Guest Reviews
- Sobhi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pun (9/5): Its very nice place for stay silent and great location also the owner is very friendly and helpful - Everything I didn’t find any complaint
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (6/5): Large room in Harrow. Clean, in good condition. Not Quiet. - The room is on the first floor and is plenty large enough for two. It does face North overlooking the street, so not as sunny as the other side of the house, but the street was mostly quiet and the large bay window let in lots of light onto the large table where I like to be. When the children were out it was often peaceful.
If you like wood as I do, you will enjoy the smooth oak floor which is in top condition. The ceilings are high and the bed is comfy too. There is a fridge, several chairs, a sofa and a standard lamp. Masses of hanging storage - two double door wardrobes - shelf space, and there is still plenty of room to spare.
Despite all this excellent kit, I told the host I wanted a side table. No problem, one soon appeared. A mains extension lead? Here is one.
The shared bathroom and kitchen were clean enough. Not only to home standards, but to hospitality standards.
Whilst making little noise I often stayed up late drinking wine. This they tolerated. Thank you. The place was run by the father of a family on the ground floor. The children were not quiet. Nor was Mum sometimes. From time to time they exploded into shouting at each other. This may be therapeutic for them, but it was not for me. Guests should be prepared to tolerate it. Or maybe join in.
On the Piccadilly line it usually takes over an hour to get to a place in the West End. Also be warned, the Eastbound Piccadilly line trains towards central London appeared at random times and often not when my mobile app predicted. Since there may be fifteen minute gaps between trains, before I learned to allow for this I was sometimes late.
The shared kitchen is small and it is not practical for two groups to share it at the same time. It is also used by two long term couples. They were considerate and tried to avoid my cooking times. Inevitably sometimes I had to wait half an hour to use the kitchen. It is surprising this did not happen more often. Much better than no kitchen at all.
I could not avoid hearing people walking around in the attic flat above my ceiling.
There was nowhere to put my bicycle except the host's back garden which I could not get at so I did not use my bicycle.
- Nicholas (5/5): Passable - Spacious room No TV nor Netflix
- Jefin (7/5): Good -
- Skuyler (9/5): Superb - - Room was Spacious
- Bed was Comfy (had a memory foam layer in between the mattress
- All amenities like a fan, steam iron, clothes hangers, power sockets, towel were all present. Presence of limescale on Showerheads and Kettle.
- Nk (9/5): Superb -
- Frances (10/5): Exceptional -
- Monschein (10/5): Nice - Very nice room, kind householder, comfortable and warm bed, large table for work, great sunshine, very clean bathroom, convenient kitchen and wash machine, good location Nothing bad
- Mahabir (10/5): Amazing experience I would most definitely visit again. - It was very clean and tidy. I enjoyed the environment. The furniture were very comfortable and the temperature of the room was cozy I loved everything about this place. The host was very welcoming and kind.
- Gardenia (5/5): Too loud and needs a deep clean and renovation - The room was really big and the bedsheets were clean, there was additional sofa in the room and a big table. It was quite cold, especially the kitchen, because there was a tiny hole in the wall.
The bedsheets and towels were very clean but the bathroom was dirty, especially walls, there were even tiny ants on the wall. The shower curtain was broken. The same for the kitchen, the counter was wiped clean, but all crumbles were lying around, the fronts of the cupboards and insides were dirty.
What disturbed me most was that the host family lives downstairs and pays no mind to the fact that they heave guests. There was a women yelling at others every day, literally yelling, and literally every day, and that is just not acceptable for me.
The windows in my room were absolutely filthy.
The whole house needs deep cleaning immediately.
