• Constance (5/5): Sorry but, It was the worst place we’ve ever stayed on Booking.com - Did not like the smell. The sheets, the towels, the whole room smelled of smoke and musty laundry. It’s a non-smoking facility so what caused the smell? It was very unpleasant. Hard to sleep in a stinky room. Also, the description made no mention that it’s up a steep half-flight of stairs. Not easy to manage cat 80 years old with 5 bags of luggage. I never would have booked if I knew about the stairs. And the host told me it was close to the airport. It absolutely is not! It was a 12-15 minute ride in a $46 cab. Add that to the cost.

• Gajendra (8/5): - The whole building inside was clean, water, milk, tea, coffee, sugar all free, but some days milk and water ran out and not kept in fridge till next day. Our ac unit was tripping, we were instead given a small fan, but ac units in other rooms were working fine, the dryer was tripping and didn't work, many kitchen appliances were tripping. Owner needs the whole fuse box checked. Some kitchen appliances were not working properly. The kettle didn't switch off and kept on boiling the filter coffee machine was leaking.

• Roz (10/5): A real gem just minutes from Kerrisdale - Set in a quiet leafy suburb, but less than a 10 minute walk to the shops and cafes of Kerrisdale, the room was a good size, with a work desk and very comfortable bed and pillows. The ensuite is compact but neat and tidy with good shower pressure and lighting above the mirror. The room is in a house with 3 other rooms (rarely bumped into other guests although I could hear them coming and going), with a large shared kitchen with cooking facilities and large fridge. I met the host a couple of times who was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and also responded promptly to any messages promptly. It can be hard to find accommodation of this quality in Kerrisdale, a real gem!

• Joseph (10/5): Lovely quiet, leafy place to stay, easy access to town and amazing host Arnica - The location is a very pretty leafy suburb, which we would never have seen if we'd stayed in the centre of town, yet only fifteen minutes drive or half an hour bus ride from downtown Vancouver. The house is quiet, with all amenities, the room was large and bright, and the bed was huge. The best thing was the host, Arnica, who went out of her way to help us when our rental car had a flat tyre, she lent us her phone for multiple calls, recommended local mechanics she knew and generally assisted us to resume our vacation quickly. Lovely lady, and a great place to stay! The only slight downside was no TV in the room, but we lived without it for two nights without detriment.
