Guest Reviews
- Karol (10/5): The best accommodation for a short stay in London - a quiet location yet close to everywhere - First of all - you get exactly what you pay for and also what is promised. We were lucky that booking also paid for our transport from Standsted airport, so our arrival was without any problems. Also the entrance to the building, the apartment and the room was exactly according to the instructions that Tom sent us in the message. Everything is by code and without contact with the host. There are other rooms in the apartment, but during our 5-day stay, we were completely alone for the first three days. The room is equipped with beds, wardrobes, two tables and chairs and a TV. We didn't even need more. Also, the size of the room was more than sufficient. In addition, we had a fully equipped kitchen where we only cooked tea and soups, but I can imagine cooking a complete dinner for the family here. The refrigerator is located in the corridor opposite the bathroom. Bathroom is equiped with shower and toilet, but there is also another separate toilet with sink.
And now comes the best part. The view is amazing, but the location is even better. Quiet and yet close to everywhere. Right under the window is the port for an Uber boat that will take you anywhere along the Thames. An all-day ticket costs 22 pounds for an adult, half for a child. All attractions along and on the river - Tower bridge, London Eye, Big Ben, Westminster... can be reached in a few minutes by the most fun transport - the boat. The kids loved it and so did I.
It is also easy to get to the city from the accommodation by walk (Tower Bridge is 30 minutes only) by bus, but also by metro, the Canada Water station is about a 15-minute walk away. You can also take the overground railway from Surrey Quays, where is also a Tesco express and many other shops and restaurants.
However, the best restaurant is again right under the window - The Ship & Whale. Traditional English restaurant with friendly service and excellent food. Plus, every day they have an offer where two eat for dinner for £10-£15. The only minor complaint concerns cleaning, which we did not even register in the common areas during those 5 days. However, we maintained the cleanliness ourselves, we were alone for the first three days, so there was no problem with that, but if the apartment is shared, it would be nice if the cleaning was ensured.
- Romina (9/5): This is a great location out of the bustle of the city with a great kitchen. - The view was beautiful. It was nice to be able to walk out to the Thames and grab a quick breakfast and go see the small animal farm. The bus station was very close- less than 5 minute walk and a short ride to the trains and the local Tessco and mall. The neighborhood and apartment was very quiet and had a new and updated kitchen with all necessary equipment. The host answered quickly when contacted and solved any issues. It was not clear in the description that this apartment could be shared among 3 different bedrooms with up to 7-8 people sharing the bathrooms and kitchen. We were a little scared and surprised when other guests showed up at 10 pm at night unable to access the code to get in. We should have been notified that other guests were expected. In addition, since the bathroom is outside of the bedroom, it is very easy to lock yourself out if you don't have the code and you close the door.
- Matěj (8/5): Overall a nice accommodation - Convenient location, equipped kitchen The common areas including bathroom were not cleaned during our stay (4 days) which was needed since there is one bathroom for three rooms.
It was constantly cold in our room - the heating turned off automatically very soon after being switched on.
- Oksana (9/5): Room with a view on the Thames - - Stunning view over the river
- Comfy beds
- Big room
- The shared facilities are kept kleen and equipped - The lock on the room is not so straightforward
- David (10/5): The little gem in the big city - This property was fantastically price with a stunning view across the Thames. It was not far from the 02 which for the price of the room was another huge plus. The room was very species with everything you need to make a good meal. Can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be staying again in the future Only down side was the sofa bed wasn’t the most comfortable but apart from that, can’t fault the property at all
