinely the worst experience I have had staying at a hotel.
Throughout our stay, we couldn't use our ensuite bedroom, bathroom, or walk-in wardrobe due to a massive pipe burst that flooded our entire room. The putrid odour of urine filled our hotel making it almost uninhabitable. Despite our pleas, the staff showed zero empathy and refused to relocate us to another room.
On top of that, half of our appliances were barely functional, the balcony had no seating, and we weren't provided with extra bedsheets. The customer service over the phone was abysmal, and we had to repeatedly engage with multiple staff members in person throughout our stay to no avail.
Adding to the ordeal, I had to navigate literal toilet and wastewater due to the leaky pipe. Despite my efforts to communicate with the management, they were unprofessional and unhelpful. One example of this is when I spoke to a lady over the phone and she "asked me" what an appropriate refund would be. I said 50% given we were basically unable to use the hotel at all given its state. She then proceeded to laugh in my face and tell me "no way that is going to happen" then gave no alternatives. It was actually insane how terrible the management in this hotel was.
This entire situation could have genuinely been been avoided if the management had simply offered us a different room. Instead, I paid $600+ for a room with a carpet soaked in urine and feces, alongside enduring a prolonged and dreadful customer service experience. After constant begging, all they offer is a 30% refund for my stay. ITS INSANE!
Please if you've read this far I'm telling you right now, there are plenty of other hotels in brisbane to stay at. DO NOT STAY HERE IT IS GENUINELY NOT WORTH THE RISK.
- Matt (8/5): Very good - Great location and apartment was clean and basic amenities were present. Could do with more cutlery/ glassware etc
- Kevin (9/5): Nunya - Thankyou very much for your hospitality, we were extremely happy with our apartment and the support from booking.com and you guys here at Serain Residences. We will highly recommend your establishment in the future.
Thanks again guys The exit driveway because I clipped the block of concrete footings and ripped the front bumper
- Mccusker (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Scott (7/5): Good -
- Lauren (4/5): Not the nicest place to stay and had an odd smell would not recommend. - The property was in a good location. The room had an awful smell to it and didn’t seem clean.
- Owen (7/5): Good -
- Kirra-lee (6/5): Pleasant -
- Victoria (6/5): good location, key pick up and drop off an absolute pain. could you not locate the lock box closer - Location good. Beds great and showers great having to drive all around one way streets to get keys and to drop off - should be closer - walking distance for people with mobility disability, or easier to locate and park.
need chairs and small table on balcony. no facilities at all on balcony.
- Iacono (7/5): Convenient - Location Smell of cigarettes in room
And on bed
- Bell (6/5): Everything was comfortable but the keys weren’t. - Like that it was good spot where everything was, shops, clubs, restaurants etc Didn’t like how far and random the key spot was, in a confidence store?? What made things easier if the key lock was closer. And would have been great to have a second pair of keys
- Tracey (10/5): We couldn’t believe how lucky we were to get such a great place so close to where we needed it. - Walking distance to the fortitude music hall
- Morton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ellerie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jordan (8/5): Very good -
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Campbell (8/5): Very good -
- Dewar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beckett (9/5): Nice apartment, handy location. - Clean and nice space.
The location was good for us. The wifi password wasn't clear and there were a few of them to choose from.
The key collection and drop off is 5 min walk (10mins with suitcases)
It would be worth regular checks on air con battery, as I had to buy a new pair to get it working.
The 1st photo of the apartment is of a similar apartment, but not the one we stayed in.
- Hayley (9/5): Superb -
- Roger (8/5): Very good -
- Nikki (6/5): Nice apartment located amidst the clubs and establishments the valley has to offer. - The apartment is conveniently located amidst the lively valley neighbourhood; close to clubs and establishments but peaceful within the building itself. The apartment was suitably furnished and secure. Whilst suitably furnished, the beds and pillows could have been of a better quality. Pillows were flat and offered no support. The bed in the master bedroom was two single beds pushed together which made it difficult to sleep with a hard ridge through the middle of the bed. Additional comfortable seating should be made available in the living area and on the balcony.
- Anonymous (7/5): Great location key pick up not the best - Great location comfortable stay The key pick up was a nightmare
- Charlene (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (8/5): Very good - The location was excellent, and car park a fabulous bonus. Wasn't very clean and very basic kitchen pieces. No tumblers, drink glasses. Only mugs and 2 wine glasses, no cork screw or tongs.
The front door was dirty, as was all the mirrors and glass, stains on carpet, stain on blind In lounge area, patio no furniture and dirty. Complimentary products 1/2 used, toilet not clean.
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional - convenience
- Caitlin (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Very good - It was well located and very spacious. Everything was easy to find and use. as i was there for work it was good to find a desk and plenty of powerpoints to charge devices. The balcony was bare of furniture and dim... it would be good to make that a more usable space. The chair at the desk was not comfortable to work at and on this short business trip i had a lot to do in the evenings.
- Anis (10/5): Exceptional - pick and drop of keys specially there was no parking around that shop
- Sue (7/5): ok - the location is great the set up for the keys
- Cadell (10/5): Exceptional - Good location nice comfy apartment.
- Denise (7/5): Clean, tidy with all essentials needed -
- Gaurav (1/5): Bad -
- Matt (9/5): Tidy, large and clean unit is a great location. - Great location. Large unit, very clean and well prepared. Had a little trouble sorting the key out. instructions could have been clearer. It was only because I have stayed in similar before and knew the place the keys were located that I was able to figure it out.
